    Default Megaman 9 sales numbers?

It's been one month since Megaman 9 graced its presence on the Wii and still loving it! Was wondering how it fared in sales. I tried google and VGchartz but no luck.

Does anyone know (or direct me to a site) what numbers it has successfully hurdled up to now?

Don't quote me on it because I don't follow those type of numbers closely, but I seem to remember the last NPD report having the Wii version sell something like 110,000 in the first few weeks of release. Maybe someone here has the full NPD numbers and can clarify?
3,582 games and counting! Pics of tons of stuff!

I'm sure I'm wrong, but I thought NPD only tracked retail sales?

This is a super interesting topic. I'd love to see the sales numbers for the game myself.

I'm curious how the downloadable content holds up in the market. I love the idea of it...

I believe Nintendo shares sales numbers of downloadable games on the Nintendo channel. But the numbers are limited to those users who 1) actually use the channel and 2) those who agreed to share data with Nintendo. So the number they give is a fraction of the sales, but you can see how it is selling in relation to other games.

Yeah, and for us xbox owners, there would be a huge difference between downloading and buying (it could be the same for wii and ps2 people, i just dont own 1 so have no clue how their stuff works).

I know that with 360, you can download the demo and then later pay and have the whole game unlocked. I downloaded the demo, but have not paid for it, so it could be possible to check the difference between downloads and purchases also

It's totally possible. One of the measures they use when judging the success of a game is adoption rate: how many people downloaded the demo versus how many people payed for the game.

And that's true for store bought games too. Of course a store bought game *could* be rented and not purchased, but you still payed money for the game after trying the demo which is good enough info for them.

Capcom knows how to make that money. They're geniuses.

Hopefully Capcom will go out and say how much Mega Man 9 has sold. They did it with Bionic Commando Rearmed, so i hope they do it with Mega Man 9 as well

EDIT: Apparently Capcom "only" reveiled the first week's sales.

Its been a while since Mega Man 9 was released, but hopefully we will get some sales numbers for Mega Man 9 at some time

I'm not 100% sure myself, but i think NPD only tracks retail sales indeed.

Heard it was hard as hell, so not going to bother buying it
I wanted to buy it to support capcom into bringing more stuff to wiiware, but I dunno.

It is hard and I may never play it enough to get skilled enough beat it, but don't let that deter you.

Its fun, very well done, and something I hope companies take a look at in the future if they want to revive a classic series. Worth $10 even if you don't intend to invest the hours it would take for someone not well versed in the Mega Man series to be able to beat it, in my opinion.

And every additional sale makes it more likely Capcom will attempt this with another classic series, something that may be more up your alley.

If I avoided games because I'm not skilled or patient enough to practice enough to beat them, I wouldn't be playing many NES titles and such...
