I actually had some good finds this week, I've been pretty broke so I could have bought more but didn't. I found:
SNES Bebe's Kids $3.13 loose at a thrift
Odama GCN NEW at Salvation Army for $9.00
Pico A year With Pooh complete for 1.50
Sega Dreamcast console all hookups no controller and loose Sonic Adventure 2 for $6.99 at Goodwill
Atari 2600 Encounter at L5, Bugs, and Target Fun .99ea.
Loose Commodore 64 computer for $4.50
Mega Man Battle Network board game $2.12
I found a few CDs too.
Been a fun week, now I can't wait until Sean's Party on the 20th.

Went to the flea market today looking for the AC adapter for the X'eye that I bought last week.
Took me two years to find one for my JVC X'Eye, at the same flea market I found the system at, different vendor.

Yeah, I went back to see if the vendor I bought the system from was there. When I bought the system, it was in a box with a ColecoVision, 16 ColecoVision games, and a bunch of misc junk. I had asked the guy if the AC adapter was in there and he said that it was, but it wasn't. He had a couple boxes full of AC adapters and junk, but not the one for the X'Eye.

Wow, I actually found something at Goodwill. On my 957th visit to Goodwill I actually found something! Well, I might be exaggerating a bit, but my god, Goodwill actually had some games.
Mike Tyson's Punchout (NES)
Kid Icarus (NES)
Bad Dudes (NES)
Ski or Die (NES)
Double Dragon 2 (NES)
Wrestlemania (SNES)
Wrestlemania the Arcade game (SNES)
Illusion of Gaia (SNES)
Rock n Roll Racing (SNES)
All games were priced at 99 cents, but I got it all 50% off.

Had some good luck running errands today...At an out of the way Goodwill, I picked up a CIB NES Cartoon Workshop for 1.99, and a limited edition Breast Cancer Ipod Shuffle (Target return). Brand new, in a giant blister pack, and marked $59.99, a 30% off coupon brought it down to $41.99, and with the included $15 iTunes giftcard, the effective price was only $26.99...sweet!

But even better was the Tele-Games Motocross console I found at a little thrift next to my last stop. Looks like it was never played with...console, controllers and book are like new, box is a little worn, $9.99. Fired it up and it works great, with the sound coming from the console itself. Brought back memories of playing Stunt Cycle in the arcades when I was a kid. Hadn't ever seen one with a built-in Pong setup...controller wires still have the original twist-ties! It will go great with my Tele-Games Pinball Pong console.

I picked up a few freebies Friday.
My parents' neighbors gave me a flat screen 35" Sony Trintron, not an HD but should make for lovely gaming on the pre-HD systems.
Also I picked up a bundle of old computer games from my grandfather who didn't have room for them.
688 Attack Sub
Manhunter New York
Manhunter 2 San Francisco
F-15 Strike Eagle II
Gunship
Pirates! Gold
F-19 Stealth Fighter
Robert E. Lee: Civil War General
Task Force 1942
Sharkey's 3D Pool
Backgammon
Fleet Defender
Carrier Strike
Falcon 3.0
Nascar Racing 2
They are all complete to my knowledge but I haven't had time to check each game.

No pictures, I just got back...
So. I was kinda sorta forced to go visit some relatives in Coachella Valley (about 100 miles north of the US/Mexico border in California) and one of those relatives mentioned us going to a flea market nearby. I found the following items.
Final Fantasy VII - misprint version, MINT DISCS, for five bucks!
Contra, Super Mario 1, 2, 3, and TMNT III (damaged cart) - $10
Sonic Mega Collection Plus (PS2, non GH) - $9
I unfortunately missed out on a SNES lot at the same booth where I got that FFVII - someone got there before me and grabbed it but left FFVII behind for some reason. It was a system and it included Super Metroid. Damn. Ah well! I was looking for a copy of Sonic Mega Collection, and this one is pretty much mint. So whoo.

Found a good slug of stuff today, my best single day of finds in awhile.
-Rocket Knight Adventures for Sega Genesis (complete): $1 at Salvation Army
-Chakan for Sega Genesis (complete): $1 at Salvation Army
-Spiderman for Sega Genesis (box/cart): $1 at Salvation Army
-NFL 94' for Sega Genesis (complete): $1 at Salvation Army
-Eternal Champions for Sega Genesis (box/cart): $1 at Salvation Army
-Jurassic Park for Game Gear (loose cart): $2 at Salvation Army
-River City Ransom for NES (loose cart): $3 at Goodwill
-NFL 2K5 for XBox (disc/case): $2 at Goodwill
-Shadowgate Classic for Gameboy Color (loose cart): $3 at Goodwill
Not only that but I ended up being threatened by a regular Goodwill customer (and known Ebay profiteer) for horning in on some of his "claims" (obviously I won). He picked a fight with me over showing up in the same aisle that he intended to keep all to himself, which led to the two of us cursing back and forth at one another before I shook him up enough that he left the store empty handed.
Note: He started the near-fight by trying to shoo me out of a long aisle, even though I was 7-8 feet away from him. Knowing very well he is unemployed, freeloads in a relative's house (despite being in his 50's) and lives solely off of Ebay winnings which he actually gets mostly from cd's and vinyl, I mocked the guy loudly and told him to "get a job."

From a couple days ago:
Rex Ronan (Snes) (game, box, manual, poster) - $8
Name This Game (2600) - $1
Whomp 'em (Nes) - $4
Time Killers (Gen) box and manual only - $2, it was supposed to include the game as well for $5 but the store couldn't find their copy of the game behind the counter so I offer a couple bucks for the case and manual seeing as I was just going to have to sell my additional copy of the game anyway.

Damn good day at the Tuesday flea market.
Started things off with a visit to my favorite vendors, only picked up a pair of loose Genesis cartridges for $2 each. I finally got tired of seeing that perfectly good copy of DJ Boy get rougher and rougher with each passing week so I grabbed it. As for Crystal's Pony Tale, rare is it that I come across a copy in any form. Adventures of Lolo 2 and Pirates were from another vendor, $5 each - hard to find titles. Lolo 2 looks as if it just came out of its box for the first time.
NES - Adventures of Lolo 2 ($5.00) (R4)
NES - Pirates! ($5.00) (R5)
GEN - Crystal's Pony Tale (R4) ($2.00)
GEN - DJ Boy (R4) ($2.00)

Continuing along a Genesis 1 caught my eye at the back end of a seller's spot. I don't need a Genesis 1 but there were some mixed games so I went in for a closer look and came across an Atari Lynx II sitting atop its carrying pouch. It had a copy of Batman Returns (big surprise, I know) inside and amazingly had batteries inside as well and worked beautifully. The only problem to me looked like it may have been dropped at one point since the two halves of the shell were split apart a bit at the top. I asked how much and the seller said $25 and that there was another game in the case. Sure enough there was, a loose copy of Basebally Heroes. I offered $20 and after consulting with another vendor in the same spot I was given the okay. There were another six batteries down in the carrying pouch and $20 for a Lynx II, pouch, and a couple games is a fair price in my mind. I already have a decent sized Lynx library and Lynx II system so I'm not sure what I'll do with this one. Possibly keep it for multiplayer or use this one as my on the go Lynx and my other one as my home Lynx. Or I could just get another copy of Chip's Challenge and give this one to my girlfriend. And yes, I corrected the splitting at the top.

Now heading up to the big Chinese junk dealer Sy's lot is always the highlight of the flea market. I've found great things here ($2 JVC X'Eye) in the past and I usually at least come across something decent. Of course there are also days where there isn't anything left but junk. His lot always gets rushed in the morning but finding the goods here takes luck and a keen eye. Many times I've looped back through a few times late in the day, when I was out there selling, and come across real finds later on that weren't there earlier.
It was about 10:30 by the time I got up to his lot, which is late in the day for anyone that frequents flea markets. I began to go through the mess of organized chaos that Sy's spot commands and picked up a DDR pad, pulling it closer for a better look. Of course the cord was wound up in a knot of other wires and the mass of cables flipped out of a box as I pulled. Like a fisherman examining his catch, I held up the DDR pad cord and surveyed the knot. There was a TurboPad.. no wait.. two TurboPads in the knot.. and a TurboTap. I then saw my uncle looking through the box that the knot had come from, he had two jewel cases in his hand, the top one I instantly recognized from the distance as Battle Royale. I caught a glimpse of some loose HuCARDS in the box as well and the shadow of a TurboGrafx-16. With the knot of cables still in hand I told my uncle "the whole box, get the whole box, I'll take the whole box." We pulled it over to the front of the spot and I told him "I'm going to start handing you things so my hands will be free."
Into the box I went, finding a bunch of TG-16 titles while trying to keep everyone else away from the box of random junk. The small stack of games I had pulled out was set between my feet on the ground so I could keep people away. I finally unknotted the TurboPads and TurboTap and sure enough there was a TurboGrafix-16 in the box as well. My uncle tossed the games back in the box when I started handing him stuff, not realizing that they were in fact the games for the system. LOL I retrieved them and after I had gone through the box, taking all the TG-16 stuff in my arms, I headed for the back of the lot to get a small empty cardboard box to toss everything in to. I flipped the games over so that they were back (flat back plastic) side up as to look less appealing and walked up to Sy in the front. I asked him how much, he told me the games go in the system and said $5. I asked again in amazement, to make sure that he didn't mean each game, "five dollars for the whole box?" He said yes so I paid him the $5 and he said for friends he gives a good price, so I guess I'm one of his regulars now. After getting home I laid everything out.

Releases that came in a jewel case I consider complete if they have their booklet and jewel case - I know most of these had cardboard boxes originally. Man did it break me to find that Moto Roader case empty, as in just the back part. LOL Anyway, it's easy to see that was a freaking amazing pickup for $5. Not sure what I'll do with the TG-16 as I have a TurboDuo and most of the games already. I've always liked the TurboGrafx-16 design though so I might just keep it for awhile. That is, unless I get some crazy offer. hehe Only makes me wonder if there was more there at one time. Everything came from that one box (which also had a beat to shit loose NES inside it and a couple cheap PC flight sticks) so probably not. I can't complain as everything works perfectly. No AC or RF but I have a few TG-16 RF boxes and I used a SMS power supply to test it out.

I got a first party Dreamcast VMU at the flea market for $3. There were some games, but the seller wanted $5 a pop. I already had most of 'em so I left them behind.
Then I went to Toys'R'Us to follow up on my seasonal job application. I had a $3 gift card thing from McDonald's, so I started to look at the games they had. (I was planning to pick up some clearance games for reselling on eBay, but they're no longer giving out huge discounts on them, blargh.) I was about to leave when I saw a bright orange box in their clearance rack.
No, not Valve's Orange Box.
I found a new and sealed copy of the Contra/Castlevania compilation for Windows. And it was about $1.50! They wouldn't take my $3 McDeath card because it had a higher value than the item's price, so I had to buy an ice cream cone. I ended up paying 70 cents for everything. Hee.
'Course, the game has absolutely no resale value. But it's fun to have a copy of this. ;)

Say what? I downloaded the program when it first came out (I know, I know) and it worked fine on my XP Pro machine. I haven't tested this legit copy but I don't see a reason why it wouldn't work. Did it give you any specific errors?

They aren't worth anything at all - in fact, selling them is not allowed on eBay since it's beta software.
The full version I can see costing $750, but a beta? That ain't worth more than five bucks.

my first rarity 5 in awile (raiden trad for genesis) didn't even know it existed on the system!
I recalled the wrastlin game being hard to find for 32x so I figured i'd grab it for 3$ (even though I don't really collect 32x) my roomate is a big wrastlin fan and they had a lot of figures with a macho man (his personal fav) but i had to buy the whole box to get the one..only cost 5..I don't even know who half the guys are ;-), the dreamcast gun cost me 50 cents at the same place with the samurai showdown 2 cab. overall a decnet find for me.

Yeah I sort of realise it's not a proper PC unit now, just renamed it "development unit" instead. I've seen the DDH, Jeff Minter had that while doing Unity. Just need to acquire one. And one of those red debug units.
I saw the auction for the ODEM cards, I was more referring to getting hold of one of the cartridges however ;)
As for "Orca", that's what it says on the unit also (I'll see if I can take a pic) and looking on the net, a few other places make note of it too...

Isnt the ORCA the motherboard in the GDEV or something?
Well, now you've bought the cheap part of the kit. The NPDP-Carts are more expensive than the GDEV! :D but then again you probably knew that already.
Strange enough, the NPDP-Consoles (the red units) are also more expensive compared to the GDEV. I think NOA sold the NPDP-Consoles for ~$250 or something, and the GDEV kit for ~$6,500....to official developers. Usually a developer cant turn around and just re-sell a "dev unit" for profit to collectors, but this happend with the NPDP-Console where it could fetch $600-700 a few years ago, and apparantly has no problem fetching $450 today.
And the DDH is probably the most expensive of them all, but I wish you good luck in your search!

Oh yeah I fully realise that. I really wish I could have made Jeff an offer for his DDH unit when Unity was cancelled but he had to return everything to Lionhead. And by everything I mean everything. Least I got to hold the thing in my hands heh.
My GDEV is a beta unit and has the label "Orca 1555" on it, so if anyone was keeping track of these things, they might figure out where it originally came from. The seller thinks it might have been part of the Acclaim liquidation but can't remember. He does have another GDEV in his possession. Not pictured btw, there was the USB2EXI adapter included in my purchase.
I'm fully prepared to pony up the cash if someone makes a reasonable offer to sell one of the red units, just a question of finding one going for sale...

Picked up a loose Crystal Castles for the VCS ($1), great condition except missing the top label. I had never seen one before and apparently it's common but the game looks cool. I'll have to play it sometime.
I also got a CIB Grandada for the Genesis ($1), ex-rental from Music Forum with some stickers I'm taking off. There's a fold on the manual but it'll be fine. Otherwise, good condition and looks awesome.
Finall, non-game related there were 2 anime VHS tapes I bought:
Macross Plus the Movie (Subbed)
Battle Angel (English dubbed)
$1 each, roll is looking great and expect some good playback, appear to be from a personal collection as there were a few other tapes on the shelf I already have or appeared to have been thrown around in the stores back room.
Not too much today but it's all good, only went to one place. :)
*Edit: Well, I tried to take the old rental stickers off Grandada and the adhesive molded with the carts front so some of the cover is now torn off. Oh well, at least it sill plays.

My finds from Tuesday until today. It has been a good week :)
-Atari 2600 Six-Switcher with 2 controllers, hookups and one dozen common games (most of them with manuals): $15 at my local second hand store, very good condition, I've since sold it to my older brother who actually wanted another 2600 badly in return for my investment (what I paid for it and nothing more)
-Blowout for XBox (complete): $2 at my local game store, a budget game but I've wanted this version (XBox) for awhile.
-Sega Nomad handheld in decent/good condition with AC adapter and (dead) battery pack: I had a little over $50 in store credit at the same local game store where I got the above game. Used it all on this. Wish I could have gotten a working battery pack but I don't like sitting on a "store credit" at any store for too long, there was nothing else there I needed and I've always wanted a Nomad.
-World Series Baseball for Game Gear (complete): acquired from a fellow DP'er in a recent trade, very pleased to have this
-The Majors Pro Baseball for Game Gear (complete): got this in the same trade as the above item
-Generic third party Game Gear carrying case: also acquired in the same trade, for now I am using this to store the Sega Nomad listed above until other options come along

All this came from a single garage sale, one of a collector who lives quite close to me. This is the second time I've been there for a garage sale; the first time I got around 25 games. However, he didn't have everything out from the house to sell last time. This time, he had way more, and so I bought quite a bit more. He's mainly into NES games, so most of what I found was indeed from that system. He let me have the whole lot for $70. I don't think he'll have another sale until next year, but I'm on it again when he does.

At the flea market this morning I found in the corner a new guy that I've never seen before. He had a mixed bag of tools, electronics and nicknacks, but also a fair bit of NES and Genesis games. In the very back I saw Phantasy Star 4. I'm not much of a Genesis collector, so I wasn't really sure on the value of the game, but I knew that it's a fan favourite franchise, a big RPG and that it was released at the tail end of the system's life cycle, so I figured it was worth something. It was featured quite prominently so I figured it would be really expensive, like a Square SNES RPG, but nope, it was $20. Having no idea of it's actual value, I grabbed it.
http://muonproof.com/archive/images/ps4front.jpg
The Cart is in perfect condition, but the manual and box are a bit water damaged. The box is really sturdy, but obviously not in excellent condition. However with a bit of cleaning I cleared up a fair bit of grime! The box is probably not good enough for a true Phantasy Star fan, but it's a nice bonus for a more casual Genesis collector like myself.

AFTER:

When I got home I checked the DP guide and ebay and I guess it's not as rare/valued as I thought it was, but it's ok, it's a good game, and I think $20 is still a good price for it.
