Nice! Does it include the manual too? I keep seeing NBA Basketball 2K3 and having my heart skip a beat, only to remember that it's NCAA College Basketball 2K3 that's rare... :(

No manual but I'm not in a position to complain.

Favorite finds this week are the Pokemon FireRed box and manual (which now completes my copy), Aladdin for the SNES, and the SG-8 controller, which looks awesome and feels just like a Sega-branded 3-button.

I bought A.S.P. ("Air Strike Patrol") hoping it might be a shooter, but it turned out to be a strange isometric-view Jungle Strike-esque game. I played it for a bit, and it uses some interesting ideas, but it didn't captivate me for very long. I was practically pulling my hair out trying to figure out how to start the game; the intro menu is confusing, to say the least.

I left my phone number with the family who sold me the two NES consoles and games. Supposedly, they have all of the accessories, as well as a few more games, somewhere, and said they'd call when they found them. I'm not keeping my fingers crossed, but if they do find them, I'm glad they'll give them to me instead of just throwing them out.

The 1 2 P

dealextreme.com has a small pack of replacement analog pads for somewhere around $2. I bought one a while back and it includes two pads that are identical to the factory version.

EDIT: Here it is. (http://www.dealextreme.com/p/8-piece-black-buttons-cap-kit-for-psp-3644)

NES and Genesis RF units will work just fine. Genesis Model 1 A/V cable will also work, if you have one lying around.

Cool. I'm going to look into those analog nubs. In the mean time, I have a Nes top loader that isn't currently hooked up so I'll use that to test it out.

Snip

I can't believe nobody else asked you how much you paid. So how much for all of that?

The 1 2 P: That Golden Axe Warrior game is worth a lot more than $6 alone... my copy was $16 and it was a great deal at that price.

As soon as I saw that MS lot, I thought "wow, I can't read most of the titles, but I can see Moonwalker and Golden Axe Warrior and I know either of those alone is more than worth $6".

I tried taking pics of the whole group to show the titles but some of them kept getting obscured by the glare so I'm just going to list them all:

Action Fighter
Alex Kid In Miracle World
Altered Beast
Astro Warrior
Choplifter
Double Dragon
Enduro Racer
F-16 Fighting Falcon(Sega Card)
Fantasy Zone: The Maze x 2
Ghouls' N Ghost
Ghostbusters x 2
Global Defense
Golden Axe Warrior
Great Baseball
Hang On/Safari Hunt
Marksman Shooting/Trap Shooting
Michael Jackson's Moonwalker
Monopoly
Rambo First Blood Part II x 2
Shinobi
Shooting Gallery
Space Harrier
Spy Vs Spy(Sega Card)
Transbot(Sega Card)
Wonder Boy
Wonder Boy III
World Grand Prix(cart only)
Zaxxon 3-D

Thats all of them. I'm not sure if any are rare. Hell, I'm not really sure what the Sega Card games are, although I'm going to assume they are some kind of Master System expansion.

EDIT: After looking at the system I noticed it does have a card reader slot.

It wasnt a steal. I paid quite a lot... 600$ for everything. But its easily resellable for at least double up here.

Anybody have any info on the atari 2400? was it just a vader 2600 in the box? How rare is it? what is it worth?

That is alot of money. You'll make it all back of course but it's going to take a while if you really piece it out the way you should for maximum value. But as long as you have a little patience it will be no sweat.

I may be wrong about this, but I think it's a boxset with the first four Dot Hack games in it.

Anyway, nice finds ScourDX! How much did you pay for those Tales games, and where did you buy them?

From yesterday:
Emperor: Battle For Dune (PC, 4 CDs with case) - $3

http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j238/foxhack/DP/dp-2011-08-16.jpg
From today:
Raiden Trad (Genesis, with box and manual, cart is mint) - $2
Symphonic Star Trek, Priceless Jazz Sampler: Louis Armstrong, Blue Note Blend 2, Great Ladies of Jazz - $2 for all four

That Raiden Trad was a hell of a surprise, I figured $2 for that wasn't so bad. I'm probably keeping this one.

It is Japanese dot hack limited edition. I got the Tales Wii for $13 each. The local game store wants to clear their Japanese titles.

Man, that's a steal! I wish I had a place that sold import games in my area. The only shop that I know of is Book-Off in Vancouver, BC. But that's a couple of hours away from where I live.

Also, the last time I was in Book-Off, the game selection wasn't that great. Although, that might have been because they had a sale going on at the time. Hopefully the selection will be better when I go there next week.

Today's finds:

http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j238/foxhack/DP/dp-2011-08-17a.jpg
The Bizarre Adventures of Woodruff and the Schnibble - $1
Starcraft - $2
Heroes of Might and Magic III Complete - $2
Karnov, Tag Team Wrestling, Heavy Barrel, Bad Dudes (DOS PC CD) - $2 for all

I couldn't pass up those four Data East games. I'm pretty sure they'll be crap. :D I think they came from one of those super cheapy TenPak sets that Slash Corporation and GT Interactive released in the 90's - there were several other games but none were from the same set (I found a manual that mentioned games that weren't in the same box.)

http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j238/foxhack/DP/dp-2011-08-17b.jpg
The Sopranos OST V1
Stanley Clarke - If This Bass Could Only Talk
Louis Armstrong - Singin' N' Playin' (New)
Conker's Bad Fur Day

$5 total.

Conker is going to eBay ASAP. :D

Got this one off eBay but I still consider it a find since the auction ended at $1.25. Less than $20 after shipping for a Densha de Go! controller in the US is always welcomed...

http://www.classicplastic.net/digitalpress/finds/DP-Finds-2011-08-17%2801%29.jpg

It cleaned up really nice and works 100%. This is actually 25 cents more than I paid for my other PS1 Densha de Go! controller, that one the standard throttle / brake model, that I got from a long time acquaintance at a flea market. Just the usual looseness that most of the train controllers have these days. I may also adjust the throttle tension up one notch. Nice to have a "lever" style controller in addition to my other Densha de Go! hardware.

Since the toys forum is gone, I'll shove these here. Lego Minifigures Series 5 came in today. It's really the only collectible that I collect these days and although the packages are grab bag style, I've become an expert at figuring out which ones are which by feel. I really like this series and as with the previous, I went for the whole set. 16 / 16 for identifying through the bags...

Lastly in case anyone (like me) completely missed the memo, Galaxy Express 999 and Adieu Galaxy Express 999 have been released on DVD - officially...

I guess it happened a couple months ago. This is something I NEVER thought we would see. They include the Japanese audio subtitled as well as the old Viz dub from the VHS releases. Would be nice to see Eastern Star pick up DVD distribution rights for the original series (subtitled and currently digitally distributed by Toei / Crunchyroll after Live-evil did 1/3 of it), Maetel Legend (out of print, originally released by Central Park Media), Space Symphony Maetel (fansubbed and released by Live-evil), and Eternal Fantasy and get the whole smash released uniformly.

Ok, I really need to watch that. I just heard about that anime a few days ago for the first time, and yesterday the thrift near me got several different anime VHS tapes including the first film. I didn't buy it because I'm trying to avoid VHS tapes for stuff that's already on DVD, but I went back today to get it and it was basically the only anime tape that sold. Now I see you're posting them here. From never hearing of this before a few days ago to seeing it everywhere is a bit odd for me.

I did buy some random anime DVD box set a few days ago, I thought it was some official Japanese set but when I got home I looked it up and it turned out to be a factory pressed bootleg. On the plus side it turned out to be a box set of Zambot 3 which never had an official release in English on any format, and it seems the legitimate sets(without any English) are long out of print making this still a cool find.

Daiso, a huge chain of Japanese 100 Yen stores that have a few US locations. $1.50 a pop and they hold 8 minifigs each perfectly, as well as easily stack one on top of another.

So my Michigan vacation continues and in my last post I talked about the lack of finds and disappointment in the Game Quest pricing, but grabbed a couple of DC games anyway. Well, my Uncle-in-Law up here in Troy,MI was selling a car to a guy so I took a couple of hours to follow him to the guys place and then bring him home. We drove north to a small town called Lapeer, to the Secretary of State's office so they could switch the title to the new owner. So I'm standing in the parking lot looking to kill some time and lo and behold what do I see?? How about a store sign saying "Video Game Connection"! Right across the street, between and sports card shop and an old electronics repair shop. Pretty decent selection and the owner was young-ish (late 20's, early 30's) and very cool. When I made my selections he told me if I used cash he'd give me a little off my total, so cash it was! Here's what I got:

AMOK (saturn) - $5 complete
Magic Carpet (Saturn) - $6 complete
Wing Arms (Saturn) - $8 complete
Tempest 2000 (Saturn) - $10 complete
A Dinosaur's Tale (Genesis) - $5 missing manual
Mick and Mack Global Gladiators (Genesis) - $5 complete
Chiki Chiki Boys (Genesis) - $5 loose
Sol-Deace (Genesis) - $4 loose
Ranger X (Genesis) - $5 loose
Saturn notched power cable - $5
Pokemon Black and White Pokedex - brand new - $10

AFter the discount, I got it all for around $50. Nice to find some stuff and there was a lot more that I passed on because I have to fly back to Dallas this weekend and my UPS shipment box is already full of other souvenirs. :(

So, if you're in the Northern Detroit suburbs and don't mind a 40 minute drive up the M-24 to Lapeer, go check this store out and support the little guy!!

NES Systems With 21 Games & Some Controllers & Hookups - 30

Walked to my first sale Friday that was right around the corner from my place surprised to see this stuff out for sale in a box. Unfortunately I was told it was 50 to which I pointed out the missing AC adaptors and countered with 20. When the guy offered to do 30 I tried to meet him in the middle from that (25) but 30 was the best I could get him to do and not even being 8 yet probably wasen't helping me. He actually added in the 3rd system for parts that was missing all of the screws and of which I didn't notice had Dr Mario in it till I got home.

XG3: Extreme G Racing (PS2, Complete) - 1
Simpsons Hit & Run With Case & Manual For Sonic Mega Collection (GC) With Nintendo Power - 1.10
PS2 With Controller & Hookups (Parts), N64 With AC Adaptor, FC Twin With Hookups & 14 Cart Only Games - 5

Last gen games from different sales asking a buck each, NP for .10. Asked about video games at a sale and 2 boxes were brought out. One with the Nintendo stuff which I offered 5 for and then I ended up taking the broken PS2 for 3 more.

PS1 With Some Misc & 15 Complete Games - 15

Asked about just selling games and when 3 per a game was suggested I ended up (be it a bad decision) trying 15 for everything from 20 instead of trying to offer less then 3 per a game if I picked out a few.

Game Boy Systems With 4 Games & Some Misc - 10

This is all from the same sale as the PS1 stuff. Pretty much asking price with only .50 taken off when I was offered the last soft case left behind to be added in. The GBA said it needed cleaned and was only marked 2 and the cleaning consisted of a battery in the system that was leaking but wasen't too bad.

Xbox 360 System With 2 Controllers & Hookups - 10
3 Games - 1.50

The 3 games were asking price at 1, .25 & .25. I saw the 360 fairly late in the morning. I asked if it had anything wrong with it and was told it works. It was marked 30 OBO and my offer of 10 was taken.

Just won Naruto Gekitou Ninja Taisen 3 for $2.99 total (http://www.ebay.com/itm/300589426927). I'm iffy on this type of game, their quality varies so much. Yet no one else bid.[/IMG]

GNT is awesome. The 4th game is the one people want, which is probably why no one else placed a bid. Cool little fact: the Wii game released in America and elsewhere a couple of years ago is an enhanced port of GNT3, minus around nine characters.

Since the series gets more added to it with each installment, the older entries end-up as mere collectibles for fans. It's kind of cool to see how the series changed though. In any case, I highly recommend 4. Multiplayer mode with four characters on-screen at once is a hoot! Check Youtube for a quick taste of the action.

Atari 7800 With 2 Controllers, Hookups, Some Misc & 65 Games - 70

The SNES games were from the regular at a buck each. Atari stuff was 100 but the seller then offered to do 85, I walked and coming back I ended up getting it for 70. Armor Ambush, Astroblast, Space Attack & Tron Deadly Discs are the 4 Mattel games.

Couple decent Craigslist pickups for me this weekend, which is unusual these days. And despite many garage sales, and asking about games at every sale like FOnewearl seems to have good luck with, but nadda. Passed on a nice DS Lite w/ 2 junk games for $50 that I maybe should have gotten, but they are getting harder to sell and I don't need more so I left it as a decent deal for someone that needs it.

Anyway, yesterday I picked up this Nintendo lot:
http://i707.photobucket.com/albums/ww75/evanwink42/Finds/finds256a.jpg
Paid asking price of $50. SNES games are in very nice shape, too bad the box is just the box (no styro) and is pretty beat up. Are those SNES pads the ones everyone was gushing over? I've seen those come and go, but never really used one much. Hookups were included but not in the pic.

And today I grabbed this:
http://i707.photobucket.com/albums/ww75/evanwink42/Finds/finds256b.jpg
Paid asking price of $100. He actually had 100 obo in the ad, but I never said anything about price when I asked what games he had or working out a time to meet. Around here if you dick around with price there are 5 other people they'll sell it to instead. And actually both of these guys mentioned how they couldn't believe how many replies they got right away. I was incredibly lucky to get my emails in first (since I don't use a scanner or anything and don't have a smartphone, besides), or at least fast enough. It may have been in both of these cases that my clear emails, willingness to pick up, suggesting a time but also offering to be flexible, and not dickering over price got me the deals, not necessarily being first to contact. That was the impression I got, anyway.

I also missed a GC lot w/ 4 wavebirds, Mario Pary 4 & 5, MK DD, and some sports game for $25. emailed within a half hour or so of the ad going up, but not fast enough. :(

:(

I'm having a rough time with competition on craigslist in my area too. There was an awesome ad posted on Friday around my area and I had replied to it within an hour of going up. It was a Genesis lot with 19 games, 16 being boxed/complete for $45. I replied willing to pay asking price because three of the CIB games were Warsong, TMNT: Hyperstone Heist, and Sol-Deace o_O. I guess I was too late though because I got a reply the next day saying that lot had been sold off. It's not like the other games were junk either, other noteworthy CIB titles included Sword of Vermillion, Alien Storm, Mercs, Golden Axe II, Shining in the Darkness, and Rampart, not to mention a blue Justifier light gun. I'm depressed now ;(

He's got a Dreamcast lot for $90 that's up for offer but I'm on the fence because he didn't post pics for it or make a game list like he did for the Genesis lot.

That Bleach set is a bootleg? You sure? I've seen quite a few bootlegs, and they always have something terribly obvious about them... Am I missing something? What clued you in that it's a bootleg?

Edit: After a quick look around online, you are indeed correct. Thanks for the heads-up; this was headed for Ebay. For anyone who cares, this is the best bootleg I've ever seen. Raised characters on the discs, convincing artwork, etc.

Spider-Man: Forgotten Warriors vhs $1

Mario Tennis(N64) $2
Jet Force Gemini(N64) x 2 $2
Diddy Kong Racing(N64) $2
Kirby's Avalanche(Snes) $2

I hit up my local Goodwill and found this stuff on different days. The games aren't anything special but they were cheap. The Spider-Man vhs is from the 90's series that still hasn't come out on dvd yet so this was a cheap alternative to atleast watch some of the episodes. The Halo figure will get added to my vast collection of action figures and then we have the lightsaber. I pretty much just got it for the handle. That way I won't feel retarded when I'm swinging my arms around pretending to be holding a lightsaber while playing Star Wars: Kinect this fall.

http://i494.photobucket.com/albums/rr306/THE-1-2-P/GEDC0755.jpg

The Crow action figure $3
Deus Ex(Pc) $1
Shadow Hearts(PS2) $4
Call of Duty: Black Ops(360) $10
Gameshark Greatest Hits(PS2) $4

I found all of these at the first yard sale I went to this weekend. I already have that Crow figure but at that price an extra one can't hurt. Deus Ex was cheap so I snagged it hoping I get some interest for it. I know that the Shadow Hearts games use to be in demand although I don't think they ever went for very high prices. So I kind of just picked it up on a whim. And I have already been getting my moneys worth out of Black Ops playing Zombies and CTF. I pretty much lucked out being the first person there to pick that up. Finally, I know that the PS2 Gamesharks can go for some pretty decent money but I'm not sure about this one, as it's made specifically for 10 PS2 games. I need to do more research on this one.

Nes with 3 controllers, a zapper and 28 games $15

After leaving the yard sale I found all that other stuff at I started heading home. But on the way I saw a sign for another yard sale not too far from where I left. I did a drive by and it didn't look very promising. But since I was about an hour from home I decided to stop by anyway. There were several tables and on one of them was a boutique bag with an Nes and several games. I asked how much the games were after seeing Mega Man 2 in there and I was told that the whole bag was $15. They also had a bag with a PS2 and a bunhch of games but they wanted $80 for it. So I passed on that and just grabbed the Nes bag. Again, nothing super special in there but definitely worth alot more than the $15 I paid for it.

Score one for Kitsune Sniper. Legitimate Asian DVDs usually separate the Chinese languages into their major dialects: Mandarin and Cantonese.

The other dead giveaway would be the lack of any information on the actual rights holders, be it the author and publisher (in the case of Bleach, Tite Kubo and Shueisha), anime licensor/licensee (again, for Bleach, Aniplex in Japan, Viz in the US).

"Fantasy Production" is a notorious anime bootlegger label. Being region-free alone is also another bigtime giveaway, as well as incomplete barcodes. One of my fake discs simply has a set of black lines in place of a code. Very shoddy indeed!

Probably not. Based on my own experiences, stores that I've found bootlegs in wouldn't give a damn even if you gave one for them. Anecdote: I had gotten a bootleg Castlevania Harmony of Dissonance in a trade, and the guy who traded it to me didn't want it back, so I took it to a local store that I had previously seen bootlegs in and asked them to please let their manager know to check carefully for any games that come in that seem "off". They brushed me off and tried to give me credit for it, promising me that it would not hit the sales floor. I didn't see it in the weeks since, so maybe, just maybe...

I've seen too damn many bootleg games and anime over the last 10 years or so, and I'm glad that the industry is offering legal alternatives, such as streaming and overall lower pricing. There are many people who can explain how to avoid bootlegs better than I can (Google Greg Ayres or Anime Fans Against Bootlegs, among others). Everything I learned about avoiding illegal crap anime releases I learned from OMGcon.
