    Default Underrated Super Nintendo games

I'd figure as we have a thread for the NES and its 800 game library. I'm sure with the SNES larger library, we can scavenge a few gold nuggets.

    I'll start:

Pocky & Rocky -Lovin' the game. Like an overhead contra except with cute, Japanese cartoons. Best played with a friend.

Twisted Tales of Spike McFang -Another niche game with anime-like characters (and I'm a sucker for them ). Playing as a kid vampire in training, you explore an overhead world relying on your hat-throwing and tarot abilities to save the day.

Secret of Evermore -Another one of Square's sleeper hits that still goes unnoticed. It had all the makings of a kid's imagination.

Seconded for Secret of Evermore. That game was fantastic. I don't know why it sold so poorly (or why there's this sudden "anti-Evermore" vibe online - the game did well with critics) but it's one of my favorite SNES games.

    Still hopin' for a sequel.

Oh, and it's too bad that Square scuttled the studio after the game tanked - all the guys went off to join Humongous Entertainment, where they made such gems as Backyard Baseball and Freddi Fish. Man, that's some wasted talent.

    Saturday Night Slam Masters!

One of Capcom's best fighting games in a near arcade-perfect port complete with 4 player multi-tap mayhem!

It's a shame the arcade sequel was so awful, I'd love to have seen this franchise make its way beyond the 16 bit generation.

I rented that every single weekend for a year. And then I bought it... and still play it to this day.

We had an informal "beat Frankie in Slam Masters" tournament a few Navas back ... took the better part of the day but somebody finally scored a pin and Joe gave them a T-shirt.

But seriously Capcom ... at this point I'd even settle for one of the Slam Master alumni in a Capcom "Vs." title!!

The Adams Family is probably one of the greatest "movie to game" games ever made. It's one of the first SNES games I ever got and remains one of my favorite platformers. The sequel Adams Family Values wasn't too bad either from what I played (kind of a spiritual sequel to Fester's Quest), but doesn't compare to the greatness of the original.

Oh Secret of Evermore, I loved you, yet at the same time I hated you. It really is one of my favorite games for SNES, but it has one nasty game ending bug in it and I was unfortunate enough to get hit with it. The said bug involved one of the boss battles, if you warp out of it you'll be unable to get back in the area, thus completely fucking you over if you decide to save your game like I did. This happens pretty late in the game, so needless to say, I was completely furious when it happened.

Still never had a chance to beat the game.

Can't say I agree with Ignition Factor being on that list... sure, nobody's ever heard of it, but it's a pretty ho-hum game (interesting premise aside), so I'd say it's got the credit that it deserves.

Not sure how often Gemfire gets talked about, but if you're into turn-based strategy games (and I promise you, this one doesn't get bogged down in being overly complicated) plus a fun fantasy twist, it's a great game to sink some time into. Love the soundtrack, too!

Another nod to ZAMN, and a lesser nod to Ghoul Patrol.

Total Carnage is all out fun. Gun Force, Magic Sword, Phalanx.

Most underrated SNES game of all time? Wild frikkin' Guns.

Oh, and I forgot Raiden Trad. It gets dumped on quite a bit for not looking like the Genesis or Arcade version, but if it was a stand alone title it would probably be on everyone's top ten list.

Rock 'n Roll Racing - totally addicting
Soul Blazer - one of my favorite games of all time
    Lagoon - amazing music
UN Squadron - seems to be quite underrated by many to me.

You know I just cant enjoy Total Carnage.......I LOVE Smash TV(Me and My bro wasted our youth on it), something about that game(besides its brutal difficulty).

Ghoul Patrol is a game I have to play, loved ZAMN.....and To this day I have never playe Phalanx but will never forget the cover(guy with banjo with spaceship in background)

You mean Faceball 2000, I think.

Super Pitfall(if it is truly underrated)
Super Pitfall was an extremely lackluster (to put it nicely) NES game. The Super NES game was Pitfall: The Mayan Adventure.

Now I wish I had something to add. Equinox, maybe? Or EVO?
