I meant to put it here specifically because the conversation about reprints that's been going on in this thread.
Square Enix just announced that they're cutting a bit of content from the main game though. They're cutting three specific areas, they're also cutting the Immigrant Town where you can build your town into five different towns based on the people you recruited, the Monster Medows which was an empty dungeon at first, but the more monsters you defeated they might get up and look at you after being defeated and you can invite them to go to the monster meadows which is like a zoo of sorts so they fill out this large empty dungeon, and the casino, which is a castle named Coastal, so the castle seems to still be included but they're getting rid of the casino portion of it.
So on one hand it's a beautiful remake, on the other, you could argue it being a demake. They say it's because they want to streamline everything, but Persona 5, the Trails games, Square Enix's own Final Fantasy 16 and 7 Rebirth. Everything is padded AF now days. Dragon Warrior 7 back when it initially released was a long game, but it was just that, a long game, not padded with bloated text, Ubislop fetch quests, etc. It's like saying "we're remaking Final Fantasy 4 and we're going to cut Eblan Castle, Sylph Cave, and Bahamut's Cave from the game." Now those don't have to be entered, but the games have real content, actual exploration and discovery, not "there's one of 50 radio towers, let's climb it to open up more points across the map."
