I'm not coming to the same conclusions. I'm actually not coming to many, because we haven't gotten anything substantial about the thing yet. Also, remember that they held back features of the Wii right up to a few months before launch. Who knows what they are holding back? What they did show was their software game showing potential for better form, that's the point I wanted to see most. Also, obviously for some games I'm sure you can use the Wii classic controller and skip the lap screen.
Best thing is, right as Sony and MS are busy playing catch-up to what's been done, they're moving on and bring their last emergent thing with for the ride. A+ on that account. All these things being standard while still being optional was important for the direction. It's ballsy, and I like it.
Now, they just have to stay the path and get more (3rds) on board... Bring some PS3/360 titles over, but resist the urge to go port mad. Just the key stuff, leave the rest.
