Awesome day at work today, some guy donated an NES and about 50 games. Needless to say, I bought all the good ones. They are in my trunk so I don't have a complete list, but from what I can remember, all cart only:

Adventure Island
Adventure Island II
Lolo
Lolo II
Miracle Piano
Zelda gold cart
Zelda 2

Then when I get home, Fallout 3 Collector's Edition is waiting for me!

went by a local play n trade that just opened recently about 2 months ago. they don't have a whole lot of stock right now but they had a few interesting items including a complete boxed dreamcast and complete boxed gamecube. (both have never been opened or so they said anyway.)

the boxed DC and boxed GC were 89.99 each so i was tempted but didn't bite because i always feel like i can get a better deal somewhere else.

anyway, they did have a clean complete genesis model 2 for 19.99 and i was able to get 20% off. so anyway, i bought the genny 2 and college football national title for the genesis all for $17. (the game was 20% off too)

It's not much, but I found a loose copy of Duck Tales 2 for the NES at $4.00 today. There was also a CIB Jimmy Conners Tennis for $4.50, but I didn't pick it up because the rear page of the manual had one half torn and missing.

Bleach vol. 12,13,14

This lady is there every few months or so with a bunch of random manga and some other junk. The manga are marked $1 each, but each time she comes I offer to buy all and she hooks me up. No idea where she gets these, and not sure which to keep and which to sell.

Did the place where you found that Asterix have another one? I'm in need of one for my collection.
It was the last one that they had. I'll keep an eye out for another though.

Had a party last night, and I was given two Electronic Games magazines. January and May of '83. The Jan one has The Player's Guide to Climbing Games across the top, and the May one has ... to those 'Cute' Games.

Pretty neat flipping through them. Anyone know if these are worth anything? I wouldn't sell them, but if they are worth a bunch I'd let my friend know since he wouldn't have known what he was giving away.

I went to the collector's house again.

I bought a TMSS "HD Graphics" model 1 Genesis with AC adaptor for $15. I opened it, it's a VA5 or VA6 motherboard, so while it has TMSS, it has the good sound quality. It also had a metal plate for a model 1 Sega CD screwed onto the bottom.

As the copy of Sonic CD I purchased the other day is dead, I bought his copy for $3. It has a scratch ring which wil need to be buffed out, but at leats it loads.

And a boxed copy of Krion Conquest for NES for $5.

For some reason this game is not listed under the DP GameGear list.

I did a search by the developer name, Micro Cabin. It came up as "Fley" in the DP list with an R0. The other Fray for the PC-Engine is an R6.
Even though the rarity hasn't been set, this could be a pretty rare game. ;)

I spent most of the day going from one Gamestop to another trying to find some good Xbox games for the buy 2 get 1 free sale. Ended up with about 24 games, I think and spent way too much money but got some nice stuff. Some of the gems are:

Ikaruga (GC) complete and mint
Sniper Elite (Xbox) complete and mint
NCAA 2K3 (GC) complete and mint ($1.99)
and about 21 others.

It's getting harder to find nice Xbox games with original boxes, art, and instructions so these sales are a great time for me to load up on some rarities as well as really nice not-so-rares.

Today's finds:

Leisure Suit Larry Collection Series (Larry 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, Laffer Utilities, and Softporn Adventure) complete in box! $4. It even had spare manuals for Postal and some baseball games. :p

Got the following last night:

N64
Majora's Mask - Complete, box is a little worn on the edges

SNES
System with two controllers and all cables
Super Mario All-Stars - With dust cover and in a mail away bag
ESPN National Hockey Night - Complete in great condition
WWF Royal Rumble - Complete, box is a bit worn

PS1
NHL '97 - Complete with inserts
Interactive Sampler Pack Volume 2 - in generic cd case
Toys 'r Us Interactive CD Sampler Disc - In original sleeve

All for free!
I'm moving in with my parents temporarily before my up comming wedding and my roommate is getting a place of his own (I lost my job a few months ago, otherwise I would'nt be moving at all). He didn't want this stuff anymore, so he gave it to me. He received All-Stars free in the mail, so it never had a box, and everything else is in great condition. Not certain if I'm gonna keep Royal Rumble...that may end up going to Goodwill.

I've picked up a ton of stuff in the past week or two. Most of which I really shouldn't have bought but eh, what are you going to do?

Resident Evil 5 - 360 (Also got the Pre-Order sandglobe)
Beautiful Katamari - 360
Shining Soul - GBA
Monster Rancher - GBA
Megaman Zero 3 - GBA
Megaman Battle Network 2 - GBA
Siren - PS2
Kuon - PS2
Cold Fear - PS2
Fatal Fury Battle Archives - PS2
Okami - PS2
SNK Arcade Classics - Wii
Some other game that came in the bundle for the Wii as well.
Kid Niki - NES
Mafat Conspiracy - NES
Kid Kool - NES (Selling this one)
Sorcerian - NES
Kingdom Under Fire - Xbox
Syberia - Xbox
Azurik - Xbox
Jojo's Bizarre Adventure - DC
Lunacy - Saturn

The best part is a huge box of stuff I got from an old Coworker. She wanted it out of her house, her husband didn't. It was funny, she actually made me pester her just so she'd talk her husband into giving them away. I didn't want to come between a man and his games so I only did it because she requested, and hell...I'm not complaining.

I also gave her a new Singstar Country bundle for PS2, because I was thankful for it. And I got....

NES Power set box (Most everything is in there, but the box is an after thought, no styro and tape all over it)

NES
SNES2
NES Advantage Controller
NES Max Controller
Powerpad
Power Glove (In box with everything and Docs, but the box is pretty beat up)
Zapper

NES Games - Metroid, Zelda 2, Hoops, Double Dragon, Gauntlet, Super Spike, WWF King of the Ring, Bubble Bobble, Demon Sword, SMB2, Tag Team Wrestling, Startropics, Kung Fu, Crystalis, Harlem Globetrotters, Bad Dudes, RBI Baseball, SMB 3, Wheel of Fortune Family Edition, Baseball Stars, Snakes Revenge, Mike Tyson's Punchout, Tecmo Bowl, Ultima Exodus, Contra, Kid Icarus, Startropics 2, Blaster Master, SMB/Duckhunt/Track Meet, Final Fantasy, 8 Eyes, Xenophope

SNES Games - Kirby Superstar, Capcom MVP Football, NBA Live 95, Monopoly, Madden 97

Only problem is that I own most of the games already. So I'll probably trade them off someday.

Stopped by the Play N Trade on the other side of town out of curiosity. Found some decent stuff although I still think the stores would do far better off if run independently as a franchise. Anyway...

NES - Hudson's Adventure Island II ($6.39)
NES - Kid Niki ($0.79)
NES - MC Kids ($2.39)
NES - Videomation ($2.39)
SMS - Ghostbusters $2.39)
PS2 - Kingdom Hearts ($9.99)

http://www.classicplastic.net/digitalpress/finds/DP-Finds-2009-03-16(01).jpg

MC Kids will be going to my brother as I already have a copy. I thought I had a copy of Kid Niki as well but sure enough when I got home I realized that wasn't the case, which is odd. Other games I needed as well. Glad to have a copy of Adventure Island II since it's probably my favorite of the series.

I grabbed a copy of Kingdom Hearts since I'm playing through Kingdom Hearts II right now. I bought and played the original when it was released but ultimately grew tired of the awful collision detection and got rid of it (there were lots of other games to play anyway). Since playing Kingdom Hearts II I wanted to go back and play the first again eventually. Speaking of which, last week thanks to TRU's "buy two $19.99 for $29.99"...

PS2 - Kingdom Hearts II ($15.00)
PS2 - Speed Racer The Videogame ($15.00)

Speed Racer is a lot of fun as well.

I got a Tekken 2 jamma cab for 300. I figured that it would be a good starter cab. I have been basically been using it to learn how arcade machines work. I have yet to learn about the monitor, but I have everything else figured out.

I have already been doing some small things here and there (remember, I had no knowledge of arcades until last friday). Replaceing bulbs, learning about kick harnesses, wiring and everything.

If you couldn't tell, I am pretty excited about this one, as I know it is 300 for a tekken 2 cab, but it is jamma, the display was nice and bright, it had a kick harness. Good for a starter machine.

Well, they all come with the cd in a bigger outer box (unless you're buying used and its not there) and retail on the game is 39.99 everywhere. Remember kids, Amazon tends to have stuff, shipping is free over 25 bucks and no tax on anything (at least for now). They can really help save on the whole hunting for months thing. It's what I do with 85% of my DS games.

As to not be totally off-topic, RE5 LE came in today finally, Avalon Code, KoF for PS2 and Dokomdonke Panic! also showed up.

http://i707.photobucket.com/albums/ww75/evanwink42/finds147.jpg

Had a decent couple of days. For my birthday on Monday I got the two electronic Games mags. I also picked up the FFVII and Dirge that day for $35 off CL, and both are near mint. Then today I got the GameBoy games all CIB and near mint for 2.50 each, also off CL. These I'll probably just flip... I have a GameBoy collection, but it doesn't get much love and I certainly don't care about boxes, etc for it, so these are basically 'too nice' to be wasted on me. Waverace was 1.69 at a thrift, The Beer Hunter was 1.80 at a thrift, and Pikmin2 + FFIIIDS were 20 together off CL. Pikmin2 has scratches but not bad, and no manual. FFIII was loose, but at a garage sale last summer someone had picked up about 6 DS cases (perfect shape & w/ manuals, etc) and the seller just said to take them for free or something. I didn't catch all of it, but some confusion ensued because the buyer thought they all had games in them. So the buyer didn't take them, and the seller was about to throw them all away! I stopped her in time, so now I have a near mint FFIII DS!

Also picked up 5 ac adapters: GCN, Gen1, and 3 misc. useful ones.

I traded some games to my local collectibles shop, and used the credit to get:

Dragon Warrior Monsters 2: Tara's Journey (GBC)

Goldeneye (N64)

Both of them are cart only, and I did have to pay $5 out of pocket, but they should be more fun than the crappy games I traded in.

VHS Tapes! Old horror type stuff, I love it. A buck a pop. Some of the tapes there had the retail price, did people really pay $80 for a tape back in the 80's? O_o

I found one booth that had tons of early to mid 90's software and games. I found Lost Treasures of Infocom (floppy version) there. The main docs were still sealed, and the floppies were pristine. I've already copied them to my computer. :) Everything else I already had or was not interested in (mostly flight sims.)

The Bitstream font pack was a buck, brand new. It has a couple of fonts I've been looking for.

Starcraft and Astro Assembler was $3, Excel:Mac as $3, Vandal Hearts is missing the manual and the disc has some gunk on it but it was $3 too. The other discs are Office 2003 Small Business Editions, and they were $8. I hope eBay won't take these down when I put them up there, I need the cash. :p

Early on, yes. I vaguely remember that being the list price. I think that's what contributed to the video rental boom. Later on the prices came down to earth.

I always wondered if rental was actually the reason for the prices being so high. It made more sense to me that the publishers charged more because rental stores were the main purchasers, and maybe they got some kind of rental royalty agreements.

Today I picked up Gangster Alley, Outer Space, Space Combat, and Artillery Duel for the Atari 2600. The first three were $1.91, the last was $9.99. I also bought Tutankham for the Colecovision for $2.49, and Pinball for the VIC-20, $1.91. All loose, of course. Why would anyone be so insane as to keep their game boxes and manuals? That's crazy talk!

I also bought a Tiger LCD handheld of Hang-On for 40¢, a laserdisc of Radioactive Dreams for $6.99, and a boxed Commodore Plus/4 for $5.99. This is far more stuff than I usually find on my thrift route, some days I'm lucky if I even buy a single thing. Today didn't get me anything too great, but it's still good to find a decent amount in the wild.

Quick edit: while looking for Commodore Plus/4 cartridges or cassettes, I came across a Zimag cassette. I thought those guys only made discount video cassettes, I wasn't aware they made audio tapes. That made me smile. I forgot what shit band was scribbled onto it, but how much do you want to bet Zimag's cheap tapes would crumble if you attempted to play them now?

Today, I got Skull and Crossbones on the NES, Pete Sampras Tennis for the Genesis, and Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars for the DS.

Pete Sampras Tennis is one of those weird Codemasters J-Carts. As for GTA: Chinatown Wars, it's just like GTA, but on a handheld. I had some Gamestop gift cards lying around, and I wanted to get it eventually.

Double Dragon x2
Operation Europe
Pirates Gold
SeaQuest DSV
Space Invaders 91

I bought Demon's Souls (Asian import) and Resident Evil 5, both for PS3 over the past week or so. I also just finished building my new PC, the specs are as follows:

Q6600
Radeon HD 4850
4GB RAM
500W PSU
250GB HDD (re-used from another PC I have)
Cooler Master Centurion 5 CAC-T05 case
Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3L Motherboard

I also re-used a DVD-RW burner and regular DVD drive, so the total cost of building the new computer was just under $600.

That chip seems to be pretty popular. I know at least two people who built systems with it recently. Just make sure you're using a 64-bit OS to take advantage of your 4gb ram, other wise you can't use more than 3.5. If you haven't gone to Vista yet, now's the time. NewEgg has Home Premium 64 for $100ish. If you don't like Vista, get used to it, it's a great OS with 4gb ram and enough processing power.

My find for today was something that I built, or started building rather. I've been REALLY annoyed recently about just having RF adapters for my SMS and Genesis, and I didn't want to buy the A/V cables online. After finding the pinouts online, I checked Radio Shack for the plugs and extra RCA jacks. Of course, the people there were no help:

Me: "Where are the din plugs?"
Clerk: "What's a doom plug?"
*I hold up a MIDI coupler for comparison*
Clerk: "You're probably not going to find that anywhere, not even specialty parts stores."

I knew I would have trouble finding the 9-pin mini din for my Genesis 2, but the more common 5-pin din for SMS was easy to find. Standard MIDI cable, gives me two plugs. Also picked up a $2.99 project enclosure and an 8-port RCA jack board, which fit together nicely. After some cable stripping, wire poking with a multimeter, and hobby knife work, I now have a nice little black SMS A/V box, with plugs to spare when I find the plugs for other systems, and when I get around to going the RGB route. Still need to solder the wires on permanently (and wire mono audio to two plugs) and hot glue the plug's wire into the hole. Much more fun than ordering an A/V cable. Total came to about $15.

Yeah, I have a copy of Vista 64. I'm using the latest beta of Windows 7 right now though, and I'm liking it better. It runs faster than Vista and is more aesthetically pleasing once you get used to it. It's been incredibly stable so far too, I've not had one problem yet.

I actually had a few problems with Windows 7. My ethernet device didn't have a driver, and I had to go get a spare ethernet card. Then, driver signing had disabled my DVD drive, and I had to do some kind of hack to get that to work. I plan to go back to Win 7 once I find a bigger hard drive, and I'll probably upgrade once it's released.

3DO Street Fighter II was in one of the boxes too
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v21/Chris1/MISC%20PICTURES%202/8165fbe8.jpg

The first thing we come across is a nice old Lionel train set in the box..I ask for price and it was just sold to the wife of a vendor I know..She saw that I was asking about it too..It was sold for.$25.00............, so worth it..
Later I go ask the people I know who bought it and they have it out on the table for $50.00...they doubled the price.
I ask is that what you want, they say yea...
This particular vendor sells game stuff but he wants $50.00 for basic NES systems and $45.00 for basic SNES systems..Nothings Moving!!

I was ready to leave but I see a pile of 3DO items near his stuff...I ask if it's his and he directs me to the guy next to him..I get a price on it all $30.00..I take it and he bags it all up in a brand new laundry bag..

OMG!! the guy who I know almost croaked as he paid no mind to this stuff ..He starts digging through the laundry bag looking at the gams and the vendor says to him that he just sold it ALL to me..(kind of forcing him out of the bag..
If the guy I know could of he would of bought it from under me then tried to charge me $30.00 Each.If I had not paid for it right away he would of bought it as soon as he heard the guy tell me the price....

.....It's just that bad ...You got to buy fast..

As soon as I got home I plugged in the 3DO systems...Both turn on and open and close fine
One unit has a smooth textured top,the other has a rough textured top.
..I have a 3DO collection of my own with sealed boxed games that I'd like to sell.
3DO stuff is all for sale..

My Collection.(system,controllers not shown)For Sale.(WHAT'S IT WORTH?
Piled up as I'm Moving..

Things I received in the last few days:

All of the above ran me right at $20 shipped from a member of the forums (Kai). I also picked up a couple of DS games at Walmart:

Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo Tales (DS) - $10 from their display of closeout games
