I went to the only Gamerush within 100 miles of me (Blockbuster game store, for those who don't have one around), and found out they were having a 50 percent off sale on some new games.
I picked up (all new):
- Lego Star Wars II (XBox 360) - $25
- Mortal Kombat: Deception Kollector's Edition (XBox) - $10
- Unreal Championship (Xbox) - $3
I've also been working on doing some organization of my game stuff, so yesterday I bought one of those storage systems that's meant to hang on a closet door, which I'm using to hold all of my controllers and other accessories. The area around my consoles looks a whole lot cleaner now... :)

What a great way to kick off a month. :D
First off, I hung out with Sarkenobi for a little bit in the afternoon and we hit up Stuff and a EBGames. Didn't get anything at EB, but I did manage to get something at Stuff:
NES:
Abadox (cart only) - $1.48
After we parted ways, I decided to hit up a couple more places. I wound up visiting two Goodwills and a CD/Game Exchange. At the first Goodwill, I found a black PS2 DualShock 2 controller for $2.99. That was pretty nice since I've been wanting to get another PS2 controller to replace one that broke last year. Now I have two again, and it couldn't have happened at a better time since I have a friend coming over tormorrow and we'll actually be able to play some multiplayer PS2 if she wishes.
The next stop was the CD/Game Exchange, where I got the following:
NES:
Crystalis (cart only) - $2.50 :D
Fantasy Zone (cart only) - $2.50 :D
Genesis:
David Robinson's Supreme Court (cart only) - free
NBA Live '96 (cart only) - free
NFL '95 (cart only) - free
The Genny carts were in a free box near the door that usually only has promo posters, old concert flyers, and the like. Couldn't turn them down. Also, Fantasy Zone is my first unlicensed NES cart.
At first, it seemed like the second Goodwill had nothing for me, and with my other finds of the day I wouldn't have been bummed. Overpriced Genesis sports games, bare Genny 2 and PlayStation units, and even a first party white Dreamcast controller priced at $39.99 (WTF?). But then as I was going through the game guides in the book section, I spotted an Earthbound Official Nintendo Player's Guide for 49 cents. :D
That will go great with the Earthbound cart I got for $4 in 2004. :)
Finally, late last night (so it technically was March), I was doing some cleaning and was going through some junk, and I found the SNES mouse pad that came with my original copy of Mario Paint. I thought I lost that years ago. :)
Hooray! Here's this week's finds:

That game thing is a programmable Master Mind game. With over 1 million possible combinations! And sound! And so on :-) I assume it's from Germany, as the writing is in German. IIRC you're in the States, so it has traveled quite a bit :-)
I could tell you more with some better pictures, as the small writing is unreadable to me :-)

Well, I know that now. :p
Seriously though, the box has English and German instructions - so who knows why the hell it ended up in Calexico of all places. (Then again, I've bought Scandinavian stuff here, so eh.) The English instructions have a Pressman trademark on them. Totally weird.

Not a bad day I must say...
When I got home I found a Play-Asia package waiting for me, with goodies from their recent Chinese New Years sale.
Legend of Starfi - Complete
Dialhex - Complete (LOVE that box!)
New Super Mario Bros Sound Drops ('Miss' and 'Clear')
Then at Best Buy I picked up Rave Master for $10 because, well, it was ten bucks (and I was a bit sore that I completely missed out on the $1.99 sale). Then I stopped at Goodwill and found the same SNES Madden carts that have been collecting dust for the past month in the game bin. I start to leave, but happen to glance into the VHS bin and I find
Tiny Toons Cartoon Workshop (Complete) - $3
The box is a bit beat up, but I was surprised to find the cart was in pristine shape, as well as all of the paperwork (including warranty card)!

Hit the flea market today. Didn't find anything out in the open lots where people sell junk out of their cars (best place to find games, most of the time they have no idea what they have and how much it's worth). So I went into the booth areas to the collector guy in the back. I picked up Chip Shot Super Pro Golf, complete, for $25, and a bare Miner 2049'er for the Colecovision for $10.
There's so many booths out at the flea market, I sometimes lose track of good shops. On my way out, I finally re-located the booth of the guy who I bought a Myriad 6-in-1 NES game from. He's got a lot of stuff, but nothing as good as that Myriad cart. He did have an INTV III console, along with a power-supply-less Atari 7800, amongst other things. I might end up picking that INTV III from him some time. I've been getting the urge to start looking for Intellivision stuff lately, and I don't have a model 3 console.

Flea Market..Pretty Big but not as big as I expected..I was sweating in a T shirt out there today..
The first thing I found was a Boxed Coleco Vision..$35.00 but when I asked someone had already asked. He grabbed it and gave the vendor the money.
10 minutes later I look and the same(not another) system is back on the ground in the same spot.(?)
Before I left the place I went back and offered him $25.00 and got it...
Ran into a vendor I know with usual $15.00 NES and SNES systems..I grabbed a SNES thinking it was $15.00(it wasn't the nicest, the second one was real dark faded.
Upon asking how much I noticed he needed help getting sewing machine working.
I placed the SNES back down to help and got it going right..A flea market game buying friend of mine walked up and grabbed the SNES..I cringed as I knew I messed up and put it down..I walked over to him while asking price and the vendor now wants $25.00 each, with 1 controller..
I said to my friend that "that" is what I was looking to buy but you take it,you take it..
..When I heard $25.00 I would not of bought it anyway..Upon inspecting the items the RF was broke and it had other issues that unless checked you were getting taken.
My freind did get it,as some things needed like the plug and other RF were found..
The 150-to 200 NES,N64,SNES games he has were all out on the ground but SOLD...I was grabbing this and that only to be told that everything was sold/as I watched her box everything up..
Good though as the same games I was grabbing two vendors down had the same for a lesser price.
Got my Pocket Bike-MinimotoGP Racing Boots in the mail today, scheduled for delivery on Monday via Fed-Ex.

Slim pickings at specialty stores... Man, I can't wait for Spring to roll around.
New Stuff:
http://img85.imageshack.us/img85/3424/im000479zc8.jpg
- Street Fighter Alpha Anthology is normally $29.99 new still... but GameStop/EB has dropped the price down to $19.99. Same story applies to Super Robot Taisen: Original Generation 2. If you're a GBA fan, and want any of the Banpresto/Atlus deal releases before they completely disappear, they're all marked down to $19.99 (B-Daman games are down to $14.99) now at the GameStop/EB chain. Lunar Knights was full $29.99 MSRP.
- Best Buy clearence was a bust for me. However, a certain title not listed on the clearence list, Klonoa 2: Dream Champ Tournament, was seven copies in stock, at the very affordable price of $9.99. You just can't pass a gem like this up for that price.
Old Stuff:
http://img478.imageshack.us/img478/4712/im000480wh9.jpg
Rares are the theme here. Trampoline Terror and Super Turrican 2 were $2.99 each, Twisted Tales of Spike McFang was $4.99, and Nectaris: Military Madness was too much :(

Scored a Nintendo Action Set almost complete in box (missing console instrucstions) with 9 games and a Game Genie with the large book of codes.
Lined up at 2 stores yesterday and managed to get a Wii. Zellers had 3 and I was nice enough to let the little kid in the line behind me take my spot cause I was number 3. Raced over to Toys are us and got aboot the 10th spot in a line and got the Wii they had a 20 or so there. So last night I got some excersize, damm im out of shape.

Ghost Lion and Ghost Lion were $4 each. Final Fantasy I prolly paid too much for at $20, but I wanted a boxed copy. No manual or maps for it either. :(

Dragon Warrior was $4. Came with a bunch of stuff too; A map, Adventure Guide sheet, a poster with dungeon maps on the other side, and the manual.

Niiiiiice. I actually saw a boxed copy of Final Fantasy on NES Saturday for $19. Didn't feel like paying that much, plus I have a loose copy and I already spent $29 bucks or so on 4 games.

I'm amazed at the FF NES prices. I bought mine when Game Stop was clearing out NES games and grabbed it for under $10. There were some good games for nice prices at that time, I miss it. Game Crazy though has buy 3 games for $10 on N64, PS1, SNES, NES, GEN and other 8/16/32 bit systems.

A friend looks at me wierd because I'm buying all these classic animes on VHS when some are available on DVD. I'm going to watch them and most likely keep for awhile. I might sell my VHS tapes back to another store or something later in the summer, we'll have to see.
Oh, and a thrift store they had a Power Mac 3 desktop with tons of memory and all the drives and all intact. I might go back it pick it up for the $10.

A couple days ago, I went to a local Fry's Electronics and bought some Xbox games knocked down cheap.
High Rollers Casino $5.03
The Suffering: Ties That Bind $4.90
Malice $4.90
Dead to Rights $5.03
Sphinx and the Cursed Mummy $4.90
The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers $5.23
From Russia with Love $6.54
The thing is, several games I've bought at Fry's that already have cheap prices end up ringing up slightly cheaper at the register. For example, Malice is actually priced at $5.31, and Dead to Rights is $5.59. They've been doing that a lot lately, not that I mind. I love to pick stuff up, mentally calculate how much I'm spending, and find out I've spent even less.
I used to never buy Xbox games, preferring to pick up titles for the GC or PS2 whenever possible, but now that the 360's made the original Xbox obsolete, I'm coming across piles of new games in stores for next to nothing. I'm wondering if I might have already passed the 100 title mark.

Are you sure you're not thinking of Sales Tax markup?

No, they don't put sales tax on the price stickers. I think they're slowly marking stuff down by percentages, and their somewhat incompetent sales staff don't always keep up with new stickers. For example, a while back I picked up Metal Slug 4 & 5 because it had been dropped from $39.99 down to $24.90. When it rang up, it was $21.50. When I went a few days ago, they had lowered it to $17.50. I just don't think their staff keep up with price drops that well. Still, it's a good surprise when you plan on spending a certain amount, and come to find out it's even less at the counter.

I decided to hit the other two Fry's Electronics in the Dallas area for cheap games. Picked up:
Spy Hunter: Nowhere to Hide (Xbox) $14.90 (I've been morbidly interested in this one since the movie it's based on was cancelled)
187 Ride or Die (Xbox) $6.90
Drive to Survive (PS2) $9.99
Tomb Raider: Legend (GC) $14.90
Tron 2.0 (GBA) $7.28 (only bought it for the original arcade version)
Catwoman (Xbox) $5.57
Furious Karting (Xbox) $5.85
Shadow Ops-Red Mercury (Xbox) $3.60
Marc Ecko's Getting Up (Xbox) $4.90
Shattered Union (Xbox) $9.99
I have got to be close to the 100 title mark for the Xbox. So far, I've got more than I could play through in a year.
