finished the medium drum career in rock band the other day. but rock band's not really a game you can 'beat' i guess. unless you have all the dlc and your band finishes the endless setlist on expert. in that case i suppose you have beaten it down.
now that i think of it, i don't think i've beaten any games this year. i just kinda bounce around between games.
Finished up Duck Tales 2 rather quickly while I was bored today. I've been on somewhat of a Capcom platformer kick as of late, I'm thinking of finishing all of their NES games.

Beat Contra III again. Also beat Bleach: The Blade of Fate with everyone in story mode.
Finished Mega Man 3 last night. I also received Lost: Via Domus for 360 from GameFly this morning and already finished it with 1000/1000 achievements. I'm a big fan of the show, but man I'd be pissed if I actually bought that game.

#7 - Super Mario 64DS [DS]
I found this in my storage and couldn't understand why it was that I never finished it. After spending ten minutes getting to know each other all over again, I suddenly remembered why I stopped playing.
What a piece of shit. It's a bad remake of a good game. To add injury to insult, was the premier game for the DS. There are children out there whos hearts and minds were crushed on Christmas morning when all they found to play was this......thing.

This is a great game and I can't wait to try it again on hard. I love the effects and the simple plot of blow shit up! Gotta love games that know what they are.
I've beaten Mega Man 4-6 over the past couple days. I was going to try and get through all 8 of the main series games, but I think I'm kinda burnt out on them at the moment.

Most of the games I played this year, I've played and beaten before. I did beat Hand Maid Mahjong earlier this month though; first mahjong game I've played in awhile that doesn't obscenely cheat. Also, the other day I dropped by a Play n Trade and wiped the walls with Capcom vs SNK for the Dreamcast...never touched a Dreamcast controller in my life, but utterly annihilated that game on my first try with no continues using Ken, Cammy, and Dhalsim...was good to see Geese as a final boss again (hooray, it wasn't Rugal!). Also, dropped by a Time Out yesterday and played Marvel vs Capcom 2 for the first time...the left side of the machine was a bit broken so I had to spend an extra token for the right side of the machine, then destroyed everyone in the game up till the final boss, where I actually had to spend an extra token to beat the game. Never played before so didn't quite know what to expect from the final boss, but after playing through the final battle (and almost winning it first try), I knew what to expect the second time and walked all over that punk collection. Used Cyclops, Cammy, and Juggernaut. "Behold!" :D

I loved that game, I adapted to the d-pad controls in no time and had a ton of fun getting all 150 stars and getting all the minigames unlocked.

I haven't beaten anything for a while because I haven't been playing that type of game.
Went ahead and finished Mega Man 7 and 8 the past two days. I've finished all 8 of them now, which has been my goal for a while.

I loved that game, I adapted to the d-pad controls in no time and had a ton of fun getting all 150 stars and getting all the minigames unlocked.
I felt that the extra characters and the tacked on stars where just there to artificially extend the game. Interesting, yes, but it didn't help the game improve upon the formula.
But to be fair, the mini-games are tops and the methods for unlocking them are interesting.

Finally finished Call of Duty 4 for the 360, and before that is was Battlefield for the 360. Like most here, I play the games for a while then move on - especially the PSP or classic stuff. I think I might try to go back and finish the original Sonic. I never have and wonder is there an end to it?? Anyone?

Well, I know there are more, but I haven't been lurking the forums like I usually do, so I haven't posted in this thread since the beginning of the year. I'm on a quest to beat 10% of the games I own for each system. I'm nearly finished with the 10% of my PS2 library by beating Without Warning and Medal of Honor: Frontline. I'm going to try and finish off Family Guy and Hitman 2 sometime this month. Those two will equal my 58th and 59th PS2 game finished.
I also had never played Resident Evil 2, so I spent my day off from work going through the first scenario of Leon's. Some great moments in that game, I especially like the part in the autopsy room when the door fell of the wall where are the corpses are kept. I had approached the wall slowly expecting a ton of zombies to come flying out, and then the door shutters and just falls off. That put a big smile on my face. Got a ways to go to meet the 10% quota for the original PSX.
I also beat Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney earlier this year and only need to finish two more games to reach 10%.
Now I just need to finish off some more of those N64, NES, and SNES titles that are cluttering my gameroom.

I just beat Super Mario Land for the Game Boy. Racked up 309,420 points, giving me three continues (which I didn't use--you get a continue with every 100,000 points scored), plus I had 15 extra lives left over. Mario Flies off with Daisy and the credits roll, but that's it--the game ends.

Pretty good. I've loved logic puzzles since I was a kid, and this one had some good ones. I missed two somewhere and there was one I couldn't solve even with the hints (the one with the chocolate valentine. I think I understand what they were trying to do, but I couldn't find a combination of letters that worked).

Enough challenge in this great game. It's definetly set in the 50's and has all sci fi references from that time period.
Next up DMC 2/3
Just finished up Ratchet and Clank (PS2).
Beat Mega Man X6 just now. Terrible game, easily the worst in the whole series IMO. I'm a huge Mega Man fan, but it was painfully obvious that the game was rushed out the door in less than a year. Shoddy translation, awful level design, and lame bosses all bring the game down.

I haven't replied to this thread, so I'll list everything I've beaten in 2008, which isn't much since I was ill the beginning of the year and didn't play games much.
Super Mario Galaxy-Wii
Final Fight-PS2 (Capcom Classics Vol. 1)
Knights of the Round-PS2 (Capcom Classics Vol. 2)
Mario Kart Wii- (Beat all classes)
I have much more to play and finish, If i can just get myself to play one game at a time.......
Beat Ratchet and Clank: Going Commando just now.

#1 - Atelier Iris: Eternal Mana [PS2]
#2 - Atelier Iris 2: The Azoth of Destiny [PS2]
#3 - Pokemon Diamond [DS]
#4 - The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past [GBA]
#5 - Atelier Iris 3: Grand Phantasm [PS2]
#6 - StarFox Assault [GCN]
#7 - Super Mario 64DS [DS]
#8 - Pokemon FireRed [GBA]
#9 - Super Paper Mario [Wii]
Honestly, I think I would have enjoyed a traditional Paper Mario game a bit more, but this was a very fun game, if not a bit short. All the humor and action expected of a PM game were present. Although, a greatly diminished item carry limit and less incentive to collect everything hurt the overall replayability.

Finished my 9th game of the year last night: Halo 3.
I didn't like the first or second Halo but I actually really enjoyed the 3rd one. It could be because I didn't go in expecting much or maybe it's because I was able to get it for cheap.
