I went to a car boot sale this morning.

The first lot of games I saw was a crate of PS1 games. I counted 17 then asked how much they wanted. They said £1.50 each. Stupidly, not being able to add up properly, I offered £14. They accepted that.:D They said they didn't want to take anything home, so any price would do. Nearly all are complete, and one has a cracked case.

Tenchu 2
Ridge Racer
Colin McRae Rally
Rage Racer
Pitfall 3D: Beyond the Jungle
Nuclear Strike
V-Rally
TOCA Touring Car Championship
Cricket 2000
Wild 9
R-Types
V-Rally 2
Tomorrow Never Dies
Future Cop: LAPD
Die Hard Trilogy
Actua Golf 3
TOCA 2 Touring Cars

Then I saw some Megadrive games. "A pound each, or £5 for the lot"
"Yeah, sure"
I noticed Zero: The Kamikaze Squirrel (Isn't that over R5? The guide isn't working.EDIT: R7 8-) )
I went to pay but they didn't have change for a £20 note, so they put the games in the car for me while I got some change.

Ariel The Little Mermaid (Genesis, grotty, no manual)
Zero The Kamikaze Squirrel (NM)
Red Zone (Complete)
Premier Manager (Complete)
PGA Tour Golf (NM)
Mega Games 1 (NM)
NBA All Star Challenge (NM)

So I looked around for something I could get £5 in change with. Someone was asking for £10 for a boxed PSOne screen with a car adaptor. I got them down to £5. Now I just need to find a PSOne to use it with.

There's a big car boot sale tomorrow morning withh 100 odd stalls. I could probably find a PSOne there.

UN-FREAKING BELIEVEABLE luck today at the garage sales. There were alot of places selling demo-discs, but I passed them all up 'cause of ridicoulous priciing ($30 for 15?!?!). Anyways, heres what I got:

>Dance Maker 2 electronic game (loose)- $1.50 -_-

...but then...

>Pro 600 handheld (pirated; complete w/ manual and cheapy box)-$.25

>Donkey Kong coleco tabletop (okay condition; works; w/ original battery cover(no residue!) and "C-batteries" AC adapter)- $5.00 :D

>Parker Brother's Merlin: the 10th Quest handheld (complete w/ box and maual; good overall condition)- $1.00

>SEGA Pico System (cannot get to work :() w/ all hook-ups and,
->Lion King: Adventure at Pride Rock w/ manual
->Math Antics with 101 Dalmations
->Mickey's blast into the past
->Pocahonta's Riverbend Adventures w/ manual
->Richard Scarry's Huckle and Lowly's Buisiest day ever

all having minor outside rain damage with at least 90% of it cleared-up, in otherwise great condition for,

Pretty terrible day for retro stuff at the car boot sale today, I missed the early bus though so maybe someone beat me to it.

V-Rally (Playstation): £1
Game Boy Color with Game & Watch Gallery 2 both in a Gamester case: £3

Fared a bit better with the modern stuff:

Gran Turismo 3 A-Spec (PS2): £2
Dark Summit (PS2) : £2
Star Wars Republic Commando (XBox): £4.99
Godzilla Destroy All Monsters Melee (GameCube): £4.99
9 x Official UK PS2 Magazines: £0.30
Nintendogs (DS): £9.99

Gun (XBox 360): £20
Condemned (XBox 360): £20
Brain Age (DS, New US Import): £19.99

Most of the stuff was from my usual batch of car boot sales, charity shops and pawn shops. The last three were from my favourite local independent game shop.

Since I didn't get much retro stuff I might head out to the car boot sale tomorrow. I usually take Sunday "off" since it's always smaller and there's less other stuff to do at 0830 on a Sunday when I'm finished.

I opened up Actua Golf 3 and an Actua Golf 1 CD fell out, while the AG3 disc was also in the box. :)

If only the extra game had been a good one. :(

The gaming stuff cost me $15.00 and I probably would of past on it if the vendor friend of mine didn't pull out all his crates to get it out.

Vintage German Wind Up Toy $5.00

Honestly: I had my mind more on the big Pocketbike Race I attended today..My seaching eyes for games just wasn't with me today..

Had quite the eclectic group of thrift store finds today:

http://64.159.77.51/~helmet/o2william/tz.jpg

Sega Saturn 3 Free games pack (Virtua Fighter 2/Virtua Cop/Daytona USA, plus "bootleg" sampler and NiGHTs sampler)

Might and Magic for Genesis (no manual)

Super Star Wars for the Super Famicom

Unknown SFC game (can't read Japanese - looking forward to trying this one!)

The Twilight Zone Companion (been looking for this for a long time!)

Some Star Trek video that's supposed to contain classic bloopers, something else I've been trying to find for years.

This is only the second time I've ever found SFC stuff at a thrift store. I passed on a soccer game (Super Soccer '95 or something like that) and some baseball game by Konami with a title I couldn't read. Hope that wasn't a mistake.

I had a good morning at the car boot sale.

2 N64s for £3. Only one controller (with a rumble pak), and one was missing the jumper pak. Apparently someone had taken "the red thing" out of it earlier in the morning. I have a spare jumper pak but I don't know what to do with only one controller. One of them was really dirty but I cleaned it up easily.

From the same person, a Megadrive 2 for £5.

Saw a big pile of PS1 games for £1 each. I found five I was interested in and got them for £4.
Medal of Honor
Ridge Racer Type 4
Populous
Tomb Raider 2
Resident Evil Director's Cut

Further on I found a small PS One for £5.

Then on another stall I saw an original black Gameboy for £3. He also had a small PS One for £9. So I got the two for £11. Then I realised there was a game in the Gameboy. F1 Race, so nothing special. The PS One came with Crash Bandicoot, Time Crisis, and Command and Conquer Red Alert, and a light gun.

I'm going to keep a PS One in the car with the screen I bought yesterday and maybe trade the other one in.

I'm still checking the consoles work. The PS1s do.

Edit: They all work, but the Megadrive's power button is stuck to on.

I hit the jackpot:

Well my local grocery store video section was closing down so I went looking for games. I found some good new releases, all the games were listed as 12.99.

I picked up the following:

Samurai Shodown V
Jade Empire
Ape Escape 3
Mega Man X Collection-PS2

Well to make everything else better the cashier only rang up 3. I bought Sam Sho for my friend as a birthday gift. I am most likely gonna go back and get more to get for trade in towards my Wii.

All the stuff is mint. I am removing sticker right now. Sam Sho and Ape Escape 3 look like they were never rented.

Went to the Anderson Jockey Lot on saturday, May 13th. It's the biggest flea market in the souteast or something, but there is not alot of video game stuff out there, but I did find a few things:

Boxed Ikari Warriors (NES): $5
Resident Evil 2 (N64): $6

While about to leave, I stumble upon an awesome find. I pass a couple that have 2 Dreamcasts and 1 Nintendo 64 sitting in front of them. Already having both systems, I asked how much they wanted out of curiousity. "Ten Bucks for them all" came the reply. Awesome.

So:

2 Dreamcasts, 2 controllers, 2 power cords (no AV cables), 1 Nintendo 64, 1 controller, 1 power cord (no AV cables):
10 bucks.

Not a bad day after all.

Nothing really special, but picked up these SNES games loose $1 each:

Kid Klown in Crazy Chase:
- Missing back lable, but front lable is intact and nice. Some writtings of numbers on the font and side, but nothing to go nuts over. I'll just clean it up and remove the marker. It does have a bit of dirt on it so it'll need a bit of wipping, but the covers and all are fine.

Super Black Bass in really nice condition and I like to play fishing games sometimes and currently only have PC fishing titles. It's a nice little addition to my collection.

The other is True Golf Waialae Country Club. It's also in great condition cartridge only. Great condition too.

Last thing found was an N64 4MB expansion card. It was listed as a $1 rumble pack so couldn't resist to at least pick it up as a spare, or later resell it for a few extra bucks. I'll check with a few game stores around here and see if they'll take a trade-in for it because I'm sure they sometimes get N64 trade-ins that don't have expansion cards installed.

Headded out to the Tuesday flea market as usual. Wasn't expecting to see much as this time of the year is usally filled with the weekly junk sellers trying to squeeze big money out of their.. well, junk... before the big summer season hits. Did come across a couple nice items though.

NES - R.O.B. (R.O.B. unit only) - $1
Genesis - Sega Genesis 2 RF box - $1 not pictured
Ms. Pac-Man TV Games joystick - $2
Ferris Wheel Erector set - $3
Universal AC adapter - $1 not pictured

The ROB goes through it's calibration sequence fine, however it was INFESTED with dead insects and insect droppings and then insides stink. I gave it a full disassembly and cleaning but it's sitting out in the shop until it airs out some. I really just bought it for parts and to sit on the shelf. Amazingly the Erector set is complete sans for two of the three set screws for the gearing - wasn't expecting that since the parts were kinda tossed around in the box. The Ms. Pac-Man TV Games stick is the second release with the rotating joystick for steering control in Pole Position - gives nice response and resistance and for $2 I couldn't pass it up.

Here's a shocker, all my NES & SNES finds came from GameStop. No, you heard me right, GameStop. It seems that the franchise had an inventory move around and the realtively new GS near my house got all the old stuff. However, it's basically the left over stuff the local EB stores had (the EB stuff magically disappeared last month). I know for certain because most of the Genesis games were the same ones I saw at one of the EB's before. However, most of the NES/SNES stuff was new to me (I don't visit every EB games in the district).

After 50% off, and the GS discount on top, I got the following for 28.67, which is less then the $27.99 NSMB I picked up at CC before hand.

http://img300.imageshack.us/img300/5302/im0003891ly.th.jpg (http://img300.imageshack.us/my.php?image=im0003891ly.jpg)

The games are: NSMB, Shatterhand, Ring King, Abadox, Conquest of the Crystal Palace, Metal Gear, The Lone Ranger, Robocop 2, Batman Returns (w/ sleeve), Dragon Spirit (w/ sleeve), Heavy Barrel (w/ sleeve), Crystalis (w/ sleeve and a tattered manual), D-Force, BlaZeon, and Romance of the Three Kingdoms III :D

All in all, it's not worth it, because of the pain I will suffer from the hours of painstaking labour in removing those EB-esque labels... Thank god Nintendo used plastic lamination to protect those NES/SNES cart labels to keep the goo gone from eating them up.

Picked up my reserved copy of New Super Mario Bros. On DS at GameStop. I've just about gotten myself broken from the habit of always buying the guides, so no book this time.

And I bought a Dark Age of Camelot Epic Edition for $20. I found out some of my buddies have gone back to this game, and I’m itching to rejoin them. I was only missing the Catacombs expansion, but this version was the same price. Now if only I can get moved to someplace with high-speed internet again. :embarrassed:

Hmmmm, that's pretty damn good. I wish I stumbled across something that big of a lot.

All I managed to find on my way to work are:
Genesis: ($1 each)
Abrams Battle Tank - Complete with wear & tear on manual & case
Young Indiana Jones - Complete with a little wear on case & manual, no tears
Beauty & the Beast Roar of the Beast - Complete in great condition
Kid Chareleon - Loose and looks real great

Nintendo 64:
San Francisco Rush - Loose and with some dirt but can be cleaned up to spotless. $2

I've been hoping to stumble across more Saturn games sometime soon but thus far it's creeping along real slowly. If I get a few bids on-line I'm hoping to win I'll post them up but have high doubts of winning.

I had literal "find" today when my visiting mother-in-law found a box in the attic I had forgotten about that contained a bunch of manuals I had thought were long gone: About half were 2600 manuals I've long since replaced and the rest were Game Boy manuals including all my original Final Fantasy Legend Books and Maps. There were also a spare set of 2600 paddles and a driving controller in the box, too. Nice.

In the mail today, from a member over at Twin Galaxies (yes we make trades there too, ppl):
Super Smash Bros. Melee Official NP Player's Guide
COST: Free (well, I traded FFX strat guide for it, so all it cost me was postage to mail it out)...

At Wal-Mart today (where I now work):
New Super Mario Bros. for the Nintendo DS
COST: $29.66 before taxes. Since this item was brand new, I wasnt eligible for the 10% Off Employee Discount. So, if any other Canadians wanna buy NEW SMB, do it at Wal-Mart before it goes back up to $39.97 in a few days....

$29.66? I'd better get over to Walmart right quick. That sucks you didn't get the discount, I would've got my 10% off at Zellers (I work at one), but they didn't get it tuesday so I just went to EB, where they tried several times to sell me that stupid $3 warranty... -_-

New Super Mario Bros. (new) - $27.99

I don't have a DS yet, but I'll be getting
one next month - a friend of mine is buying
a DS Lite and she'll be selling her Electric Blue DS to me.

And that's probably going to be it for game
purchases for the remainder of the month.

Pretty Good find actually for a Game. The guy behind the
counter said he would have had it if he would have seen it,
but he had been away, so now I know who the swine is
who's taking all the bargains. Grrr.

Today there was a HUGE anual neighborhood garage sale (about 60 houses) not to far from my house. Gaming finds were slim, but I did find a few items:

http://img209.imageshack.us/img209/5589/im0003907rs.th.jpg (http://img209.imageshack.us/my.php?image=im0003907rs.jpg)

The NES games were $2 each, the Model 3 Genny with AC adaptor and two official 6-button pads was $10, and the Genny game was $4.99, from a local game store I stopped at on the way home.

UPDATE: The system works fine after all. The problem is that stupid a/v connection Sega used on the Model 2 Genny and Majesco continued to use on the Model 3. It's a pain in the ass to connect, and seems really finnicky on a Model 3 (like it won't completely connect, so a slight touch will loosen the connection and the sound/picture goes out).

A pretty good week.

I picked up new super mario for 7.00
xenosaga 1+2 for 20$ +2$ shipping

I found a loose copy of risk for the genesis for 3$ at the local savers.

I had tried going to the salavation army on monday but I got there before they opened, so I went to the thrift shop instead (right down the street) and picked up some random toys and a infrared sensor for I beleive the nes satalite for 2$, it was getting pretty hot ,but i had very little to do monday so I went back to the salavtion army and they were opened.

the seller just put out 6 boxes of cards on the floor, I looked over..and was pleased to find all of them were filled with old magic the gathering cards!, he wanted 2-3$ per box..and I really could'nt say no.
I looked briefly through the boxes and saw some revised rarres, and figured it was worth the risk to buy them all.

and when I got home ohhh was it worth it:-)
heres a picture of just the rare stuff:

oh and the ds games:

i got a second chance offer on this auction (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=8283477908&ssPageName=STRK:MEDW:IT), quickly accepted it, and the package arrived today. i bid not really thinking i was going to get it; i thought it was going to take a big spike at the end. it's a quirky little package-the pete rose baseball, water ski and title match manuals are photocopies, but i have those already so that's alright. the rampage is in nice cosmetic shape, and meltdown's end label was put on upside-down!

the seller also included a nice little handwritten letter mentioning that this was the last system he bought after he started collecting in 1982, how atari screwed up the marketing of the 7800, and what his favorite games were.

these are doubles, and i only need mean 18 to finish off my US commercial 7800 collection, so just about anything (well, maybe not tank command ;) ) is negotiable...

Well I guess I did OK for the week.

I went to Goodwill and to my surprise I found a nice condition Socrates console, and it works great.

I went to Game Crazy (I'm glad I read the Rare GBA thread)

They gave me some free games that someone left there for Genesis.

I got Pit Fighter boxed no manual
NBA Live 96 no manual boxed
Madden 95 complete
Loose

College Football's National Championship
NHL 94
Tecmo Super Baseball
Columns III
La Rusa Baseball 95

And what I went in there for

A Mint and sealed copy Of

.......SUPER COLLAPSE II.......
