Well I bought this on Wed. but there has been some drama about it.
Ok I get GRAW(360) on Wed at about 7 pm. I am playing it and my dads comes in room, trips on ethernet cable and 360 falls over(on to carpet just from standing, so its fine) and I hear a loud sound. I instantly knew what the sound was. So I look at the disk and it has that crazy circle scratch in it.
So then I have to wait til Fri to get it fixed. My mom was suppose to get it fixed after work but the tire went flat. So she gets home and now I am pissed. But we get the spare on and she drives me to Gamecrazy.
So I get down there and the dude resurfaces it for free after I tell him what happened. I look at disc and it has a swirl pattern in it. I think to myself,"Whatever." I go home and put it in 360 and now it says its not a 360 compatible disk. So I go back and he says opps I think I made it worse. So he talks to manager and he says give him a new one.
Hooray for me. NEVER put your 360 vertical.

I don't think it is a very good idea to put your 360 horizontal on the carpet either, might get too hot.

Not to mention the fibers may get inside the ventilation shafts and could cause damage...

Huge,Packed Flea Market yet nothing special...Honestly,If I was looking for games only I'd been better off hitting garage sales.
I did come home happy though..
I've been passing up this little "mint" Lucky Number vending machine for months now..The price has always been more then what I wanted to spend $75.00 plus(the vendor always kept it in the back of his van-away and would not budge on his price.
Today I found another vendor with it..Somehow he got it from the other vendor as it is the same machine.
Sadly, the vendor that had it now is even higher in price for things(ridiculous) then the other..So,I took a chance and asked him his price.
$35.00..I haggled him to $30.00 and I got it....Got it home and I can't believe how mint it is inside and out...Plus it's so damn heavy..

Due to the nice weather we've had this week in NY, I decided to check out the yearly Regional market (very large flea market). Despite the rainy morning, the turnout was great! Here's what I managed to pick up from four different vendors:
http://img45.imageshack.us/img45/9233/im0003539om.th.jpg (http://img45.imageshack.us/my.php?image=im0003539om.jpg)
First the pricey $5 each titles:
- Castlevania (NES)
- Pocky & Rocky 2 (SNES)
- Knights of the Round (SNES)
Next is everything else, which were all $3 each:
- Super Volleyball (Genesis, complete)
- Chiki Chiki Boys (Genesis, boxed)
- Pac-Man 2: The New Adventures (Genesis, boxed)
- Kung-Fu Heroes (NES, sleeve & instructions)
- Yo! Noid (NES, sleeve & instructions)
- Bubble Bobble (NES, official Nintendo case & instructions)
- Mario Bros. (MES)
- Target: Renegade (NES)
- Commando (NES)
- Little Nemo: Dream Master (NES)
- Kiwi Kraze (NES)
- Mappy-Land (NES)
The only thing that sucks about getting decent quantities of items at a time is the cleaning... For me, everything must get cleaned up as soon as I get it home.

03-12-2006, 06:07 PM
Went to the flea market today, trading in some stuff. Here's what I got:
Genesis:
Super Thunder Blade (complete)
Rocket Knight Adventures (cart only)
Phelios (cart only)
Valis III (cart only)
Valis (cart only)
Rolling Thunder 3 (cart only)
Sega CD:
AH3 ThunderStrike (complete with form)
Dreamcast:
Red VMU (free)
Well, I got a free VMU, not too bad. :)
I was mainly looking for ThunderStrike, Rocet Knight Adventures, and Super Thunder Blade, but the other titles were alright. Rolling Thunder 3 was cool, same for Phelios, but both Valis titles were just meh. My Valis cart has a lot of stickers on it, and part of the cart label was ripped.
I was looking for Dreamcast titles, but they didn't have anything that I was looking for. They had Skies of Arcadia, but I'm not into RPGs (BTW they were selling it for $12 complete). Also they had Sunset Riders for the Sega Genesis, but I didn't purchase it because I only played the SNES version, and not the Genesis version.
In the end it was a good day. :)

NES - Darkman (complete) - 2.99
Meh. The thrift there also had a 5200 trackball controller and a few scattered games. I asked if they had any more games or the system but they didn't know. I think they believe the trackball is a game system, because they wanted 20 bucks for it.

The lone advantage to wokring at Gamestop is the free/cheap stuff that you can acquire. I scooped Alundra and Zone of the Enders: 2nd Runner for $5 a piece from a customer and received the GunCon from another customer free of charge. I also got the Metal Gear DVD and the Onimusha laser cell for free.

I haven't posted my finds in a long time, I figured I would just say everything I have gotten so far:
ATI Radeon X1600 Pro 512mb DDR2 - Free!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was talking with my father the other day (who was nice enough tomiss my birthday), and we brought up the subject of video cards. I happened to mention that I was thinking about getting a new one, and let him know that I wanted either a 512mb ati, or an nvidia. 2 days later, and he shows up saying happy b-day with this in his hands. it costs 300. DAMN!
Now for my other finds:
Now that I have more than 96mb of graphic power, I figured it would finally be time for me to buy doom 3 (I told myself I would not buy it until my computer could handle it.) I looked at the clearence section of target while I was there and picked on some awesome scores as well:

the last 2 days' worth of finds. i somehow managed to copy a couple of evg2000's finds too. ;)
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v203/orangest/wacka.jpg
got these yesterday. the wack-a-critter arrived from this auction (http://www.digitpress.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=81738), the super famicom super dogfight and the power rangers ninja storm game (that evg2000 also found) came from goodwill. i am having trouble finding out info on the power ranger cart. the board is just about the same length as the sfam board, and the cart slot look like a genesis cart...
today, i hit a thrift in west hollywood that is a thrift in name only, in terms of the prices they give to lunchboxes, old toys, records, video games and the like. for $10, i could have picked up a loose SMB/DH, a shrinkwrapped 2600 sea hunt, a loose 2600 football, or a complete mega drive g-loc. however, for $10, i was able to pick up this:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v203/orangest/darktower.jpg
all of the pieces are accounted for. the big bummer is that the batteries in the tower were left in for a long time, and had leaked on to the contacts. the tower wouldn't work at all at first; after some baking soda cleaning, i can get the zero and the red dashes to appear, but pressing any button results in a click and nothing more. i'm going to try cleaning the contacts further, and hope against hope that that's all it is.
i also picked up a zaxxon board game there, to match evg again. the only thing it's missing, unfortunately, is the zaxxon piece itself.

Hit the local SA and couple of pawns. Came away with the following:
SNES:
Hunt for Red October
Nolan Ryan's Baseball
Genesis:
Caesars Palace
N64:
Cruis'n World
$11 for everything. Nolan, Caesars, and Cruis'n are all complete.

For the Milwaukee collectors out there, the MegaMedia Exchange (formely TakeTwo) on 76th has finally torn open all of those $34.99 packs of 2600 & Intellivision games and priced them at $2.99 each. Picked up a loose 2600 Pigs in Space and a boxed complete Mr. Basic Meets Bits 'N Bytes...didn't know it came with 6 overlays!

Then I hit a GameStop and asked if the N-Gage QD that has been on the shelf forever was still $99.99. The manager said yes, but if it was no longer listed, he could give it to me for 30% off. Sure enough it was, so I picked up a brand new unit with 10 pre-paid minutes (not that I'm ever going to use it as a phone!) for less than most used ones are going for on Ebay. Now I can finally try out the 3 dozen plus games I picked up for $3.50 a pop last year!
Not a bad end to a pretty dry Winter,

Just came back from two flea markets.
Traded in Doom, Battle Blaze (ugh!), Wanderers III and Captain America (SNES) for Prince of Persia, Cacoma Knight and Yogi Bear... eh, not the hottest trade ever, but doing the math in my head it comes out about even.
I bought Young Merlin for $5
GEN Ristar for $3 (WOO HOO!)
and ended the day with BlaZeon $5.
Not bad.

Game Traders didn't have too much today, but I picked up a few things I've been wanting for a while:
Beyond Good & Evil (ps2) - $17
Gran Turismo 4 - $17
Super Game Boy - $5
Blockbuster:
Ryu SF 15th anniversary ps2 controller - $5
Psychonauts (ps2) - $15
Metroid (classic series) GBA - $5
Phantom Dust (xbox) - $10
Killer 7 (gc) - $10
I ran out of money, but they had a bunch of other stuff I was considering, like the Megaman Anniversary Collection for $10, and Feel the Magic and Zookeeper for the DS for $10 each.
I've had a lot of pent-up game buying built up over the last few months. ^^
