Today's finds:

Flea market --
Polystation PSOne system only, transparent green - $1. I already have another one, I bought this one just in case it had new games built in!

Gamestop:
I went to the two local stores, and they cleared out ALL their PS1 inventory! I am sad. :(

I did however trade in two beat up games I had (Katamari Damacy, obtained in a GameTZ trade, which was super scratched but the trader didn't tell me; and Metal Gear Solid 2, scratched too, which I got off the flea market) and got about eight bucks credit. I was looking for something to spend it on when I asked the clerk if he had Ultimate Alliance GH around. He wasn't sure so he checked the drawers, and I noticed he had new copies of the Devil May Cry collection! I couldn't find that damn thing anywhere locally and was just about to order it off DeepDiscount.com... It sells on eBay for $45 for some reason, too! So I used up my credit and bought it for $24. :D And it was new, not gutted!

I then went to the other Gamestop and bought Wolfenstein and Under The Skin for the PS2 for eleven bucks. Both are in great condition.

Went to Goodwill today and found all the following for 12 bucks...

CIB for Genesis: Revolution X, Tecmo Super Bowl, Mortal Kombat, Pitfall (case and manual but with a baseball game), cartless Jungle Strike Box with manual, Pit-Fighter, SNES controller, Genesis 3-Button Pad.

Then I went to Savers and picked up 2 2600 Paddle controllers for 5 bucks. They also had 3 n64s without any cables for 19.99 each. Which is strange considering I've picked up complete n64s for 6 bucks there.

Started at the front of the flea market today instead of winding up through the back, glad I did. :) First was Sy the miscellaneous junk dealer. I went through a few knots of cable and pulled out the following items which he charged me $12 for, wouldn't budge, $10 for the accessories and $2 for the case...

GEN - Standard Control Pad
GEN - Six Button Control Pad
GEN - asciiPad SG-6
GEN - Multi-tap
GEN - 32X Module (loose)
GEN - Ranger X (loose)
GEN - two other loose cartridges, Championship Pool and a game I forgot the name of, these were traded later on
NES - Major League Baseball (loose)
PS1 - PlayStation first release RF Switch
SAT - Performance RF Switch
SMS - Control Stick
SMS - Power Adapter
Targus Notebook PC Case (not pictured)

I'm guessing he thought the 32X was a full blown system, oh well, I really just gathered up all the game stuff I could find. The SMS power adapter will be used for my Multi Game Hunter backup copier and that TG-16 from last week. (the one I'm using now is out of my boxed complete SMS - which I need to dig out again to put the other adapter away) While I was waiting to get a price I saw a guy with a Guitar Hero II box. He opened it up, not enough for me to see inside, and then closed it and pushed it aside. I went and got it, expecting it to be empty. However it was complete with everything, game, guitar, strap, stickers, all minty and perfect. When I got up to Cy and stacked my goods (I had gathered all the loose accessories in a box) he gave me the $10 and $2 price for the accessories and the notebook case. I set the Guitar Hero II box atop everything and asked $20 total. He opened the box, pulled it aside, "no, that $40." I really didn't want to pay $40 so I gave him the $12 for the other items and took a look at Guitar Hero II again. I offered $20, he countered with $30, which I came back with $25. It stalled like that for awhile, he could see the cash in my wallet so he agreed on $25. Cy can't resist the green. After paying he thanked me, which is always strange - it's like two prize fighters at the end of a bout, he lives for the haggle.

PS2 - Guitar Hero II (complete boxed)

Green sticker, my corporate retail years tell me that means it's from a Target reduction buyout. Everything works perfectly - strangely enough the booklets from Guitar Hero Encore Rocks the 80's are in the box as well - no game though. Have one you need the docs for or have one missing the docs you want to sell - contact me.

My friends that sell the Game Boy multicarts offer a 2-for-1 trade, any game as long as it's not sports, for its equivalent platform. I traded the two Genesis games from Sy that I didn't want to take off the cost of one of the Genesis games I was buying from them. I ended up taking a copy of Super Monaco GP and finally saved that beat to shit copy of Championship Pro-Am. Also got Rival Turf! for the SNES, a nice Final Fight ripoff I don't see very often.

I grabbed a loose copy of Super Mario World for $1.00 since I haven't owned a copy in awhile and my girlfriend was interested in the game. And at long last I found a complete copy of Flag to Flag for the Dreamcast for $2.00. Not only was it the first DC game I ever played and a lot of fun, it reminds me of the days when open wheel racing in America wasn't such a joke.

DC - Flag to Flag ($2.00)
GEN - Championship Pro-Am (Free - trade)
GEN - Super Monaco GP ($2.00)
SNES - Rival Turf! ($4.00)
SNES - Super Mario World ($1.00)

Picked up today
Genesis:
Gadget Twins (CIB - $1)
Wonder Boy in Monster World (CIB - $1)
Mary Shelley's Frankenstein (CIB - $2)
3DO:
Return Fire (C - $1)
Battlesport (C - $1)

Finally feels like the market is picking up a little. It's been awhile since I've found a decent number of games, maybe there'll be some good record finds later.

I did pass up on complete 2-disc sets of .Hack parts 2-4 that were $8 each, complete and spectacular condition. There were also Silent Hill 2 & 3, Wild Arms 3, 4 & F each for $5-8, all in great condition. some other RPGs too and I passed on all of them, just don't have the extra funds to rack up that kind of bill at the moment on games. :( Instead I called a friend and he's been looking for .Hack 2-4 for awhile and was glad they weren't so expensive as Part 1 was for him. Don't think he was too interested in the other stuff they had, but either way he's happy. Good times.

I haven't picked up much in the way of classic stuff lately, but I did buy a few of the games that came out this week:

- Phoenix Wright
- Castlevania Dracula X Chronicles
- Zack and Wiki
- Guitar Hero III -- game only, no guitar (yes, I know this isn't officially out yet, but I got a store to break street date on it)

I spent about 3 hours playing Phoenix Wright last night, but I think that today I'm gonna have to switch over to Guitar Hero for a while. ;)

Just wish those Genon boxsets would have pushed the prices for the original single disc Pioneer (I know they're technically the same company) Sailormoon SuperS DVD's down, still need three of them. Genon instead saturated themselves with too many runs of the exact same thing (I happen to think the Genon version of the single disc releases is takcy as shit compared to the Pioneer art) and ran the company under. Great content there though, except for SuperS but that's just me. ;) Excellent find either way.

Oh, and I know I'm way off topic but Sailorneorune, perhaps you can help me with this thread (http://www.digitpress.com/forum/showthread.php?t=108290).

Hoo-ha.

This is from last Wednesday.

http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j238/foxhack/DP/10-27-2007b.jpg

The NES games were $2.50 each, the Atari collection was $1, the other items were $1 too (Worm War 1 is up for trade.)

http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j238/foxhack/DP/10-27-2007a.jpg

This is from today - the Sega CD games were three for $10. The cases are damaged but the inserts and CDs are in great shape. They're actually leftovers from another purchase I made a few months ago - I paid twice as much for three other games. I sold them at a good profit, though. ;)

This, though? This is the highlight of the month for me.

Explanation: A friend of mine wanted a Gamecube. He asked me to see if I could get him one from Gamestop (he's in Mexico and works all the time, so he can't go to any local stores and buy it for himself.) Since this week's coupon was "Buy a Gamecube, get a used game free", I told him, and he asked for Resident Evil remake. I was thinking of buying one for myself too, so I grabbed another copy of the coupon and went.

After scanning the available games, I saw they had the two Zeldas... so I bought one GC with Twilight Princess, and the other with Master Quest. I then bought Resident Evil Remake separately. So I basically got a GC and three games for $60! I have to buy my friend another copy of RE:Make, but I don't mind. ;) The Gamestop employees were incredibly pissed off - they didn't want to go ahead and do this, since there's a "one per customer" limit. So I called my mother and she was there to ah, act as a second customer. Bwahahahahahahaha! Serves those pricks right!

My finds (PS2 games are from Gamestop, everything else was from garage sales):

- Ratchet & Clank: Going Commando (PS2. Complete, Non-GH): $15
- Ratchet & Clank: Up Your Arsenal (PS2. Complete, Non-GH): $15
- Microsoft Plus! Digital Media Edition for Windows XP: $.50
- IBM OS/2 Mouse Pad: $.05

I went to one sale that advertised video games, but when I got there, all that was lest was some copies of Madden (I wish I could find something other than Fuckinmadden...)

Yes, and no. It's more like $80... I paid $40 of my own money for one system plus a game, instead of the $90 they wanted, plus I still owe my friend the copy of Resident Evil remake.

I still paid much less than they would've wanted.

It had jsut been poster so I emailed asking the seller to end it early for 200 bucks... and got a reply saying that he would take 400 plus shipping... I counter offered again and We agreed on 400 shipped.... I also got a couple pics in witch you couldn't really make anything out... Well these were the pics:

If you look closely you can see some things that look pretty interesting... There seems to be both a copy of Peek a Boo Poker and Hot Slots in the auction... Needless to say I was excited... So I waited patiently and got the four boxes all of this stuff arrived in and here is a list of everything that was in the boxes:

Not many places to look for older games where I live now, but I didn't do too badly at Target:

Black (XB, PH) - $9.98 (might get returned)
Fight Night Round 3 (PS3) - $20.98 (it was mismarked, rang up at $29.99, but I was able to get it adjusted down)
Medal of Honor: Airborne (PSP) - $13.98

This is my 3rd PS3 game, and I don't even own PS3...yet.

My most recent finds:

-Star Voyager for Atari 2600 (cart only): $1 at my local game store

-Swordquest Earthworld for Atari 2600 (cart only): $1 at my local game store

-Vanguard for Atari 2600 (cart only): $1 at my local game store

-Bases Loaded 2 for NES (cart only): $2 at Goodwill

-Tecmo NBA Basketball for NES (complete): $2 at Goodwill

-NFL Quarterback Club 99 for N64 (cart only): $2 at Goodwill

-Nintendo Power Official Strategy Guide "4-Player Extra": $0.50 at Salvation Army

-Super Mario Land for Gameboy (cart only): got this in a recent trade with another DP member

-Pac Man for Atari 2600 (cart only): got this in a recent trade with the same DP member

-Motocross Mania 3 for Playstation 2 (complete): $4 at Movie Gallery

QB Club, Mario Land, Pac Man and Motocross Mania 3 were all doubles.

The game I was most excited to purchase was Tecmo NBA Basketball, especially with it being complete. Bases Loaded 2 is one that I see all over the place but $2 is the lowest price I've found it for yet and technically I "needed" it.

Recent stuff I passed up:

WCW/NWO Revenge for N64 (already own it), Jeopardy for NES (don't want it), American Gladiators for NES (zzzzzzz), Krion Conquest for NES (not interested), 3 copies of Mario/Duck Hunt (already own it), Harry Potter for PS1 (blech), Dark Stone for PS1 (have it), Incredible Crisis for PS1 (not interested), Pro Wrestling for NES (don't think it has aged that well), Jaws for NES (actually wish I had gotten this one now and it was freakin' gone on my following visit to Goodwill) and Sega Dreamcast Web Browser (ha ha ha ha).

I went back to Gamestop and exchanged Zelda Ocarina + Master Quest for Zelda Collector's Edition.

Why?

I didn't know Master Quest was Ocarina with remixed dungeons! I paid five bucks (the price difference) and got that game instead.

Haven't been posting my finds lately. I've had some decent deals, but mostly on pretty run of the mill stuff. Happy to have found both ps2 katamaris for 10 each) and a GBA player.

But I'm posting because I found this for 25% off 1.80 at a local thrift:
http://home.comcast.net/~evanwink/images/games/finds51.jpg

The cart is still sealed in the holder. Not worth a whole lot, but my first R7 (I think) in any case.

Today was a pretty good day. I got:

- Power Dolls (CD version 1.2, game in jewel case with inserts only)
- Gabriel Knight 3: Blood of the Sacred, Blood of the Damned (CDs + jewel case - which sucks, I was gonna add this to a GK2 I was selling and it sold while I was away!)
- A PSOne game controller (looks to be in good shape)
- Yet another Power Joy III (what? It was a buck!)
- A screwdriver to open said Power Joy systems (I have a busted one, I'm gonna pop it open to see if there's anything odd with it)
- Two copies of Christmas Nights (Nights into Dreams Christmas sampler) - one complete, one disc only
- A Saturn 3D pad in great condition

I also splurged and bought a Gamecube 251 memory card here in the local (Mexicali) Wednesday flea market a few blocks from my house. It cost me about eight bucks ($80 pesos.) Maybe it was too much, but it's first party. It had a ton of saves which hadn't been touched since 2004 - whoever owned it had games like Sonic Adventure, Smash Bros. Melee, Resident Evil 0,1,3 and 4, & a bunch of racing games too. I cleared them all, since I don't need or have any of those games.
