Can anyone tell me how these were shipped and from where? I got my confirmation on 12/13 and have seen nothing yet. I know its the holidays, but I have received items shipped post 12/13 already. Just curious. Thanks.

They are coming from China. No need to worry, most people have not gotten them yet.

Ohio here to should get mine tuesday?....
what order number was your copy? did yo need to sign?

My order number was 492 if that means anything. :) I did need to sign for it since it came Registered Mail. It was shipped in a large envelope (not a bubble mailer) in the plastic clamshell with cardboard protecting it. It seems that it would have to be manhandled pretty good to get damaged.

Hope you guys get yours soon!

on Pier Solar and released the long-awaited game. We would like to thank
you all for your support and belief in us throughout the years. We
sincerely hope Pier Solar lives up to your expectation and beyond.

day. The design is an homage to the "black grid" layout.
*The manual, in English, comes in b/w and is shaped in the pure 16-bit
tradition.
*An awesome sticker sheet is included, so you may have the chance to win
our contest if you order quickly (please see on our homepage:
http://www.piersolar.com/).
*The price is US$45, including shipping and handling to anywhere in the
world! You can buy it now. Payment is made with PayPal only. We shall be
able to start shipping this ”reprint edition" within next 45 days!

There are only a limited number of copies for this new version, so don’t
miss your chance.

May you all find peace and joy in the upcoming New Year.

Happy 2011!!

Yours truly,

Not much. Ordering from places like DealExtreme helps me create a "patience" barrier that can last a very long time.

Besides, we've waiting so long for it to arrive, so a few extra days won't hurt.

Man, I am actually pretty sad. I was 100% certain I pre-ordered whatever the highest end version of the game was. I am not sure how I goofed up. I pre-ordered on Oct 12 2008, too (the deadline for P/Oing the posterity edition was the end of that month). The info on the net is spotty- but the posterity edition had extra stuff that I am actually pretty sad I am missing out on :(

I am as well. I am begginning to wonder if this "reprint" sale is nothing more than a way to generate cash for producing and/or shipping our pre-orders, sort of like a pyramid/ponzi scheme.

Ship our orders out before you start offering more!

And they expect us to get excited over their next yet to be announced project?

It's probably not so bad that you missed out, it seems some people are having problems with the official CD and team members are suggesting that people copy them to CD-Rs so they'll play better. It's supposedly a problem with disc drives starting to fail, but I can't understand why CD-Rs would work better than a pressed disc.

It is best to wait until January 31 to give it the entire month for it to arrive. Yes, the game was shipped on the 20th, but from past experience dealing with DealExtreme and NDSCardSale, I always give at least 45 days, in this case until the end of January.

I'm more worried about the game arriving intact than not arriving at all.

Iron Draggon: The game wasn't shipped the 13th, it was around the 20th. Those 20 days are an estimation. We can't make promises with bad weather, holidays etc. going on.

Well, this is the first I've heard it being shipped on 12/20. My email dated 12/13/10 specifically states "Your order has been shipped. You should receive it within 20 days." Now I can understand delays for the holiday season, but don't say it shipped if it didn't. Not once until now was I informed that it did not ship that day. The same thing happened back in October when I received the email that "We will be processing pre-orders on the 25th October 2010." Apparently it took two months to process my pre-order.

ALL pre-orders were shipped before Christmas, well before we announced the reprint edition.

http://www.retrocollect.com/Articles/interview-watermelon-games-pier-solars-developers.html

On 12/19/10, one day before the game that you say was shipped (12/20, as opposed to 12/13), you are quoted as follows: "Zebbe: The number of copies is currently confidential. Perhaps it will be revealed in the future. Regarding a second print run, we have a surprise coming in January..." While you may not have formally announced the reprint until later, you obviously had it planned before then.

(On my comment 'And they expect us to get excited over their next yet to be announced project?') I am not expecting that, nor do I remember we saying anything like that.

From the same link above:

Finally, can the retro gaming community live in hope that there might be another project from the Watermelon team in the near future, or has Pier Solar been more than enough for a lifetime?

Zebbe: Most team members are certain to do another project, but you will see that. Hopefully we will announce something new next year!An exclamation mark usually connotes excitement, but I guess I could be wrong.

This thread points to some very impatient people, delays in shipping happen and are out of there control.

I for one am axcited about another project!

I am not being impatient, Had I been impatient I would have backed out long ago (I pre-ordered on 9/3/2008, order #166). I am frustrated by the mis-communication and lack of accurate information that I have been provided as to the processing and shipping of my order. I have not had this problem with other developers (e.g., Super Fighter Team) and other pre-orders (Beggar Prince; Legend of Wukong).

Still waiting on #102.

Guess I will go ahead and start Golden Sun while I am waiting.

Good idea, since Pier Solar has shipped I've beaten Golden Sun 1 and have worked through to the second half of Golden Sun 2.

I don't mind waiting since I already have something to play, and since it seems that more people are waiting on packages than have received them I'm also not worried that mine may be MIA.

Yes, but we couldn't have used the pre-order money for the reprint edition for paying for the shipping of the pre-ordered classic/posterity editions, because they were already shipped.

From the same link above:

While I'm going nuts waiting for my copy (really wanted to start ASAP but I've gotten more games that beckon me), I don't think we should be worrying too much yet.

Even though it doesn't state it, I would think the 20 days would be days that mail moves, and with weekends and holidays, we are at what, 17 days at max?

I've waited two years, (#98 I think :D) so I can wait a little bit longer.

Zebbe
01-05-2011, 10:22 AM
"20 days" is just an estimation, don't look to closely at that number. We can't possibly know how long customs hold items in any country. Swedish customs have my package in case you are all wondering.

I'd just like to point out that we're only on day 16 of 20 in regards to shipment. In most countries mail isn't sorted on the weekends or holidays so the fact that some people are haven't received their shipments yet is nothing to be alarmed about. I wouldn't even be alarmed if receipt of your package took until the middle of the month, as I imagine individual sorting centers are considerably backlogged because of the holidays. Regardless, if you haven't received yours, it's most likely an issue with your postal service.

However, if you have reason to believe that there is an error with your order DO NOT contact us via the forums. While you might get a reply we can't guarantee that anyone saw your issue. Only contact us via the official contact form on the website: www.piersolar.com

If you received all the appropriate confirmation emails please be a little more patient. It's on its way.

And thanks again for your support :) We're glad you're all so excited to play the game and from the responses we've been getting it's worth the wait.

Got the japanese version today. Fucking EXCELLENT packaging. Built-in manual and a Sega CD soundtrack that lets you listen to in-game sounds and music in Hi-Fi from your Sega CD, while playing the game on your Mega Drive/Genesis. Cover art and the whole package was miles above my expectations. Totally worth the wait!

Also cool that I'm probably the only norwegian who has the game!

By the way, can I hook up a NTSC Sega CD to a NTSC-J Mega Drive? I have a NTSC Sega Genesis with the CD addon, but since the game is region NTSC-J I have to play it on my NTSC-J Mega Drive, but I really want the Hi-Fi music!

I may put mine for 2K Monies!

On a serious note, those who have received it, how was the packaging? I'm referring to that used to package and ship the game. Was it shipped in a box? Knowing China, it has to be bubble wrap, because at least Deal Extreme has a box phobia.:p

Not 100% sure but on the pier solar forums I think I heard that it's just the plastic blister in a bubble mailer and if you ordered multiples like 4 or more they packaged them together in a box maybe.
