i think calling it one of the best deals ever is a little exaggerated, it was a great deal, but not insanely good. The 2 hd dvd players for 20 was a much better find.

I have found about 5 sega cd genny combos in the past 2 years at garage sales, they are not that uncommon. I have yet to sell any of them yet, lol.

I didn't say it was the best deal ever, just one of the best that I've seen.

Best deal ever is more like that guy who got all those NES prototypes and 2 Grey WWC carts and other promotional Nintendo stuff at a yard sale from that Nintendo Employee.

A craigslist find. Atari Lynx Model II with 4 games, box, and all intructions & paperwork for $10. 1'st one I ever saw on there so I snatched it up fast.

And another one that wasn't actually my find but is pretty noteworthy. At a thrift store, my dad bought a mint complete boxed NES system for $3!!! Usually all I ever come across is just a dirty bare bones system for no less than $8.

Latest finds:

http://img29.imageshack.us/img29/6312/img5485.jpg (http://img29.imageshack.us/i/img5485.jpg/)

Tonic Trouble (N64) loose - $2.98
Desert Strike (Gen) loose - $1.98
Super Off-Road The Baja (SNES) loose - 2.98
Super Mario World (SNES) loose - $2.98
Spy Vs. Spy (NES) $2.98
California Games (NES) $2.98
All of these games came from Half Price Books.

Then at Goodwill I found the oddly packaged Korean and/or Chinese "Iron Man" Blu-Ray DVD. I haven't opened it yet, but at $1.00 I'm not expecting much. My guess is this is a bad bootleg, NOT Blu-ray quality, heck there may not even be a disc in the package!

I'm still underwhelmed by the finds of someone that calls themselves Garagesaleking!!.

I find amazing stuff every week its just usually not game related, and when it is game related i rarely post it in the finds form, i go every weekend to sales and find way too much to take pictures of and list.

Selling on ebay is my full time job while i am a college student.

Last week i got 2 pairs of speakers worth 700 a pair and a $500 denon receiver all with the original boxes. All for $75, i just did not post it.

2 Weeks ago i got 2 lcd projectors for 15 a piece, that which i did not post either. And thats just 1 item from many i got both weekends.

I may not be king but close. I have not seen anything much that can beat my find from last year, the ps2 system with 135 games for $150.

Im still pissed about the time i would guess about 4 years ago, when i went to a garage sale in a neighborhood with close to million dollar homes and the lady and her husband both worked for nintendo. They were selling all nintendo stuff at the sale, collectibles, systems, games, neon lights, all kinds of stuff. It was basically at give away prices but at the time i was not interested in it and was a child so basically had no money. They literally had a full size tote bin full of gba games for like 2 bucks each, and that was when gba had been the latest gameboy system.

Well I thought' I'd say a few days ago I had some gift cards for Wal-Mart and I went out and got Rocket Slime Adventures for $14.97 and Geometry Wars: Galaxies (DS version) for $10.00. Not bad, considering I had some credit I needed to spend.

Okay, at my local Goodwill they have a NES Miracle Piano for $24.99, sans the cables to attach it to a NES. Is this a good price to pay for one, or should I pass this up because the cable is scarce and the keyboard won't work with a NES without it?

Also, some really good sales are listed for tomorrow, including 2 church sales, one of which is this giant catholic church which consistantly brings me some good stuff. Tomorrow looks like I'll find a lot of nice things, and hopefully some video game stuff.

And also: I GRADUATE TOMORROW. WOOt!

I got a pretty good deal tonight. I just got back from picking it up.

Someone on a local board had a Super NES lot for sale for 50 bucks. I offered her 30 and told her I could pick it up tonight and she agreed.

http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s182/c0ldb33r/th_004-2.jpg (http://s152.photobucket.com/albums/s182/c0ldb33r/?action=view&current=004-2.jpg)

It came with:

a. A Super NES console - it isn't yellowed at all! This is great. My current one looks like the bottom half has been a smoker for 20+ years. Not this one, it's all light grey it also came with 2 controllers, AC adapter and RF adapter.

b. Michael Jordan, Chaos in the Windy City

c. Ren & Stimpy: Firedogs (I didn't realise that this is an R7 until I got home, apparently it was a rental only, mine doesn't look like it was ever a rental)

d. Donkey Kong Country

e. Donkey Kong Country 2 - this is in rough shape. It's a former rental and looks it.

f. Killer Instinct

g. Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars

All games are cart only. All this for only $30 Cdn ($26 USD). Even though she originally was asking $50, I find if you offer X and follow it with "I can pick it up tonight", they'll usually agree. I'm glad I did pick it up tonight, because she told me she was also emailed by some guy that told her that he buys and sells video games. I'm glad that I got it instead of some dealer. :)

Well, when I was at Goodwill this old lady was looking at it. She had it and this crappy Concertmate (Radioshack brand) keyboard in her basket. She was going to choose one and she had no idea what I was talking about when I explained that the Miracle piano is for a Nintendo (though it does function without one). I'd expect there's a 50/50 chance that it'll still be at Goodwill tomorrow. This lady was acting bat !*@& crazy so I have no idea whether or not it'll be there tomorrow. Even though it's a bit rare, I can't find myself paying $24.99 for a game accessory that I can't use with a game without a lot of thought. I might still pick it up if it's worth having, I'm just afraid I wouldn't be able to find the cables anywhere.

They are pretty huge, that must have filled her basket lol, i sold mine on ebay for 125 buy it now, after it arrived at the buyers house they said it was broken. I still have the returned package from a year ago and have not opened it back up. But we should try to work something out. If you buy it,ill send you all the cables and then we could sell it and split the money or something lol. Or i would just sell you the cables for some price and then you could sell it.

If you have the Piano, then you can use it without hooking it up to a NES. I got one several years ago, and it worked -without- needing a NES, since it was a standard Miracle Piano (just plug in the AC Adaptor and pound those keys!). Maybe the thing works, but the Midi to NES cable does not.

Why does that RAM pack say 399.00?

That sounds like an insane price, unless Denmark currency is vastly different from the dollar.

Also, Kuros, great finds! Especially that NGPC lot.

Oh, it's different. 399 DKK is roughly 75 USD today. Not the price I paid, mind you, but the price when it was bought in the store ;)

Meh MEh MEH today was baaaaad for video games at garage sales. All I found was a loose Messiah Generation Nex system for $3 and a few other things. I saw a boxed NES and some games for $65 at a sale and some of our competitors bought it. Haha trust me, it was a bad deal, the NES was in bad shape and the games were all commons. Our competition was acting so weird today (see below paragraph). They left the sale in a hurry and the person running the sale gave me the boxes for Shooting Range (NES, R4) and Target Renegade (NES) for free cause they were left behind. They were the only two boxes in the lot. I went to a charity sale and got Microsoft Office 2003: Student & Teacher edition for a whole dime. It's seal is unbroken so maybe I'll be lucky and it'll turn out to be unused. They seem to sell for a lot on eBay.

About our competition: Picture a large woman with an awful skin condition and a scraggly bearded skinny guy and you have 2 people that we "combat" at garage sales. By "combat" I mean these guys are seriously awful people and they happen to buy the same stuff that myself and my dad buys at sales. My dad saw these people STEALING FROM A GARAGE SALE early in the morning. They tend to act crazy when they see us at a garage sale first. Trust me, these people are crazy and ridiculous.

Aside from video games a I found box of 6 or so wireless microphone receivers for $15. Among them was a Shure ULXP4 worth around $200-300 on eBay. Score! I also got some Telex microphone stuff worth a bit and some jewelry. I also found a really old automatic flipping electric toaster worth $30 and a Stangl pottery bird worth I think around $50. Not a bad garage sale day I think, just bad for video game stuff.

i kept getting cds all day, i think i got about 400 total on the day,

i got 13 dvd complete seasons, desperate housewives, csi, south park, simpsons, sex and the city, i paid 40 total for them.

got a luxman amp and athena speakers,

last sale of the day got about 50 star trek and star wars audiobooks, as well as about about another 25 that were on cd, the others cassette. for 30 total.

also got a turntable for 5

at a church sale got a micosoft 360 steeling wheel and pedals for 3 bucks.

i passed on a sp with 12 games for 40. i really thought about it.

o ya also got an oreck xl air cleaner for 10, they sell for about 299 or 399.

There is a ton more stuff thats all i can think of right now. lol.

Hit a few sales this morning. There wasn't much at all; mostly stuff I either already owned or was overpriced. I tried to go to one I saw that advertised video game stuff, though apparently they canceled at the last minute; I went there about 5 minutes after they where supposed to open, but they didn't have anything out or any signs signifying there was supposed to be a sale there.

Anyway, here's what I did find (All from garage sales unless stated otherwise):
- Pokémon FireRed (GBA. Loose in very good condition): $25 (From Gamestop, after stacking some discounts)
- Tetris (NES. Loose): $1
- Microsoft Entertainment Pack Sampler (PC. Loose): $.10
- Zelda LCD game watch (Loose): Gift from my brother-in-law
- Some assorted Avatar: The Last Airbender DVDs (Everything up to the first disc of the 2nd season): $5

The LCD watch hasn't been tested yet, but it does look more fateful to traditional Zelda games than the actual Nintendo-made Game & Watch (Which I have a Mini Classics reproduction of).

We had a neighborhood yard sale here this morning. I got out at 7:30 to beat the rush and hit eleven houses. Unfortunately, this neighborhood is swarmed with older couples so I didn't see a thing game-related. What a waste of time and getting up early.

After I got a haircut, I drove past a tent sale set up in a vacant lot around 3 p.m. this afternoon. Immediately, I rounded the corner to check it out. I looked around and saw nothing game-related. When I walked up to the table, there were seven loose Game Boy carts in pristine condition next to the cash box.

They were:
Caesar's Palace
Double Dragon
Final Fantasy Legend
Play Action Football
Radar Mission
Super Mario Land
Tennis

I said, "How much?" The lady behind the counter said, "I don't know. They're for the old Game Boy. Does a quarter each sound fair to you?" I said, "Hmm, well, I guess..." ;)

So, for $1.75, I got the whole lot! Time to fire up the GameCube Game Boy Player!!!

How much did you get all that for?

Its hard to give an exact price, it took a few years to acquire, i never pay more than 5 or 10 for a system, and i always usually make my money back on the games that come with them, so to be honest i have very little into them. I have a few hundred games too i have amassed.

the craziest thing is my plugs and controllers. I have 3 giant boxes just filled with controllers, a box of zappers, a box of power adapters, a box of rf and av cables, lol you get the idea. I have way more plugs and controllers than i need for all the systems shown.

I didn't think it was worth taking another pictures when I noticed how bad this one was since all/most of the games are rather common.

$7

I saw 1 On 1 out at this sale and had to look at it for a few seconds before I figured out what computer system it was for. This is the first (and probably the last) C64 game I've found in the wild. 2 older ladies were running this sale and when I asked about games the one said she had something but wasen't sure exactly what system it was and brought out the box with this Atari stuff in it. I looked it over and offered $5 which was countered with $7 I in turn offered $7 for the Atari stuff with the C64 game included and ended up just paying $7 for the Atari stuff and coughing up the extra buck asking price for the C64 game since it belonged to the other lady running the sale.

NES System With RF Adaptor, AC Adaptor & 2 1st Party Controllers

Games

10-Yard Fight
Battletoads
Cobra Triangle
Excitebike
Ice Hockey
The Legend of Zelda
Life Force
Marble Madness
Metroid
Popeye
Super Mario Bros. (x2)
Super Sprint
(Also 6-7 sleeves with the games)

$20

Saw this sitting out at a sale (behind some PS2 sports games) that wasen't advertised in the paper that I ran into. I looked it over and offered $5 since it didn't have a price on it. The lady said they were asking $20 and wouldn't do it, I tried again this time CIFing a $10 bill, no go didn't phase her one bit. I asked her what the best she was willing to do was and it was pretty apparent that she wasen't dropping the price on the NES with games one cent and I ended up jokingly letting her know that she was killing me at $20 as I paid her since I only had about a dozen in 1s left now and some change.

PSOne With Hookups & 1 1st Party Controller - $2

Didn't even bother to include this in the picture. They were asking $5 and took $2 when I pointed out that the lid didn't latch shut right, I probably would have left it behind but my one friend has been asking me to grab a PSOne if I run across one cheap and I figured I'd take a chance on this one at $2.

Twisted Metal: Black - $2

Asking price was $2, saw about a dozen games at this sale late in the day only other game I remember that wasen't crap or really common was Rygar. This is really no big deal but it was a nice little find for me since it'll replace my copy without a manual which was really bothering me since I only have a few PS2 games missing manuals.

New arcade machine pics, as promised. I'm not keeping it looking that way (going to convert it to a Galaga machine):

Pretty good day today. Here is what I found:
...SNES model 2
Did the SNES 2 come with controllers and cables or is it just the unit itself? Nice fine anyway.

Porksta

No controllers, but I am sure when I go back I will find the cords somewhere.

I keep forgetting to keep a Model 2 I find and sell the regular one I have since the Model 2 doesn't use RF and as such is easier to connect. Figures the one time I remember to keep the Model 2 it is a dirty one. Some cleaning ought to help though.

I don't understand. Why is a model 2 easier? Same cable, right? Also, the model 2 does not support s-video.

Why are video game consoles the only electronics that can get away with these ridiculous connectors? Okay, cell phones and cameras, too. I mean, why doesn't my LG DVD player require a special piece of molded plastic on the end of a cable in order to connect to my TV? Maybe I shouldn't be saying that out loud where 'they' can hear...

NayusDante

What do you mean "easier to connect?" I thought that SNES through GCN used the same composite cable. Is the SNES2 different?

Edit: I need to type faster. Cornelius beat me to it.

Tonight I picked up a few things:
- Walmart was selling Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney brand new for $10
- Someone on a local board was selling three PS2 games for $10 total: God of War II, Gran Turismo 4 and Killzone - not bad for 10 bucks :)

A Model 2 uses the Red/Yellow/White (AV?) cords. To play the regular SNES I currently have, I have to unplug the cable each time I want to play it (yes I know I can plug the cable into the SNES cord, but the picture isn't great). Since the Model 2 uses R/Y/W, I just plug those into the front of the television and I am set. Cable stays intact and I can flip from game to the TV and back again.

A model 1 can use that same r/y/w cable, though. Yeah, typically it is called an a/v cable.

Nayus is right, the same cable can be used on the SNES1, SNES2, N64, and GCN. Have a look at the back of your SNES1 and SNES2 side by side and you'll see what we are talking about.

That's true for the AV cable, but not if you're using S-Video. As was pointed out, you can't use S-Video on a SNES2.

Oh my god, I never noticed that the Model 1 also has a place for the AV cords. Well I guess I will keep the Model 1 I have since the redesign is worth more. That, and it is cleaner. Thanks DP!

The only Nintendo console that "requires" RF is the NES2. No excuse to forego composite on anything else. ^_^

PlayStation:
The Dukes of Hazzard: Racing For Home (complete, non-GH)
Incredible Crisis! (complete)

Dreamcast:
Sega Rally 2 (complete)

Another garage sale day..This time with the wife, so I had to hold back. lol.

Passed on a box of PC Adventure games..thought I had them all, but later learned that I did in fact need the King's Quest III: Perils of Rosella..Ah well..That same garage sale, I snagged a CIB Game Gear (even has wrist strap in original baggie!) w/ Sonic 2 and Choplifter III(CIB) for $5 (orig. $10).

Then nothing until the last garage sale of the day...Only reason we went to it was that the name of the street it was on was the same as my first name("Honey! I got a good feeling about this one!"). Found the following NES games there:

Faxanadu
Mario/Duck Hunt
Mario 3
Captain Skyhawk
Gauntlet 2
Adventure Island 2
Battletoads

No price on them. Wife found an OPI Acrylic set for $10, and I only had another $5 on me...went up to the older woman who I thought was running the show and asked how much the games were...She said to her daughter "How much are these Nintendo games? Weren't you selling these for $5 a piece?" (Insert my eyes bugging outta my head here). Long story short, I merely said I only had another $5 on me and the daughter accepted and I thought her mother was going to murder me. I realize they're common games, but I needed some more software for the boxed NeS from a few days ago. :D

Oh, and yesterday I went back to the garage sale where I got the NES and Sega CD/Genny/Snatcher lot and they still had the Atari 7800 w/ "25-30" games. Still at $25. I took one glance at it and they said I could have it for $10. Snapped it up, took it back to the office and discovered 50 games total(39 2600 games & 11 7800 games). The list I made is at work and my camera's dead at the moment, but I shall get pics by the end of the week as I know some people are going to doubt me. :D

You've got your KQ numbering wrong:

King's Quest III - To Heir is Human
King's Quest IV - The Perils of Rosella

Or maybe you found something odd... Prince Alexander HAS been known to dress up as a woman.

My bad. Brain was a little confuzzled when I typed that.

Oh, i forgot to mention I also found a 6 pack of beer for $6 at a liquor store. That would explain the brain fart. lol. Thanks for the correction. :)

All I can say is that I've had one up on ebay for like two bucks with a few dollars shipping for almost a month, and nobody's bought it from me. It also got no bids when I put it up for 99 cents. A cool item that nobody is looking for.

Last 72 hour finds: I have been getting stuff the past three days, I am now tired and will share most of it. I might post pictures of my room, its a maze to get in.

400 albums: I got these back from a friend of mine that picked out 20. They were stored at his house till I could make room. I only payed 40 for the lot before I stored it at my friends house.

Turbo Grafx 16: Missing RF but in box with Bonks Adventure, Football, Bloody Wolf, R Type. Payed $30 with also a trade for a Yellow SNES of mine.

3 Atari Lot: 7800 with the Expansion Interface on the side, Sunnydale 4 Switch, Sears Tele Games Heavy Sixer. 70+ games Nothing too rare but I did get a label variant of Pac Man with the date 1987.

Super Action Controller for Colecovision

Ogre Battle 64, Golden Eye, Super Mario 64, Wave Race, Pokemon Stadium, Ocarina of Time. $1 each

Various RF boxes for Sega and Nintendo

N64 controllers

Final Fantasy Tactics black label $2

Vandal Hearts black Label $2

Golf for 3D0

Random Master System, Dreamcast, Nintendo NES Games

Probably more but I haven't had a lot of sleep to care anymore to type. I placed some Who on the record player and going to clean up the Atari mess.
