Default Transitioning From One Game To The Other

Sometimes I find it weird going from one game to the other. I have a wide variety of tastes so it can take some time getting used to the feel or controls of an RPG after playing a manic shooter or playing a platformer after a fighting game. One time I tried to block an attack in some game by pulling back. ://////

I have more of a problem transitioning between games in the same genera, particularly if I've spent a lot of time with one game before the move. As an example, I put a lot of time into Sleeping Dogs, then started Saints Row 3. I went from something that looked, sounded and played great to the complete opposite.

The only thing that looks good about SR3 is the Tron inspired level where youre a toilet going through it.

If it's a game I've never played before, the transition can be tough. Otherwise I can go from one game to the next without much difficulty. Generally I have a small queue of games I want to play after I'm finished with the current one, so I give myself time to prep for what's coming next.

Not to mention that Hulk Hogan is the voice of the luchador leader. I need to play this game.

That kind of transitioning is what keeps gaming exciting to me. I have a hard time sticking with the same genre or system for long. Switching it up keeps things fresh.

I can't remember having trouble with transitioning from one game/genre to another; in fact, I often have a hard time NOT doing it. I've always been terrible at being addicted to MMO's for this reason - I always seem to end up preferring several smaller games to one continuous one.

And SR3 is indeed a completely ridiculous game, that only seems to strive toward reaching ever-greater heights of ridiculousness. It won me over in a big way.

I'm now in a bit of a transition phase myself. Just finished BioShock earlier today and deciding what to play next. I had been splitting time with Terraria, but I'm also considering another round of Civ V, or going through one of my baseball games, or starting L.A. Noire.

Really? Well, now I have to go back and give it another try.

Transition can be difficult so I (usually) try to stick by the side of a system for about a couple of weeks and play games on that specific system before moving onto another system for a while, but it's hard because I get drawn to certain games and systems more than others and have trouble focusing on one solid task at times. Transitioning from one game to another can be a struggle at times, especially if I don't want to play 2 long and involving RPG's in a row but one may be calling to me, but I guess that's normal when playing video games as a hobby.

The only hard part in transitioning between games for me is when I've put a ton of hours into a great role playing game and really built up my character. It stinks going to a new game where the story is new and unknown, my character is weak, and I don't know the controls that great yet. Then again that's half the fun.
