picoPSU-120, 120w output, 12v input DC-DC Power Supply 57.42 with shipping.
What does this have to do with video games?
This is my power supply I am using for my Dreamcast Laptop I have been putting off forever (1st paycheck from my promotion means I have extra cash to blow).

Yeah!
So I am going to get this working with some batteries when it comes and then update the pictures that I have done so far.
EDIT:
I just got my eyelids off of eBay for $45 shipped. This thing is awesome. Not game related, but I somehow got a 10% off, so I got it for 40.50.
I will post before and after what the headlights look like. These things are just sick, seriously.

The JVC X'Eye branded controller is a standard three-button Genesis control pad with "JVC" printed in the center where the Genesis logo usually is. Yes, the system is a Sega Genesis and Sega CD in one that uses one power adapter. That's the kicker, make sure it has the correct power adapter, not a Genesis 2 power adapter that's being used in it's place. (the Genny 2 adapter will get most of them to work but outputs too little amperage) The correct power adapter will say JVC on it, but any adapter 10V or so outputting at least 1.5A will work fine.
The additionall perks outside of having the two systems in one is that the cartridge slot is wide enough to accommodate JPN Mega Drive cartridges (some will still be region locked and require a region mod). Also most versions of the X'Eye have standard composite RCA jacks for video and audio. The CD drive also seems to load up faster and all around the system tends to be better manufactured and run smoother than a vanilla Genesis setup.
If it has the adapter and is working I'd say $50.00 is a fine price.
Great Info. I wonder why the adapter is never seems to stay with this system? LOL Reading on the net there seems to be a quite a few in the same boat. I picked it up it had a sega model 2 adapter.LOL Overall the unit looks clean. Could be dusted up for shelf. I was looking around on the net and the cdx adapter had these specs would this work?
Model # MK-4122
Input: 120 V AC 60 Hz 23 Watt
Output: 9.5 V DC 1.5 amp

Yes, the CDX and the JVC X'Eye use the same spec power adapter. What's odd is there seems to be a healthy surplus of CDX adapters out there for less than $10.00.

Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego? (New Edition)

I picked up Philip José Farmer’s Riverworld hoping for a neat adventure game but MobyGames told me otherwise, so I'll probably just keep it sealed for now.

Goodwill games part of two $50 lots, each with a Gameboy and added accessories. I was there as the dude was putting them out. So after he told me the prices I said: "bitch, don't make me pimp slap you with my strong hand. Lower those prices." Fifthteen minutes later, after he stopped laughing at me he finally said he'd lower it to $2 a game. So I took the good stuff and left the other 7 games(3 of which were Tetris). Then when I was paying for them(he wasn't a cashier, just a price dude) I whipped out my 20% discount coupon and he looked at me and said "man, you are cheap". All I could do was laugh and agree:) So Super Mario Land 1+2, Yoshi, Spider-Man 2 and Wizards and Warriors X for $8.

Raining pretty good out this morning but I went out just after 10 anyways to the two yardsales nearby today since yardsale season is practically done and I won't be seeing many more sales till next spring. First sale had some typical stuff Steering Wheel Controller & a GBC system pouch which I've seen the exact same one of before at yardsales, funny thing is it always seems as if I just see the pouch by itself when I see one and not wth a system and a few games in it lol They also had a Cabela's Hunting game for the 360 marked at way too much ($20), seemed like a case of people not really knowing how current gen (or even last gen) games will usually depreciate compared to what it originally retails for new. When I asked about games they mentioned selling off some older Nintendo stuff last year.
http://img66.imageshack.us/img66/5925/yardsale102508aj6.th.jpg (http://img66.imageshack.us/my.php?image=yardsale102508aj6.jpg)http://img66.imageshack.us/images/thpix.gif (http://g.imageshack.us/thpix.php)
GameBoy Brick System with Earphones, System Link Cable, Light Boy, Manual & carrying case
Games (All with case & manual)
Dr Mario
Final Fantasy Adventure (With Map)
Kirby's Dream Land
Metroid II Return of Samus
Super Mario Land
Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins
Tetris
Empty case & Adventure Island Manual (which I'm guessing would be in the empty case if it wasen't missing)
$20
Second sale was just out of town and I didn't see anything of interest but asked about old Nintendo games to which the lady mentioned having an old GameBoy with 7 games that she wasen't sure about bringing out and mentioned that she was going to sell on eBay and figured she'd get $25ish for at least, I politely said that it might not even be worth that (being honest with her) picturing most of these seven games being fairly common and not in demand. She brought it out and showed it to me and I offered $20 for it mentioning that it would save her the trouble of selling it online which she was a good sport about even if it was abit under what she was hoping to get and was nice about.
Obviously this wasen't a killer yardsale price but when I saw the manuals (mostly with Final Fantasy Adventure & the map) and that every game was good it was worth paying up a bit more to me as long has it was still a good price. Afterwards I was thinking I might have been able to get her to begrudgingly take $15 but it didn't seem worth the risk/hassle to me when I was thinking it over quickly at the sale. I actually over heard (while I was looking at the GameBoy stuff) somebody offer $25 for a chair to one of the other ladies running this sale to which she politely declined and mentioned that she wanted to get $40 at least for it (I didn't take notice to how nice the chair was and what the asking price was on it). I sensed that if I tried opening with $5 or $10 for this that it would have been either flat out shot down (if offended) or countered with a price more in the range of what I paid.

Yet another new flea market this weekend, I think my family has done every one in the area now.
In other news... I found the right way to smack my $2 TV to get the color fixed!
http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3242/2972770288_b308263024_b.jpg
Metal Gear - $6.99
Star Soldier - $3.00
Little Nemo: The Dream Master - $3.00
Dr. Chaos - $3.00
Vortex - $5.00
Drakkhen - $5.00
All of that stuff from the same shop. Every flea market seems to have at least one specialized game shop, and this was it. Amazingly, there were several "FYE-like" shops with games, music, and movies, but they were priced a bit higher. This guy had a $5 Dreamcast rack (good stuff, too), $5 SNES case, and a huge $3 NES shelf, in addition to reasonably priced stuff behind counters. His business card says he's an FC Twin distributor, and I think he said he's getting the new ones when they come out.
Also, not pictured, a CD cleaner/repairer for $5. It's chinese, but the cleaning disks come in nice plastic cases, includes a bottle of cleaning fluid and repair fluid. No A/C adaptor, but it has a plug and also runs on 4x AAAs.

Flea Market
Few vendors here and there,Bad Weather,High Winds,Collateral Damage from High winds via getting hit in the head from items flying off the tables..Lots of breakage today..
NES Deck with Plug $5.00
Lego Stuff $5.00
K'Nex Roller Coaster Set(sealed-new) $10.00..it's so heavy
Movie CARS $6.00
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v21/Chris1/MISC%20PICTURES%202/FLEA102508006.jpg
The NES deck has a story behind it..It was on a table between two vendors with a Playstation and N64 Deck,Bare decks no hook ups.controllers or anything.
All the hook ups controllers, games were with the vendor on the right..You'd buy the bare system for $5.00 and the vendor to the left would lead you over to the vendor on the right to buy it's connections.."but" the hook-ups,controllers,games were HIGH Priced.
These two vendors had something going on where the first one tried to force lure you in by selling you the system cheap but then hoping to burn you in price on the rest of it.
So I grabbed the NES and it had it's plug, they forgot to seperate it as they had just set this up..I paid for it and bagged it up as the vendor on the left practically pulled me over to the vendor on the right.(playing stupid)
So I figure,Ok..since the systems are $5.00 each everything else should be fairly cheap.
SMB $10.00 other common games $10.00 each
NES Controllers $5.00 Each
RF switch $7.00
................
The N64
$8.00 each controller
Games $10.00 each
Power Supply $5.00(yea they pulled it off
RF type TV connector $5.00
PS
$5.00 each controller
AC plug $5.00 WHAT
AV $5.00
Games $10-15.00 each depending on title..
So I left and I think I Ruined thier plans as I now had the NES deck and they still were stuck with the parts and games for it.
I passed around later and the vendor to the right then had the playstation and N64 on his side trying to match everything back up.(cleaning the gunk out of the N64
He asked. Why don't you buy this stuff off me..I told him..Not for the prices you want. It's not worth it..
So I asked again,How much are the NES controllers..$5.00 each,I offered $2.00 and he didn't go for it.
$35.00 for the gunk filled N64...He laughed as he cleaned it noting that he'll sell it..
The fitst thing I saw when I got there was a nice looking Motorcycle Helmet..I like to buy helmets that match the paint scemes on my pocketbikes.
So I asked how much for the used helmet..$100.00 and that HE could sell it on eBay for $200.00
Soooo Go sell it on ebay then...

What? Are you kidding? I know that Day of the Tentacle can fetch a bit of money on ebay (with box, though) but I had no idea about the other ones. Care to fill me in? Also, Black Dahlia is a "PC Best Buy" edition (budget title) so would that affect the price?

It's really a way of mouth and lots of searching the Web. There are some collector boards out there for PC games but no significant rarity guides that I know of.
In other news, I picked up a few games for once. One of the local stores is expanding their location and have most of their games for 50% off. They have games like FF III and Secret of Mana for $20 with the discount, so nothing in high value to pick up as a deal. I did grab:
NES:
Legendary Wings (L - $2)
Shinobi (L - $2.50)
SNES:
First Samurai (CIB - $10)
Still nothing terribly insane but out of the selection that's what I decided to grab. On a side-note, my 5000th post is in the finds thread.

I was mistaken - Soul Reaver 2 is incredibly rare and sought after. Apparently it was not going to be released at all but enough people complained so a small print run was made.
Black Dahlia is somewhat rare and I've -heard- it's worth quite a bit. I've only found it once and the seller wanted $20 for it because it had eight discs. I wouldn't pay more than $5 for it, myself.
As for a rarity guide... well, I don't know of any. I just sell crap on eBay. Every once in a while I see something that's worth money and makes me go "What?".

Picked up a few things today, and got something in the mail.
Dick Tracy (VHS)-$3
Rocket Knight Adventures (loose)-$3
Bram Stoker's Dracula (Sega CD, complete)-$3
This store seems to price the stuff they want to get rid of at $3. :p
I got the European version of Crackout on NES in the mail today, works just fine.
Also, wanted to get Michael Jackson's Moonwalker on Genesis and got optimistic when I saw the box on the shelf, but when I took it up to the counter, they didn't have it.

This finally came!!! (on Friday). I ordered this during their promotion (on 06.23.08 @ about 2.30 pm), and after delays and who knows what, it finally came!!!!
http://home.comcast.net/~evanwink/images/games/Finds/finds124.jpg
...of course, I actually ordered two copies since I wanted one for a gift and they only sent me one (GRRRRR!). But I called and their records showed I ordered 2 and they only shipped me one, so it is supposed to be taken care of. The gift is a little (okay, a LOT) late by now.
On friday I also picked up a complete big box PC copy of Space Quest 6.

After a bit of a dry spell, had a decent find at Goodwill this morning. There was a bag at the bottom of the locked case with a bunch of black wires and plastic in it. The only thing I could make out was a 2600 joystick at the top. I had them get it out of the case, and it turns out the joystick was the plug and play version with the built-in games. The other items in the bag were also made by Atari, but a bit nicer in my opinion:

$14.99 went down to $13.50 with a 10% halloween coupon, plus everything is clean, in good shape, and works great.

I got a Japanese Wii for my birthday today! It is quite awesome, but I do not have any games for it. My Japanese GC games play fine on it, though.
Play-Asia even included a package of Ramune-style candy in the shipping box.
Besides that, I was also supposed to get the original version of Silhouette Mirage for the Saturn today, but it did not come yet. It would have been bought with my Wii, but PA did not get it until AFTER the Wii was ordered.
I'll post some pics after SM arrives on Monday. :)

I've picked some pretty decent stuff over the past couple of days.
Yesterday I found a Game Boy Player for my 'Cube for $25. It was bit dusty inside the cartridge slot, but I cleaned it out and it works great! I'm impressed at how good my GBA games look on the big screen! It also makes it a lot easier to play my original GB & GBC games. (No more hard to see screens!)
Today I picked up some stuff from a Craigslist deal that I'm pretty pleased with.
The OFFICIAL Nintendo strategy guides for Donkey Kong 64, Banjo-Tooie, and Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga. The price? $3 each! :D
I also got another addition for my Sonic collection. It a cute book called "How to Draw Sonic and the Gang". Price: $4
And finally, I got a mint & complete copy of Rocket Knight Adventures for my Genesis. (It's includes the manual, registration card, and Konomi poster with their other releases.) Price: $10
The woman I met up with said her husband was big games collector when he was younger. But now they don't have much room left in their house, so they decided to sell a bunch of stuff to clear some space.

My pick ups at the flea market today were ok.
Ratchet And Clank: Size Matters (complete) - $5
It was priced at 6 and the lady wouldn't go any lower.
Sly 2: Band Of Thieves (GH, No manual) - $2
Originally $3. I had no idea how scratched it was until looking at it in the light, because the flea market is outside and it was dark out. >_<
Grim Fandango - (In jewel case with back art but no manual or big box) - 25 cents
Space Quest 6: Roger Wilco In The Spinal Frontier (complete, but no big box) - 50 cents
From the same seller. Hopefully these won't be too old for my computer. Grim Fandango came with 2 discs, is that the right number?
Official PS1 Memory Card - $1
Originally $2. I needed another one, and not a horrible price.

I believe that Grim Fandango has SCUMM VM support, so I'd definitely check that out. I'm torn between playing those old games on my DOS rig, or in SCUMM VM, since it handles them so well.

Well, Grimm Fandango works fine on my budget emachines computer, even though its running XP instead of 98 or 95.
The game is good so far. Think I'm gonna get a PC game controller before I really start playing it though because using the arrow keys is a PITA.
Sly 2 also works, despite all of the scratches. Its just as fun as it was a few years ago when I rented it.
Space Quest, however, didn't work. Don't know what I'm gonna do with that...

DOSBOX or one of the replacement SCI engines might let you run Space Quest VI. If you've never used DOSBox, be sure to give it a try. Running the Windows version might be more desirable, but you need 3.1 or 95. If you ask me, those early 90's Sierra games that had Windows modes were better in Windows than DOS.

Back in May, if anyone remembers, NES Rules stumbled upon a famiclone that looked like a penguin. Today. I had the opportunity to get one as well.

One difference I see in mine that NES's doesn't do is that my penguin's belly button lights up!

It's not much, but here's my latest finds from various garage sales:
- Ninja Gaiden Shadow (Game Boy. Loose): $.25
- Cyber Spin (Super NES. Loose): $.25
...And from Gamestop:
- Pokemon Silver (Game Boy Color. Loose): $4 (YAY for clearance Game Boy games!)
- Sonic Adventure 2: Battle (Gamecube. Missing instructions): $12
- I-Ninja (PlayStation 2. Complete): $5
- Musashi: Samurai Legend (PlayStation 2. Complete): Free
At the sale I got Cyber Spin at, I did have one of my funniest garage sale experiences in a very long time. The lady running the sale saw me carrying it around as I finished looking, and mentioned that she has "more old games like that" inside, and they they don't play them anymore because they sold the system ages ago. I asked if she could get the games out for me, and she simply replied by saying "Why?". I explain that I want to look at them and see if there's anything I might want, but she didn't seem to understand that (Probably because she was still half asleep; she did look like she just woke up). Still, I found it funny

After playing through the first stage and a half, I can definately call this one of Treasure's best. (definately better than Working Design's version)
Also, Play-Asia is absolutely excellent with their used stuff. This thing looks like it was opened and then stuck in a wrapper without ever being played.

Yup. I got it for 30$.. I ran out with it. It needs work, but I have friends who are willing to help me get it restored.
Now that I have the service manual with schematics and such.. it'll be that much easier!
I also think it would be a nice thing to package with it if I ever do decide to sell it. How many of these could be floating around, eh?

I saw a bag of NES accessories behind a counter at a thrift store yesterday. I aksed the guy how much and he said... "Oops, someone sold an NES without the accessories... how about $4.14? I said sure, and was given the following: AC adapter, 2 controllers, and zapper.
But the main reason I told this exceedingly boring story was... why the fuck was a quoted a price of "uhhh, $4.14?" before tax? This thrift shop's prices are all like that, and I don't understand it. I don't even know why this bothers me.

One of the thrifts I hit regularly has odd prices like that. I haven't noticed a pattern to it other than everything is *.20 or *.80, and maybe one other. May just be so it is quick to ring stuff up. One time something I had was *.60 clearly marked and they told me they don't have anything priced that way. So maybe it is a little bit of a way to prevent price tampering? I dunno, not very hard system to beat, but maybe it works sometimes.
My find for the day is a boxed PC SW Tie Fighter. Has inserts, but no manual, 3.5" disks. Also inside is the big box 3.5" SW Tie Fighter Defender of the Empire Campaign Disk (2 disks actually). Anyone know anything about this or value? I've not heard of it, and no copies have sold on fleabay recently.

The contents of that expansion pack are included in Star Wars: TIE Fighter Collector's CD-Rom. Maybe collectors would be interested in it, but... you know, floppies and all. :\
