This is such a fun damn game. I actually got my copy as a 6th grade graduation present. People keep telling me that this same version of SimCity is better with PC controls and that all versions of SimCity are better on a PC and blah blah blah. Yet I keep finding piles of people who are in the 'SNES version is the most awesomest version ever!' club. I've played all kinds of SimCity of the years and I honestly loved them all, so I figure the SNES love comes from it being the first version an entire section of gamers ever experienced.

Just took down L.A. Noire!! If you haven't played this game I HIGHLY recommend it. Really an incredible game. Plays smooth, great story, great graphics... really unlike anything I've played. And its pretty damn cheap

I'm really liking the direction this series is taking. It's been a long time since a game has given me any kind of physical reaction, but it a particular part when a character was about to be killed, the game foreshadowed it seconds before it happened. I caught myself saying "Oh, shit, no". Well writen story is well writen. I notice that the lag issues I'm mentioned for the previous two episodes wheren't as pronounced in this one.

Well, despite the fact that I absolutely hate rougelikes, it's come to my attention that more and more rougelikes are being made around the idea of "we need to sell this idea in such a way that people who hate this type of game will still play it". Seems the solution was to take out a majority of the annoying parts and replace them with hilarious crap. I enjoyed jumping in on the hardest difficulty as a vampire blood mage sword master. Might look into getting the expansion packs.

1) Uncharted 2 Amongst Thieves PS3 - After shelving Uncharted Drake's Fortune for a year (no reason just other games to play) I did not make that mistake when I got Uncharted 2 for Christmas. Every bit as amazing as the first, now I need a price drop on Uncharted 3
2) Rage Xbox 360 - Probably the most anti climactic ending to a game I have seen in a long time. Missions towards the end also felt tedious and the game became more of a chore in my opinion.
3) Homefront PS3 - Not nearly as satisfying as Frontlines Fuel of War. I would have definitely preferred a lot more depth to the story and more meat to the missons.
4) WWE Day of Reckoning Gamecube - Raw Story Mode - Blew through this over the course of a few days & then became stuck on the Royal Rumble for 2 days. 1 controller later I finally beat the Rumble & moved onto become champ at Wrestlemania
5) New Super Mario Bros. DS - Awesome as if there was any doubt about a Mario game being awesome. Life has been crazy and I have a lot of games to beat if I want to reach my goal of 12 games completed.

Prince of Persia was not a good game. It pretty much sucked, especially when you get to the end and realize you did everything for nothing. It was also super repetitive and although most games are repetitive the difference is that some of them are actually fun in their repetitiveness but not this one. Yes it was interesting playing a game you technically couldn't die in but there were very few memorable moments. As for Bust A Move 2, I just got the rare variant edition so I played thru it again. What I hate about playing the Japanese and US versions of the games is that the timing is always off on one of them despite having the same music. I was really off at times and although it could have been because I was rusty I was still missing the first steps on some of the last songs.

I have now surpassed my goal of beating 24 total games(two each month) for the year. As for Dance Summit 2001, I didn't like it as much as the first two Bust A Move games. I realize why they had to change up the formula a bit(to keep things fresh) but the music selection is terrible. This had to be one of the worst PS3 exclusives I have played yet(besides MAG). Even with my sensitivity bumped up between 80-90% for both look and turn speed the game still controlled so sluggish. Unlike alot of other games it actually had a couple stand out weapons that I preferred. But the story was pretty weak(not very surprising for fps games) and the worst part of it all was the ending....except that there was no ending. Hmmm....I wonder where they got that idea from? Oh yeah, they got it from Halo 2. After all, this whole series was several times dubbed a "Halo Killer". Obviously some very retarded people called it that because this game isn't even in Halo's league. The game may have been "pretty" by dark war torn environment standards but it was ultimately a very underwhelming game, even the not very well thought out last boss fight where you'd literally be fighting him forever if you don't use the correct weapon combination. Oh well, now onto No More Heroes: Heroes Paradise.

6) Spec Ops the Line - PS3 - Great game loved that the story had a little depth and how choices were a factor. Definitely more than you get out of the mass produced FPS franchises. A bit short in length, but definitely more fulfilling than Homefront which was completed earlier this year.

Yes... I beat syberia.. I had it for the longest time on Xbox but could never get past a certain spot.. Well just beat it on the PC!
An amazing game about a woman named Kate Walker who is sent by a law firm to tie up a take over sign contract on a factory that makes automatons and is being led to find a missing person after the factory owner died and left ownership in her long lost brothers name.
Will kate find?

This game is absolutely beautiful with its scenery and has a wonderful story and its opens you up to a whimsical mechanical trade that is long gone to electronics.. That being Automatons which are essentially robots controlled by the makings of clock work.

Now to beat the second game to complete this story!

Just took down L.A. Noire!! If you haven't played this game I HIGHLY recommend it. Really an incredible game. Plays smooth, great story, great graphics... really unlike anything I've played. And its pretty damn cheap

I agree wholeheartedly! I just beat the game this afternoon. I paid $20 at Walmart for the edition with the extra traffic case. I certainly say it was worth the money and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I still have a bunch of cars to unlock and a few of the street crimes to finish but the main story is complete. I'm actually sad to see it finished!

1) Uncharted 2 Amongst Thieves PS3 - After shelving Uncharted Drake's Fortune for a year (no reason just other games to play) I did not make that mistake when I got Uncharted 2 for Christmas. Every bit as amazing as the first, now I need a price drop on Uncharted 3
2) Rage Xbox 360 - Probably the most anti climactic ending to a game I have seen in a long time. Missions towards the end also felt tedious and the game became more of a chore in my opinion.
3) Homefront PS3 - Not nearly as satisfying as Frontlines Fuel of War. I would have definitely preferred a lot more depth to the story and more meat to the missons.
4) WWE Day of Reckoning Gamecube - Raw Story Mode - Blew through this over the course of a few days & then became stuck on the Royal Rumble for 2 days. 1 controller later I finally beat the Rumble & moved onto become champ at Wrestlemania
5) New Super Mario Bros. DS - Awesome as if there was any doubt about a Mario game being awesome. Life has been crazy and I have a lot of games to beat if I want to reach my goal of 12 games completed.
6) Spec Ops the Line - PS3 - Great game loved that the story had a little depth and how choices were a factor. Definitely more than you get out of the mass produced FPS franchises. A bit short in length, but definitely more fulfilling than Homefront which was completed earlier this year.
7) Army of Two 40th Day - PS3 - Not much in the way of story, to be expected I guess, but a fun quick 8 hour investment and now I am ready for Devil's Cartel

Today:

Batman: Arkham Asylum Game of the Year (PS3)

It had been a while since I last played the game and was determined to finally finish the game. Scarecrow's areas gave me the screaming heebee jeebees and the puzzles were challenging but only frustrating in certain spots. I was quite satisfied when the ending credits played. The game is awesome!

Oh, sweet zombie Jesus, it's finally over. I can honestly say I've never been happier to be finished with a game. For as much as I complain about this game, I do like it. Aspects of it, anyway. It's got a good story, beautiful music, it's one of the best looking Final Fantasy games up to this point in the series and it's fairly fun. Then again, the entire game is basied around throwing obtuse walls of shit at you and saying "Figure it the fuck out. No, I don't care about your damn levels, deal with it". By the time I got to the final dungeon, I was honestly thinking "Can we PLEASE be done with this?" I'll say this much for it, I liked it enough that I've got the second game waiting for me on my shelf, but I think I'm going to need some therepy before I start it.

Man, I'm SO glad I went back to Silent Hill: Origins after shelving it so long ago. The reason I shelved it after just 2 hours is because it seemed like a really lazy port of the PSP version (which I owned, but returned after discovering it was available for PS2), and I hated a lot of the changes they made to the series like breakable weapons, fixed camera angles (because there's no right analog on the PSP, I assumed), etc.. The thing is, I hated Silent Hill 4: The Room so much because of the changes (mainly the unkillable 'ghosts' that you had to constantly run from, and the STUPID hub world apartment that would get cursed after a while and you've have to use candles on) that I never finished it. It left a chip on my shoulder because I was SUCH a HUGE Silent Hill fan before The Room.

My October horror gaming tradition is the reason I decided to go back to Origins and ones I gave it a fair shake I was hooked. I fucking LOVED this game. It completely fucked my mind up, in true Silent Hill form. Hell, I might actually go back and finish part 4 before the year's over.

Never have I simultaneously loved and hated a game so much. Amazing atmosphere, bringing that ol' Disney magic by the bucketful. Very nostalgic to play through, having grown up within walking distance of Disneyland myself. I really loved the twisted, dark take on Disneyland attractions. But broken, I mean shattered, camera system, bad hit detection and a game comprised almost entirely out of fetch quests really pulls this game down into the muck. There is practically nothing, gameplay-wise, about this game that isn't broken to a certain extent.

Still, another thing I like about the visual aesthetic is how much it reminds me of Earthworm Jim, and how this would be what I imagine a modern reboot would look like if we ever got one. Just change Mickey shooting paint to EWJ with his hairdryer-gun-thingie, and uh, fix the camera situation and we are good! It even has a ton of cows!

Crazy thrill ride of a game. Lots of action. Some kinda creepy moments but I felt a lil lack luster in the scary aspects that the first game held.
Alot more high end action sequences though. Some really cool updates in game play and did a good job adding to the story of the game. The ending felt kinda bs but whatever can't win em all.

TT cranks out another fun LEGO game, as expected. This one used the formula set up with LEGO Batman 2, in that it's got a free roaming overworld (far less cluster fucking this time) and voiced characters (audio taken directly from the movies, although it does have a kind of Youtube Poop feel to it). As with all I have with all of the TT LEGO games with only one exception, I highly recommend this game.

I beat Halo 4 yesterday. While the game got better the more I played thru it the ending was pretty meh. As for the multiplayer, it's missing a few key modes. That isn't a big deal since most will probably be added in later but they have really gone out of their way to emulate Call of Duty's play style and I can't say I'm completely happy about that. I also knocked out the last Virtual View game. So now I just need to beat one more to make it an even 30 games for the year.

Cleared The Legend of Zelda in the Zelda Collector's Edition on GameCube yesterday. First time through missing 2 heart containers and having 12 bombs (I assume max is 20, so missing two upgrades). Took me a long time to finally get around to it and I think the single largest deterrent was this: Level 2. For years I couldn't find it or have the patience but recently I finally spent a little time and it paid off. It's tough to be sure and so far the 2nd Quest is tougher still but it's still fair and easier than a lot of other NES fare.

Looking towards wrapping a few more up before the year is done.

I just recently beat Altered Beast for the Sega Genesis. Yeah, I know, it's an easy game, but it took me a little while to finish the damn thing. I never used any continues or anything. I know most people could finish this game in their sleep, but it took me a while to figure out how to beat the 3rd boss. Then it took me a little while to figure out how to beat the 4th boss. The 5th and final boss was actually the easiest boss in the whole game !

Wow...... Good thing i got it at such a cheap price on steam... The game almost felt broken at times its so glitchy and buggy.

Basically its a gta knock off game in the aspect you play a 3rd person shooter with a open world with the ability to let you play the game how ever you want with its vast array of mission styles.

I just wanted to blast through the story missions so i could move onto number 2 (which i hope is much better and i've seen a buddy of mine play it on his xbox 360 and it looked good).

Some of the missions feel like they don't tell you enough on what exactly your suppose to do so your left going "what the hell am I suppose to do now?". and some of the stuff you do seems stupidly pointless like for instance theres a mission you have jump from one plane to another... but it won't let you jump out of the plane and use its signature grapple gun to reel you in like you would on other planes or helicopters. Why who the hell knows.. It wants you to fly stupidly close to the second plane and litterally jump from plane to plane...

Also theres a mission where you gotta take back a armored bank truck and take it to a open parking garage and destroy the money by burning it up.... But..... if you blow the truck up its mission failed...... Doesn't make sense.

Also some of the mechanics are as about as broken as can be. The plane to plane jump mission i describe.. you are being chased by 2 jets shooting missiles at you at the same time and if you look back the jets are moving back zig zagging in a way it looks like they aren't flying but static and just being moved back and forth. its weird and un realistic movement.

The graphics felt like they were some where between GTA 3 and GTA VC (and yes i know they used the same engine in those 2 games but they still freshened it up with enhancements to make feel better).. the cut scenes felt like they were designed for a PS1 game and the game was released in 2006... come on!

All in all this game pretty much sucks and feels like it was way way way over rushed and not tested properly before it left the door at Eidos.
