Received a Pit Fighter PCB on Monday. Would take a picture but it's a game board so it's not exactly exciting looking.

How hard was it to move it? Or is it one of the machine that breaks in two for easier transport? I know the two Atari cabs at my house were heavy enough to move.

If I would've had a liftgate, it would've been easy--a uhaul with a ramp would've been good too. As it was, I had a cargo van and had to take it apart into several pieces. Overall, it was worth it. My Golden Tee 2003 machine is more of a chore, that thing is really heavy.

Last weekend wasn't too exciting for finds, so I didn't get up the energy to post, which is bad, because if I don't post here then I usually forget to log things in my sheet where I track my purchases/sales. Anyway, got a nice VB lot off CL today, so I'm playing catch-up.

Last Friday:
http://i707.photobucket.com/albums/ww75/evanwink42/finds166.jpg
-SNES and NES games were at a sale with a bunch of others and some genesis games + console. Gen and SNES games were 2 each, NES 1. The guy said these were his dupes, and it was late morning, so not surprising there wasn't much good stuff left. (Veediots, Mystical Ninja, Aero Acrobat 2, Magician). I got the NES game thrown in free.
-PCMCIA wireless card was $1, but these were crappy cards from linksys, and I can't get it working in win2000 (the lappy I need it for). Also at that sale, but not pictured, I got a typical NES package w/ 3 games: Blades of Steel, Tecmo Bowl, and some other junk game all for $2. I'm dumb and didn't check for the ac adapter which was missing, but he was talking about playing it the night before, so could have grabbed it if I'd noticed.
-The rest in the picture (couple a/v cords, New/Sealed Photoshop Elements 4.0, Router, Dell charger for my lappy (extra), and MS works Suite 2001) cost me $0.25. Everything was in their free bin except the Works Suite which was a quarter. I felt bad for ravaging the free box so much, so I went back to look more and looked over the CDs again and saw a White Stripes album I hadn't seen the first time, which I paid a buck for.

http://i707.photobucket.com/albums/ww75/evanwink42/finds166a.jpg
360 Rock Band bundle was 20 bucks at a garage sale. They basically said the rock band set works great. 360? not so much. Don't have a 360, so can't test the mic, but everything else works fine and the disc is in nice shape.

This morning at a thrift (went to four and 3 were a complete bust):
http://i707.photobucket.com/albums/ww75/evanwink42/finds167.jpg
Total for these was $6.39. They also had all 5 Baldur's Gate discs, but the original owner had printed labels and put them each in their own jewel case, so they were of course marked individually at $1.40 each, and $7 seemed too much for a completely loose copy. Same deal with the Leisure Suit Larry: Ultimate Pleasure Pack they had.

And then early this afternoon I happened across this on CL within 10 or 15 minutes of being posted:
http://i707.photobucket.com/albums/ww75/evanwink42/finds168a.jpg

and so you can see the games:
http://i707.photobucket.com/albums/ww75/evanwink42/finds168b.jpg

Emailed and gave my phone number and was called within 2 minutes of sending. She was actually in the process of adding pictures and another game to the ad. Went and picked it up right then and paid the asking price of $60. Really nice people that were very happy to have a quick sale. I feel a little bad because she was saying how her (now 25 yr old) son used to get sucked into that thing for hours, and her grown daughter that was there remembered playing a couple times but only getting frustrated with it. If they are like me, they'll wish they had it back one day (which is why I feel bad), but you never know for sure... plenty of people ditch their games and never think of them again.

This leaves me with just (:o) the two rarest VB titles to have a complete US set. Oh, and this VB works perfectly, stand isn't broken or cracked, and has both battery pack and a/c adapter.

p.s. looking at closed ebay listings I missed a sweet VB Waterworld poster (http://cgi.ebay.com/WATER-WORLD-POSTER-Nintendo-Virtual-Boy-Waterworld_W0QQitemZ360159077845QQcmdZViewItemQQpt ZVideo_Games_Accessories?hash=item53db2765d5&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=65%3A13|66%3A2|39%3A1|240%3A1318|301%3A1 |293%3A1|294%3A50) that only went for $4.50 shipped!

edit: This VB lot actually cost me a bit more than $60, though not in cash. It was about 1.30 or so when I left to get it. My 2.5 yr. old son takes a nap around 2pm usually, so this meant he'd fall asleep in the car. So there and the slow way back meant about a 45 minute nap, and no chance of getting him to take a 'real' one (normally 2+ hours). He was actually surprisingly good the rest of the day, so well worth it! Part of it was that he LOVED the rock band drums that I was testing on the computer (neat that you can do that so easily, same w/ guitar, which works with Frets of Fire). Making me think twice about selling the set.

Waterworld and Nester's?

Waterworld and Jack Bros. Even if I'd paid eBay prices for all the rest, these two would probably still cost as much. I'll be keeping an eye out, though, cause it would be cool to actually have a complete set (it'd be my first).

In case anyone cares, out of these games I didn't already have Tetris, Vertical Force, and Baseball. Plus a bunch of the manuals.

Thanks! It works fine as well. Guess I should've figured I could just plug it in, since that's all you really have to do with the other parts, it just didn't occur to me for some reason.

Not too bad. You can BIN one for $21 right now, and a CIB one sold for about that recently. This one is extra for me, so I may be looking to sell.

Todays Goodwill finds:

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas(PS2)
Dragon Warrior VII(PS1)
Castlevania: Symphony of The Night(PS1)
Dino Crisis 2(PS1)

Grand total was $12 and everything was in super mint condition, as in never been touched. I think someone gave the games to Goodwill factory sealed and they just decided to open them for the hell of it before putting them on the sales floor. But they definitely have never been played.

Dodge 'em, Fire Fighter, Atlantis, Solaris, Astro smash, Space Attack, Super Football, Pete Rose Baseball and more I cant remember. I will list once I get my list off my old computer. (Got a new laptop today :D )

Many of them have wierd cartridges. Some are Coleco made, some look like intellivision carts with atari connects slapped on.

The Genesis game was Championship Pool and the NES game was GOLF.

their were more than 2 rpgs that I passed on, on top of my add and adhd I was hungry as hell and it was hard to pay attention. I know I passed on saga frontier I may have passed on xenogears, not completely sure, parasite eve mabie, saga frontier 2, vagrant story. I can give you the location of the half price books if you want me to.

I'm on the East coast buddy, thanks for thinking of me though. If you manage to scrounge up more money, definitely go back ASAP for the SaGa games and Vagrant Story.

Third parties couldn't copy Atari's cart shells, so they created their own. In the case of the M-Network carts, Mattel just used Intellivision cart shells and attached them to an adapter shell. And that's why they're (imo) the worst looking third party 2600 carts.

I find it catchy, and it rolls of my tongue.

What are Dr. Robotnik's beans doing in your mouth?

Ummmm... There's GBA-GCN cables, and then there's a special one for the GB Micro (more rare, I'm sure). Those are the only two that I know of. GBA and GBA SP both use the same cable.

There isn't one for GB micro. This I'm certain about. If you see one in the wild, someone took a regular GBA/GBA SP - GCN cable and spliced it with a GB micro link cable. There are a few different versions of the GBA/GBA SP - GCN cable though:

-Official Nintendo one (purple with a white cord, clips to system)
-Nyko (white with a purple cord, clips to system)
-Pelican brand (plugs in like a normal link cable, also works as GBA-GBA cable)
-Gamestop brand (same style as the Pelican one)

The main draw about the Pelican and Gamestop branded cables as that they don't block the GBA SP's ACC2 port, so you can charge your system while using it. The Nyko one was made well before GBA SP was released, so if it's used on an SP it'll hold down the shoulder buttons.

Awesome!! How much did it cost?,how's it work..

Tell me about it..

It cost about $600 after 15% added on for taxes and auction fees. If you've ever been to a Gameworks or Namco Arcade, they probably have had something like this, either a 2 players linked Indy 500 or Daytona USA. I haven't had a chance to put it together and play it yet because I have to put a concrete floor down in my garage first. One side of my garage will be a game room. So far, I have this along with a Golden Tee 2003, Punch-Out, Paperboy, Star Wars Trilogy, Super Offroad, a 50" NFL Blitz 2000/NBA Showtime, a Megatouch Gold, and an Arachnid Galaxy coin-operated dartboard. They're mostly in storage until I complete the garage.:bad-words:

I haven't even played it yet, keyboard is in the mail. I'd borrowed one from a friend, but I gave it back to him yesterday when I set up his PC-Dreamcast server.

The game's actually pretty playable once it finishes loading. I've never played PSO... just try it out. Play the training scenario. You'll be pulling your hair out in minutes.

As for me, I found a really good scanner today - a Microtek Scanmaker i320 - for $3. The thing looked to be brand new, but there was a problem: The drive belt came off. So I figured, I open it and put it back into place, right?

Well, I would. If there WAS ANY WAY TO OPEN THIS THING. Apparently Microtek made it so nobody but one of their techs could open it. Nobody on the internet seems to know how to open it. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH...

You could break it open and make a camera (http://www.sentex.net/~mwandel/tech/scanner.html) out of it.

Today I picked up a Super Pac-Man plug-and-play joystick for 65¢ (!), and a Radio Shack 'Pocket Repeat', amazingly with the battery door still on it, for $1.19.

Later I stopped off at a Movie Trading Company and bought Grandia II for $14.99 and Elemental Gimmick Gear for $12.99, both for the Dreamcast. I've been interested in Grandia II since I found one locked up in a cage at one of my favorite thrifts priced at 99¢, and it turns out the case was empty. :( And I can't remember which other game I saw there, but it didn't matter since there was an NFL2K disc inside.

Grandia II is probably my favorite RPG from a dev that isn't Square. I picked up the PC version when it came out, not knowing it was originally on Dreamcast. It's an amazing game, and I've been really wanting to replay it. The PC version had a lot of odd problems, so I've been holding out to play the original. The game actually ruined its own story for me when the textures got loaded wrong, and the text from the next cutscene loaded instead of an area's water textures. Spoilers literally floated down the river.

I recently picked it up on DC, and it just feels better on there.

I'm quite a bit behind on posting these, so here goes. First pic is from last Friday:

http://img44.imageshack.us/img44/4353/img5570.jpg (http://img44.imageshack.us/i/img5570.jpg/)

Sega Dreamcast official gun (japanese DC only) - $12 each
Interact Starfire Dreamcast gun - $10
2 purple Gamecube controllers (one Nintendo, one not) - $1.49 each
GBA light/magnifier by Madcatz (not pictured) - .97 cents
Nintendo Wavebird GC controller - $9.99
All of the above was from FX Game Exchange except the wireless GC controller (Movie Trading Co.)

This group is from Half Price Books, from Monday:

http://img44.imageshack.us/img44/9964/img5572.th.jpg (http://img44.imageshack.us/i/img5572.jpg/)

Pitfall: Lost Expedition (Xbox)
Black (Xbox)
Starsky and Hutch (xbox)
Mercenaries (Xbox)
Burnout 2: Point of Impact (Xbox)
Spongebob: Revenge of the Flying Dutchman (PS2)
Mario Superstar Baseball (GC)
Need for Speed II (PS1)
All of these were $2 each except for Pitfall ($3.98) and NFS ($1).

Lastly, I went to a different HPB yesterday and found this lot:

http://img44.imageshack.us/img44/8876/img5575.jpg (http://img44.imageshack.us/i/img5575.jpg/)

All of these games were $1 each on super clearance. They just wanted to get rid of them. Unfortunately most of the really good ones that they used to have were gone. STill, nice to find complete, non-GH PS games for $1 each.

Goodwill Hunter

A good, cheap find at Goodwill today. Saw a big bag with 2600 games in the locked case. It was directly under the $74.99 bagged 2600 with 5 games that’s been there for a month. Was expecting another overpriced bundle, but I then saw that it was nothing but games, and oddly enough, they all seemed to be individually priced at 99 cents. Had the girl there open the case, and was stunned to see the whole bag marked only $9.99.

http://img190.imageshack.us/img190/9523/2600bag.jpg

I guessed that there were at least 30 games in there and the ones I could see were clean, so I got it without much further inspection. Turned out it was double that number:

http://img190.imageshack.us/img190/7713/2600spread.jpg

The only downside to getting games at 17 cents a pop will be taking off the price stickers which were on almost all of the front labels of the games. A number of duplicates in there, so I’m guessing that they combined a few 2600 lots into this bag. Some decent titles like Worm War I, Name This Game, and Buck Rodgers x2…but the class of the find was this:

http://img190.imageshack.us/img190/6111/2600find.jpg

Best 17 cents I’ve spent in a while!

Stuff I've gotten this month so far:

Game Boy
--
Ninja Gaiden Shadow (cart only)
Mercenary Force (cart only)

NES
--
Maxi 15 (cart only, peeling end label)

PC
--
American McGee's Alice
Clive Barker's Undying (both combined in the small fold-out 2-pack edition, complete (that is, with box and jewelcases).)

(It was $12 total for the five games above combined.)

Genesis
--
Alien Storm (complete, $4.50)

Dreamcast
--
Tokyo Xtreme Racer 2 (complete, $1)

And finally, what I just found today.
On the one hand, I got an amazing deal on a pretty good game...

But on the other hand, the battery is completely dead, so turn it off and a minute later your file is gone. What do I have to do, leave my SNES on for two weeks again? :(

SNES
--
Kirby's Dream Land 3 ($2, cart only)

... For that price I really can't complain, given that on EBay it goes for $20-$35 in general, but it is really too bad. It does make me wonder, though... this one's from 1997, the last first-party release in the US on the system. I have many older games with working batteries, including every one of my battery-backed Genesis games. Why is this one dead? Why do some games last like 20 or 25 years with one battery, while other batteries are dead five or ten years later? It's pretty strange, really.

Oh, I also had to clean it a lot to get it working, so the contacts had obviously gotten very dirty... no idea if that had any effect on the saving, though.

Got home today, and on the front porch I found my xbox 360 rockband 2 special edition that I won from the pepsi contest about a week and a half ago. So that was pretty cool

Did you get that turbo duo system as part of the deal?

Whats the deal with the game alice, it used to be a dime a dozen, has it become rare all of a sudden?

Nope. But it's in high demand. I've sold CD + key only copies for $30, and the version you got can sell for at least $50, if complete.

The Mac version is very, VERY rare and much more valuable.

Now you're the migggity migggity miggidy mack diggity diggity diggity daddy of KRISS KROSS collecting!

As much as I'd like to offer on just a few games in there (if/when you decide to sell), it might be a good idea to put together "value packs" with one of each game you have doubles/dozens of. It would be REALLY hard to sell Kriss Kross 50x with $5 shipping every time.

Screw FF7s, I want to build a scale Midgar out of Doom 32X and Kriss Kross.

im curious, what games were in the book?

Nothing amazing, I got mostly racing games, Test Drive Offroad, Speed Punks, some snowmobile and dirtbike games. About 5 or so sports games, Tomb Raider, Crash Bandicoot. Namco Museum vol 1, I also got a few X box games, Battlefield 2, Spiderman 2 NCAA 06. Mostly common stuff but worth it nonetheless for $5.

its not mine kitsune, i was just curious, i remember when i was younger when i bought warcraft III when it came out they had alice in the bargain rack at walmart, they had at least 40 copies for like 4.99 each. I could of made a fortune, wow its just crazy. I bet big lots probably gets truckloads of that game, lol. It was not popular really when it came out at all, was it?

Anyways went to a few garage sales today, got 2 fly motocross helmets and a polk audio powered subwoofer for 40 total.

Also got a brand new in the box nascar thrustmaster steering wheel and pedals for pc, with the games nascar racing 2 and 3 both mint in the box for 15. I thought they would be pretty expensive online but the games are pretty much worthless and the wheel and pedals might be worth about 25.

My first big find of the weekend came at the last house i went to, i got about 150 cds for $50. They are all pretty much mint and good artists. There was a guy in front of me who had already picked out 13, he was trying to grab what he thought was good. Then i bought the rest.

I know about that budget copy; that's the version I bought about four years ago while I was up in Tennessee visiting relatives. It cost me like eight bucks back then.

I just got some stuff I left at mom's place last Wednesday, so I'll be posting some pictures later today.

Got a loose GCN Gameboy player and a nice media storage tower today at lunch at GW for 3.99 each. Now I just need the boot disc.

There was also a loose, kinda beat up N64 for 9.99, and a boxed but incomplete platinum Gamecube for 19.99, but I left those behind. The GC looked to be in good shape, but it was analog output only, and there was no controller. If it's still there later I might pick it up, maybe find a controller to make it complete, but... meh.

I really want that mortal kombat vs dc, what a steal at $5.

I saw it on clearance at target but they still want 29 or 39.

My local targets still price their clearance games pretty high.

I almost picked that up when CompUSA did their liquidation, but it was $7 and I really felt more like looking for it at around $4 or so. I definitely want to find it, though.

Sealed Heavy Metal Geomatrix came today. Were those movies any good?

Yeah, I was definitely surprised by the cost. There were no tags on the games so I asked and that's what the lady at the counter quoted. I figured I won't likely ever get a better deal so I grabbed'em. There were actually several Xbox games in the stack I shoulda picked up: Stubbs, Land of the Dead, KOTOR 1 & 2. I may go back and get those soon for trade bait.

The Calexico Wal-Mart is awful about clearance games. Sure, they have Singstar Amped for $6. But then they have Fallout 3 Collector's Edition for the 360 and PS3 for $75 in the clearance area. Buh?

This week's finds:

From Wednesday --

http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j238/foxhack/DP/dp-2009-06-17a.jpg
A booth vendor that has the same name as I do had a ton of CDs out. Lots of Jazz and religious stuff, but I found these mixed in. $1 each. Loads of good stuff in there, he usually sets up shop again on Saturday so I'll take another look. That Chipmunks CD appears to be very rare - there's copies for sale on Amazon for $36. It's creepy as hell. The Chipmunks sing a bunch of decent songs, but Girls Want To Have Fun? A Whitney Houston song? And worse of all, a song about how a Chipmunk is a biker's girlfriend?! AGH &@$&#@&@$

http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j238/foxhack/DP/dp-2009-06-17b.jpg
$5. Brand new. I had no idea this thing was worthless. I should've bought Singstar ABBA. :P Anyone wants it? It's up for trade.

http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j238/foxhack/DP/dp-2009-06-17c.jpg

All of that for $5! The booth owner offered them for $2 each so I was only going to take a few. But then he said "Know what? Gimme $5 for all of 'em." I went o_O and asked why. He said "Well nobody ever buys those things, a few are always left behind, so take 'em." Whee!

Uru Complete Chronicles is worth a few bucks, but there's actally a lot of "defective" discs. Certain disc drives can't read them. I bought a copy knowing that, and it turned into a headache when the seller refused to send it because of the defect. I eventually found a less informed seller, and found a DVD drive that read the discs. Try yours in at least two drives if you intend to sell it.
