Man, I've been looking for an x'eye for years! I have yet to stumble upon one. Nice find!

Man, I've been looking for an x'eye for years! I have yet to stumble upon one. Nice find!

I sold the last one that I had. I think that I will hold onto this one and maybe mod it for Japanese carts and change the LED to blue. One thing that I have noticed. Both of them that I have bought used had the foam insert in the CD reader. The first one I could understand since it came from a collector/player. The one I just bought, however, is a bare console with a number of scratches and stuff. Maybe the previous owner never played CDs in it.

Today's finds:

Manual for Monty Python's Complete Waste of Time (the discs were there, but loose, the stuff was all over the booth) - .25
XIII (PS2, mint disc / manual / insert, beat up case) - $5
12' S-Video cable (new) - $2

Didn't pick up too much today. I bought a loose Bible Adventures for the Genesis for $4.94, Mario Bros. and Submarine Commander for the Atari 2600 for 35¢ and $1.91 respectively, and Frogger for the TI-99/4A, $1.91. All loose.

I passed on a boxed Bentley Compuvision Pong console. The console and styrofoam were strewn all over the store and the box was pretty tattered. I really didn't want the beaten up console, since I already have a nearly pristine one. I just wanted the box, but couldn't see paying $8.98 for it.

Super Mario 64 - N64 - $3

Should I go back on Friday and pick up that Super Famicom cart?

Another good day at Goodwill. These were right above a bunch of SMS sports titles marked $6.99 each. I think some else was at the price machine today, as all of the Genesis titles were 99 cents each:

http://img205.imageshack.us/img205/9031/genfindeb9.jpg

Most are mint and complete, and even have most of the extra paperwork (posters, mini-catalogs, registration cards, etc.) they came with...including some Spiderman contest and subscription forms I haven't seen before. Pokemon Stadium 2 was 1.99, also from GW, and I picked up a sealed Xbox Dai Senryaku for just a bit over 5 bucks after the 30% store closing discount at GameCrazy. The Genesis games were an unusually high-quality pile for a Goodwill, as there were no sports titles, and the only ones I didn't pick up were a Mortal Kombat and Sonic 2....nice.

Morning at the flea market, went through the NES remains of my favorite vendor and picked up some commons and uncommons to fill gaps, $2 each. I also picked up a copy of Lethal Enforcers for the Genesis to test out a Justifier I've had sitting around for years, $2 as well. I got raked over the coals for Bad News Baseball and Sky Kid from another vendor, got him down to $3.50 each for games I rarely see.

NES - Bad News Baseball ($3.50)
NES - Baseball Simulator 1.000 ($2.00)
NES - Breakthru ($2.00)
NES - Ice Hockey ($2.00)
NES - Racket Attack ($2.00)

The guy I bought the Colecovision from two weeks ago was there and gave me the missing catalog booklet that he didn't have when I bought the system. He also brought the Intellivision he talked about earlier but to my disappointment the system was loose. He had about a dozen complete games with it in a custom wooden game storage shelf that held the games complete. He wanted $40 so I passed, I'll let it cook for awhile as the rains begin to roll in and then the price will drop. Next row over, five minty complete Intellivision games for $5.

INTV - Astrosmash ($1.00)
INTV - Las Vegas Poker & Blackjack ($1.00)
INTV - NFL Football ($1.00)
INTV - Space Battle ($1.00)
INTV - Star Strike ($1.00)

http://www.classicplastic.net/digitalpress/DP-Finds-2007-10-09(02).jpg

I'm amassing quite a few complete Intellivision games with no console, that was until the mail arrived today. I bought an Intellivision II console as well as a couple Gameboys from YoshiM, all in good order.

INTV - Intellivision II System ($8.00)
GB - Gameboy Pocket System ($3.00)
GBC - Gameboy Color System ($3.00)

Another pretty slow week.........

-Street Hoops for XBox (disc only): $2 at Goodwill

-NBA Live 2002 for XBox (disc and case): $2 at Goodwill

-Flying Nightmares for 3DO (disc only): $1 at Goodwill (I don't own a 3DO anymore so maybe someone is looking for this????)

-Rogue Ops for Playstation 2 (still sealed): $9 at Movie Gallery (already owned the game but it was an ex-rental so this gives me a NEW copy)

Picked up a deal at Goodwill this morning. It is a wooden case for holding NES games and controllers. It is one of those things with the sliding drawers. At first I thought it was a VHS tape holder. It came with 4 controllers and the following loose games:

Donkey Kong Classics
Mickey Mousecapade
Pac-Man
Paperboy 2
Demon Sword
Friday the 13th
Magmax
Who Framed Roger Rabbit?
Tetris
Super Mario/Duck Hunt
Super Mario 2
Super Mario 3

All for only $10. They also had 10 boxed Arcadia 2001 games for $5 each, but I left them since I had no idea if any of them were worth anything.

It rained all night so my Flea Market Plans were cancelled.

Decided to take a ride when it cleared up..Found about 15 misc vendors..
Overprised on stuff because they paid for the day there and weren't making that money back.
It was dead.

I've seen the same two stacks of NES games on a table for like two months now $5.00 each....It was in the past $5.00 & $7.00 each-depended on what stack it was(he hasn't sold none)
Today he says $5.00 Each or 3 for $10.00..I look through the two piles, pull out three games..
..He then tried to go back to the $5.00 each.
I said"so what's it gonna be,$5.00 each or 3 for $10.00"..he chewed on it for a few minutes then went 3 for 10..
I'm not spending $15.00 an three loose NES carts..I only bought these for $10 because two of them I don't have in my own collection.

Here's the week's finds.

Saturday, October 6:

http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j238/foxhack/DP/DP-06-10-07b.jpg
$9.

http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j238/foxhack/DP/DP-06-10-07a.jpg
The circuit board was yanked off a Power Joy III NES controller thing. The other joystick thing is another Famiclone - I had to clean it up a lot so the A/B buttons would work - but it's otherwise perfect. The multicart has a ton of Pirate Originals I haven't seen anywhere else, and a hacked up Capcom olympic game. The controller thing came with cables, but they're plugged into my capture card at the moment, eheh. $6 for both.

Monday, October 8:

http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j238/foxhack/DP/DP-08-10-07.jpg

XIII was $5 and was perfect. The 12' S-Video cable was $2, and the manual was a quarter.

Wednesday, October 10:

http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j238/foxhack/DP/DP-10-10-07a.jpg

Leisure Suit Larry 1-3 was $3. The seller told me it was $4, and I said "okay!", but she misheard me and lowered the price to $3. I wasn't complaining! :P The Super Joy was $1, and is the exact pad I took the pirate circuit board off of on Saturday. ;p I bought it because the pirate board has a few games that don't look right on my flightstick famiclone, so I was guessing it needed the pad's specific hardware. I haven't tested my theory yet.

http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j238/foxhack/DP/DP-10-10-07b.jpg

Bunch of software for reselling...

http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j238/foxhack/DP/DP-10-10-07c.jpg

Guess what the weird thing was! The items in the previous picture, as well as the ones here, were $31 in total. Why so much? Well, Visual Basic, Windows 98 SE, and Corel Draw will bring in tons of cash on eBay. Mega Man, not so much. Duke Nukem I got because I wanted to play it. I wasn't sure what that other cart was until I found this thing (http://www.atarihq.com/tsr/odd/scans/gar.html) at AtariHQ... Too bad it won't fit on my toaster NES without modding, and I don't feel like opening up my system again. Wonder if it's worth anything.

And you can imagine my surprise at finding a near-mint copy of Vampire Savior for the Saturn (Japanese version) among all those CDs!

Ooh, I've heard those are really awesome, and hard to find! And if I recall correctly, they're worth quite a bit... couldn't find any completed listings on eBay to confirm this, but here's an active one (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=330174247939) that seems to indicate you could sell it for quite a bit if you didn't want to use it yourself.

I sold the last one that I had. I think that I will hold onto this one and maybe mod it for Japanese carts and change the LED to blue.

Just FYI, you don't need to mod the X'Eye/WonderMega for imports.. the cart slot is already wide enough to fit them.

Tacky as all hell, I know, but I couldn't resist. The yellow is a little loud and green laces were included as well but I like them how they are now. Really comfortable too - glad I searched out the black Galaga style instead of settling on the Pac-Man or Starman ones that are easy to find.

Also had a pair of coin bins arrive for my arcade cabinet - no more crappy plastic tray or coffee can for me. LOL

Where in the heck did you get those shoes? And how much?

PRO-Keds (http://prokeds.com/) introduced an Arcade Series of their Royal Court line awhile back. However they've been pretty damn hard to find. Kotaku (http://kotaku.com/gaming/shoes/pro-keds-arcade-series-255473.php) had information last Spring which is what got me looking for them. The PRO-Keds site has them under different catagories so Arcade Heroes (http://arcadeheroes.com/2007/04/27/pro-keds-releases-arcade-series-of-shoes/) picked up most of the images and put them in one location. Crave Online has good pictures of the straight Royal Court line, labeling the styles (http://www.craveonline.com/lifestyle/articles/04647781/prokeds_arcade_classics.html) as well.

Ghost Maze (Pac-Man) (http://www.zappos.com/n/p/dp/26274568/c/116127.html), Power Pellets (Starman) (http://www.zappos.com/n/p/dp/26274573/c/114519.html), and Ms. Ghost Maze (Ms. Pac-Man) the lone female offering (http://www.zappos.com/n/p/dp/26696379/c/114520.html) can all be picked up at Zappos.com. Garden Gnome (Centipede) (http://www.amazon.com/PRO-Keds-Royal-Court-Garden-Sneaker/dp/B000RK87RG/ref=sr_1_2/103-9988618-8232628?ie=UTF8&s=apparel&qid=1192146988&sr=8-2) and the low version (http://www.amazon.com/PRO-Keds-Royal-Court-Garden-Sneaker/dp/B000SOJHGQ/ref=sr_1_1/103-9988618-8232628?ie=UTF8&s=apparel&qid=1192146988&sr=8-1) can both be found at Amazon.com. Everything else is hit and miss. Kotaku reported that Designer Athletic carried Hyperspace (Asteroids) (http://kotaku.com/gaming/obsessive-compulsion/asteroid-shoes-in-the-house-261194.php) but they no longer have them in stock.

From the above information and searching around one can correctly assume they've been hard to find. My black Galaga ones (Alien Arcade II) were found through a long chain of contacts. Oh, list price is $69.99. Let the hunt begin, hmm?

Also, I was curious so I put the green laces on. I think they blend better with the over all look and theme of the sneaker.

I did "read the damn thing;" I'm well aware of the region lockout on certain carts, and aware of it well before I ran a google search and found your site. I was speaking generally.

Here is the description of the Saturn ST-Key shamelessly stolen from the estarland website:

The Saturn ST Key or Multi Game Adaptor are region bypass devicess that plug into the Saturn’s expansion port, these will allow you to play import games from different regions on your domestic Sega Saturn. The Saturn ST Key or Multi Game Adaptor are incompatible with RAM cartridges and other peripherals that use the expansion port.

Picked up a complete/working adam's coleco computer. Came with Memory unit, printer, 2 original controllers, 2 3rd party atari controllers, and all hookups. Paid $20.

Here's the problem, I don't have any adam's cassettes or colecovision games to play it. Anybody have anything they want to sell?

Stuff I've gotten over the past few weeks:

Nintendo cereal bowl
2 Nintendo trophies
2 packs of Nintendo napkins
Ceramic Nintendo egg cup
Super Mario 2 View-Master things
New box of Nintendo band-aids
Sealed Dr. Mario Valentines
Nintendo Cereal System mug that you had to eat the cereal and mail away for!

Pic 2 is a very strange Nintendo chair thing.

Pic 3 is 3 of the BIG stickers I got. 3 more on the way.

Here's what I got this evening:

Dreamcast:
4x4 Evolution (complete) - $10

I paid more for this than I like to for DC games, (and I also own the PS2 version, where the only difference is the lack of online play, IIRC), but this was pretty high on my want list. It's also in excellent shape.
Imo, 4x4 Evo and its sequel were two of the best off-road racers ever made. I know I'll get my money's worth, as I completed the PS2 version and I'm a few race series away from completing the Gamecube version of the sequel, and have enjoyed every minute of both games.

Genesis:
Jurassic Park (cart only) - 50 cents
Vectorman (cart only) - $1
Star Trek TNG: Echoes From The Past (boxed) - $1

All three Genny games are going to be sold to a friend who just got a Genesis last week (I already own Jurassic Park and Vectorman, and have no interest in Star Trek). He'll be glad that I found some cheap games for his new collection.

The Star Trek game also had a Toys R Us receipt inside the box. Whoever bought the game when it was new paid $64.79 for it. Makes me wonder why the manual's not there along with it.

Since I was moving this week, I decided to take some of my extra game items to the local thrift on Thursday in a karmic turn, and I bought a few things while I was there.

Command & Conquer: Red Alert (PC, complete) - $1.95
Jazz Jackrabbit 2 (PC, complete) - 95 cents
Rad Racer (NES, boxed) - $2.95
T&C Surf Design (NES, loose) - $2.95

After packing and moving yesterday, I had decided not to go yard-saling this morning, but I changed my mind. I'm glad I did. This is perhaps my personal best find of the month. All of these NES games (excluding Ninja Gaiden) were complete with everything. So far everything appears to be mint.

Each of these was $1 a piece. ;)

Defender II
Dig Dug II
Legend of Zelda (Classic Series box)
Mario Bros.
Ninja Gaiden (the only loose one in the bunch)
Super C
Super Mario Bros. 3
The Adventure of Link (Classic Series box)

Oh, baby! Today was a great day. As some of you know, I never manage to find ANYTHING out my way. The Wife woke me up this morning and told me about a Goodwill nearby that was having their grand opening today.

When I got there I shot straight over to electronics. Hmm...Toaster, DVD player, VCR.....2600?!
That's right: I finally got my grubby little paws on a nice 4-switch 2600 and several games. For the grand total of just under $15, I managed to get these:

Atari 2600 4-switch Woody (w/ power supply and joystick)
Frogger
Pac Man
Ms. Pac Man
Centipede
Target Fun
Swordquest: Fire World
Star Raiders with Touch Pad!

Each game was $.99, system was $6.98

Today was a good day, indeed.

It was a decent day, I checked out a flea market dismorning (Saturday) and found 11 games I needed for the collection. Nothing rare or to amazing. But I was most impressed with finding two CIB in Jaguar games.

Anyway, heres what I picked up.
CIB, Atari Jaguar, Hyperforce, $5;
CIB, Atari Jaguar, Kasumi Ninja, $5;
Loose, Sega Game Gear, Bram Strocker's, Dracula, $1;
Loose, Sega Game Gear, Majors Pro's Baseball, $1;
Loose, Sega Game Gear, Micro-Machines, $1;
CIB, Sega Dreamcast, Disneys Dinosaurs, $5;
CIB, Sega Dreamcast, Plasma Sword, $5;
Loose, Nintendo, Mario is MIssing, $3;
Loose, Nintendo, Gun Smoke, $3;
Loose, Nintendo, Puss N' Boots, $3;
CIB, Virtual Boy, Red Alarm, $5.

It wasnt a great day, but it certainly wasnt a bad day. I was very excited to find two complete Jaguar games at someones stand, I had no idea what the games were about or if they were decent, but I snatched them up anyway. Then at another stand I was amazed to find a complete Virtual Boy game, he even had a loose console, along with a complete console. The two Jaguar games I bought were the first time I found any Jag games in the wild for nearly a year, since I bought the console in NYC. It's probably been even longer since I've found any Virtual Boy games or seen a console for sale in the wild.

Once I got home I torn my Virtual Boy out to play Red Alarm, its a throwback to the Vectrex I think. It's a sci-fi shooter in space kind of deal. But the graphics are all done like a wireframe, like the Vectrex graphics.

Now that I only need to find 28 Genesis games to have a complete collection, I've been playing, and buying games for all my other consoles finally. So it's nice to really experience the full potentional of the other consoles. Since I've been consintrating on the Genesis for so long now.

Yup, basically a full 3D wireframe StarFox, one of my favorite games on the platform.

Flea Market..

The first vendor I hit I think came late as the scavenger vendors didn't rifle through his stuff yet.
He had so much video game stuff that I was overwelmed..(PS,N64,NES,SNES,PS2,Xbox,NGAGE,PSP,DS ..Games I'd buy in a snap but his prices were way too high..(no haggling-no bulk buys
I wound up grabbing the three NES decks for $50.00(Box full)I left and came back to get them.
Truthfully: I really bought them because I know once the main scavenger vendor goes and takes his walk,he'll buy these up and put them on his table for $50.00 each..In which that just keeps the prices too high for NES systems there.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v21/Chris1/Pocket%20Bikes/AeroFighters3MVSPictures016.jpg

Next vendor over I find a NES system for $25.00 with Dogbone controller..(grabbed it)

Next to it a Halo Special Edition Green Console in box.for $50.00 ..
The Console is the Clear Green HALO Xbox console..The controller is just a regular Green controller. It has the Halo Not for Resale game included.

I grabbed it..I think it was worth it(?):? as most used Xboxes at the flea out of box are $75.00 +(I don't need it but I think it's cool..
I went around asking vendors today what thier prices were for the used xbox systems on thier table.,$75.00-80-90-95 with game-$120.00 for the dirtiest one.

I might throw it up on Ebay,I dunno..

I picked up a complete copy of Resident Evil, and a copy of Tomb Raider, although it was missing the "guts" of the instruction manual. Both games were for the Sega Saturn and only set me back $8 for the pair.

I opened up Resident Evil checked the disc for scratchs and what not. Then I opened and flipped threw the instruction manual and everything was fine. Then I did the same with Tomb Raider, but when I opened the instruction manual it was just the cover, it was like all the pages had fallen out but he saved the cover to make it look like it was complete I guess.

I pointed this out to the store owner and asked if I could get a discount. (Because he charges $5 for complete Sega Saturn games.) Tomb Raider was clearly not complete. The owner took the game, looked at the manual, he was very suspisious of me for some reason. Then he said that it was still "looked complete", and cost $5. So I took the game and put it back on the shelf, and told him I would take Resident Evil. Then the owner said he'd sell it to me for $3 instead of $5 because of the manual.

Has anything like this every happened to anyone else?

Traded 2 dreamcast controllers, 2 VMUs, and Sonic Adventure for a nice boxed Master System over on Neo-Geo.com. I had more DC accessories that I knew what to do with, and wanted a Master System, so it's mine :).

Today, I found a nice complete copy of Dragon's Fury for the Genesis for $10. Yes, it's more than it's worth, but I didnt care. The flea market was dead but for the overpriced vendors, and I love Devil's Crush. This port is the best thing I can get without a TG-16. I also bought Rastan for the SMS for $3.
Slow day, but I'm broke, so I'll take it.

Kind of wierd find at GoodWill, found a box of games for $9.95(wierd since they always price things separately). After grabbing the box a found even more games for .95 cents each and a different spot in the store. Sure enough they had the same "JM" written on them as some of the other games in the box. After geting home and looking through the box throughly some of the stuff in the box had indivisual prices of them as well....

Anyway, heres what came in the $9.95 box:
Mini SNES with docs
Two SNES controllers(one 1st party-one 3rd)
SNES AC adapter
SNES A/V Cables
NES Zapper
NES controllers
Another Set of random cables
Super Mario All-Stars(SNES Complete)
Animaniacs(SNES box and manual only no game)
Yoshi(NES loose)
Super Mario Bros./Duck Hunt x3(NES all loose)
Tetris(NES loose)
Chip 'n Dale: Rescue Rangers(NES loose)
Duck Hunt(NES loose)
King's Knight(NES loose)
Bomberman(NES loose)
Rampage(NES loose)
Hogan's Alley(NES loose)
Gauntlet(NES loose)
Bad Dudes(NES loose)
Magician(NES loose)
Wheel of Fortune(NES loose)

And games that were .95 cents each:
Win, Lose or Draw(NES loose)
Kickle Cubicle(NES loose)
Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure(NES loose)
Guardian Legend(NES loose)

First good find at GW in awhile, guess it made up for all those trips where I didn't find anything :)

On impulse I picked up an atari 2600 jr, taped up in a comforter wrapper. It came with 2 copies of Donkey Kong (1 for Coleco Vision), Asteroids, combat, and Ms. Pacman, and 1 controller. And as the norm with goodwill, no fucking AC adapter. This is my first Atari ever, so I guess I'll try track down an AC adapter and rig the RF output. Oh... kinda a high 12.99 (compared to the above post). I hope the thing works. Oh and I passed on 2 N64 games marked 2.99- Hey You Pikachu, and some sports game.

Update: Found some parts laying around the house and was able to scrounge up a universal AC adapter, and a few extra bits and pieces to form a makeshift RF adapter. Unit works great and is fairly clean. All games now work after a good cleaning too. Worth the 13 bucks.

Went to the flea market today looking for the AC adapter for the X'eye that I bought last week. Of course I didn't find it, but I did find a copy of Scooby-Doo Mystery for the Genesis missing the manual for only $2.
