Guess what? We were able to attend NY Comic Con this year after all. While we couldn't get press badges like we did at previous NYCC's, we still managed to bring back some awesome stuff. We're going to interview Blair Herter, who hosts the G4 show X-Play, as well as Attack of the Show. There's a new He-Man game that you can play on your Android and iPad, and we will talk to the folks behind this amazing title.

Hey everyone. I'd like to introduce you to a new web series some friends of mine have been working on for the past 6 months. It's a roundtable discussion video podcast about "Movies, Television, Games and Everything Geek". Episode 2 just launched today, and the show is coming together nicely. I'll be sitting in on future episodes myself. The guys would love to hear feedback from a group like Digital Press. Let 'em know what you think!

They arent.
I like the two buddies hanging out playing games thing. I only played games with friends when I was younger, and it reminds me of another show I watch on youtube like that sorta, but they dont play through games really. Dont use offensive slurs like the r word.
If I were you guys Id choose other games that the nerd and irate gamer or others havent touched on, and trust me there are plenty out there. Dont feel like you have to play Superman 64 or ET or Shaq Fu.
Also, play some good games too. I found a guy who reviews rpg's and is starting up a cool project because I searched for reviews of azure dreams, and he was the only one who reviewed it and made a cool video, then I met him in person a year ago. So, make yourselves stand out from the rest.

I really like his videos so far, just discovered him the other day so I havent seen all 70 of his videos yet. I wish I had discovered this guy before, hes spot on about so many things about and having to do with games to me. Some of his viewers didnt like he (gasp) did a storyline (with still the typical thinking upon games interspersed with it) from episodes from ep 43 thru 50, but Im liking it so far. I wrote I wanted to do a review show about games, but I dont have to now because everything I would have touched upon in those episodes hes already said and gone further upon ("overthinker"), so now I want to share them.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lhzyOzItDnc
I didnt see anyone write about him when I did a search and that surprised me.

11-12-2012, 06:30 PM
Neat! Definitely going to check out a few of his other videos as I have time. See if I like them as a whole or not.
As to storylines.... are people really that against it? I mean, okay, James Rolfe is the 500lb Gorilla of gaming review videos, but who cares?
Honestly, these people provide free entertainment. IF they want to do a storyline, and you don't want to watch, that's not a massive failure on their part. It's a preference on yours. :)

11-12-2012, 08:06 PM
He has storylines in episodes that arch over many episodes each after ep 43. BUT they really play well into his videos. His videos on politics, sexism and racism in and around gaming are his best videos to me. Im on episode 59 and I really am enjoying this. I agree with everything he says that I know about. His videos should really be more popular than AVGN's.

His theory of the flood of non-traditional [Madden] gamer demographic into the market causing the proliferation of generic formulas in today's video games has merit. Also, the desire to commercially milk a proven formula for all its worth makes more sense from an economic standpoint over going out on a creative limb to attempt to reach a smaller audience who would not think your game is "gay."

Interesting that you choose now to find him. I've been watching at http://www.screwattack.com/ (move your mouse over "shows" and click "TheGameOverThinker"). In the latest one he mentioned that he was doing the stuff with the storyline at his blogspot http://gameoverthinker.blogspot.com/
His new screw attack thing goes back to just the commentary, which you can see the 1st video as the second post of his blog(so far), or here: http://www.screwattack.com/shows/partners/game-overthinker/game-overthinker-overbytes-super-mario-bros-2
When I first came across his videos, it was the one about who will be remembered as iconic in gaming. Saw a few Harold Lloyd films after that one.

I really want to you know what you guys think! You can also recommend games for us to review next!
Me and a buddy of mines recently started a "let's play" like show, called "Joe & Jon Plays". The difference is that our videos are completely edited, unlike "let's plays" which are full unedited videos.
Anyways, we are just playing Super Nintendo games for now but eventually, we would like to play games from all kinds of systems...however, we just play 2 player games!
We did 3 "Joe & Jon Plays" episodes so far, please check them out below and let me know what you think!

Its actually very nicely done. my only complaint is the cussing. Remember your doing RETRO reviews and a lot of people are older and dont like all the cussing. It detracts from the overall show. besides that, i like it. I actually have B&B coming in the mail today.

This is the YouTube channel for the site I run of the same name. We post raw game footage of games, commentary-free, on a regular basis. We also have a collection of video game commercials from Australian TV, some of which are really damn corny. I'm also in the process of putting up a bunch of other video gaming related material like cartoon intros.

Thank you, thank you, 100x thank you. I am quite tired of trying to find footage of a game to decide if I want to acquire it only to have some congested-sounding ninny talking over the game so I can't properly discern the sound effects and music. To me, music is a very important part of any gaming experience and having an overweight guy popping his vocals on an omnidirectional microphone just ruins any chance of getting a good impression.

My Youtube page mixes up various recordings of gameplay logs with some rips of NicoNicoDouga videos I find of interest. Most of the content I self-produce is iether related to Satellaview or Sega Pico.
Some highlighted videos:
from the Satellaview community: FireBrandX restores one of the most obscure Zelda songs ever: the original "Wait and Listen" song from BS Zelda. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nJ0IwiN0tyo)
from NicoNicoDouga: Hudson Soft produced a Live-Action Momotaro Densetsu movie to promote the Super Famicom entry of the franchise. Just how much money did they have to blow on this? (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xpxJqAScie4)
one of my few camera vids: My Satellaview setup, also shows some Yoshi no Panepon and Special Tee Shot. Sorta. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YWxRGBWpIOQ)
Satellaview stuff: Video of "Kirby no Omochabako - Hoshi Kuzushi" I recorded a while back. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eSkeuRmpGNE)
Sega Pico stuff: A log of Kega Fusion recording. Man, I wish emulation was better on this. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_eX2o1QEkj8)

Playing the game one handed ( my weaker hand ) and still shooting things down and able to bomb with only one hand is still cool. I hope you will have pity on me and not completely hate this first ever game upload.

I mostly demonstrate general gameplay of PC Games, Going from the Old PC Booter to Todays Common, well known and obscure one! Its Mostly to preceive history of those games. There is also a huge number of Mortal Kombat 1 Video and Glitches Video

I got bored today and even though I like to post pictures of games from time to time on my Facebook and sometimes a game or 2 here, I figured why not today do a video ( a window into my collection). Also At the end I played the In Store Demo for the Atari 400 ( CXL4019 ). I layed out the Left Cartridge and XE games flat since you would never be able to see what they were from the tops. Sorry for the low sound on the video and the small screen size. Im still learning how to maximize the screen size with the Iphone. I hope you guys enjoy the video.

My favorites of all time include:
Blue Max
River Raid
Pole Position
QIX
and
Davids Midnight magic pinball
Ive been picking away at it as I can come across lots and deals. I found one lot tonight that has over 150 games (Carts) + a ton of disks. I will be reselling about 120 or 125 carts. Feel free to PM me if you like.

In the final stages of closing a deal that will allow me to add about 30 new carts to the collection and leave me with about 100 or more carts for possible resell. Not every day you find game lots like that but i hope that this pans out and will be able to share more games ( at more reasonable prices compared what they sell for on ebay ) with other A8 gamers. I look forward to sharing pictures as they start coming in , in the next few weeks. :)
