WELL. That was fun. Not as much mindless running around as the last game and what little there was felt much less like work. Another interesting set of items, as expected. Story is about what I expected (the Atelier series tends to not have the most amazing stories, just ones that make you like the characters and then shock you), but the character endings are a kick.

Found this sitting at the bottom of my game drawer. For some reason, I never finished. I'm guessing it had something to do with the slow as hell leveling, but, really that's no excuse. This is one damn beautiful game. Outstanding musical score and a compelling storyline complete the package.

Yeah, LO was actually the first game I played for the 360 (bought the system and LO, Eternal Sonata and Blue Dragon in February). Lost Odyssey is my favorite game on the system, one of the best RPGs I've played in a long time. It feels like a traditional Final Fantasy title, complete with random battles and turn-based fighting. Infinite Undiscovery would have to be my second favorite RPG on the 360, slightly edging out Tales of Vesperia despite ToV being a lot longer. I'm just a sucker for tri-Ace games I guess; the majority of reviews for IU have been way off the mark IMO, I really enjoyed it.

I finished Final Fantasy III (DS) yesterday. I bought the game on release day (November 2006) and played it off and on for almost the past two years. With all the excellent DS titles coming (not to mention already released), I felt an obligation to finish the DS's preeminent RPG grindfest and move on to other games.

I went into the final boss battle feeling prepared and confident. I ended up beating it in 10 minutes. Months of grinding for that one encounter and it was over in just 10 minutes. Fun game. Not the best portable RPG I've played, but definitely worth my time. Now bring on Dragon Quest IV (released tomorrow).

Not bad. I didn't much care for the anime style and Portrait of Ruin was just an overall better game (yes, I know it came after this one). I found the game was much more manageable after I figured out that rather simple weapon synthesis, something the game tried to over complicate with it's explanation.

After almost 11 years, I finally beat Thunder Force V on the Saturn and Playstation. Not only that, I beat it 4 times in a span of a week, increasing my score on each try, and beating it on one credit on both versions. WOOT!
There was a time when I though I would never beat that game, but it's my favorite shmup of all-time.

I also beat God of War 2 earlier in the year.
