I will be there again. I have the "party room" booked yet again. Hopefully I get the suite this time just because I'm tired of having to pay for two rooms. If needed I can always get another.

I'll be arriving the Friday before, if you need my number PM me.

I'll be there as usual with a truckload of arcade machines and games to sell in my booth.

I'm putting casters on almost all of my arcade machines, that way it will be much easier for loading and unloading.

I will have TONS of loose books and boxes, so make sure you guys bring your lists.

I also have a couple of boxes of misc. toys, games, and carded figures I'm looking to sell.

Booth is paid for, hotel room is booked, just need to book the truck rental.

The girl and i will be there this year. We'll be at the hotel by Friday before dinner. I think we need some sort of DP name tags. I know i met some people last year and i didn't have the slightest idea who they were. I think i had lunch with some DP people and didn't realize it.

I'm bringing a table or two worth of stuff for the museum this year.

Man, I appreciate the offer but I have absolutely no room for it in this apartment. I also just signed a new lease which means I'm here for at least another year, and I have no climate controlled places to store it :(. As for Perkar and myself, our original gameplan was to drive back to Toledo after the show Sunday but if you guys are sticking around we might do the same. I can't speak for Perkar, though. Also, I'm hoping that we can get our tables adjacent to yours. I think Wyatt is the only vendor that is consistently next to you at the show, so hopefully something can be worked out.

I'm considering going to MGC provided I can find someone willing to split a room, and my tax refund comes through. I hope I can make it, as I have heard very good things about the show and Lakerz.

Question: Plane tickets to General Mitchel are half that of Madison. Is there any glaring reason I would want to pay double to go to Madison Airport?

Carey85
01-30-2009, 11:36 PM
MGC is roughly 30-35 minutes from Mitchell Airport from what I understand, and the Olympia Resort has a round trip shuttle that costs $70 IIRC. Still cheaper than a cab ride looks like.

dave2236

according to mapquest

Total Estimated Time: 44 minutes
Total Estimated Distance: 37.89 miles

There should be a bunch of DP people down there. Maybe someone can pick you up on their way through Milwaukee or go from the show and pick you up and drive back.

I would go pick you up, but I only have a 26ft Penske truck and I'm not taking that to the airport.

What days were you thinking about.

I would fly in Friday (20th), and leave Monday (23rd). I haven't booked anything yet, however. These were the best times for me that weren't $200 each way.

Arrive at Millwaukee 3:02 PM Friday Mar. 20th
Depart from Millwaukee 12:18 PM Monday Mar. 23rd

If someone was willing to pick me up and or drop me off at the airport, that would be amazing! I would cover your gas and then some.

I'm also still looking to see if anyone needs to split a room.

the airport shuttle is basically 80.00 now. last year I took it from the greayhound/amtrak station dt milwaukee to the hotel(it was 70.00 back then).
I wish somebody was willing to pick me up at the station, 80.00 is alot but it is chepaer then a cab.
I'm going be taking mega bus from chi-union station to Dt amtrak station and shuttle from there(I uaslly go the day of and leave after the second day)

For flying into the show I also suggest looking at Chicago O'hare. It is only like 2.5 hours away and you can get really cheap car rentals off of hotwire out of ohare. Mine was $9 a day for a sedan last year.

General Billy Mitchell in Milwaukee is the closest major airport to the show. The airport has all of the normal amenities that a major airport has including rental cars and so on. If you're flying in, I would suggest checking to see if you can get a flight on Midwest Airlines, as they are an amazing service and Milwaukee is their hub, so they usually have cheap flights. I don't think I've ever taken a Midwest flight that was more than 30 minutes late, and I have arrived as early as 30 minutes early at destinations with them before. If you're lucky, they'll even serve you chocolate chip cookies on board.

If that doesn't work out though, O'Hare in Chicago isn't too bad either. As was mentioned, it is about 2.5 hours away from the show, but since it is a major airport for basically every company but Midwest, sometimes flights in there can be very cheap. Since it is a bigger airport, renting a car there can be cheaper. Generally, flights out of Milwaukee do tend to be slightly cheaper than O'Hare (oddly enough, many have layovers in Chicago), but the rental car costs can more than make up the difference.

The Olympia has a shuttle which runs to and from the hotel, but it is something like $45 per person which is a little crazy. If you are coming in near someone else, try to get transportation to the Olympia as a group in a cab to save costs, or rent a car.

I promise everyone, in 2010 we are going to solve the airport transportation issue so the trip from the airport to the hotel won't cost practically the same amount as it does to fly into Milwaukee.

We've got a *lot* more surprises up our sleeves for this year. I can't wait to see everyone there! And, if I may, please do add me to the nametag list :)

We will be mailing out the actual tickets (wristbands) to anyone who pre-orders tickets beginning toward the end of this month. In the past, we used cards to claim them at the show, but this year we decided that since each day is a different price, we can differentiate between the two days based on the color of the wristband that is sold, and that way you won't have to wait in line to get in at all when you arrive -- you can walk right into the show floor!

No. You'll be getting information about all things vendor related, as you'll need pack in and out times and whatnot. We usually get this info out about two-three weeks in advance, as we work on the details solidly until that point.

No, you do not. The bonus to pre-ordering is that you save $5 off the price for the two days and you don't have to wait in line to get tickets the day of the show. And you get a letter from us with some details in it.

This is shaping up to be a great looking party. I better bring a couple more cases of beer.

I also have to edit the arcade list because I sold 10 cabinets last week. Don't worry Kristine, I will still bring Punch-Out down. I'm also trying to buy a kit that will let me have Punch-Out and Super Punch-Out both in the same cabinet, so hopefully I get that in time.

I'm planning on leaving Green Bay at noon, so I should be there a little after 2. Almost all of the cabinets are on casters now so they are very easy to move. Should be quick and easy loading and unloading. I can definitely use the help unloading. I'm bringing tons of stuff to sell. Even I don't know whats in some of the boxes.
