This list is pretty bad if you ask me.
The original Dragon Quest and Final Fantasy 3 even on the list. FF3 actually making top 10 along with FF10 making number one?
Tactics Ogre belongs in the top 10, but other than that, the list actually gets better than lower into it you go. The games higher in the list are fairly good, but definitely don't deserve to be up there.
Also
40. Dragon Quest V (2004, PS2 Remake)
11. Dragon Quest V (1992)48. Mysterious Dungeon 2 (1995)
86. Mysterious Dungeon 2 (2000)Dragon Quest 5 for PS2 and for SNES. They're the exact same game yet the difference in ranking is so far apart. It's weird, but why didn't they add Dragon Quest 3 for either the SNES, GBC, or both as they're definitely better than the NES version by far. Or the PSX version of Dragon Quest 4. Again, if you've played both games, you'll realize the games are exactly the same with mainly graphical differences.71. Monster Hunter (2004)
83. Monster Hunter Portable (2005)
85. Monster Hunter G (2005)
Mysterious Dungeon 2 and Mysterious Dungeon 2. Weird. I'm sure that the first one is Shiren the Wanderer because Mysterious Dungeon is the games name and it was released on SNES. Since I couldn't think of any other Mysterious Dungeon that came out in 2000, I looked around. Found a release for N64. I assume this is the exact same release just better graphics but as I haven't played it I could be wrong.
Okay, so then the last one. We'll forget about the fact that Monster Hunter G is technically the exact same as Monster Hunter and Monster Hunter Portable with slight differences. But what about the ones I just mentioned? Monster Hunter and Monster Hunter Portable? These games aren't just the same with minor differences. They're the exact same game except on a different system.
I honestly think those retards in Famitsu just took a bunch of popular series and threw them all in there and then added some truly great games. Everyone knows Famitsu is a company that works by being paid off, it's obviously they got some cash for most of those games on the list. Final Fantasy 3 would definitely never made it on there and if this was a few years ago then it was probably thrown up there in order to hype the release of Final Fantasy 3 for the DS over in Japan. Same with Final Fantasy 2 for the PSP which otherwise would have never even came close. I like the game, but it's definitely nowhere near the top 100 if you're realistically looking at what should be up there.
Here's something else.
Everyone knows how crappy Xenosaga 2 is. I don't suppose you know what score it received in Famitsu? 34/40. Gold. For that piece of crap? How about Dirge of Cerberus: Final Fantasy 7? This is one which the review was delayed until after the games release until it received a 34/40 and then you happened to hear people rant about how the Japanese hated it. I actually liked Dirge of Cerberus, but it's altogether got some fairly bad reception. The US version actually has a better version as well and it still got bad reception over here.
But yeah. Regardless if you remember the Dirge of Cerberus thing. Xenosaga 2 is just plain crap and where does a gold award come from for that game?
