Is that GameCube screen compatible with regular composite inputs? Me and some friends have been joking about sticking my PS2 in the back of my car to play after we hang out somewhere, but the only spare screen I have is my $2 CRT TV that has bad color. I don't trust my car battery with a CRT, so I'm kinda looking into something like that.

Ah I wouldn't know how to tell you since I'm clueless about that info. If you want I can take photos of the outputs and you can check yourself.

The 360 version is easy to find. It's the PS3 version that's sold out everywhere, I had to track that down.

Not in my area. Like I said, three Best Buys and the third was the only one with a sole copy left. That Best Buy, and one of the others, actually had 1 copy of the PS3 version on their shelves.

Never used one, but I doubt that. I'm pretty sure they just use the proprietary port that Nintendo had SNES - Gamecube. Just hunt down a PS2 screen if you want one.

ya there are 2 real close to each other tonight, there are occassional friday night church sales around here, they are usually like a presale to the real sale, but of course everything good is already gone after the "pre-sale".
The one church charges $2 to get in only on friday for the presale, some churches charge $5 for the presale, thats bs when they charge $5, so church-like, they are guaranteed like $1000 even if all they have is a bunch of shit. The good news is the ones that charge an admission usually have stuff that is nice and is worthwhile.

Oh and wait, hollywood video gets in shipments for this sale they have, where from? I just checked one today and it was cleaned out except for sports and a couple crappy 360 games. I was a little late to the sale, lol.

I did end up going to the 2 church sales tonight, they were pretty slim pickins, i was nervous getting to the first sale because traffic made me get there about 10 minutes after it opened, but lol i saw my dads van in the parking lot, he went there straight from work, when i went in he already had anything i would want set aside, he was on the phone about to call me, he found an ibm laptop for $5, it has windows 98 on it, but the best find was pictured below. They were asking $10 for the whole box, the games are nothing special, sonic adventure being the best one, so i probably would of passed without the arcade stick. I knew these used to go for a good amount a couple years ago becuase people mod them and things, so i hoped they were still in demand, and sure enough they still for about $60 on ebay. So im happy with it. There are a total of 2 vmus and 2 of what i guess are rumble packs, maybe someone could fill me in, and also a memory card.

I really dont need another dreamcast system, it will go in my pile of about 15 I already have...

No gaming finds this week for once, though I did buy these:

Non-gaming items:
- Donkey Kong Country: Legend of the Crystal Coconut (VHS. Used in near mint condition): $1
- Stargate SG-1: Season 1 (DVD. Used in very good shape): $6

I had been wanting to get some of the SG-1 box sets since I checked out the first disc from the library, and $6 was a steal.

Passed up:
- Star Trek: Insurrection (DVD. Disc only): $6

Believe it or not, it was at a Gamestop several towns over (Even though used DVDs haven't been sold there in years); I called them up about it, and the website is right, though it's a disc only copy. If it had the case, I would have taken a trip to go buy it, but seeing as it's disc only, it's not really worth my time getting out there, and it'd be a pain top transfer it because the closest store doesn't have any DVDs listed in their system anymore, so they couldn't sell it.

I've had crap luck over here in Tennessee this year, but my sister asked me to repair her PC while I was here. So, she bought a bunch of DVD sets for me at Big!Lots earlier today to pay for those repairs. I got:

Popeye 1933-1938 (DVD Set 1)
Tales from the Crypt Season 1 through 5
Appleseed EX Machina

The total cost was $21 plus TN taxes. They had a ton of other stuff too, lots of Flintstones Seasons 2 + 3, one copy of Jonny Quest, some Penelope Pitstop DVD sets, Superman serials... I may go back for the Lois & Clark sets to resell on eBay. Hee. ^^;

Welcome to the club. I don't have that many, but I do have some broken systems and games that I'd love to sell for chump change to people who'd know what to do with them. I've got stuff I could never fix, but can't bring myself to throw away.

How many "broken" systems, which just had dirty connectors in reality, do you think have been thrown away by people over the years?

I just have a crapload of N64, NES, genny that are sitting here and a pain to ship, and sit on ebay forever before selling for a price i can make a profit on. I sold the broken PS2s to my contact who buys network adapters from me for $125 shipped for all 5. not a bad deal, she only wants the motherboards so i can gut them all and sell the parts seperately.

A little cross-post from Import Gaming:

Last Monday was a holiday and I decided to drive up north a bit. I was poking through the Fukushima/Ibaraki coastal are and came across one of the "We buy and sell everything stores" - Mito Kanteidan. (In Mito city, of course)

I've had very little luck in these sorts of stores lately as some of them have started to carry less and less retro gaming and others haven't changed their prices in 10 years. Still others are rat's nests and impossible to negotiate (though I like that sort of shop). Mito Kanteidan was different. Clean and well-organized, they had all kinds of interesting gaming goodness at reasonable prices. I didn't have my camera with me so I can't share pictures, but believe me when I say they had an amazing selection. There was aisles of just about every every system imaginable, and tons of rare stuff (PC Engine LT, several 64DD games, even some Pippin soft). I found several items I had been looking for for some time, like these WonderSwan items:

http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3441/3757976236_8b879578d2_b.jpg

That's the very-hard-to-find Handy Sonar and the just-about-as-hard-to-find Chocobo Fushigi na Dungeon pack. I also snagged some NeoGeo Pocket stuff I wanted and a used copy of Shoot the Bullet:

http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3480/3757977016_c13564210a_b.jpg

I'm pretty sure the Party Mail is brand new, too - it certainly looks like the sticker has never been removed. Not so rare but still interesting, I picked up some PS2 games as well:

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2483/3757976688_a226ce14e4_b.jpg

Haven't had a chance to play either yet.

For those who might theoretically be interested in visiting this shop, don't consider it. It's really in the middle of nowhere and only accessible by car. Probably why they had such nice stuff.

Well, a sort of retrogaming score today. My sisters took us to a flea market in Louisville, Tennessee, and it was raining so a lot of the outside vendors had soaked stuff... there was one booth that had tons of PC stuff, but some weird looking lady beat me to most of the stuff there.

The owner there was really nice, though - she said everything inside was a dollar. Old monitors, dot-matrix printers, PCs from the 1980's... I managed to fish out a bunch of floppy and CD games:

A Street Fighter / Cabal / some other game I don't remember three pack
A flight simulator three pack that also had a copy of Wolfenstein 3D 1.14 Shareware inside (I didn't notice it!)
A disaster game flight simulator thing (New)
Cyborgirl (a pinball game by Epic games, brand new)
And... Adobe Creative Suite Premium for Mac. Educational, but still. I may be able to sell it on eBay for a mint if I don't get caught.

They also had TONS of 5.25" floppy disk games and software, but I don't -have- a 5.25" drive. :( I'll buy one of their old setups and see if I can nab one if we go back there next week.

That's the very-hard-to-find Handy Sonar and the just-about-as-hard-to-find Chocobo Fushigi na Dungeon pack. I also snagged some NeoGeo Pocket stuff I wanted and a used copy of Shoot the Bullet:

I'm pretty sure the Party Mail is brand new, too - it certainly looks like the sticker has never been removed. Not so rare but still interesting, I picked up some PS2 games as well:

Haven't had a chance to play either yet.

For those who might theoretically be interested in visiting this shop, don't consider it. It's really in the middle of nowhere and only accessible by car. Probably why they had such nice stuff.

Juicy as always.
Keep those awesome import pictures coming! :D

Odd find at a remote small-town Goodwill yesterday:

Sonic and Knuckles (Gen) - 50 cents
sitting right next to a loose Ecco the Dolphin (Gen) - $7.00???

Aye, chihuahua, I sometimes wonder who prices this stuff and why there is such a spread of pricing in the same store, and these were the only two games in the whole store!

I MIGHT BE THE STUPIDEST MOTHERFUCKER ON THE PLANET.

I passed on a fucking Stadium Events for like $2. I thought it was the other one.

Excuse me a moment: BFDASDFASDFSDFDSFSDFADSFSDDS

Before you ask, I think it was fucking ntsc.

This is an epic facepalm.

Edit: Now that I've calmed down, here's what I did get:

$1 Game Gear (Broken ish)/Ninja Crystal
$15 SNES Console with A/V and Controller
$3 Super Mario All Stars
$3 Donkey Kong Country 2
$3 FFVII Disc 1 (GH) - is this still worth anything?
$6 Faxanadu complete, Dragon Warrior Complete, Gradius

Edit 2: Since I really can't remember now if it was written on 2 lines or 1, I'm going to just assume pal based on statistics (also to preserve my sanity). Serves me right for forgetting which was the rare version.

Where did you see it at?

It was at a booth at a flea. I'm sure it was PAL, statistically speaking, but for $2 or whatever there was absolutely no reason for me not to grab it and be absolutely sure >_< It's sort of a lesson learned though...I'm not really all that into NES, but I need to brush up on the list.. I could get a JPN saturn and all the games I need with that cart :drools:

I have been picking up a bunch of the DVD sets from Big Lots. I got the Flintstones sets as well as most of the other Hanna Barbara sets, (Wacky Races, Josie and the Pussycats, etc). I missed out on a couple Tales From the Crypt sets, but I did pick up volume 2 of Pinky and the Brain.

JY

If you want me to pick a set up for you and send it, I can do that for the cost of postage and the item (if they have it!). It's no problem. Lemme know. :)

I ordered Far Cry 2 from eBay. Well, I won on it last second.:vamp:

Anyways, that's it for now.

Trying to save money to build a small home studio and then I can spend more on games.:(

Some Far Cry 2 DLC is on sale this week for XBL Gold members.

Found 2 complete copies of Jurassic Park Operation Genesis for the Xbox in the past 3 days. Been looking for that one locally for about a year and a half now. $20 a pop.

Picked up a few things today at Half Price books:

Dragon's Lair 3D for Xbox - $9.98
Top Gun Combat Zones for GC - $4.99
Brothers in Arms: Hells Highway Prima Guide - $1
Soul Calibur IV Bradygames LE guide with CD - $5

I didn't even know Dragons Lair was made for Xbox, so this one is great for me. My boys have been wanting an Ace Combat style game for the GC for awhile, so I hope Top Gun doesn't suck too much. The BIA guide for $1 in mint shape was just too good to pass up, and finally, the SCIV guide completes my collection of II, III, and IV LE guides with discs/extras. Was there a guide for the original SC?

Edit: I forgot that I also got Blaster Master: Blasting Again for the PS1 complete and in great shape for $1 as well!

I got some stuff over the weekend. :)

From a fellow DP member I got the following:
1. Day of the Tentacle - CD (talky) version - I HAVE WANTED THIS FOREVER! I AM VERY EXCITED!
2. E-Reader games: Urban Champion, Donkey Kong, Tennis, Balloon fight, Baseball, Excitebike, Donkey Kong Jr.

From Amazon.com, I got some HD-DVDs - all were sealed. $3.00 each except for Heroes which was $8.00
1. Heroes season 1,
2. Eternal Sunshine of the spotless mind (the wife wanted this one),
3. Dune,
4. Army of Darkness,
5. Monty Python: The Meaning of Life,
6. Waterworld,
7. U-571,
8. Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, and
9. Serenity

From Costco, I got Star Trek: TNG seasons 1, 2 and 3. I previously got TNG seasons 4,5,6 and 7, so this completes the set! :D ($29.99 each - brand new)

From EB Games, I got Onechanbara (Wii) for $14.99, but got 10% off. They also had the xbox 360 version, but it was $24.99, so I passed on it. I know I probably overpaid for the Wii version, but that's okay. I love bikini zombie games :D
