Not having read the whole 18 pages of this thread, I noticed the request for a pic of the spine of Virtua Tennis with graphics. You can see it here:

I love my N-gage QD- although I probably would not have gotten into it if I hadn't found 29 titles at EB games just after X-mas 05- in the bargain bin at 2$ each tax incl Canadian. Makes making a collection REAL easy- especially when you buy up most of the available stock and resell the duplicates to pay off the stuff you want to keep.

I actually read all 18 pages of the thread :embarrassed: :D

Oh, I had another question - do any of you guys play in the N-Gage arena? Think it's worth getting a data account on my phone for it?

I wouldn't get a data account unless you're using it as your cell phone. You can access the arena through your computers internet with bluetooth. A quick search should turn up some instruction on how to do it.

I had a data account for a bit and it was pretty fun playing people over the arena on the bus or train. Now there aren't as many people online so you have to check the arena boards to see when they have events lined up. Pathway to Glory and High Seize are great arena games.

Warning for anyone ordering an n-gage through letstalk.com, theres no way to get the 4 free games listed on the site as available. I even tried calling them and they were completely lost. I eventually gave up, so my n-gage will be here either friday or saturday! Its going to be a great new phone, and a great match for my 33 games and car adapter I have. It is really a disappointment that sidetalkin and removing the battery is what drove the n-gage too far for the QD to bring it back, it really seems like a great phone.

Warning for anyone ordering an n-gage through letstalk.com,

as many of us here have discovered it really takes talking to the right person and finding that right person might take five different phone calls x_x some letstalk.com employees don't even know they sell n-gage games or even what a n-gage is. it is however also possible that the 4 free games is expired since they hardly ever update the site.

Cool, thanks. I am using it as my phone but maybe I'll look into getting a bluetooth adapter for my computer and get on that way.

hey guys, anyone reading this thread i figured might be interested in seeing this. this is the fourth ngage display i know of, the other three being the wall mount two in one, single stand alone(like from cingular) and the two in one stand alone(which was about 6' tall).i just got this one today...too bad the GM made the guys take the ngages off...i was able to get another NFR though - Ashen.

EDIT: the photo makes the background look rainbow, but its all silver, with little swirls all over it.

yeah i just saw one of those the other day at a Gamestop in San Francisco. It was at the one in the mission if anyone was thinking about trying to get it. I personally don't have room for display units although i think they're cool.

ngage website has both payload and warhammer as "out now", so id guess letstalk should send them out within a couple of weeks. ive preordered both and havent heard either way.

Hey, the 2006 E3 building has a huge N-Gage banner hanging from the front. Is Nokia going to announce something big/cool? Anyone heard anything about this? If anyone is going to E3, keep us posted. I don't expect much N-Gage news from the "usual suspects."

Link to webpage (http://www.joystiq.com/2006/05/07/sneak-peek-at-e3-with-pics/)

Just the picture (http://www.joystiq.com/media/2006/05/joystiqe3_convcent_cg6.jpg)

ok, maybe not huge, but pretty big . . .

Hey N-gage has a site for all their E3 info. They're are a bunch of videos up now that show new games and how the new system works.

Ok, are the new games going to be released for the current NGage or are these for the upcoming NGage 2? I can't imagine any new development for the current system, but who knows. Oh and why a sequel to One? That was my least favorite of the mail order games.

I've been trying to read between the lines because I think its kind of unclear which games if any of the new ones will be playable on the old N-Gage hardware. All the new N-Gage games on the e3 site are for the smartphones. The smartphones aren't backward compatible with the original n-gage games. Games like One and System Rush are more like remixes than sequels although System Rush looks quite different.

If you watch some of the videos you can see they do have QD's at the booth and some are running Shadow Born. I'm guessing that we will still see a few more original N-Gage releases. Interesting they didn't re-code Pathway to Glory for the smartphones since it is one of the most popular arena games.

IGN has an article on their wireless section about N-Gages E3 show. Talks mostly about their x-box live type system but also mentions that Nokia still has plans for releasing a game style phone in the future. They also said that Nokia may also continue retail in addition to the downloadable format.

If they release another gaming style phone I'll keep with the system.

Cool, more games is definitely a good thing. I saw a bit of Habbo Islands on the Nokia E3 page and it looks like something new and different for the system. Hopefully more of the new games run on the old QD - some of those new N-Series phones don't look exactly easy to game on.

Prior to the N-Gage I had a Nokia 3650 which is similar to the N-Gage but not nearly as easy or fun to play games on. Another gamer-style phone would be great, especially if it has a camera on it too.

I gotta ask too... has anyone in the USA gotten either Warhammer or Payload (I'm talking about the USA versions.)

Anyone? I've called LetsTalk.com and they are clueless.

warhammer is in stock at letstalk...i talked to a guy who was 'gonna try to get this shipped out' - but that was two weeks ago. they arent supposed to ship parts of orders anymore, so they wanted to wait until payload was released to ship warhammer. whenever that may be...ill try again and repost later.

qbertandernie
05-23-2006, 04:34 PM
according to letstalk.com, who i am on the phone with now, warhammer should begin shipping soon, as payload has been cancelled. apparently my warhammer hasnt shipped because the entire order has to be ins tock for one item to ship, thus, since payload is not being produced, it was on hold indefinately. anyone with both games on preorder may want to calla nd get payload removed from thier order, which should allow warhammer to ship.

trouble? ask for Shonteah...

thanks for the info. I was waiting for Payload. I called and had it removed from my order. I wonder why they cancelled Payload? It wasn't that long ago they launched the official site. Maybe its being moved to a download only game.

no idea why they cancelled it. the girl i talked to said i was supposed to call them (letstalk.com) about that game having been cancelled (though i didnt know it had been). it was noted on my order that i was supposed to call them!

everytime i call, im more astounded by what they tell me...

Funny... I post the question today and LetsTalk.com calls me this afternoon. Same story. Helpful but ignorant. The woman took Payload off my order and is shipping out Warhammer. Man, I was looking forward to Payload! Looks like a Twisted Metal type deal. I hope it comes out in some form.

Anyone hear any more about ShadowBorn?

I recently got an N-Gage from the demo kiosk at the gamestop I work at (I kept one of the systems and the game with it before they tossed the display) and surprisingly enough, I think it's a pretty cool system. I need to pick up more games for it, and I have a good idea of where to look so I'm not too worried about that. What I am wondering about is, how rare/valuable are the demo games they had for the kiosks? I have SSX somewhere in my apartment and Fifa 2005, they're full games, SSX just has "Not for resale" printed on the label, and Fifa is on a card with a plain white label that says:

FIFA 2005
ver 093004
POS

and "NOT FOR SALE" diagonally across it in red. No EA logo or anything either, it looks like something that someone uneducated like myself would mistake as a test cart for Nokia. So yeah, I plan on keeping it all, especially since it was free, I was just wondering how the market was for promotion N-Gage stuff.

I also just opened up the back of the N-Gage to check the sim card in it and it has a blank sim card, and the serial label says "Property of Nokia PROTO" on it :d

Meh. I don't think they are incredibly valuable. I have picked up a few of them for $5. Does the Kiosk N-Gage have a battery, or can you only use it when it is plugged into the wall? I know another guy who got one, and it didn't have a battery. So, he ordered a battery from Nokia, but it still wouldn't work. I'm wondering if the kiosk N-gages are somehow different. Does anyone know?

I have an original Ngage and a QD that were both demo units and they both run off a battery. The batteries look the same but the QD one is a little thicker and doesnt fit right in the original Ngage.

Yep, they come complete just like the retail ones including a seal and outer wrap.

LetsTalk is the only place I know that sells the American versions of these games. Too bad much of the staff are not so smart. If you get an idiot just hang up and try again.

Your only other option is ebay.

Have fun. I played the hell of of my QD last night.

anywhere from $14.99 for atari 1 to $24.99 for Warhammer...

Do these come complete with cases and manuals? Does anyone know?

Yep, they come complete just like the retail ones including a seal and outer wrap.

LetsTalk is the only place I know that sells the American versions of these games. Too bad much of the staff are not so smart. If you get an idiot just hang up and try again.

Your only other option is ebay.

Have fun. I played the hell of of my QD last night.

Hi my name is Chris and I now collect for Ngage.

After having this score:

http://www.digitpress.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=990730#990730

I guess I am now an Ngage collector! :P

Any advice? Scoop up the letstalk.com games ASAP??

Another recent N-Gage fan ;)

My pics out of the letstalk.com games: Glimmerati, High Sieze and Mile High Pinball. Some of the best games on the system, IMO.

Also, get a big MMC card and load it up with movies, mp3's and emulators.

The games only available from letstalk.com come in standard cases with inserts and instructions just like the games bought retail. Some of them don't have barcodes on the back, but they all have ESRB ratings are are definitely not just PAL versions being resold. I should mention I'm talking about the North American versions.

I have to say for people just getting started with collecting for the N-Gage you picked the perfect time. With the instore games being sold for $3 and the online games still being available you all should be able to complete a collection cheaply. I don't imagine the N-Gage games growing in value that much but I imagine a year from now the games being much harder to find.

I think it might be safe to say that we hit the end of the line with N-Gage game cards at 54 US releases plus Sega Rally for a total of 55. A number that went higher than most people thought it would. I remember a thread over a year ago that was speculating SSX as the last N-Gage game. However, I think this really is the end.

So what will happen to Payload and Shadowborn? Will they be available for download or will they be going to some other cell phone platform entirely?

Anyone know?

my thoughts are all the games not released will be released as downloadable games on the new phones.

the Mile High Pinball shown at E3 is the same Mile High we all have. The only games that were different were One and System Rush and those games only run on that fancy new Nokia phone N9? I think for the most part the N-Gage games will be ported over to the smartphones unchanged.

I doubt I'll ever get a complete set of N-Gage games, but I'm trying like hell to get all of the games I want to play.

After beating Ghost Recon and becoming obscenely addicted to Pathway to Glory, I've decided to order the next 4 games I want to sink unhealthy amounts of my life into.

prepare for unhealthy amounts of life to sink into High Sieze and PTG Ikusa Islands for sure. I never really got into Rifts but I don't think that means its a bad game I just never got into it as much as the PTG games and High Sieze. I'm waiting for my copy of Warhammer as well.

Other games I sunk unhealthy amounts of my life into were Mile High Pinball, Glimerati, and Colin McRae Rally (everytime I play this game I can't believe i'm playing it on a cell phone).

Yeah I have both...The version with the name on the spine is much harder to find in my opinion. I bought it off somebody on the boards.

ok so this is kind of weird they cancel Payload then release a demo for it x_x http://arena.n-gage.com/n-gage/web/en/downloads/gamesdemos/index.html

I haven't tried it yet but some people on the N-Gage board have and say its horrible so maybe this one was best left undone.

I won't be able to try it out for at least a month due to being away from home. I'm interested in hearing how it plays and what people think about it though.

It's VERY rough - I can see why they decided to pull the plug on this one, the graphics are bad and it's hard to tell what's going on, if you're even hitting the other cars, etc.

On a positive note, Lumines Mobile plays great on the N-Gage :)

For Payload, load the files from the zip onto your memory card to the /system/apps and /system/libs directories as they're laid out in the zip. Plut the MMC back into your N-Gage and Payload should show up in your menu.

It did indeed. Thank yopu very much for the advice! The icon showed up just like you said!

Then it said "System Error" and shut down

Anyone have a fix? Could my N-Gae have a bunch of junk on it that's preventing the application from booting up? Anyone?
