And when i say beat i mean made it to the point where the credits rolled. I unlocked everything.. I just don't feel like wasting my time getting all the trophies and such..... Got bigger fish to fry! (Skyrim, Return to Madness, ect ect ect :P)
but i will give my review... its a great sequel to the already award winning Trials HD game. Instead of being inside like the original game mostly took place in... This game more so focused on a out door world scenery.
Its levels are vast playing with politics (they have a level where your going through a war zone in iraq for crying out loud!), other games! (they have a level modeled after the game LIMBO. and they do a tongue in cheek knock off of Portal.... and no that doesn't mean riding the bike through portals to make it to the other side... although i wish they did... that would have been cool as hell!). Even a track based on a movie which IMO is the coolest track of the sets.... The Inception track (and man does it fuck with you!)
The levels had more depth imo and more unlockables and the track editor is alot more powerful (i mean you can make FPS levels... flight 2d shoot em ups..... and all kinds of other games with this thing!... someone even made a very well done Foosball game table that fully works!)
The only complaints I have are on some levels it feels like they pulled a cheap fast one to get you to crash.... Like one level i forgot which one right now... But you go up on a jump and kinda ramp to ramp down a giant stone hand... when you roll down its thumb at the bottom theres a very tiny dip or bump you don't see that will get you just about every time which can make it frustrating... Also some levels are built in a way where unless you feel like mastering their every little move... They are built to the bike you unlock for the section of tracks. If you use any other bike but that one you'll have all kinds of problems.
but other then that....................... its a very good game very well excecuted... Check it out... 9/10

Ah, this game. I got it following Christmas one year when the Genesis was still an active system. I had remembered reading about it in Sega Visions and it looked like fun. I never really played more than a few hours of it, as the game has a few serious issues with telling you what it wants you to do. Picking it up recently, I found that those issues weren't just me being a dumb kid, which was greatly reassuring. Over all, once you get past these few issues, it's a pretty fun game. Didn't care for the OST though.

Can't get more back to basics than this. I just beat both quests in Super Mario Bros. via Super Mario All-Stars. Man, it's been a LONG time since I played through the original Super Mario Bros. in any form. We're talking at least a decade, if not closer to 15 years, and most of it is still burned into my memory. I did have to relearn how to get through the maze sections, though, which is a bit of a surprise. If you asked me back in the '90s if I would ever not know those routes like the back of my hand, I'd probably laugh.

I had rememberd this game being mildly challenging with reasonably tight controls and a decent OST. Haivng just played through it, it seems I was right about the controls, but wrong about the other two. Most of the game is easy, with a few hard difficulty spikes in some a of the later levels and boss battles. The OST...is horrible. It's got some of the most annoying sound I've ever been subjected to from a Genesis game. The source matterial didn't really have much in the way of music to draw from, but you'd think Nick could do a tad better than this.

5/14/12 (I think this is the first game I've beaten this year!):
Grand Theft Auto IV (PS3)
I had made it my personal mission to progress as far as I could in the game and possibly beat it (which I finally did last night.) I had proven that "cheaters never win" not long ago by screwing up my game save by trying to get a 100% one off the internet so I could just enjoy driving the different cars and just explore the city and have fun, instead of playing errand boy for the Russians, Jamaicans, Italians, etc. I found out that since the name on the save didn't match the PS3 refused to recognize it. This was AFTER deleting my save (where I was stuck on the mission where you had to save Roman anyway). I decided a fresh start was in order.
The funny thing was...a lot of the missions (including the one you had to save Roman) were much easier this time around. I found myself generally improving my skills on most of the missions (and realized I had totally forgotten R1 allowed you hide behind things while shooting) and was having a better time. I did screw up some missions, though. I am far from perfect in that regard. I also used the health and lower wanted level cheats to make it easier. I died enough times using those cheats. I know for a fact I would be writing this in 10 years if I didn't use a little help.
I realized as I watched the credits roll (and marveled at how LONG they were!) that the game was definitely one of the most engaging games I have played in a long time. Even the newer Mario games have not received more than 30 minutes of play in weeks. The game is very well done (albeit very dark at times on the PS3 despite it not supposed to be at certain times of day....had to adjust the contrast and saturation on more than one occasion) and I am going to continue playing to see what little side things I can complete. (I am at 72% done on the game despite beating the main story....there are a lot of little things that bring you to 100%, but like the Ghostbusters game I consider the game beat when you beat the main story. The side things are just that....side things.)

Love the first 2/3 of the game, though the beginning of the arson desk is kind of a drag. Picks back up towards the end. Also, the story before taking the arson cases is stupid and came completely out of the blue with little rhyme or reason. Overall, $2.83 well spent.

In honour of Diablo 3 having been released yesterday I guess I was motivated to pick up my original save file from 7 years ago and finally beat Diablo for PC. First run through the dungeon, level 25 warrior - I didn't think I could do it but happened to go toe-to-toe with Diablo and took him out with a row of full potions. It only makes sense to pick up where I left off on Diablo 2 next.

After reading the thread on the best Star Fox, I got the itch to replay this game. Can't remember the last time I played this game. Definitely don't remember all the finer points, like where to fire bombs, certain paths and tasks to complete, but still had a blast playing. Took the route that included the Aquas (submarine level) and the polluted water world (possibly my favorite). Saw Andross's "true" form, but laughed that Star Wolf was in their second form, even though I had not seen them prior to Venom. And of course, I had to break out the Rumble Pak and find some AAA batteries to play this game!

1) Uncharted 2 Amongst Thieves PS3 - After shelving Uncharted Drake's Fortune for a year (no reason just other games to play) I did not make that mistake when I got Uncharted 2 for Christmas. Every bit as amazing as the first, now I need a price drop on Uncharted 3
2) Rage Xbox 360 - Probably the most anti climactic ending to a game I have seen in a long time. Missions towards the end also felt tedious and the game became more of a chore in my opinion.
3) Homefront PS3 - Not nearly as satisfying as Frontlines Fuel of War. I would have definitely preferred a lot more depth to the story and more meat to the missons.
4) WWE Day of Reckoning Gamecube - Raw Story Mode - Blew through this over the course of a few days & then became stuck on the Royal Rumble for 2 days. 1 controller later I finally beat the Rumble & moved onto become champ at Wrestlemania

Figuring that it would be highly redundant (and boring) to sit down with any one of these games by myself, playthough however many times would be needed for completion and then writing up individual blurbs about each individual one when they are all likely the same game with a different coat of paint.....I decided to invite over a group of sports minded friends and see what could be done about the lot. I can't really say any one was better than the other or really that different. Other than the difference between hockey, basketball and football, that is. The interface for all the games is was really made them indistinguishable from the rest. Not being sports centric made it additionally difficult to understand the games as a whole, but what can you say?

Enjoyed the after credits section of Metroid: Other M. Nothing too great that dramatically adds to the story, or makes me feel like it is a quality story, but the second boss was an enjoyable fight. Not too difficult though, as it only took me one try. Still can't believe they did not include the nunchuck as part of the control scheme, but oh well.

Final Fantasy (NES, 2/20/12)
Metroid (NES, 5/26/12)
Another game I never beat in my youth that I can now cross off my list. Glad to finally finish it and to see Samus without her helmet. Been a few months since I've played a game with an ending, we play a lot of NBA JAM and Williams Pinball Hall of Fame around here, but it feels good. Might break out some more NES classics in the next few days to see what I can add to this year's total.

15. The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons (GBC): 6/3 - all but one heart
I bought both Oracle games on clearance over a decade ago, partially playing through both. Then sometime last year I decided to give it another go. Started a brand new game, got up to the final boss but had somehow missed the entire trading sequence, so had no access to heart potion. Yesterday, decided to go back and beat the end boss finally doing so today. Only needed a guide for about 5% of the game, so pleased with that. This is the most hearts I have ever completed a Zelda game with and that was all on my own. Will be playing a linked game of Oracle of Ages sometime this summer, just wish I hadn't sold my GameCube so I could play it on my television.

6/3/12:
Kickle Cubicle (NES)
Kickle Cubicle is a game that I loved since I first encountered when it came out in 1990. I never owned it and had to settle for renting it as often as possible. I finally was able to snag a copy a few months ago and worked my way through the worlds. I had not touched it in a few weeks, but I was determined to get through the final few stages of the last world and beat the game. I fought hard on some stages (the ones with the hammers especially) and thought I was going to lose my mind on the final boss. I lost again....and again....and again....and AGAIN....until I finally beat him! It was satisfying watching the end credits and story and I was glad that after over two decades since I first played it I mastered it!0

6/10/12:
The Legend of Zelda (NES)
I started playing the game on 6/4/12. I would play for 2-3 hours at a time each time I sat down. On 6/5/12, I was nearly finished the first quest. I beat the first quest 6/6/12 and trudged forward a little bit. I picked it up again yesterday with me basically being half done the second quest. I was determined to beat it today but level 8 was a major pain so I put it down until just about an hour ago. I would have beat the game sooner but the maps are so tiny in the NES Game Atlas, making it hard to tell the little directional arrows telling you you could go only one way. I had a eureka moment (finally!) and was able to make it to Ganon. I defeated him with a little effort and rescued Princess Zelda. The ending is short, but still satisfying! Zelda II will be my next game I think...

Zelda II: The Adventure of Link (NES, 1/5/12)
I was working on this earlier this year, but I gave up! Anyway, my short list:
1. Legend of Zelda (NES) - It was the 2nd game I ever got, way back in 1987, but I only just got around to beating it. Yes, my backlog stretches for decades LOL I started the game from the beginning again, and found it quite compelling, after not touching it for the last 10 years or so.
2. Marvel Super Heroes vs. Street Fighter (PS1)
3. X-Com UFO Defense (PS1) - Ok, so I beat it on beginner difficulty, but the game is amazingly tough anyway. I'm playing through it on a harder diff. now that I understand the mechanics better.
4. Street Fighter IV - Seth.. MF'ing Seth. Just when you think a fighting game end boss can't get any cheaper...

Finally beat this damn game after starting it when ever the hell it came out (i can't remember).
Very interesting game infact actually i kinda didn't get what the hell was going on till i looked a few youtube videos and read the comments and someone suggested what was going on and it all made sense... But very cool. Very artsy and different which is also a plus in itself. The only downside to me.. but maybe a plus for some is this game doesn't really use traditional puzzle solving techniques that you see in other games. I think of this as more like a jury rigging kinda solving thing where you gotta macguyver it and think outside the box to advance.

Almost forgot to add american mcgee's alice which i beat before i started alice madness returns up... whoops oh well. Can't remember when i beat it so sue me.
Anyways....
Alice Madness Returns.
I love love love stories with psychotic sickness to them. Specially when they do it in such a way where you don't even know it till it hits you. Like you'll be like "oh my god what the fuck...."
American Mcgee's Alice series delievers all around in that field. This is what Tim Burtons piece of shit movie should have been.
You play as alice years later after the first game ends and you find out you still are not all right in the head. Then you find yourself entering wonderland once again which is still in shambles and with a new evil. How will you stop it? You'll just have to find out who and why. and trust me when you find out what happens at the end you'll be intrigued on deep they go with that psychotic sickness.
The visuals are breath taking. Maybe not the greatest graphics in the world but who cares. The thought the detail and visuals which are all different from anything else you seen are just amazing.
The music is as always amazing as it was made by the same guy who did the score for the original game.
The story is amazing
The only problems i have with this game are some invisible wall issues i kinda don't like.. You'll see em once in a while. But whatever. Sometimes the game also glitches with the platforms where you'll be walking along and you'll hit a stop but don't see why... so you hop over to continue. still not that big of a deal. The targeting system seems a lil half assed to me.. Like when you hit the button to make you lock on a bad guy it chooses the closest one. But sometimes you want the one in the back as thats the trouble maker of the bunch. or you'll be in a field of endless small bad guys who chase you down and you got that one big one in the back you should be focused on. Kinda a pain in the ass
Also your projectile weapons when you go to get em out and you have yourself aimed at the badguy ... the aim changes randomly to where ever when you get the projectile out. Kinda annoying but whatever.
Its just a bunch lil tiny glitches and problems that snuck by the testers which still is fine with me.
Its a really sick twisted game with sick and twisted visuals and sick and twisted story...... If you like that kinda thing (and god i wish there were more games like this... cause i love it!). Then definately check it out.

I mean it was a decent game dont get me wrong. But had so many stupid things that shouldnt have been there from the start imo.
First off it tried to be like fall out with the rpg element in a first person action title.
Then it basically ripped left 4 dead off as much as it possiably can with its specialty zombies.
The story cinematics were half assed in the perspective that they assume your playing with 3 other characters when for instance your by your self. The multiplayer system while cool if you mind romping through the game first time through with strangers over the internet. Rather stupid when your exploring and one randomly pops up and you feel the need to solo the game.
Also the dying and reviving system thing is retarded. You die and it respawns you right next to where you left off even with the bad guys half dead like you left em... Makes ya feel like whats the point....
Other then that not a bad game good 30-40 hours of your life can be wasted on it.

My sister and I used to rent this game when we were kids and despite our best efforts, we could never last the full 20 minutes. In the past couple of years, I've tried a few times to beat it. I've gotten close a few times, but it's a tiring game to play over and over. Popped it in the NES tonight and beat it on the second try. Only took 20 years, but I'm glad this one is finally done.
Still working on Punch-Out!!, SMB 2j, and a few others.

10. Batman: Arkham City (360): 4/22 - about 35% complete
11. Splatterhouse (360): 4/23 - "Savage" difficulty

First time I've actually played this game. Feel like the difficulty curve is a little off in places, mainly the Metal Sonic level compared to the rest of the game. Good game, but not as "classic" as the first or second.

Another great LEGO game, although this one was way shorter. I also noticed a few quarks that aren't in the other LEGO games, such as not being able to skip the initial TT logo at start up and a few spelling and gramatical errors and one instance of a boss title not showing up (I imagine that and the spelling errors will be fixed in a patch eventually). LEGO Gotham City is realy something, but I would have rather had a longer story arc.

Was really enjoying Ages up until around the 6th or 7th dungeon. Had read this was the harder of the two. Wouldn't say it was harder, just more tedious. Back and forth, back and forth, past and present, past and present. Just too much, even for a Zelda title. Still need to beat the final boss for the series, but the main enemy for Ages has been defeated.

Kirby's Epic Yarn (Wii)
I was nearly finished the game (still had some unlockables, but was most concerned with beating the main game) and was on Space Land. I only had a couple stages left and the boss. I thought for sure that was the end, but then it was revealed...I still had to rescue Dream Land! Dream Land was fun to play with music reminiscent of the older games and a yarn interpretation of the Whispy Woods! I made it to Yin Yarn and beat the game! Surprisingly, Yin Yarn wasn't as hard to beat as some of the earlier bosses. The end of the story was presented, the credits rolled, and I was satisfied to finally beat the game. My girlfriend got me the game for my anniversary in March 2011, making it a year and three months since I got it and a year and eight months since it was released to beat it.
My list so far (from 1st game beat to most recent) looks like this:
1) Grand Theft Auto IV (PS3)
2) Kickle Cubicle (NES)
3) The Legend of Zelda (NES)
4) Kirby's Epic Yarn (Wii)
Hmm....not much of a list, huh? Some of the games I was certain were beaten this year were actually beaten in 2011. In all fairness, I have been playing a lot of games I already have beaten or games with no true ending.

Finished the Zelda Oracle series the same night I beat Ages. Wasn't sure that counts as an additional game, but I'll put it as a 1/2. Little torn: part of me wishes they had made a third game in the series, though another part of me is glad it is was limited to two.

17 & 1/2: 6/26 - beat the final bosses for both Oracle games
18. Walking Dead: Episode 2 (XBLA): 6/28 - another fantastic 2 hours
This game series has the potential for being one of the best games of all time. Hopefully future episodes continue with the great story telling.

I've been trying to add Dark Cloud to the list of completed games for a hot second now, but I just can't stop grinding these fucking weapons up long enough to focus on the game. It's really quite addicting. I've clocked 60+ hours and I'm only on the 4th dungeon of the game. I can't believe that I've had this game this long and never even tried it until now. I didn't even know what it was about, or what type of game it was. I used the random list generator on a website that someone here mentioned to decide which game to play next, and out of the 300 PlayStation2 games I entered, Dark Cloud and Dark Cloud 2 were #1 and #3 on the list. That's pretty amazing that they both made the top 3%. I was going to select something from the first 10 games, but when I saw the results I HAD to go with Dark Cloud.
