Had my bro over this evening and we played through"
6/2 - Metal Slug 3 (PS2/MSant.) - must say this is my favorite one in the series so far...still have 4-6 to go through though.

5/9 - Metal Slug 2 (PS2/MSant.)

#1 - The Legend of Zelda.
#2 - The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass
#3 - Guitar Hero III (on Hard)
#4 - Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door
#5 - Advance Wars: Days of Ruin
#6 - Professor Layton and the Curious Village
#7 - Orcs & Elves (DS)
NEW
#8 - Rondo of Swords (DS). Boy I've been playing a lot of DS lately. Pretty good S-RPG. Nice fresh new concept for combat (instead of walking up to somebody and attacking, you have to go through them), but it wasn't entirely thought out. Healers and mages were completely gimped by being unable to move and cast on the same term (in fact, nobody could move and use a "skill" on the same term, or even use an item after moving), while the archer was by far the strongest character in the game - he can one-hit kill almost every enemy and has very high HP. Cool plot twists with different endings based on gameplay choices, not just choosing conversation trees.

#8 - 5/25/08 - Space Invaders '95 (PS2 via Taito Legends 2)
Great game, I loved the characters from other Taito games. Great graphics and fun to see which level was next! I was playing this basically to get ready for the new Space Invaders for DS which I definitely already imported the paddle controller for.
#7 - 5/25/08 - G Darius (PS2 via Taito Legends 2)
I wasn't sure what I was going to think of this game since I only played Darius on SNES. It BLEW me away, I was ready to play again and take other paths as soon as I beat it!
#6 - 3/17/08 - Super Dodgeball Advance (GBA)
Can't wait for the new DS game!
#5 - 3/09/08 - Touch Detective (Nintendo DS)
This game was great, I do not know why some say it is so bad. I beat all 4 main episodes, completed the bonus episode, and touched 49 of the 50 items for the touch list. It only took 4 days and I needed a walk through 1 part in the first episode and 1 part in the second and never needed it again afterward.
#4 - 3/06/08 - Sonic and the Secret Rings (Wii)
I didn't know what to think of this game before I started it I love Sonic so I had to get it. Boy am I happy about this game, other than a few stupid Wii remote control issues this game rules, staying up until 2:15am to beat it shows it was well worth it. Great game and first 3D Sonic game I have actually played all the way through!
#3 - 3/01/08 - Ninja Five-O (GBA)
I beat it on easy, it was still semi challenging, mine is a bootleg cart called Ninja Cop (I guess thats what it is called in Europe) I found at a Gamestop for $4.99 and I really wanted to play it so I bought it and now the save doesn't work and I didn't wanna play through half the game on normal difficulty today.
#2 - 2/28/08 - Earthworm Jim 2 (Sega Genesis)
This game was super fun, I beat it without cheats but used continues/password functions. The last level was pretty tough for me but wasn't so bad once I figured it out.
#1 - 2/25/08 - Summon Night: Swordcraft Story (GBA)
I beat this game making as many of the weapons as I could. Is there much to the story after you beat it or do you just go down further and fight more enemies? If anyone could let me know I might keep playing.

#10 - Super Mario Galaxy [Wii]
.....holy fucking wow. I came in thinking this was going to be another gimmicky piece of shit like Sunshine was. This game is beautiful, the music is beyond awesome, Bowser is finally back to being a badass and Rosalina probably has more personality that any character Miyamoto has shit out in recent memory. There are a few points where the cursor was less than forgiving, but I chalk that up to hardware and not the games fault.
Finished Bucky O'Hare (NES) earlier. That makes #86 finished this year so far.

This is a cool thread, but you know, I think what would be MUCH more fun is if there was a post "calling" the first person to beat a particular game from this forum.
So for example if no one has posted it already... "Beat Battlefield: Bad Company" would be fun because it would highlight the FIRST person to beat it, and anyone else could add on later. Naturally, this is only good for new games. Last thing I want to see is a rash of "Beat Final Fantasy VII", "Beat Super Mario Bros.", "Beat Sonic 3" and the like.
Just a thought. If anyone wants to give it a go, give it a go, let's see how that works out.

I agree with it being too short and easy, especially the short part. The Japanese version of the game has six cases, compared to the measly three in the US release. They apparently trimmed the number down so they could have an excuse to sell it as a budget title.

From what I've heard the other 3 cases are mini cases
Hopefully Akyss sees enough people picking up the game to release another with 3 missing cases included

So I've had a Nomad for about a year now and don't play it much... and I decided to bring it on vacation. I brought along Streets of Rage 2... and played it for the 1st time... and on the 2nd try I beat it. Of course I maxed out my lives and put it on easy. It must be a pretty easy game if I beat it.
Finished Arcade mode in Super Stardust HD, which is the equivalent of "beating" the game, I suppose.

Something worth noting, I got around to finishing Famicom Detective Club Part II for Super Famicom/SNES. I did the Tomato/Demiforce translated rom and it was a few hours well spent, I'll say that much.

1. GTA IV (Main Story - Revenge - 6/5/2008)
2. Metal Gear Solid 4 (8/4/2008)
Wow, I cannot believe how awesome this game's story was. This is the first
game in the series I have played, and I had to do some background reading
to understand all the references. It was just an awesome game.

haha reminds me of when i used to play alot of lineage 2 (mmorpg for anyone not in the know) and my dad would always ask if i had beaten it. I would try to explain how this game can't really be beaten which he thought was a pretty stupid idea.
Just finished Sly 2: Band of Thieves. Great platformer, much better than the first one.
edit: Just noticed, this was my 100th beaten game of the year. Man, I need a life.
