Yes, much like Best Buy recently did, CC is clearing out older games for cheap. An official list hits Tuesday but the price drops are already in effect in the computer, so I scanned as much as I could in my free time today at work to see what rang up cheap. Here are my findings:

Not yet, but they bought some Canadian store out and you should have them soon. I know this becuase they woke me up at 9AM to tell me this shit about a month ago in a storewide meeting...whooptie-fuck-do.


Also, good luck finding a lot of those $5 games Cmosfm listed from CAG. I haven't seen some of them in ages, and some of them I don't remember EVER seeing at my store. Hopefully the CAG crowd won't turn the next week into a hellride. We have 2 guys that are pretty nice that come in when we run deals (one offered to give up the last copy of Rez because I had mentioned considering it), but most of the rest are just assholes.

I didn't post anything at CAG, since that place is a breeding ground for greedy gamemongers (not that DP is completely void of those :D ), I figured I'd let DP in on this now-not-so-secret deal first. Thanks for those two you mentioned, I might have to try out DOA Volleyball for $5. I have a whole stack of games set aside at work to pick up later this week.

I might start a definitive list culled from personal experience and DP users input if the interest is there. Keep in mind that this deal runs until the 30th!

Thanks to you folks I picked up 7 (6 kid friendly :D ) titles for their GameCube. I aways heard great things about Viewtiful Joe; now we can finally play it. :popcorn:

I was at CC today and I had no idea this was going on and wouldn't have unless this one guy hadn't shared his four page print out of games that were supposed to be $4.99. He had grabbed most of the good stuff but was nice enough to give me a copy of Vietiful Joe he had in his basket. He shared his list with everyone who was in the video game area so that CC is pretty much dead now. Still came away with 10 games :)

Yep, they're honoring our country's birthday with a 2-day sale. Nice finds everyone, you guys found a lot more than I ever did at my store! When CC ran the 50% off sale after Christmas it seems that most of the CAGs blew their load then, leaving us with not as much backstock as I wish we had now!

I'm off tomorrow but I think I'll make the trip back out there to pick up those I stashed away today. Now I just need to convince myself to get a ps2 so I can enjoy half of the cheap games I'll be buying!

Someone please tell me why I have the worst f***ing luck with these sales. I wasn't able to go yesterday, so I go today at opening. I get to the game section and they have everyone game on the list in the cart by the register. Here's the conversation between myself and employees (short version):

ME: Are these the games that are selling for $4.99
CC: Yeah, but thats a mistake. They are not supposed to be that price.
ME: Well they are that price all around the country and you guys were selling these yesterday for this price.
CC: Did those games have a $4.99 sticker on them or were they ringing up $4.99.
ME: They ring up $4.99
CC: Well were not selling them even if they ring up $4.99.

Manager comes over and asks if I need help, and I ask him and he says there was a "computer malfunction" or something like that. WTF...all these stores were selling this shit all yesterday and they didn't catch this "malfunction". He claims that the real sale doesn't start until the 11th, and you know by then all of the games will be gone. I f***ing hate this BS!!!!

Wow...that's some fucking bullshit. Tell them to call their music hotline and have them confirm that $4.99 is indeed the correct price for the games. If you have a credit card or a good deal of money in the bank, pick up the titles you want now and have them price match them on the 11th. You get 110% of the difference, making the deals even better! That really sucks, but knowing my managers it's not that surprising. Assholes.

I sure wish mine had more that I wanted, but alas. They said several people got in there already today and many of the employees didn't know what was going on. One employee actually bought my list off me for a buck when I was done with it so that he could use it ;)

I must not be good at this :embarrassed: ...I guess most of you just take a gamble and take the games up to the register? I didn't want to end up in a weird situation where I say "oh...nm" if they all ringed up for the prices on the tag (the bin games had tags ranging from 11.99-14.99).

when i went i saw too other people with lists. Those that we grab were definately $5, however we did pull a few other that werent on the list.

Just go there with a list and starting looking in the shelves, not the bin.

All I did was go up to the guy at the register and asked him "I think these are on sale but I'm not positive. Do you mind scanning them for me so I can be sure?". I brought a huge stack up there...most were $4.99. Some weren't. I paid for the $4.99 ones and put the rest back. Real simple.

Hey Drexel923, give it another try. I had almost the word for word same coversation with a SM this morning, went to another CC (luckily there are 4 around me) and came back later in the day. He apologized for being a dick and said that He was told by his DM not to sell them at that price. He even had one of the employees there get the list off GameFaq's website. After that he told me to buy as many as I wanted.

Because of this I lost out on the lone copy of Shining Soul, which I was going to play on the vacation flight, so again if anyone has an extra...

I decided to go back because I was getting that sick feeling I got when I missed the BB sale (it was worse this time since I was there earlier and just walked out :roll:).

After tax rang up 48 bucks and some change. If you're heading to the Concord CA store, there was one more Boktai sitting on the shelf along with some other stuff (I thought about buying it for trade/Ebay fodder...who wouldn't?...but then I remembered how fucked I felt when everyone bought out BB...so I left it...a small non-greedy gesture, but it felt nice for some weird reason :D at least nice enough for me to mention it in this post =P).
