I am getting tired of this amiibo bullshit.

All I want is Dedede and Meta Knight, not because of collecting purposes, but because I love Kirby. I only purchase those amiibos that interest me, like Kirby, Mega Man, and Pac Man. I dont care about rarities and such.

But its a fucking pain. Gamestop got a few Dedede's in yesterday, like 2-3, only for them to be sold between associates. Today they had Ness, which I was barely able to get one.

I know of the situation regarding the docks, strike, and that bull. But all this is fucking ludicrous. I may never get a Dedede or Meta Knight all because of Nintendo's fucktard practices.

I did order a Rosalina and Jiggly, and it came to like 27$ shipped which is cool.

I went into gamestop today on the way back from picking my kid up, they had NESS, so since I kind of like it and it falls into my 8/16bit games I had of the era map I grabbed it, cool little figure and nothing near as nauseating as what the Japanese toys go for on ebay too. :D The dude told me again like before the Nintendo rep promises all those ones people scalp will be back in stores in the next couple months from now. I joked to him, yeah one of each, and we were both hoping that wasn't the case.

megaskirby totally understand your issue, you and I are the same. While you're sticking to one game, I'm sticking to what I had as a kid/teen in elementary school through highschool, yet I'm also avoiding the overly common stuff I really don't feel the need to grab up due to overstock(kirby himself, the SMB crew stuff.) I just have as I said earlier Samus, Toon Link(exception to rule chose it over Ocarina looking Link), Mega Man and Pac-Man, today Ness. I'd like to get Pit, Cap'n Falcon, Little Mac, Fox, Charizard of the current ones. Upcoming if memory serves the ROB(I had a test launch system), Duck Hunt, maybe one of those 8bit Marios, probably it as Game&Watch guy is just bland. I'd go for the Fire Emblem guys too if they served a purpose to me at the time like Shulk which is too late to matter now. I have just once ever seen Dedede and it was a few at Meijer back when it came out, that one time, never restocked. I've never seen MetaKnight in person.

I'll pick up an amiibo if they're available and I either don't have it and am genuinely interested in the character, or if it's to help someone out.

I did get a Ness today from the friendly close-to-home Gamestop. That was nice. :-D

I haven't decided if he will join the team next to my Wii U, or if I want Lucina more...

Has anyone read the news that Dark Pit is Best Buy exclusive and Pautlena is Amazon exclusive....fucking Amazon exclusive. Umreal. So unless you have no job or are very lucky you would have to pay a scalper. This exclusive bullshit is well...bullshit. Fuck Nintendo Luckily I bought imports and got those two and Zero Suit Samus and Ganondorf. Has anyone seen Charizard and Wario in the wild? All I see is Pac Man, Pac Man and more Pac Man. I'd never thought those two would be scarce.

I dont think it will be super difficult to get Palutena & Dark Pit. With Palutena, Amazon is limiting it to one per address so people cant buy a million of them. Plus I think because its Amazon they will have a decent amount on day one. Im sure she will sell out but not in 2 minutes like Jigglypuff. If you cant get her day one I wouldnt rush to get it from a scalper.
With Dark Pit, I read that each target is getting 100 D.P. each. Again these will sell out but if you show up on the release date you can probably get one without standing in line for an hour.
I think the NO Pre-order thing is great, but I do think this 'exclusive' stuff is bullshit.

I had some ebay bucks and bought a Japanese Palutena, but of course the shipping box got totally crushed in the mail. This is the last amiibo I buy on ebay, thats for sure. The figure itself was not impressive. The details were not done well, which is a shame. The face was ok but everything else was just messy. There was also 2 big black dots on the front of her white dress. It looked like she spilled coffee on herself. Im wondering if the Palutenas that get shipped to North America will be nicer than this one. I only have one other amiibo with sloppy paint/details, and thats Fox.

Never saw Charizard, and the only time I saw Wario was on release day at Toys-r-us. I think everybody though these 2 would be easy to find so everybody was struggling to get Ness, Lucina and Robin instead. The Wario amiibo is pretty awesome, hes one of my favorites.
Pac-Man is really easy to find right now, I think that probably because hes just not as popular as the others. The Toys-r-us near me has been fully stocked with Pac-Mans for over a month now. When Toys-r-us got restocked with Toad last month, they all sold out in less than 2 days.

I wouldnt open the Splatoon 3-pak. I think nintendo discontinued that one. They are re-releasing the 3 figures with seperate packaging for NA but thats probably it for the 3-pak.

If you don't care about trolling people for money open it. They're just Amiibo and mass produced and will be even more so as time goes along. I've seen Wario once, when I was out in CA for about 2 weeks at a Frys, but never elsewhere and not in my state, just like I've just once seen Dedede at Meijer here and never again in town.

I think if you're not a box nut and just want to display or use them, buy from out of the country so you don't get screwed, and better yet, buy them open box. :) I've never seen Charizard, would like to find one though.

Now back to just being annoyed about Captain Falcon, Fox, Lil Mac, and Pit -- until the wave with 8bit Mario, ROB, Duck Hunt and so on drop as you know the flippers will be out in force with a selection like that wave and close enough to Christmas where they can scrape up even more from someone christmas shopping desperate. :(

I am getting Mr. Game and Watch, Dr. Mario, and 8-bit Mario and taking them all out of the box. I don't care. Especially the very first one, he's actually special because you can change the "figurine" on top because it's still 2D. I guess they did that because making one mold cost a fourth of what it does for a standard Amiibo.

Also, the Chibi-Robo one.

I think they're like September/October, somewhere in there. That's why I snarked they're just in time for the crooks to gobble up everything to get a real high premium for the Christmas shoppers they'll be lining up to screw who can't find them for their kids or themselves. Dr, Mario doesn't look interesting. Bowser Jr looks pretty neat, Olimar looks cute but I don't really care to get it. All in all these three look lackluster. Dark Pit and Pautlena and the other two look cool. I might pick those if I can get them.

Store exclusives are going to be the shitty legacy of Amiibo. Well, that and keeping Nintendo afloat during a tumultuous time in their company history.

I still laugh whenever I walk by the Amiibo section in any store: full of Luigi. I've seen stores sold out of every Amiibo but him, and they have 20+ Luigis in stock. I think Luigi might actually be more common than Mario simply because no one wants him.

I did try adding two at the same time, and it warned me about purchasing 1 per customer. So the limit is set into place, but it seems to be per user.

It was up there longer than I expected, didn't grab it, but watched here and there. And no surprise, the poachers are already up with them and the lowest is $56 before shipping. Lame. I feel bad for anyone who wanted one.

Yep, pretty much lasted an hour or so. This tells me Amazon had ample amounts of the Amiibo.

Hopefully, I will be lucky picking up Dark Pit at Best Buy on Friday. If not, at least I have a spare Palutena to trade for it.

I agree, it seems the stock is higher than before, but still apparently not enough since the ones who wanted to poach and flip for 4x the price got away with it. The good side was if someone could be on for that hour, they got what they wanted. I could have snapped it up, but Pit comes before Palutena.

I showed up at Best Buy this morning 1 hour before they opened up and was #33 in line. The store I was at was the only Best Buy in my state that got Dark Pit and they had 37 for sale. The good people of best buy passed out papers with numbers for the people waiting. Customers would show up 30-40 minutes before opening and left. A customer rep from Nintendo also showed up and took a picture of the line. It was fun standing in line talking to the other peeps waiting.

After I grabbed Dark Pit I went over to Toys-r-us and snagged the last Wario they had left.

This weekend, Aug 8th there is going to be a Gamestop pre-order 'event' (whatever that means) for a 3-pack of the ROB, Game&Watch, and Duck Hunt amiibos.
Get ready for the insanity, Im guessing these will be alot more popular than the previous amiibos. Gotta be at the store to preorder and its on a Saturday so prepare to wait in line..

But wasn't it supposed to be exlusive to Power Up Rewards Members first???

Doors open at 9am for everyone, no PowerUp Rewards Pro card required.
The lowest numbers expected seem to be in the low-30s, but many stores will be well-stocked.
Stores should be posting available pre-order stock Friday evening.
Information has been relayed by District Managers and as such there is no written proof.
Right now it is unclear as to whether the individual amiibo will be available outside of this 3-pack. Leaning toward this being the only way to get them in NA.
If ever store in the US receives ~30 3-packs, and there are 4,434 stores in the US, that's 133,020.

I think that might have been a rumor... and I think the rumor was they would open an hour early for Pro Rewards Members. I think alot of people signed up for the pro rewards thinking they could get in early.

I am thinking that the 3-pack is the 3 seperate amiibos NOT in a 3 pack like the Splatoon amiibos.. Ive also heard that Mr. Game and Watch is going to be a gamestop exclusive only available in the 3 pack. Its still to early to say for sure.

This is going to suck. At least there are a few of them clustered in a close area by me so if one is blown I'll hit the next as I work my way to the freeway. :P

Only managed to get two: for my brother and myself. The third was cancelled with the following email:

Yep. My brother and I did.

As of yesterday, preorders were still open for it (at my local GameStop near work). So I don't think availability will be an issue here.

My scare is the next wave, particularly the "exclusives" like Bowser Jr and Dr. Mario. These are amiibos I won't be able to get that I want (because of the characters) :(

I pre-ordered it, felt dirty doing it for little plastic toys. Local store is supposedly felt to be a big location one east of me here just a few miles and were allotted 61 packages. By the time I got there around 11am they had gone through a few but not a heap of them. I just don't need the headache.

I really wasn't too interest in Game & Watch guy but the other two I was so I figured it would be cheaper than going the other route. $35 for 3 is already a deal as 3 alone would be $39 though they're not sold that way. I can only imagine how much people will attempt to get for the packages online, even if they are in abundance as they'll want their cut, the costs, shipping and packaging costs, it'll still be higher. And getting them alone a US copy would be a premium, or you pay for overseas shipping which sucks either way.

I even got an email the day after the order that the items maybe delayed due to availability. Yet they have always been in stock. Even now, they are in stock. Great, just great.

I even made ANOTHER order yesterday. Same outcome.

I am pretty sure Walmart discriminates against PR.

Yes and it's amusing. They're basically saying screw you to Nintendo for their 1 game limit on Amiibo so they can sell duplicates to active users of the things. It's like a dexdrive or a to->pc flash kit device where you dock em, drop the data off the device, and can restore it later.

Looks like that sale only applies to select Skylanders toys and is a "buy 2, get 1 free" deal unless it is a sale which is different than the one advertised in their circular. But then "buy 2 get 3 free" sounds much too generous for GameStop.

By the way guys, isn't it interesting how Hammer Slam Bowser and Turbo Charged Donkey Kong are the only Amiibo which are compatible with the Wii?

No rights, no representation other than a joke seat of no power in congress (house only.)

Anyway, that's not bad on charizard, too bad Dr Mario will be the next hurdle. That one is fairly tempting. Believe it or not I do not have any of the Mario crew, have actually avoided them as they're so easy to snap up. The mario on my desk is the racoon jumper SMB3 Mc Donalds happy meal toy from like 1989. Dr Mario though that is tempting as I like the look of it, and i used to play the hell out of that game in the 80s and 90s, but oddly I can barely touch it anymore as it seems to stand with most puzzle games. I just get bored.

I just wish the next wave date would pop up already as I want to get Duck Hunt, Rob and G&W Guy on my desk.
