DVDs
The Life Aquatica $5
The Birds $4

Games
Marvel VS Capcom PS1 - $10

Also a box full of 80's rock cassettes for $2. There's about 50 tapes in here but I'll only be keeping 10 or so. The rest got to the thrift store.

Went off to a bunch of stores today. Got some goodies and all that cost a grand total of around $30. It's more money than I've been spending lately but that's about to change. Summer = Beach time, working, & late night video gaming.

What I found at CHKD:
~4ft tall Amy Rose from Sonic. ($7)
Old Gateway 2000 machine that might need a bit of work. ($3)

At a shop up the road a ways:
To complete five of my cart only Genesis games I got some boxes with manuals for $5. The owner of that store is really great.

Another game store FAR away:
They had some nice Saturn games in stock. I've been struggling to find SAT titles in my area so I managed to get:
Resident Evil ($9)
Congo ($3)
Of course both are complete and in great condition, the only way I like buy Saturn games. :D

At some pawn shop near the beach they didn't have jack for PCs, consules, speakers, nothing! Spent some time looking around and when I wondered to the front counter I realized they had some different stuff in there $1 CD-only game/dvd bin. Finguring through it I managed to pick up these:
Battle Arena Toshinden ($1)
Fatal Fury 3 ($2)
Mega Man X5 ($1)
Now, I do hate to find loose Saturn titles, but sometimes I just have to at least grab it when it's cheap incase I do stumble across a complete with a FUBAR disc. Now, this pawn shop was the same place I found all this last month:
http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c196/cyberfluxor/4-10-06-01010.jpg
Most are PSX games which I prefer not to have SO many loose (Tis why I requested Cases + Manuals on the trading forum to buy) but since I do play more imporantly than collect, I can play without a case (Although it somewhat strikes a nerve in my head). But hell, you get what you can find!

So ya, that's my finds for the day. :)

Today I returned to the Salvation Army where I found a 5200 haul last week and unconvered the missing Wico Y-cable. :) I still can't believe they charged me $5 for it.

Also picked up a shrinkwrapped copy of Lightspeed, one of my favorite PC games of all time. Now I can replace my original opened copy (which is now for sale, by the way).

went to probably 20 store yesterday with hezeuschrist. thrifts, EBs, GameStops, GameCrazys, GameRushs, more thrifts.... you name it. didn't really find all that much. the Dr. Mario was a score... i need 4 more NES classics to complete the subset.

my personal prize in there is the Punisher PC game. i have yet to check if the disks are still good.... but the punisher was my favorite comic growing up, and i have a big emotional attachment to anything punisher related. just the documentation that came with the thing is awesome....

Hmm, that's interesting - they make a lot of the plush toys that end up in US crane games (CHALLENGE-R, etc.).

Oh right. It probably wouldn't be too hard to make one if you get someone who's good with a sewing machine to do all the hard work for you. It would be like a large plushie stuffed animal with foam blocks.

I'm interested in all the Nintendo merchandise from the 80s/early 90s. There's just so much of it.

Not a whole lot of stuff sitting around at the flea market. I just barely missed on a boxed ALttP for the SNES... :(

The good news though is I picked up 8 NES titles at $2 a pop, 1 SNES title at $3, and one boxed Genesis title, also $3. The River City Ransom cart made my day as I've been looking for that one for some time now.

Been a longtime lurker, but haven't really had any finds worthy of posting until now. These were all acquired (from various places) over the last week 1/2.

http://i73.photobucket.com/albums/i211/WSUCougars51/VCS.jpg

Scored this VCS at a VV for $10.00. It's in great shape cosmetically, and works like new. My two existing 2600s both have video issues of one sort or another, so I'm pretty happy with this pickup. :)

http://i73.photobucket.com/albums/i211/WSUCougars51/games.jpg

The three NES games are complete (instructions, inserts, posters, styrofoam blocks, etc.), and with the exception of Gauntlet, look like they've rarely been played. I was particularly stoked to find Contra! Total cost = $1.99 each at GW. The two Atari games were $.99 each at another VV, and the complete Dragon Quest IV ($12.81 shipped off of Ebay) is for....

http://i73.photobucket.com/albums/i211/WSUCougars51/famicom.jpg

This also came from Ebay. Been looking for one of these little guys for awhile, and found a buy it now that I couldn't pass up ($20.00 shipped). Works great (after a bit of cleaning), and even came with an AV mod! :)

http://i73.photobucket.com/albums/i211/WSUCougars51/tg16.jpg

Finally, my big score. Found this TG16 lot at a local GW. My wife and I stopped in after work, 15 minutes before closing, and found everything sitting in a pile on a shelf with various electronic junk. Total cost = $20.00

Thanks Fuyukaze! :D

I'm pretty happy to finally have Life Force in my collection,

the first shmup I ever played. It also puts me at 20 NES games.

Here are some recent finds from May:

http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y139/ckeene/GENandNES.jpg
Those Genesis games, "Cool Spot" and "We're Back: A Dinosaur's Tale" are what I like to call "time capsule games." Who even remembers those franchises? "We're Back" was a children's movie, and the Spot was a mascot for 7-Up. These NES games were from a flea market for $10 dollars, total.

Now, here are some finds that I never got around to posting until now. I should mention that some of these are from April as well.

http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y139/ckeene/NESbunch.jpg
NES GAMES:

Revenge of the Three Kingdoms
Burai Fighter
Flying Warriors
SMB/Duck Hunt/World Class Track Meet
BurgerTime
Bomberman
Castlequest
Star Wars
Star Tropics
Mission Impossible
Mach Rider
MegaMan4
Street Fighter
Uninvited
Battletoads
Yoshi's Cookie
Super C
Clash at Demonhead

Here are some complete games I found at a local used bookstore:
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y139/ckeene/SNESandSMS.jpg

I also found these at the same store. These had the original instruction booklets and those cool plastic Nintendo cases.
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y139/ckeene/NESwithinst.jpg

Here's a bunch more Genesis games I've acquired here and there (mostly thrift shops):
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y139/ckeene/Genesis.jpg

I found this boxed NES at a flea market. It works much better than my original one, and it still had all of its cool posters and documentation. I'll just put my old NES in this box and keep it stored there for the remainder of its retirement:
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y139/ckeene/NESBOX.jpg

Here are a couple last-gen fighters. Dig that long jewel case for the "Battle Arena Toshinden":
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y139/ckeene/ToshindenandVFtb.jpg

Finally, here are some random PS and DC games I found. Some of these aren't exactly RARE, but they are definitely hard to find in the wild, and I found most of them for about a dollar. I also picked up this complete "Perfect Dark" to FULLY complete my old copy:
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y139/ckeene/PSandDC.jpg

So, there you have it. Thank you for your time.

I'm not into commodore 64 at all, but i picked up a game called Oil Barons by Epyx. I have searched for this but haven't found much on it. Can anybody give me an estimate of it's rarity and value? It is complete with the box, disk, instructions, the board, and ALL of the little game pieces. Maybe I can get a pic of it up over the next few days.

I bought some new shelf brackets for my room just now. £6 for 3 function-before-looks ones. I only put a new shelf up one or two months ago and it's already overflowing.

I was in the local area of Gamestation so I popped in not to buy anything but just check what old games they had. I ended up walking out with Mario Kart Advance: Super Circuit for £15. That's the first time I've seen it below £25 and I refuse to pay more than £15 for a handheld game.

They had a 3DO (possibly Goldstar, that's what it said on the price label) with 15 games for £65. They also had a CD-i with some random bits and bobs for something like £45. That's the first time I've ever seen either console. I've got no idea what they're like or what price they should be, so I don't see myself buying them. This is the shop that's selling a loose NES with one controller, a loose Mario Bros/Duck Hunt and a loose zapper for £35.

I found a lot of gameboy zelda games at a local shop.

GB - The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening
GB/GBC - The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening DX
GBC - The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages
GBC - The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons

Since I bought all of them I got them cheap :D

They were all loose, and there's a little wear on the zelda DX, otherwise they're great!

Before Dave yells at me for the pic being to big, sorry my camera is new and I haven't figure how to make the photos smaller yet.
Easiest way - download the MS image resizer power tool - link (http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/digitalphotography/learnmore/tips/eschelman2.mspx)

You just right click and click resize pictures (it'll give you 4 options, for the next I'd go with 320x240 or 640x480)

It's not the best way (I'm sure the results in photoshop are nicer/smaller file size), but it's free and easy. And fast. I usually use that powertoy instead of photoshop since it's a one click solution :)

Went to the thrift stores today, had a close encounter of the gaming kind. I was just saying to myself "Man, this store never has any video games." Then I turn around and BAM! A great big blue case that says Sega CD on it. The title: Lunar 2. So I think "bummer, just a stupid racing game." But I take a look at it anyways. As soon as I see the front I realize it is THE Lunar! I am so excited to have a holy grail game in my hand (the closest I own to a grail is Mario Party 3). I almost wet myself. Then I open it up. Guess what was inside? Freaking GROUND ZERO TEXAS!! Not even the complete game, just Disc 2. Man was I pissed. But the Lunar 2 case and manual for $5 isn't that bad a deal, so I bought it, and will sell them.

Also got:

Mario Tennis manual (N64) - Free
Altered Beast (GEN) - $2.15
Crue Ball (GEN) - $2.15
Last Battle (GEN) - $2.15
Thunder Force III (GEN) - $2.15
Ghostbusters (GEN) - $2.15
Syphon Filter 2 Strategy Guide - $.50
Wild Arms Strategy Guide - $1
Pokemon Stadium Strategy Guide - $.5
Scene It? DVD board game - $5.50

That's what I was thinking. Poor, poor Final Fantasy III cart. Who could've done such a thing to such an amazing game?

Anywho, I went down to Circuit City today to get a price match on Kingdom Hearts II because CompUSA was selling it for 29.99. Worked out pretty good. After all, I got an extra 10% off when it was all said and done.

I'm psyched about my find today in ore ways than one.

There's this thrift store that I often visit while out on the road for my job that somehow gets huge gaming donations once a year or so. Within the past few years I've found curiously large bundles of classic games there. The last one was a load of about 60 or so complete NES games, another time it was about 50 Colecovision games and a few consoles and one other time it was a ton of Sega stuff including about 20 or so complete Sega CD games, a Genesis Master system converter and all kinds of accessories. I have no clue where this stuff keep coming from. I can't imagine a collector just giving all this stuff to a thrift store and there's really no classic game stores in the area but someone's donating this stuff.

So today I stop by to check things out because I figured that Mondays are always good thrift store days in the spring. People have their tag sales over the weekend, donate what they don't sell and it usually ends up on the sales floor on Monday.

So I enter the store and check this rack up front where they usually have a bunch of CDs and the random video game. That's where I saw the first few and I knew something was up. Three complete Atari 2600 games, all in excellent condition too. If they were in beat up condition I probably wouldn't have though twice but finding them complete and in the condition that they were in set off alarms in my head that the mystery donator may be back.

So I checked a few other spots; by the books, the electronics, nothing... Then I saw it. In a large bin of stuff that was out on the floor but hadn't been put away yet was a huge pile of boxed Atari games. It's amazing how fast a person can move when they want. I found a big storage container on the sales floor and started to fill it up and got to the front to ring out as fast as I could.

So I'm at the counter ringing things out when a woman on a cell phone comes in with a shopping carriage. She looks at me in passing, stops and says "Son of a Bitch". At this point everyone's looking at her. Appearantly she heard of this lot from someone else and ran across town to get them herself. She says "I bet you grabbed every God damn one of them" and ran to the back of the store. I kind of felt bad because I definately know what it feels like to be 10 minutes late for a nice find but I also felt a little warm inside that I was the early bird this time and not the other way around this time. When she left the store empty handed and still on the phone I heard her muttering to someone about how "I was obviously a God damned dealer". At this the woman ringing up my order said "Don't worry about her, she owns a store and just resells everything she buys anyways herself."

So here's the final count. 52 complete Atari games. Most in very excellent condition. Most of the games were the Sears Telegames variants which I didn't have complete copies of so there are going right into my collection. The cost? $.99 each.

Here's (http://home.comcast.net/~griking/atarigames.jpg)a pic of the lot.

I give you two thumbs up. 1 for pissing off the reseller lady who is obviously rude and shouldn't be dealing with the public anyways.

The second thumb up is for the most awesome score!

I'm embarassed to say i got those nickelodeon games

May I ask just what the hell is so embarassing about Ren & Stimpy, Rocko's Modern Life & Ahhh! Real Monsters?

They are all (In my opinion) Low quality games based on low quality cartoons, No offense to anyone who likes the games or cartoons.

I was also a bit embarassed to get the simpsons games, I don't like that cartoon either, But, No offense to anyone who likes them, Mainly this is going to Jumpman Jr.

But anyway, I sold the nickelodeon games, bart's nightmare and Goof troop for $2.50 each, So the whole lot in a way was free, and i got 50 cents profit already.

But my dad had to take my mom into town..!

Do you live on a plantation or something? ;)

Just kidding - great finds, though. The Goldeneye 007 is worth $12.00 alone in my opinion. So is Ice Hockey.

I saw the "Just kidding" part, but i don't live on a plantation, I just put that in there to avoid saying where my mom went to, It's no big secret, I just don't want to say where i am located.

Anyway, flea market, 2 days ago, I Bought two PS2 games with their boxes (Greatest hits games) For $1 each (Nothing exciting, that's all they're worth too, i sold them the next day) And sold 4 of the SNES games i bought in my 54 game load for $2.50 each - The nickelodeon games and Bart's nightmare, also sold a GBA game for $4 that i bought for $2 (Loose Yu Gi Oh game)

Then i bought 2 PS2 controllers for $1 each at a yard sale (One is a transparent blue controller wich i plan to mod) but that's all i bought that day.

Yesterday at the flea market i bought a NES game that i didn't already have for $1 (Can't remember the name of it) And got a free Aladdin case and manual for genesis.

I Sold Some PS2, Xbox, Atari 2600, Genesis and SNES games for $56, And i did not get ripped off on that sale (It's all they are worth to me, i'm happy with the sale)

And then i bought at eb True crime streets of LA for xbox, complete, for $4.50 and Agressive Inline for PS2 for $4.50, True Crime is already on my Get Rid Of List.

Today, nothing, But i'm getting rid of more games soon, Nothing exciting, it's mostly common stuff.

Edit: UNquoted Something that i said, It was put into cambot's quote..

Here're a few (somewhat) hard-to-find NES games I picked up today:
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y139/ckeene/6NES.jpg

I'm especially psyched about Monster In My Pocket and Rad Racer II.

I haven't played it yet, but I don't know much about "DeathBots" by a publisher called American Video Entertainment. We'll see.

I was also a bit embarassed to get the simpsons games, I don't like that cartoon either, But, No offense to anyone who likes them, Mainly this is going to Jumpman Jr.

Weird. I was just skimming through the finds that people had this month and as I scrolled to the bottom of the page, I could have sworn that I saw my name mentioned.
How do you know I like The Simpsons? LOL. Honestly, though? I mean, I do, there's no question about that. But I think it's pretty obvious that I like Futurama, and I have made a few Family Guy threads, but I can't even think about how you know that I like The Simpsons?

I got a used, boxed Nintendo DS today. I'd been in the shop before trying to decide whether or not to buy one. Usually when I made my mind up they had gone.

I went into the shop today and while I was browsing, the guy behind the counter asked if I was still looking for a DS. I was surprised he recognised me. I said I'd think about it and went back to browsing. He said he could take £5 off if I buy it today. I thought about it some more. I got paid a surprise lump of money today for something I did in September. With that in mind, I decided to buy it. The only problem is it came with a 3rd party charger, although it was a brand new one.

£55 boxed and used.

They didn't have any DS games worth buying but he said he was getting Animal Crossing, Metroid, Trauma Centre and some other games in tomorrow. Being new in a shop, they'll probably be £30, which I think is far too much for a handheld game.

Been looking for the obscure sega master system games and finally found the 4 pack action cart with box. Really psyched even though games are cheesy, still fun to play. Almost as good as the Tec Toy games from brazil.

Decided to swing by Gamestation on the way home. Found a few things.

Zool: Ninja of the Nth Dimension (Game Boy, Complete)
Power Stone (Dreamcast, Complete)

£4.99 for the two. Only got Power Stone 2 recently so I'm happy to pick up the first one.

last sunday I tried the flea market and bought

NES-Arkanoid-$15

Legend of Zelda
Zelda II (with instructions, and both Zeldas in the most glorious condition imaginable)
Mega Man
Mega Man 2
Mega Man 3
Mega Man 4
Mega Man 5
Mega Man 6 (boxed without instructions)

for SNES

Batman Returns (w instructions)
Super Metroid (complete and it even had the freakin' plastic wrap on the cartridge)

All games were for a dollar a piece and in PERFECT condition

@_@

It's a great find for me since I'm from North Carolina and can't find anything at goodwill that doesn't smell like shit

Picked up Super Metroid (SNES) for $1 and Mega Man Xtreme 2 (GBC) for $5 both loose. Nothing too special here.

Away from video games though, I picked up a Kenwood VR-306:
http://img.shopping.com/cctool/PrdImg/images/pr/177X150/00/00/00/1b/f4/7156.JPG
(Stock photo from a site)
It's no longer in production but goes retail new for $230 still and used $80 or more. Managed to pick it up for $50 to replace the crappy $5 reciever I got last year to temporarily replace the digital reciever that blew on me awhile back. It apparently got something on the board (dust most likely) and caused a short circuit blowing out a few capacitors and transistors. So finally found a long-term system that is also surround sound and 500watts, whereas my previous systems were far lower wattage and only 2-channel. So it's a good upgrade! :D

I just bought out another world class repair center. I have most of the stuff, so almost all of it will be for sale. I only got one test cart which sucks, it is a gameboy one. I got a utter shit ton of parts for gameboy, NES, SNES, N64, and even a little gamecube. Best of all though, I got 5 different test stations. 2 NES, 3 SNES. I am only keeping the small NES counter tester, and everything else is for sale. I will inventory what all I have soon part wise, and see if anyone needs any of it. I just wanted to see what everyone thought about it. I will prob make a selling thread once I find out what all I have. Take care

It started by a visit to the off topic forum.

I saw that you replied to a topic about the simpsons there - The topic was titled something like "They took this guy out of the simpsons?" or "They killed him?!" And also since i saw a post you posted about your avatar, i figured you must like the simpsons.

I don't go into the off topic forum often, though. But when i was on thesims.com forums, i almost never went outside of the off topic forum. LOL

been having a perosnaly craptastic week, but findswise i've done well:

http://www.green-ranger.com/nes/finds/primefinds.jpg

the snes was 12.50 and is only missing the av wires.
the nes games were all 2.50 each
grandshitismo was only 2.50 I don't know why i bought it honestly.
prime I picked up at work, TRUX NOT MONKEY!!!!
the ds games are both sealed and were only 10$, they had another polarium but I decided to just get one

a nice find there
the other day I also found these two pc games for cheap:

http://www.green-ranger.com/nes/finds/sim2000.jpg
I remeber getting the basic simcity2k with my first cdrom kit back in the day, but the disk was somehow currupted or something and I neve could play it,
so now I have the super duper limted edition with all the fixins to add to my pc collection.

now I got home with my booty and decided to check out everything, I looked in the shitismo case and loookie what I found...

Not too much at the flea market today but I did find a couple nice items.

Vectrex - Scramble (loose) $0.50
NES - Hogan's Alley (loose) $5.00
NES - Pinball (loose) $5.00

"Five dollars a pop for those NES games?!" Yeah, I don't mind paying $5.00 for Famicom to NES converter-rich cartridges. ;)

http://www.startoursinfo.com/junk/DP-Finds-05-09-06.jpg

The guy also had a converter-rich copy of Gyromite I tried to get him to toss in but he was being the typical asshole that he always is. Since I was going to gut the games anyway I suppose I could have left one of the games I took since I'm sure no one wants Gyromite - but since he was an ass I decided to hang him with a game he won't be able to move. ;)

And after...

http://www.startoursinfo.com/junk/DP-Fami02.jpg

Too bad my NES of 19 years finally croaked just before testing them out. Oh well, after three hours of cleaning connectors and replacing parts to no avail I gave her a proper burial. :(

I picked up Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time today. Why are handheld games so expensive?

It's a good game so far but some of the words they use annoy me. "Fortulent", "Wondiferous" etc. That, and the first two hours are one big training session.

Because we're succumb to Nintendo Europe. Its actually cheaper to import US or JPN games then it is to buy new UK DS games in the shop. Shame I tend to like buying new things in person and that, well, I'd rather have the UK version of most games for some reason, annoying. Check the UK bargains thread for some places to get cheap DS games though.

Saturday/Sunday:
I only posted about the PS1 NFR disc, but I'll mention my other purchases.

I bought:
* Grim Fandango for $4 (CD1 is kinda flaky but worked well)
* The Even More Incredible Machine = $3
* Vampire: The Masquerade - Redemption = $1
* Creative Multimedia CD (a bunch of classic DOS games, including Populous II, Ultima VII, Ultima Underworld and Wing Commander Academy
* MSDN Library (October 1998) - $1

There was also a lady who was selling complete PC games for $3, or 2 for $5. I saw a TON of cool games which I bought to resell on eBay, because, honestly... I can't play them on my machine. Anyway, on saturday I picked up the following:

* Leisure Suit Larry 5: Passionate Patty Does A Little Undercover Work (EGA 5 1/4" floppy version, missing Playspy insert)
* Ultima VII: The Black Gate (DOS floppy version with hintbook!)
* Ultima IX: Ascension (Complete)
* King's Quest: Mask of Eternity (Complete)

I also made a list of what else was still available, and I went home and went back the following morning for these games:

* Death Gate (complete)
* Shannara (Complete with Terry Brooks' Sword of Shannara novel!)
* Hellfire (Sierra-released Diablo Expansion, very rare, complete)
* Shadowcaster (SEALED floppy version)
* The Elder Scrolls: Chapter II - Daggerfall (complete... a CD only version of this sold for $50 the other day X_x)
* Anvil Of Dawn (DOS RPG)

All are on eBay. Something funny, the Hellfire CD contains interviews with some of the dev team, as well as movies of a VERY BETA version of HALF-LIFE. I'm thinking of uploading them to Youtube, but I don't know the order they're in because the launch program doesn't work on XP.

Today (Wednesday May 10 - Mother's Day)

I got up VERY late today because I didn't set the alarm on my clock right, so I got to the flea market at 8:30 and not at 6:30 like I usually do. So the three vendors that I get most of my stuff from were already gone (dammit!) Still, I got:

* Full Throttle PC Manual - .50 cents
I bought the game a while back to sell on eBay but it didn't have a manual. It didn't sell, so I kept it. I just happened to see the manual and the guy sold it to me for two quarters, so what the hell, right?

* Clockwork Knight - (Saturn)
The case is all beat up to hell, but the disc looks brand new. Came complete with manual and back insert.

* Phantasmagoria: A Puzzle of Flesh (PC) - Case with all five discs and manual. Looks to be in great shape, no scratches or anything.

And I also got one of these (http://www.dreamgear.net/gbasp_powergrip.htm) for a buck. I should've bought more than one, but this one will do. I mostly wanted the screen protector. ;)

Nice going DKTheArcadeRat, King of Fighters Extreme is my favorite NGage game. It ain't perfect, but it's certainly fun.

Anyone need this for using an import adapter or a Game Shark with? It works (best on hard surfaces).
