Huge Flea Market...
very little in old games..

After DEEP searching this is all I bought..

PS3 Full Auto 2 for $15.00
Ace Combat 5 Controller $5.00(I have the game)
N64 $15.00
4 Pokémon card packs $1.00 each pack
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v21/Chris1/MISC%20PICTURES%202/Flea072408003.jpg

New and used Current system game vendor..He has TONS of Nintendo Wii games at $20.00 each New sealed..I was looking for Carnival Games.but it was $35.00
So I picked up PS3 Full Auto 2 for $15.00

Broken PS2 from last week was in a box filled with computer keyboards, wires and the Ace Combat 5 Controller..I didn't even ask the guy the price after last weeks BS price...nor did I really notice the controller..I though it was just another computer controller
Another vendor who actually lives down the street from me bought the box off the guy..I was so curious as to what he paid for it all..As he was unloading the stuff to put on his own table I looked at the PS2 again/he usually asks me what a system needs..upon looking at it I notice what the controller really was..He wanted $10.00 and I offered $5.00

.................................................. ...........
Boxed, missing flap N64 system ..$50.00....PASS...and he sold it.....
Real Dirty no cords etc,Master System,Saturn,Colecovision $20.00 each........PASS

GameCube Games
Capcom Vs. SNK 2 EO (Complete) - $2
Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time (Complete) - $2
Resident Evil 4 (Complete) - $5

Playstation Games
Point Blank (Disc Only) - $1
Capcom Vs. SNK Pro (Disc & Manual) - $1
King of Fighters '99, The (Disc & Manual) - $1
Marvel Super Heroes Vs. Street Fighter (Disc & Manual) - $1

First sale I went to which I got to at about 8:15. Everything was IAP I didn't even try and haggle has the prices were good for a yardsale IMO and I saw my one friend's bother at the sale when I got to it as it was one of his friends that was selling the games.

Einhander - .75

Saw a CD wallet at this sale that had a sticker on it that said 17 Playstation games and was marked $15 for all. I looked though it and was only interested in Einhander which was the last game in the book. I took it out and asked the lady about just buying that and she said .75 which I paid.

Diddy Kong Racing
Mario Kart 64
Super Mario 64

$5

Asked about Video Games at this sale and they brought out an N64 with about a dozen games. Wanted $20 for the system & $2 a game. I ended up offering $5 for these 3. It was kind of funny as they had trouble understanding me as their english wasen't very good. The guy went in and got this stuff and the mother of the house was basicly coming up with the asking price off the top of her head. At first she said 3 and put her hand up with 3 fingers, wasen't very clear I though they wanted $3 for everything and gave them 3 ones to which they were confused when I went to get everything and were basically like no no and then I ended up with what I did for $5.

Here are my finds for the month so far:

eBay wins - (I've won other auctions, but here I think are the best bargains:)

Crime Patrol $9.99 CIB
Time Gal $21.00 CIB
Jaguar XJ220 $.99 cents CIB

Various overlays for $1.99 to $2.99 per set, including the Mr.Basic Vampire Bats that I needed to complete my box.

I also ordered from on online dealer for $5.00 a loose Intellivision Truckin' game.It said that the game was used with instructions & I got it hoping it had the all elusive map to complete my game. They send me a NEW,shrinkwrapped one, which I didn't fully realize until I opened it up.I didn't mind, though - since it had the map. :)

Craigslist finds:

PS3 MGS4 CIB excellent condition $40 (about 3 streets from my house!)
Sears 2600 Tele-Games console with original power adapter $5.00

Yard Sales:
Not much - PS2 GHIII controller which I traded at my local Play-N-Trade for a complete Genesis 2 Model

CIB almost brand new Coleco expansion set#1 (Atari VCS) & Coleco Roller Controller. Also a mint boxed Vectrex controller.Total price: $11.00

But my best find in a long time, and how that helped me get back into retrogaming, deserves its own thread.(Besides,I found them in June...) Let me know what you think!

Gekido (PS1) - $4.99
Patapon (PSP) - $13.99

Nothing too special, but these are games that I've always wanted to play. However, I did see a complete Steel Battalion set for $60; however, I know that I would never play it more than once, nor do I even have the room to store the damn thing!

Playstation Games
Legend of Dragoon, The (Complete) (GH)
Spider-Man (Complete) (GH)
Spider-Man 2: Enter: Electro (Complete) (GH)

$5

IAP was $2.50 a game. I walked around the flea market and didn't buy anything at first but came back and offered $5 for these 3 game which the guy took, he was in the middle of talking to some lady so counter offering wasen't high on his list of priorities even if he would have if he wasen't busy talking.

Playstation Games
Metal Gear Solid VR Missions (Complete)
Twisted Metal 2 (Complete) (GH)

$8

I bought these two games at a different flea market I only go to a few times a year as everything video game related is pricey/expensive. The IAP on the Playstation games was $5 each I offered $8 which the lady accepted as I just helped her with some questions she asked me about Playstation backwards compatibility. She was nice but made it sound as if she took my offer since I just helped her as if she really didn't plan on taking anything less the the asking price on any of the video games they were selling which seems to be how it is with sellers at this flea market.

Its not the greatest deal ever but I'm glad I bought it since its so unbelievably hard to find any sort of used video games here. Garage sales aren't great. Pawn shops are overpriced and Video Game stores are overpriced.

But i walked in today (like I always do) and saw a Turbo Grafx 16 for 20 bucks...whats the catch? no cables or controllers. I asked if they might have atleast 1 piece to it, they said no but they do sell them complete, So I asked how much and they said 100 bucks. I figured I'd just buy the console only for 20 and ebay some cables for em. The console was SO dirty, I took it home spent a good chunk of time cleaning it and it looks brand new. No cracks, No paint marks, No chips, nothing.

so all in all it wasn't too bad. They do sell a lot of games at like 19 bucks a piece, I may take a closer look tomorrow to see if they have splatterhouse there.

Also this pawn shop in my area is selling a virtual boy for 50 bucks. Its cracked and has no controller though.

Find for yesterday...

Local flea:
Sega Dreamcast w/1 controller and all cables + 1 game - Legacy of Kain
Kid was asking $10 for it, I offered $5, he then asked for $6 which I gave him. System was filthy and he didnt know if it worked. Cleaned it up last night and tested - WORKS!

Garage sales:
Sega Genesis 3 system w/ 1 controller and all cables + 2 games - Racing games
Lady was asking $15, offer $10 - SOLD!

Nintendo Gameboy advance - Fushia
Asking $8, offered $6 - SOLD

Donkey Kong 64 - $1 - Didnt even try to offer .50 - They are good friends of my grandmother.

Atari jaguar, jaguar CD & atari 7800 system + Games
Jaguar games - Cybermorph & Alien vs Predator
Jaguar CD - Primal Rage
About a dozen 2600 & 7800 games including centipede, donkey kong, and others.
Asking $80, offered $50 - SOLD - BUT... When I got to his house he said he wanted $50 for the systems but if I wanted the games it would be more. We settled at $60 for everything. Even got some Jaguar book and a tempest jaguar music CD and some other promo jaguar music video CD(Says soundgarden and metalica are featured on CD).

Official Case to hold the system and Cd Add On in.
Super CD Card 3.0
And these 22 games:

Cd Games:

Gamestop is loweing prices on all the PC games nobody buys, mostly random FPS and such. Most between $5 and $10, assuming your local gamestop actually carries PC games other than WoW (like the recently built stores in my area).

I saw Two Worlds last week, $10. Didn't get it then, but this time I asked one of my friends if he'd care to play it online with me. After asking if they had more copies, we both picked it up. I got the collector's edition, same price. Not a lot different, but it comes with the "tabletop roleplaying game" which is just a book of (generic looking) rules.

Awesome deal on the TurboGrafx-16 stuff SONIKtheHEDGEHOG!! Seriously, you worked an incredible purchase with what the TG-CD and Super System Card go for these days, lots of excellent games as well. Makes me not want to sell my TurboDuo stuff now but then again, today's pickup is replacing it. :)

The following was at the California Extreme arcade and pinball expo, up for sale, and I made an agreement to call the owner in a week or so to finalize the deal. Well that week ended today and the seller was a class act, delivered, helped me carry it up the stairs, and even went over some setup and basic usage tweaks.

I'm now the proud owner of Galaxian cocktial table #0367, $500...

I picked up MLB Power Pros 2008 at my local Wal-Mart last night. They made a silly mistake...in the PS2 section, they actually had a tag for it that said it was $40 and I knew that was wrong...then I saw the tag they had for it was for the Wii version. So I had them scan it first to make sure it was a properly-priced game and it scanned out at 419.82 so I bought it...

Wow nice Galaxian... what's the controller though? Never seen one like that before...

The control knobs like that were only ever used on the Space Invaders and Galaxian cocktails. Player 2 on my table is a custom replacement that it looks like someone fabricated out of metal and then welded to a joystick shaft, then ground the whole deal smooth on the top. It works great and was obviously a creative repair but I'll more than likely replace it with another proper knob when I can find one.

I seriously hope your kidding!

Good find davey boy.

Woah, that's a sweet black box collection, evil_genius. They all look like they're in great shape too.

Been finding more at Goodwill this past month than I have all year:

Loose NES games that I already have - $0.99 each
Dreamcast with hook ups - $4.99 (my third DC now)
AD&D Forgotten Realms Campaign Set - $2.99 (I don't play so I don't know what I'll do with it)

And my flea market finds:
Allied General PS1 - $3
Atari 2600 Motocross Racer + manual - $5

This new indie junk store just opened by me and I found a Castlevania II Simon's Quest Tiger handheld LCD game there for $0.50 (already sold on Ebay for $15) and PS1 Gauntlet Legends for $4.50. I know I overpaid on Gauntlet but I got such a good price on Simon's Quest that I didn't mind.

Passed on a $5 Agetec PS1 fishing rod controller at Salvation Army that I'm now wishing I bought when I had the chance (gone now). Anybody got one to trade me?

I bought a couple games at a CD/Game Exchange today:

PlayStation:
Pro Pinball (complete) - $2.50

Game Gear:
OutRun Europa (cart only) - $2.50

These are the first games I've bought in a couple weeks, and they'll probably be the last games I acquire until the Portland Retro Gaming Expo this weekend.

Really happy and surprised what my co-worker bought in today...

MechAssault 2
Burnout 3: Takedown
Burnout: Revenge
Taz: Unwanted
4X4 Evolution 2
V-Rally 3
Star Wars: KOTOR
Star Wars: KOTOR 2
Star Wars: Republic Commando
Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath
Ford vs Chevy
Call of Chitlu

Got 12 games for $75 today as a co-worker was trying to get rid of them, he knew I liked games and collected so I ask all these for how much and he said $75, a big smile came across my face and I just added 12 games that I haven't had a chance to pick-up yet, not a big fan of Star Wars but I guess he was and looking forward to finally trying out both KOTOR's.

I was at a local grocery store today and saw a PS1 game sitting with the music CDs. I wasn't sure that I had seen the price correctly so I went for closer look. I ended up getting 4 games:

Jimmy White's 2: Cueball
Largo Winch.//Commando SAR
Power Play: Sports Trivia
Qix Neo

Now I realize that these probably never made it to anyone's most wanted list, but for the price of 2/$1.00, I just couldn't pass them up.

That's a highly underated game IMHO, very fun! You may want to try that one before you pop in the Star Wars saga...
