Post subject: Suikoden IV - Free Promotional Items

Suikoden IV Official Webpage

http://www.konami.com/gs/suikoden4/official/flash/

If you head over to the "Promotions" section you'll notice that they have quite a sweet liittle promotion going on right now. Basically, after you give Konami some personal information, you can enter special passwords in order to get some nice free stuff. 3 passwords scores you a CD of Suikoden music, 5 passwords gets you a Suikoden coin, and lastly, 7 passwords get you a wallscroll. As of now, I've found the following codes:

1. Electronic Gaming Monthly advertisement: magsnowe48
2. Suikoden Flash Puzzle Game: chiepoo19
3. Suikoden Flash Battleship Game: kooluk63

Right there are already enough passwords to at least score the CD. The "Clues" section also reveals that the Suikoden IV Art Book also has a code in it. If anyone could help the CAGs out with that code, I'm sure we'd all be very grateful. As of now, I suspect that there's probably also a password included with the game itself, maybe the player's guide? More magazine advertisements? Keep an eye open.

Update: New Code Found!

Suikoden IV Manual: 150razril5

http://cheapassgamer.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=47443

There are also numbers in the back of the Art Books. People have been putting in random numbers between 20,000 and 30,000 for the last 3 codes. The art book codes can only be registered once per number, but the above codes can be used by everyone.

Peoples art codes are getting stolen by the second, so if you have one i suggest registering it

Hey, thanks for the info! I'm going to try this out!

Four codes plus if I can find the fifth one in my art book is good for both the CD and the coin.

Many thanks to you, sir. I wouldn't mind a Suikoden soundtrack, especially one that drew from the entire series.

I wonder if my artbook's number is still valid, and if they take Suikoden coins down at the liquor store.

I entered my five codes (along wiht my valid art book one) so I'm at least getting the CD and the coin. I assume more items will be added later so you can get the 6th nad 7th codes! :D

maxlords

No numbers can be entered multiple times. If you do, you're automatically disqualified according to the rules. Don't do it!

I actually already sent an email to Konami today complaining about people taking advantage of the contest in that way, along with forum links to those places. I'm sure they'll crack down on em and disqualify them, as the rules state specifically that anyone using artificial means to enter the contest with extra numbers will be disqualified.

Except if you live in Quebec. ;)

Yes, there are four codes NOT counting the unique code in the back of the art book. They can be found:
In the manual
In magazine game ad
2 by winning online games at the Suikoden 4 website

Those codes can be used numerous times, but only ONCE by each person.

And the code in the back of the art book can only be used ONCE, period.

If you have a art book, make sure your code is'nt stolen -- enter it now!

No 6th or 7th codes that I know off yet. If anyone hears what they are, PLEASE enter them here! Or at least a clue on how to get it. :D

The Loot
Alright, you’ve searched high and low for the passwords to unlock the treasure chests. There’s a limited amount of treasure chests so hunt for your password keys quickly before they’re all gone. Passwords can only be used once per entry, so you’ll have to search for different passwords in order to unlock any of the chests.

Treasure Chest #1: 3 Passwords needed to Unlock
- An exclusive limited edition Music CD featuring tracks from all 4 Suikoden games.
Treasure Chest #2: 5 Passwords needed to Unlock
- An exclusive limited edition Suikoden Coin
Treasure Chest #3: 7 Passwords needed to Unlock
- An exclusive Suikoden IV Silk Wallscroll

For example: Collect three passwords and receive the treasure from Chest #1. Collect 5 passwords and receive the treasure from Chest #1 and #2. Collect all 7 passwords and receive the treasure from all three chests. You may re-enter your information if you find additional passwords. You must enter with the same contact information and must re-enter all the previously verified passwords. By participating in this promotion, you agree to register in the Konami Insider club by filling out your full name, complete home address, including zip code, date of birth, gender, email address, and any other requested fields and follow the instructions at the web site. By becoming a registered member of the Konami Insider service you incur no obligations other than your agreement to be bound by the Konami Insider Terms of Service and to receive emails and/or promotional information from Konami. You may opt-out of the receipt of such emails by following the directions in the first email you receive.

Go to http://www.konami.com/suikoden4/official for details on the promotion, to enter or for a copy of these rules.
(Entrants may not enter with multiple email and/or multiple identities nor may
entrants use any other device or artifice to obtain additional entries. Any entrant who attempts to participate with multiple email and/or multiple identities may be disqualified.)

The key is the quote at the bottom which I restated separately. That method is a device or artifice to obtain additional entries. I'm sure Konami will find a way to disqualify people for it.

chiepoo19

i emailed them and said i just made up the numbers, and they can delete them if they want so the person who actually owns that art book can be apart of the contest. I also suggested that they just not count ANY of the artbook numbers, because that would seem to be the only "fair" way to solve this.

that is just my 2 cents tho.

Hm, maybe it doesn't work then. I just thought maybe it worked because when I tried it, it said that some has already used that number.

SoulBlazer

Strange. But yeah, I know it can't be the SLUS number because that's a part number, and it's on the box as well. I tried it anyway (in lower case) and it said it was invalid.

I did this earlier today as well, but I'm a little confused. The rules say that you can only enter each code once per household, but it also says that you can comeback to enter codes at a later date, but you'll have to re enter your personal info and previous codes.

How are you supposed to do this? Because say I go back in a week to enter code six, to do so I'll have to reenter all the other passwords including the one on the artbook, how will this not disqualify me?

Or did I misunderstand the rules and the only thing I have to re enter is the contact info, and then put the new codes in.

I agree with you here.

I signed up using FireFox this morning and entered three codes, then when I went to enter the fourth about an hour later, I had to re-enter my personal info. So here, I registered twice.

I returned home from work today with an artbook in hand and decided to use IE because the codes weren't being listed in FireFox, and registered again.

That makes 3 registries, but no confirmation that either of them us successful. =/

I just got a confirmation email from Konami about "registering my new Konami product", so that's proably with the promotion contest.

maxlords
01-22-2005, 11:24 PM
Yeah, they don't send any straightforward confirmation at all. They actually specified that in the rules...they said you'd have to reenter your information exactly as it was before and possibly re-enter your codes (some people haven't had to reenter their codes tho). They don't confirm anything, but you will eventually get an email from Konami thanking you for registering your product. It took several hours for me to get that email.

Other than that, if you end up with more codes, you will have to reenter your information exactly as before so it goes on the same account. Don't wait for any sort of confirmation...as I assume you won't get it until they ship out prizes.

It says that you can enter as many times as you like, but only one prize will be sent to each household, so if you register 50 times and the highest number of registers is 6 codes, they'll send you the first two prizes and then discount the other 49 entries. It's a completely archaic way to do it, but hopefully I'll at least be getting a soundtrack and the other crap. I really really want the freakin wallscroll though

I used Safari and I got my confirmation email earlier today (I entered the codes yesterday afternoon).

I've entered 5 so far and am searching for the others, but now I have a dilema. Do I fly through the rest of Suiko IV to see if there is a code at the end, or do I go through it with a fine tooth comb to see if there are any codes hidden in the game?

Whatever I decide to do I'll have to do it fast cause the contest rules say that the sooner you enter the codes the better chance you have of getting the items cause they are limited. If I find anything in the game I'll let you all know.

If I plow through it I should finnish tomorrow as I'm already on chapter 9 out of 12.
