Heavy Metal 2000 + bonus disc (discs only)- I have no idea what this is, a cartoon?

Ugh. Either you got Heavy Metal 2000 (sequel to the Heavy Metal animated feature based on the magazine), or... this.

I didn't really find much of anything today. I got a three game ValuSoft racing set, some weird 1967 gore movie on VHS... and that was it. :P

New stuff today. The NES games, Perfect Dark Zero guide, and Street Fighter cards all came from Vintage Stock in Tulsa, OK (the location right off of Yale) and cost right about $40. Everything else came in the mail from a Canadian DP member:

I'm in Louisiana again, and it seems every thrift (except Goodwill) is closed on Monday! In fact, a whole lot of stuff is closed on mondays, like doughnut stores. Anyhow, at a Play N' Trade I picked up Omega Race for the 2600 and Trolls on Treasure Island for the NES, both loose. $1.99 and $2.99, respectively.

Snagged the following lot from a local game store:

http://img502.imageshack.us/img502/2529/dscn0252.th.jpg (http://img502.imageshack.us/my.php?image=dscn0252.jpg)

The store's original price for this lot - $150.00
Cash amount from my pocket AFTER trading in 55 penny guides - $40.00

May not be complete but I can't argue with the final price or the condition. The box has some wear but everything else is near mint.

Very happy to have this one in the collection.

Original GameBoy, loose, missing the screen cover but has the battery cover, which I thought was a little odd. Didn't have a price tag on it, took it to the counter, and the girl said 2.99. Works great, and I didn't have to clean the battery terminals or the cart slot, which is always a plus.

Finally a reason to post here! Okay, today I decided to take a break from reality and hit one of my favorite thrifts, that I haven't been to in weeks. So I walk in and see a large ziploc bag crammed with what looked like a huge mess of wires and a blue dreamcast controller. So I grabbed it and here's what it was:

http://img11.imageshack.us/img11/5396/img4723e.jpg (http://img11.imageshack.us/my.php?image=img4723e.jpg)

In the bag were misc. wires that were basically crap along with the blue "High Frequency" controller (never even heard of this one) and a black Astropad "Performance" Dreamcast controller. Then I noticed the little VMU and thought how I can always use another one of those...but it's different and has a little hole in the top. And what's that green fuzzball?? Could it be a Seaman microphone?? YES! What a GREAT day to stop in! So I head off to pay for this stuff when I notice something in the case of CD's - "sega" swirl logos! Looking closer found these:

http://img11.imageshack.us/img11/4606/img4724.jpg (http://img11.imageshack.us/my.php?image=img4724.jpg)

Twelve complete DC games! I've never seen ANY DC stuff in this store prior, so this is awesome! All in all from this store, I got this:

Bag of 2 DC controllers and Seaman Mic - $4.00
12 Dreamcast games (complete and scratchfree): $30 (not great, but not bad)
- Rippin Riders
- Hidden and Dangerous
- Rainbow Six
- Silver
- Ducati World Racing
- Flag to Flag Racing
- Soul Calibur
- Air Force Delta
- NFL 2K
- NFL 2K1
- NFL 2K2
- Seaman!!

Lastly, hit Goodwill on the way home and grabbed a Genesis 6-button controller for $1.99.
http://img11.imageshack.us/img11/6263/img4725l.jpg (http://img11.imageshack.us/my.php?image=img4725l.jpg)

So, all this for about $36 - Not bad!

I may not have a 360 yet, but I at least have access to my brother-in-law's 360 (So I have some way to play it until I get my own system)

I got The Jungle Book: Rhythm N'Groove (complete and near mint condition) and Um Jammer Lammy (disc only, blockbuster stickers and scratched to hell) from Goozex.

The Jammy disc pisses me off because the guy sent the disc in a bubble mailer. No jewel case. HE SENT THE DISC IN A PAPER SLEEVE. It could've gotten cracked in transit. God, what an idiot...

Sweet day at work, some guy must have owned a store and was cleaning house as he donated 550 DVDs. All were legit full releases, but a lot had no bar codes or holes punched in them as they were promos. Not too many TV shows (Wildboyz and Ali G come to mind) but massive amounts of films. Unfortunately most of them sucked. Oddly enough, of the seven I bought, none had holes punched or missing bar codes. Here is what I bought:

Bubba Ho-Tep (only bought this because of a thread I was reading here on DP)
Club Dread unrates
Dark City
Dodgeball unrated
Metallica: Some Kind of Monster
Spaceballs: Two Disc
The Animal unrated

From a person at work selling N64 games, $5 each:

Cruisin USA
NBA Hangtime
Mario Kart 64
Kobe Bryant in NBA Courtside

Three of them are missing the white cardboard inside, other than that everything else (inserts and instruction booklets) are in there, along with the cardboard N64 box. I had traded most of these away a while back but had always wanted them back. Not very often do I find N64 games complete like this. This person also has some other N64 games that I may purchase.

I guess I need to keep my eyes open around here for all kinds of stores. We only have the electronic Fry's.

The grocery store chain was run by the father of the Fry brothers who founded the electronics chain. It's basically what they did with the money their dad gave them after making a bundle. I believe Fry's grocery stores only exist in Arizona these days but they used to be all over the west coast.

Very good day. I may even break even today!

I got to the flea market around 9 AM, but due to the time difference between Mexico and the US (why the hell did you guys have to do the whole Daylight Saving Time thing THREE WEEKS EARLY, dammit), very few vendors had set up when I arrived. So I spent some time talking to another flea market hunter - he goes for classic CDs and VHS tapes and our tastes in jazz and orchestral music tend to overlap, and eventually they started taking down boxes full of CDs and stuff.

I got the following albums for $5:

http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j238/foxhack/DP/dp-2009-03-12-cds.jpg

ALL are mint. Not a single scratch on the discs. My friend got about seven two-disc sets with music from that same era. They also had a five jazz CD box set... but only four were in the box. No clue where the fifth one was. Maybe it'll show up tomorrow, I hope.

A bit later I backtracked and found a guy with a bunch of NES carts.

http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j238/foxhack/DP/dp-2009-03-12-nesgames.jpg

That was $5 for the pair, both are in mint condition and with very little cart contact wear! Oh, I also got this.

http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j238/foxhack/DP/dp-2009-03-12-lethalgenny.jpg

Not saying how much, but it's complete, and the set was likely used only once. It's going on eBay soon.

I met with a local game "collector" who wanted to sell a lot of his stuff off. I bought the following for $81 total-

hardware-
6 button Genesis controller
Sega CD model 2, works, withj the AC adaptor and plastic extender piece.
Sega CD model 1, seems to be defective. It keeps ejecting the discs instead of reading them. Bought in the hopes I can fix the problem.

loose Genesis games-
ESWAT City Under Siege
Sonic 3D Blast
Desert Demolition
Game Genie

Loose 32X games
Shadow Squadron
Tempo
Cosmic Carnage

Boxed Genesis games with intact hanging tabs-
Sonic 1
Sonic 2
Sonic Spinball
Ms Pac-Man
Strider
Ecco The Dolphin
Dungeons & Dragons: Beholders of the Eternal Sun

Sega CD games in case-
Ecco: Tides of Time

Boxed Super Famicom games-
Aretha
Aretha II
Fire Fighting

He sold so cheap because he knew he'd get about 5X more from me than the local used game store would pay for games.

I don't know if you can see it from the pic or not but that's the NTSC version of Asterix at the Olympic Games, picked it up for 20 bucks along with Two Worlds for 15 and South Park for 20.

Did the place where you found that Asterix have another one? I'm in need of one for my collection.

There are no thrift stores at all where I live, at least not in any reasonable driving distance. Just the Goodwill store which wants $20 for a Genesis and the used game stores, which think $40 is a "fair price" for a Game Gear and $100 is what a toploader is worth. Therefore, I don't find deals like this.

Persoanlly, I'd like to see thrift stores spring up and drive the used game stroes completely under. That would teach them for charging $20 for Legend of Zelda.

I was sent out to go do some grocery shopping, to me that means that I have a car available to me and I may as well pawnshop for 2 hours before I actually hit up the grocery store. I found to my delight...

A mint conditon copy of System Shock (Enchanced CD Version, unfortunately, but still). You can tell that the CD has never been used, none of it has, it made that crisp cd sound/feel when I removed it from the case to check quality. $5.99

A mint condition copy of The 11th Hour. Everything once again is prestine. I am generally not a PC gaming enthusiast, but my boyfriend is, so I know a little out there about what is good.

Nevermind that I've been wanting a good copy of System Shock for myself for awhile.

Pictures! (mind the shakey cam, aside from my SLR the only thing I have is an iffy webcam)

I also found a Memory Card Adapter for the PS3. Which is good, because I needed one for my new one. Unfortunately it seems that you can only put the memory card on there and never transfer it back to a physical card, which sucks because I planned on having my PS2 in my workout room to use when I am on the bike.

I'd say you did well, sav. The zelda and mario would pull at least $50 if you eBayed them and if they are in good shape. I don't know enough about the rest, but nothing strikes me particularly. Still if you figure 25 for the system and the rest of that games that's just fine.
