i have gotten 3 of copies of the sims 3 for $6 each over the past couple weeks, all from goodwill, they must be getting a bunch of them.

Goodwill seems to get a LOT of those copies of that one DS game too, rhythm something I think it's called. Don't remember off the top of my head.
And nice PS3 deal, that's pretty much highway robbery right there.

yea at my goodwill we get "greyware" code name for target crap. we pay target so much a month and they have to to send us so many pallets of stuff. sometimes we get price change salvage which is the good stuff or just random stuff or we get salvage salvage which is returned broken crap we try to sell. the managers are only allowed to price the greyware and they mostly they have to do half of the original retail price. which is why most target stuff is almost the same as the stores or my managers decide to be asshats and price it almost or the same as retail. or well thats what happens at my goodwill

It's probably the Agetec title Rhythm N' Notes. :wink 2:
The only store I was ever able to find it at was Kay-Bee Toys. Being a fan of old Agetec games, I snapped it up and haven't seen it since. It could be that some unsold copies ended up in Goodwill's lap.

The Goodwill in Renton, WA has a big ol' stack of these as well.
What's the deal with this game? Did it sit on retail shelves unsold for a year before stores just dumped them for the tax write off? Did they ever even make it into the normal distribution chain? Is it even worth asking and answering these questions for a game such as this?

No these games aren't that old, maybe only from last fall. But yeah they don't really sell at all. During the holidays some people buy them for their daughters but that's about it.

My latest thrift store finds:
Revenge of Shinobi (Sega Classics release, case and cart only) $2.99
The Art of Pokemon the First Movie $1.99 - I was reading this earlier today, and realized that the dialog in the book wasn't the same as english dub. (The book describes different parts of the movie with a bit of dialog from the scenes included as well.) The publishing info in the front of the book shows credits for translation and also states the following: "First published by Shogakukan, Inc. in Japan". This leads me to believe that the dialog shown in the book is actually translated from the Japanese version of the film.
Sega Game Gear Battery Pack $1.25 - It's missing the A/C adapter. However, I have a generic adapter that I've using with my GG for years without a problem. According to some directions I found online, I'm supposed to plug in the adapter, put the switch in the ON position, and let charge until the light goes out. I gave it a shot, and light did come on. I'll have to try giving it a proper charge tomorrow when I've more time.

Dug around at my local Salvation Army and found Defender, Fishing Derby, Berzerk, and Combat for the Atari 2600. They were bundled together and $1 for all 4. I usually wouldn't buy some common Atari 2600 games that I already had, but they were all picture labels and in very nice shape, which I thought was a good reason to pick them up. I also found Aqua Teen Hunger Force volume 1 for $1 which was nice.

Had a nice haul today at the local flea market before work:
-Revenge of Shinobi Sega Classic Version (complete) GEN
-The Lion King (boxed) GEN
-Sonic (boxed but with a golden axe ii manual ) GEN
-Sonic 2 (Complete with 2 manuals ) GEN
-Kirby's Avalance (cart) SNES
-Kirby's Adventure (cart) NES
-Spy Hunter (cart) NES
TOTAL: $15
First guy had a bunch of games for $3-5 each. I grabbed a bunch of games CIF $10 he countered with $20. I countered with $15. He said no. Started to walk away and he changed his mind.
-Jurassic Park (complete) GEN
-Dick Tracy (Boxed) GEN
-Sonic 3 (Cart) GEN
-6-Pak (cart) GEN
TOTAL: $8
Second person had Genesis games for $3 each, I offered $8, they accepted. Left a bunch of sports games.
-Sonic & Knuckles (cart) GEN
-Shinobi III (cart) GEN
TOTAL: $5
Third person had a bunch of Madden 90 somethings and other sports games. Picked these 2 out CIF'd $5 which was accepted.
I saw another vendor with good genesis games (Strider, Vectorman 1/2, Strider, Comix Zone, and so on but at $15 each and immune to CIF, I had to pass)
I think it was a pretty good haul for me even though it's not as good as some. I wanted to started a Genesis collection recently and I think this gave me a good start. I got the 4 main sonic games and some other good games.

I saw like 10 copies of guitar hero III for xbox 360 at goodwill for 5.50, of course new and sealed target returns, were priced 7.48 from target, they just came in today. Man that game has really crashed in value. I did not need any more copies of it.

I got a crystal xbox with all cables and a green translucent controller. I'm going to install XBMC on in. I've already got a crystal xbox, but the DVD drive is a little friggy. My current one has already been softmodded for XBMC. I'll give that one to my sister's family to use as a media center.

I also paid $25.00 for the following games:
NES:
Double Dragon II (complete)
Maniac Mansion (loose, but with green NES case)
Super NES:
Super Metroid (loose)
F-Zero (loose)
Nintendo 64:

The seller said that if he can find the instructions for Banjo-Tooie, he'll let me know so I can have those too :)

I hit up my local Goodwill today and they actually had some stuff. Someone must have brought in a big Genesis bundle because they had the hardware and software separate. The games were $1 each and I only grabbed Mickey Mania, Sonic 3 and Sonic & Knuckles. They had a box with a model 1, a model 2, and a 32x unit with some cords and controllers for $10. If I had the extra money, I may have thought about getting it. They also had almost the full series of King's Quest computer games for $2 each. Thought about getting them too. May go back and see if they have them.

If you're going to get the 32X, just be damn sure it's got all the required cords (in particular that little one that goes from the genesis to the 32X), otherwise it's worthless.

I'm here in North Louisiana visiting family, and I've spent my free time hitting thrifts across the top half of the state. And I've found nothing game related in any of them. The only thing I bought was at a Game Exchange, a copy of Risky Woods for the Genesis, Battlecorps for the Sega CD (broken hinges) and a sweet light gun that has plugs for the PS1 and Saturn on it, and it's all black except for a little silver bit where the bullet casings are supposed to be ejected from on a real gun. It doesn't have that orange tip on the barrel to let people know it's not real. Usually light guns look nothing like a real gun, this one could get me shot if police officers saw me with it. Nice.

Still sad about that. Saturn stuff is hard enough to find down here. Saturn PADS doubly so. I only have that 3D Controller, I want a regular gamepad. :|
Opposite here. When I got my Saturn last year, it was bundled with two of the model 2 Saturn controllers. Other than the Dreamcast controllers, they're probably the nicest controllers Sega ever made. Thing is, I want a 3D controller already!
Gameboy E-Reader bundle! Came with the box, the GB Advance Indigo system, the e-Reader, all the manuals, 5 DK Jr. cards, and 3 other cards. The box didn't have any of the packing material, but that's cool.
Total cost - $19
Very nice find. Where did you find it? Also, your system didn't come with Urban Champion? I thought Urban Champion was a pack-in game. Be warned that nobody really trades around e-Reader cards so good luck finding them! Best bet is to ask a friend who collects Pokemon cards if he/she has any Pokemon e-cards, so you'll at least have some.

This bundle was in the bargain bin at a very overpriced game store for a long time - probably a year or more. It used to be $49 and then I went in that day, it was marked at $19 so I grabbed it. I had been watching it for awhile and it just never came down from $49 until last week. No Urban Champion on either the packaging or included, so I'm not sure if it was supposed to be there or not.
One of my local Gamestops had some of the e-reader card packs on their wall up until a few months ago, so my plan is to go back and see if they still have some in their backstock somewhere. My kids have tons of pokemon cards, but I'll have to ask if they have any e-cards. Did they come packed in to regular card packs?
Thanks

They were just regular Pokemon cards back during their release. They came in six different boosters:
-Expedition
-Aquapolis
-Skyridge
-Ruby and Sapphire
-EX Sandstorm
-EX Dragon
Dot code:

No dote code:

Also, on a sidenote, see how the Sneasel has two strips of code? The small strip on the bottom contains its Pokedex data, while the strip on the left contains part of an application. When certain cards are scanned together, they can make music similar to a looping program, or allow you to play a minigame.
These guides (http://www.gamefaqs.com/portable/ereader/game/915738.html) on GameFAQs explain things very well. You have to give that guy props.

Yes, Prince of Persia is finally down to $7.48 at Target. Fear 2, Chronicles of Riddick, Ninja Blade and a few others will be in the $7.48-$14.98 price range very soon too. As for Star Wars: TFU, I got it from Game Crazy, which is basically Hollywood Video. Gamefly had it for $14.99 a few months ago, but that was for used copies. I prefer my games factory sealed so thats why I waited.

Wish we had target up here in Canada...I want Riddick and Ninja Blade for that price, dammit! lol.

i went back by the Goodwill today to check on the computer games that I saw the other day. The Sega stuff was gone, but someone had brought in some PS1 stuff. They had some magazine demos and stuff, but for $3.33 each, I thought it was a bit much. I did pick up the following PC games for $2 each:
King's Quest II
King's Quest IV
King's Quest V
King's Quest VI
King's Quest VII
Quest for Glory I
The Beast Within
And I grabbed one PS1 game, Intelligent Qube for $3.33. Not a bad day.

Toys R Us currently has dropped the price of Ninja Blade to $19.99, which is the same clearance price Target currently has it at. So your Toys R Us should atleast have a good deal on it.

Picked up Super Wrestlemania, Jim Power, Jurassic Park 2, and Thunder Spirits (SNES) all boxed with trays at GW for 2.99 each. Super Wrestlemania has the manual, and JP2 actually has the manuals for JP1 and 2 in the box. One game was in the puzzles and the others were mixed in with the VHS tapes.

I picked a few things at my local pawn:
Grandia III (PS2) for $7.99 - It's complete, but the manual and case had a bit of dirt in them. I shook them out and they look fine now.
Pac-man World 2 with Pac-man Vs. (GC) for $11.99 - When I got home, I discovered that you need some Game Boy Advances and GBA to GC link cables to play Pac-man Versus. Auuugh! Why couldn't Namco let us use regular controllers?

I guess! What's the going rate for IQ nowadays? Not too long ago it was ~$50.
I had a GREAT day. I only got one thing, and I got it by mail, but it was my...
POWERPAK!!! BAMMM!!!!

I absolutely love it. My wife got it for my birthday (which isn't until August) but I can use it now. She just wants to wrap it up for my birthday. We also got a 4GB Sandisk Ultra II CF card for it, which loads games very quickly. It's expensive but I think it's the neatest thing :)

I've played this game and I find it extremely fun. Having the ghosts (played by your friends) know where you are when your pac-man 100% of the time is a real buzz kill for the game.

Purchased today:
PlayStation:
Loaded (complete, GH) - $3.50
Mystery Science Theater 3000: The Movie (VHS) - $1
Loaded is the sixth PlayStation game I've picked up this month. Before today, I hadn't bought any movies on VHS in years (although I purchased at least one N64-era Nintendo Power promo tape last year), but I couldn't pass up MST3K for a buck.

Hmm, it sounds pretty neat. Too bad I got rid of my GBA years ago.

The DS Namco collection has this included. Instead of controlling it using GBA-GC, everyone uses a DS.

I just picked up another complete copy of Indiana Jones Fate of Atlantis on 3.5" disks. When I say complete, I mean complete! It comes with everything, adventurer newspaper, manual, and all paperwork.

salvation army is still dry as hell, i need to find out when they do re-stocks, i think they're doing a big one soon because the electronics section where the games are "usually" kept once in a blue moon when they actually put any out is emptied.

Getting restless sitting at home, I decided to venture to Goodwill Computer Works. All Carts below were .99 each. I don't know why the fuck I picked up Pacman though, as I think I meant to pick up something else. There were a bunch more of these and INTV carts at .99, but I limited myself. Anyway in case the pic is too small here's what I got:
Spider Fighter
Solar Storm (R4)
Miner 2049'er
Seaquest
Phoenix
River Raid
Galaxian
Solaris
Sword Quest: Fireworld
Megamania
Pole Position II (7800)
Crystal Castles
Pac-man
