Wow, so much anger (possibly well placed) , but unless the store you went to is just plain lying to you and i can't see where it would help them in this case to do that, when the refurb cost is put on a disk (it will show on your receipt) that disk can not be sold through the inventory without going through the system and moving it. Unless the store is completely inept (which is also possible) all those games and systems are sent to corporate every week and resurfaced or fixed, random stores get them back through shipments. Scratched games do get by employees though and if that happens they basically have to be sold unless they are really bad.
Is the Metal Slug 4 & 5 game for the ps2, the same as whats on Metal Slug Anthology? By same, its not watered down, or changed at all?
I don't own Metal Slug 4 & 5 for the ps2 yet, and just wondering if i should pursue it yet, or wait.....
Well, considering that most of the discs I've asked about at all GS stores I've visited are full of scratches? Why are they charging a fee if they never fix the discs? Isn't that enough to file a class action lawsuit against them or something?
I have seen some horrible discs in my time, they just don't care. All they want is to pay you as little money as they can.
Ok, I found another MSA and this one didn't have the sticker on the actual picture sleeve(thank Paul). So after a simple swap my game is new again. But I'm curious as to how each store specifically determines where price stickers are placed. I thought all stores were to follow the same protocol based on corporate policy. However, it's very obvious that some stores are way worst than others when it comes to this practice. Atleast they no longer put stickers on the actual disc. Those were some bad times, even for their dvd movies.

Because it makes no attempt to be great, it is therefore extremely great.

Anybody know they answer to my question?
metal slug 4 and 5 are the same as 4 and 5 on anthology. If you are collecting get both. For just playing purposes just get anthology. With anthology you get all 7 games as opposed to just 2

SEGA!
I got my game today off Gamestop.com - the game was in fact brand new, but without shrinkwrap, and it had a sticker over the UPC (on the outside of the case).
Freakin' awesome.
Glad you finally got one, Kitsune. I know you've been trying to find one for a while.
Now, the tough part - tracking down the elusive PSP version if you're going for the gusto!
Currently catching up on PSN, WiiWare, Wii U E-Shop and Xbox Live Arcade exclusives I missed.
I didn't know the PSP version was tough to find, but I'm not worried about it. I don't have a PSP and I really just want to enjoy my PS2 version.

I know thats to be expected, but still. Also, while they have thrown some extras in the games, they took out all the extra missons and mini-games from the PS1 version of X and the extra levels from the xbox version of 3. But still, the games are fun to play and having unlimited continues means I can actually get to see the ending to every game.

I first played MS1, my favorite game in the series. Portwise, it was okay. The control lag is annoying, but if anything it'll force me to be even better.
I then played MS6. HOLY SHIT THIS GAME IS BALLS. I got so fucking pissed off when I had to fight that brain on an Erector Set body that was the second or third level boss. It's im-fucking-possible. It's like they're shoving the fact that it's a quarter muncher in our faces. That was the worst part of the game for me, but it got nearly as bad during parts of the rest of the game. There were numerous instances of "let's stop scrolling and kill wave after wave of enemies" parts that I didn't like.
I finally played MS5. No control lag, but I suppose that's because it's the same as the previous port in the two-pack with MS4. Is this arranged music? Because it really kicks ass. The game is good, and it's probably the best overall experience I had with this collection.
I'm expecting lag in 2, X, and 3. I don't know about 4. Anyway, lag in the best parts does not bode well for this collection. I should've held out for when I got a Wii and picked up that port instead.
UPDATE: I played X earlier, and it didn't have control lag. At least, it wasn't noticeably laggy. Perhaps 3 will be safe, too. 2 has always been laggy, so I'm not going to bitch about that one. I'll have to load up a ROM of 1 and see how it holds up. Maybe 1 was just laggy to begin with.
UPDATE 2: No noticeable lag in 3, either. What gives? Only my favorite game gets the shaft?
UPDATE 3: 2 and 4 seem okay, too. What gives? Why did they have to screw up my favorite game?
UPDATE 4: Wasn't expecting to do another update, but I gave MS1 another play earlier today, and the lag was significantly decreased. What gives?

I enjoyed this collection alot. Granted, this version is inferior to other versions of the game, but as a whole it's a great retail package.
