How can I check if an XBox game is fully readable?

I got a copy of Futurama a while ago, and it's pretty scratched. What I normally do with scratched game discs is pop them in my PC's DVD drive and do a surface scan with Isobuster or Nero Scandisc; if a sector shows up as damaged, then the game is unsellable or untradeable.

But I can't do this with this disc. All I get is a few files, the programs treat the disc as if it were a standard video DVD.

What program can I use to verify the disc is fully readable, if any? I'd like to get this thing polished or something... and then verify it before trading it off. I -was- going to trade it but the interested party backed out, so.

You technically can't. The only part of the disc written properly from in to out is DVD Video saying it can only be played in an Xbox.

The game data is written from out to in, and your drives themselves aren't going to even try that. You'd need to modify your drive first, and I don't think a program is even written yet for this.

I wonder if there is a program for modded Xboxes that will do this.

If you can't copy the contents of the disc to your xbox hd with dvd2xbox, then it's probably not playable.

Here's a very "analog" thought...

if you're that dedicated to making it's recently increased value worth your while...

you could put the game in your XBOX and play through it. No better test than that if you ask me.

It's called the "Mexican Seller Stupidity Formula".

The higher the pirate...ability of an item, the more it costs. If it's a Nintendo console, add $50 to the price. XBoxes sell for that price because they're usually premodded and include hundreds of pirated games.

I figured, you had an XBOX game, you know, you'd have an XBOX or a 360 to play it on. Of course, being a collector myself, I know that sometimes we all wind up with software without matching systems.

I second the modded Xbox with DVD2Xbox recommendation. It's really the only program I've found that works well for quickly testing games since it'll list the number of read errors and failed file copies but still allow you to retry copying files that didn't work the first time.
