I adored Contrux when I was a kid. I loved them so much that I actually designed functional back backs (Grappling hook = black hook tied to twine, tucked inside a itty-biity beam, etc).

I even redesigned the one "space ship" on the back of one of the boxes so that the wingspan was so huge it couldn't fit through a door without tilting. They drooped like a bitch, but it looked cool.

Nintendo related to boot, I had built a "TV" out of mine and in the "screen" were the various construx characters recreating a scene from Contra, with some construction paper creatively cut up to represent the bad guys and stage decor.

All of this in hopes of getting my own TV and NES in my room as a kid. My mom didn't really fall for it.

Was fun times.
