Don't have pics, but I picked up a boxed X'Eye with about 10 CIB games. The best game of the lot is Popful Mail, but it also has both Eccos, Sonic, etc.

This was actually yesterday, but I didn't get a chance to post it. I picked up a copy of The Legend of Zelda Board Game is excellent condition. All it has is the standard shelf wear.

So I took one of the DS Polarium games I bought last night for $AUS5, kept the box, sold the rest of it to Cash Converters down the road for $AUS10, and printed an inlay for Metroid Prime Hunters First Hunt and put it in the box.. mine is superior. 8-)

Also, I bought DS Tiger Woods PGA Tour down there too.. I told the lady standing there I wanted to take a look at it, she hands it to me, then says "Hmm, there's another one here, does it have a lower price? ... it does" and swaps the $AUS30 one in my hand for the $AUS25 marked one :)

This week I got Super Mario 64 DS for £23 and Bomberman DS for £12.

Then I got a Megadrive 1, a Mega CD 2, a boxed Menacer Light gun, Desert Strike, Classic Collection, FIFA Soccer, and Menacer. All for £20.

The games are complete and the consoles have all the leads and two controllers, but the Megadrive doesnt have the cover to go on the expansion port. I think Desert Strike is a bootleg. The cartridge is a small one, instead of the big EA one. The manual is vertical and the colours on it are washy. The back of the cartridge says "Cautio".

I just got The King of Fighter EX: Neoblood for the GBA, in practically MINT condition (the box has a little bit of damage), for $15 shipped off eBay. It has EVERYTHING - manuals, inserts, even the registration card!

And you can tell whoever bought it... didn't like it. Apparently it was only played ONCE, since the Character Usage counter only showed three entries: Ryo, Kyo, and Ralf, all used one time. LOL I hope my SP doesn't puke while playing it... it's that bad!

On the other hand, I lost an auction for a sealed KOF EX2: Howling Blood by fifty goddamn cents. But the guy wanted $7 to ship the item in a bubble mailer, so he can go screw himself. :P

But I did get a Buy It Now on another GBA game I'd been looking for... which is an indirect sequel to one of my translations. Mwahahahahahahaha... more details when it gets here.

Pretty slow weekend...

in the mail:

Shin Megami Tensei Digital Devil Saga LE
a GC Broadband Adapter (about time! :D )
Tomba! 2 (for one of my friends... jewel case is fragged, but jewel cases are cheap)

a pleasant surprise from Comic Quest, Evansville, IN:

2 MINT (were sealed until I opened them) vintage issues of EGM2, and 1 minty EGM.

EGM is from June '94, has the "first info on Sonic 4", a Virtua Fighter cover and poster.

The EGM2 issues are from January '95 (#6, Batman & Robin cover, includes 3DO buyer's guide, and is freakin' huge) and May '95 (#10, amateurish Night Warriors cover, includes 1995 RPG buyer's guide, and is freakin' small).

One of them has an ad for Lufia for the Genesis in it (did that come out here?!) among other interesting stuff.

Since I've read them and really can't use them for art references, they're up for trade.

I hit three thrift stores today. Didn't find anything too rare, but I did manage to come away with a nice little haul...

Oh, and I forgot to take a shot of nice N64 I also found today. It came with 4 brand new looking controllers, all different colors for $13.00! The nice, new-ish controllers were main reason I bought it - mine were wearing out.

All in all, I paid around $30.00 for the whole day's finds.

Finally games have started arriving from trades I made, some from here some from gametz. I got:

Einhander (PS1)
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone (GCN) - New still sealed! Well, not for much longer.
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (GCN)
Resident Evil Outbreak File #2 Strategy Guide
Star Wars Episode III Revenge of the Sith (PS2)
Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic II The Sith Lords (PC)
Strikers 1945 (PS1)

I’ve been wanting Einhander again for a long time. I used to have it but lost track of my copy about five years ago… Don’t know what happened to it, must have loaned it out to someone and it never got returned. Trust me lesson learned, I don’t intend to ever let that happen again, plus it probably helps that I’m not planning to move 200 miles away for five years again.

Fan-fucking-tastic day for garage sales today. Garage sale season has officially started in my town!

First, yesterday at the thrifts I found these goodies. -Complete Lee Trevino's Fighting Golf, $1.80.
-King's Quest Companion, $1.00.
-Goo Gone, $1.29 from Goodwill. They are starting to sell a lot of new merch. these days. They are trying to be like the dollar store, only more expensive.
http://jibbajaba.com/mameleague/images/P1010251.JPG

First yard sale I hit is right down the street from me. Like new 13-inch Samsung flat screen TV with remote, $10. We needed a new TV for the bedroom, and this is perfect. Went right on top of the dresser.
http://jibbajaba.com/mameleague/images/P1010248.JPG

Walking back to my house carrying the TV, I spot a guy putting up flyers for his yard sale. I ask him if he has any games. "Yeah. You mean board games?" "No, video games." "Uh, yeah some old Sega Master System and Game Gear stuff." So I hot foot it back to Casa de Jibba and drop off the TV, then jam over to his sale a couple of streets over.

-Game Gear System
-Columns (GG)
-Sonic the Hedgehog (GG)
-Dragon Crystal (GG)
-Revenge of Drancon (GG)
-Manuals for all games and system
-AC adapter
-Car adapter
-External battery pack
-SMS light gun
-NES gray zapper gun
-Great Soccer (SMS)
-Pro Wrestling (SMS)
-Galaxy Force (SMS)
-Shinobi (SMS)
-Gear Master (SMS --> GG cart adapter) :D
All for $5 total.

Block sale near my neighborhood. No games, but a kid was selling fresh (still warm) homemade biscotti for 25 cents each, and I scored this phone, still boxed, plus an expansion handset and base (not pictured.) The price tag from Fry's on the phone was $179.99 and on the expansion handset was $69.99. He sold them to me for $5.00 total. Seems like a nice phone, and we could use a new one.
http://jibbajaba.com/mameleague/images/P1010253.JPG

Went to a few more sales downtown and didn't find bupkis. Then at the last one I found this sweet CD shelf for $5.00, and this Net MD player for $5.00. The MD player came with all the hookups and documentation and the CD. Basically everything but the box. If anyone wants to buy this, let me know. Otherwise it's going to eBay.
http://jibbajaba.com/mameleague/images/P1010249.JPG
http://jibbajaba.com/mameleague/images/P1010252.JPG

These are just some highlights from the last couple of weeks of hunting. Final Fantasy III and Chrono Trigger are both mint, and both came with manuals (not pictured). They were about $3 each. I bought them from a guy on craigslist. I was at his house buying a Barbeque from him, and I asked if he had any games for sale, as I had bought some Gameboy games from him a week prior. He pulls these out, plus Secret of Evermore (not pictured). Moral of this story? IT NEVER HURTS TO ASK!!! The Centipede MB game was $1.99 from Goodwill and is in pretty bad shape. The box was already pretty beat up, but then the stupid fucks at Goodwill taped the box shut by WRAPPING packing tape around it, and then someone spilled fruit punch on it while it was in the store. (I know this because the punch was on top of the tape). I haven't even tried to take the tape off yet. Sounds like a good job for my new bottle of Goo Gone. I found the game while out thrifting with evg2000, and he was the one who spotted it, but he let me take it. Thanks, dude!

This was my first day off in three weeks, so took advantage and went to Flea World.

NES Advantage - $5 - needed one badly.
Gradius (loose) - $5 (more than it's worth, but it's embarassing to not have Gradius, plus it's a great game)
Joe Montana Sports Talk Football (cib) - $0.99
Centurion: Defender of Rome (loose) - $0.99
Risky Woods (cib) - $6.99
Buck Rodgers: Countdown to Doomsday (cib) - $9.99
Space Harrier (SMS, box) - $1.99
Fantasy Zone (SMS, loose - $2.99
Hang On/Astro Warrior (SMS, loose) - $2.99

A few decent deals, and a few games I just wanted. Risky Woods is surprisingly cool. I picked up he box the last few times I went to Game Traders but didn't get it. I'm glad I finally did. I've wanted Fantasy one for a while. I don't like buying loose SMS & Genny games, but I'm glad I picked it up. Very fun.

What an overpriced day at the flea market. The most annoying thing about it was that there were 7 different vendors with at least one NES for sale. Not one of them was under $25 and none of them would budge on the price...

Games weren't cheap either, I only picked up rare titles that I didn't already own, although I just found out that The Guardian Legend isn't rare at all :/. Oh well, first time I've seen it in the wild, so I didn't hesitate. The three games I picked up were:

http://img272.imageshack.us/img272/2120/im0003930nl.th.jpg (http://img272.imageshack.us/my.php?image=im0003930nl.jpg)

The Guardian Legend (w/ sleeve and... woo hoo, Mario Sticker!): $5
Chameleon Twist 2 (N64): $5
Raiden Trad (Genesis, complete and in nice shape except for that nick on the cart label ): $4

I blame the bad weather on the lack of variety. The rain has been on and off all morning, discouraging the out door vendors from setting up their booths.

EDIT: I just realised after adding these to my inventroy that I'm now at 600 unique video game titles... yikes.

oh i love the boot sales... i hit 3 today with limited cash, but still came back with a smile :)
PS1 games are appearing on nearly every stall as if they are worthless junk nowadays and being sold at 50p a piece... Needless to say, they get snagged by me :P

After haggling with one seller, getting Alex Kidd for MD (Not pictured) for 50p, i then went onto the next stall to see Resi Evil 4 (GC) and asked how much it was... £10...
Then to hear in the background, the previous seller said to her friend "He runs a gameshop doesnt he!?"
I turned my head and winked at them ;)
Funny moment for me i guess...

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v366/cauterize4/ps14th.jpg

50p, 50p, 50p.... Yay for Resi Di cut, Sil Hil, DSF & Crash Bash!! :)

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v366/cauterize4/dcgames4th.jpg

It was in an issue of T&T. I think it had some kind of card-game feature...

Anyways, I hit a flea market with a frugal muse store next to it (gawd, the thing must have had at least three full rows of PS2-to-NES game); heres what I got:

> Coleco Quiz Wiz (works; Complete with box [has many bulges; won't shut correctly w/o a little "adhesive reinforcement"], crumpled advertisement, "editorial correction" paper(?), Quiz book #1 (1001 questions) complete w/ buldging box, book and cart, and book #20 (Sherlock Holmes and other Famous Mysteries)- $3 :D

> Game Informer issue #154- $.95

While I was in Meijer doing some groccery shopping I found these:

Super Mario World: SMA2 Nintendo Player's Guide $2
SMA4: Super Mario Bros. 3 Nintendo Player's Guide $2

My Mario Mania guide I got back in '91 is pretty messed up and my SMB3 NPG from '90 is also missing quite a few pages. Take that, $14.99 prices!!

This is definately my find of the YEAR.

Well it's a long story...

I got a Sega Astro City 29 in wonderful condition for a mere $23.00 USD.

A friend of me linked me to the cabinet on Craig's List in my area.(Huge thanks to my homie Ace R. since he made all this possible).

Sure enough I emailed the seller and called them up. They just wanted to get rid of it. To make sure it wasn't a typo I asked again about the price, they said "$20."

So I go over there to inspect the cabinet. It's in beautiful condition. The buttons didn't work but that's because the wiring became unplugged, easy fix. And the coin door was missing(easily replaceable). Street Fighter II: World Warrior was already in the machine, and I didn't hesitate to buy it.

Turns out it was a lady and her son that just wanted to get rid of it. It was given to them by their neighbor awhile ago. It's an Astro City 29 cabinet with a Blast City panel. Pretty much brand new Sanwa buttons/stick. No burn in on the monitor at all. No signs of wear on the speakers. The lady told me that her son was going to keep the money from the sales, so when I offerred him $23 bucks his face lit up with the biggest smile his fat face could muster... he gladly accepted since he only wanted $20. Badabing badaboom. Oh yea it looks like this:

http://static.flickr.com/59/160930840_49baf7cda9_o.jpg

I have 2 arcade cabinets now.

This one and a dedicated Tekken Tag Tournament machine. Now I only need 1 more cabinet(Sega New Versus City) to go so I can complete my 'ideal' collection.

Lucky I got the manual with it then. I looked through it and it seems to be a PDA type thing with some games you can play. Also you can been messages and stuff to friends. Kind of a neat idea, but I doubt many kids have the attention span to read through this thick manual.

Time to take your DS lite to EBGames (or gamestop) And show everyone, if you haven't already. :)

As for my finds, nothing, but that's alright with me, i don't need anything more just yet, I have to save up for some arcade cabs..

Shame it's such a bad game really. But the box set is v. cool. I don't know exactly how rare or not it is, but it's the only one I've ever seen, so I am guessing not common at least!
