If people weren't talking about their copies, I'd be sure this was a scam. The contact form disappearing off their site? Incredible... I do not hold out any hope for my copy arriving.

The contact form has not disappeared, I'm looking at it right now. http://www.piersolar.com/ps_credits_contact.php

I haven't received an email or my copy yet. Hopefully will-just picked up another genesis recently that is just begging to play this

Hey Josh, haven't seen you in awhile. How have you been?

I just finished Pier Solar yesterday and have to say, it was definitely worth the wait. While I wouldn't say the game unseats the 16-bit classics of yesteryear like Lunar, Final Fantasy, and Phantasy Star, I can honestly say that it very well rivals them in quality, and had it been released back then, would stand alongaside those titles as a fondly remembered classic.

While there are a few speedbumps in the pacing towards middle of the game, they are easily overlooked by the excellent combat system and solid writing that really makes you care for the characters.

While I don't play many RPGs more than once, I'm already itching to pick this one back up and give it another go.

For everyone still waiting on your copy- be patient. The wait is worth it.

What I love, is checking the mailbox daily only to log in here and see that the people (asshats) who did receive copies already hocking them on eBay. Heres hoping to a surprise in the mail tomorrow.

Exactly. If you're going to sell it then make a thread in the auction forum instead of rubbing it in everyone's face here.

I pre-ordered my copy 2 years ago, I wanted to play the game so badly. They shipped the game december 14, and I still haven't receveid it.
But my hope is intact, just yesterday I received games that I bough 3 months ago, and in this case, I wasn't expecting nothing anymore.

It seems like the big holdup with everyone, or at least in my case is customs. Maybe they got supicious after seeing so many packages come from the same place in China. Mine was shipped on the 30th, and its apparently still in customs.

Just got my copy today. Had to go pick it up from the P.O. I spent the entire drive back trying to figure out who in China would be sending me something. Nice surprise when I finally got around to opening it up. :)

It's going up on Ebay now suckers...

just kidding. I'm keeping it. ;)

My game arrived a couple of days ago, safely and securely. I plan on playing this game in detail after things settle down for me. The quality I have so far seen in this product is mind boggling. I can safely say that the wait was worth it.

Wait, what? Did you order the re-issue and are just happy it's coming, did you order the original release but they sent you a reissue? Did your package get lost and they promised to send you a replacement? Your use of conflicting tenses is confusing.

I have yet to play the game. I sold a copy to a friend for $35 but I still have my own. I'm waiting until my CDX comes in and I'm almost to the end of Eternal Sonata which I wish to beat first. For the 2,400 copies out there I think maybe ten total have showed up on ebay, and one or two on here.

When my Posterity Edition arrived I tossed it in my CDX and X'Eye and played it for half an hour to make sure everything worked and the CD didn't skip.

Fortunately (or unfortunately as far as gaming time is concerned LOL) my son will be born on Jan. 24th so my girl and I are scrambling to get the baby room (previously my gaming room) ready.

So it'll be a bit before I got to put in a good gaming session, but I can't wait because what I have played so far is amazingly polished and quite engrossing.

Well now that I've finally received my copy, I have to say my only regrets are that I didn't preorder the Posterity Edition, and I didn't place my order sooner so my copy would be a much lower number in the print run. I ended up with #673/800 but I guess I should be counting my blessings that at least I was able to get a copy of the original version! This is a way higher quality homebrew than Beggar Prince was, and there's no way in hell I'm ever gonna try to flip my copy on ebay or anywhere else, no matter how much I could really use several hundred extra bucks right now. Screw profits, this is now the most treasured game in my entire collection. Excellent job, WaterMelon! I will definitely preorder any other games that you develop in the future, and I really hope the next one is indeed Super Thunder Drive III for the 32X! I don't care how long it takes, Pier Solar has proven to be more than worth the long wait, so I'm sure whatever your next project is it will be equally awesome. I hope that everyone still waiting for their copy to arrive finally gets it soon! I order stuff from China all the time, and it usually takes about a month to get it, so try to be patient. The delay is usually due to US customs, nothing else!

I’ve heard of that, and a ton of other Easter eggs that no one seems to want to share like supposedly there is a map/picture on the inside of some/all the boxes where the poster and stickers are.

As it looks now it will be a long time till I can see them for myself (Still waiting on my copy :() I wish there was more info/pics on each Easter egg.

I understand that and I love discovering Easter Eggs, but my 32x is packed away and it's a pain to hook up to either my X'Eye or CDX. It's an awesome idea and nice to see that the Easter Egg was implemented. However its just not feasible for me to currently keep my 32x hooked up. If it was rewarding enough I would dig it out but otherwise I'll just skip it for the time being and hopefully hook it up for a second play through.

I still haven't received mine and I'm definitely concerned. Moreso now since I emailed enquiries@piersolar.com (the email address my shipping confirmation came from) yesterday morning and have not gotten a response yet. My ID # was 1572, so I'm hoping that it's taking so long because it was one of the last to be shipped out, but it'd be nice to hear back from somebody in the know.

Here is a response I got from one of the team members when I asked for an update on my game, this should apply to anyone still waiting on their copy: "its possible that the game waited at customs for over a month, it happened to a lot of people actually. This is due to XMAS overload, they cannot process all the parcels normally. Its just a matter of patience. To send a replacement we need to determine if the parcel is lost, which is 45 days without tracking updates in "normal/non xmas" condition.
" Hope that info helps anyone still waiting and wondering.

The picture in question is hard to photograph without destroying the entire box. Pop the CD into your computer and browse all the files that are there. If I can find my capture card I'm just going to dump a bunch of screenshots somewhere for the people that can't wait/didn't get a chance to purchase.

So your saying that the picture in the box is on the CD? From the way I heard it described it was something special to the boxes only (it also sounded like it might not be in all the boxes) , but I'm only making assumptions from the cryptic talk of the Dev. team.

It's a picture on the inside of the box where the poster/stickers are stored. I don't know if it's exclusive to any one version but you can't see it without carefully bending the box open. Snapping a clear photo would require literally ripping the thing out because it's part of the box.

It's just a cute little picture and nothing important.

I received my copy, finally. Man, I really thought that I got screwed on this one. Not intentionally, but that's just usually how my luck works. It turns out it was actually being held by the post office since the 8th of January. I was out of town for a few weeks and they didn't attempt to redeliver it or leave another slip in my mailbox until last Saturday.

Honestly, I was expecting a more generic product, but I'm pretty damn impressed with this thing! I know that people who've received their copies have been gushing over it, but it's really all deserved from what I can tell.

Thanks again for helping me Zebbe, I really appreciated it. It was a relief to finally get word from someone.

I got mine last Thursday! Unfortunately, it was the same day my brother arrived to visit, so I didn't get to play much this past weekend.

Apparently, the copy that arrived was the one that go sent to New Zealand. The shipping label itself say "New Zealand" instead of Puerto Rico, so whoever made the label is to blame, and as far as I know, the PO doesn't make up and attach ink jet-printed shipping labels.

At least it's here though. The quality of the box and everything is ASTOUNDING. I don't think there's ever been a homebrew game of this quality. Seriously, only the Sega CD Working Designs games compare in terms of product quality. Kudos to WaterMelon for some truly brilliant packaging.

I do carry around quite a large messenger bag. But the oldest handheld I slug around Is an SP.

Spent 30min last night just opening the game. The packaging really is amazing. I slit open the blister from the bottom so that I didn't damage the Watermelon sticker, and could store the game in plastic for safekeeping. Loved the gold leafing throughout the manual, as another poster mentioned this really is Working Designs level quality.

Played the game for about an hour but I think I'll take my own advice and start a gameplay
thread.

I've had my prestige edition for a while. Yesterday I had a little bit of time so I decided to pull it out and open it up. Out of curiosity, I looked on eBay and saw what these are going for. @_@ I seriously hesitated and considered going with one of the reprints instead, but in the end did open it up and look through it. I can't really add anything others haven't said. The cart and disc both worked fine at least for the opening screens, most of the credits, and a few minutes of play. I've got a couple other games I still want to finish before starting this one, though. Oh, and I'd forgotten I was lucky #013!

As for not opening your copy I would strongly consider opening it here’s why. (http://www.piersolar.com/board/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=1474&start=540)

Well, I finally received my USA classic edition today. I opened it up, read the manual through, but there was no game cartridge inside! It seems like everything else is inside, but no cartridge! Everything was sealed before I opened it too! I'm about to cry. I was so excited to be able to finally play the game.

We apologize for the inconvenience. It seems to have happened to a few people. Write to fonzie asap (using the contact form on the website), he's preparing the replacement carts today, so that he can prepare yours as well.

I'll also let him know about your situation.

You could have just gone to the airport and asked if they could scan it to see if there was a little black box inside ;). It probably wouldn’t have turned out as well as just opening it but it was an option.

Joking aside I’m glad it was in there and sorry if you wanted to keep it sealed I just thought you (and anyone else) might want to see that before making that kind of decision.

If someone with an open copy can confirm the weight of the game including the cartridge, the rest of you could keep yours sealed by weighing it to confirm the cartridge is in there.

I didn't get a notice in my mailbox, which is strange, but I'm going to go to the PO on Tuesday and see if I can pick it up. I'm not celebrating until the game is actually in my hands, but it's a relief to get some good news after such a long wait!

Left the PO earlier today with Pier Solar in hand! :bday: I'm so glad it finally came! That was a painful wait, but looking through the amazing packaging I can already tell it was well worth it.
