Oh the joy of Boot Sales in the UK ;) Congrats James, youve got soem awesome stuff, and you sure as hell dont see CD32s often in the wild... I Never have!
Nah, flea market actually, I haven't been to a car boot all summer!
This was the second time I saw a CD32 in the wild... in about 5 years!
And the one I saw 5 years ago was £15, with no leads or nothing, so when I saw this one, for next to nothing, I was pleasantly surprised LOL

Been a while, but this past 4th of July weekend, the girlfriend and I stayed at our house up in maine. Well, on the way home, the girlfriend brought up the idea of game hunting since we had a good amount of cash left over from what we set aside. This was a rare event within itself, because she never likes accompanying me when game hunting, let alone suggesting it. We visited all the gamestop's and Eb's, but nothing worth buying since they are wiping ps1 and n64 out. Well, we took the wrong turn somewhere, and ended up going the long way home and ended up finding this mom & pop type store that had a pretty good selection. Alot of the stuff was overpriced, but I was able to talk down to about a buck more then he paid, or at least thats what he told me, so this is what I ended up getting this trip, but it will not be the last.

These are highlights from the last couple of weeks. I have bought a lot of stuff on the forums lately, but I put most of it away without taking pics. Most of this stuff came from thrifts:
http://jibbajaba.com/mameleague/images/Finds_070806/1.jpg
Castle of Dr. Brain looks like a really neat Sierra adventure game. And it is completely complete. That Battletech game doesn't really look like something I am into, but I am a sucker for complete DOS games, and it is an Infocom title.
http://jibbajaba.com/mameleague/images/Finds_070806/2.jpg
Traded DP user "Shellac98", who lives in the same town that I do, for these games. Not really into that tactics game, but I had been on the lookout for Choro-Q and Ico.
http://jibbajaba.com/mameleague/images/Finds_070806/3.jpg
$5 is a bit high for a Genny game, but it is complete and minty, and my copy is a former rental, so this will replace it. The Sega book is very awesome. I always find cool video game books at this one place.
http://jibbajaba.com/mameleague/images/Finds_070806/4.jpg
Wrecking Crew is one of the few black label games that I still needed. And I'm pretty chuffed about the case, since I didn't have one.
http://jibbajaba.com/mameleague/images/Finds_070806/5.jpg
Hapy to have a legitimate copy of Battlefield 1942 so that I can play it online. Jurassic Park was kind of meh, but for a buck fiddy, what the hell.
http://jibbajaba.com/mameleague/images/Finds_070806/6.jpg
DP user leorange found this a couple of weeks ago. I tried to buy it off him, but he wanted to eBay it, I guess thinking it was worth some dough, maybe because it's sealed. A lot of Apple II games are worth some serious scratch, but this isn't one of them. I won it for the opening bid. It's my favorite A2 game though and I didn't own a copy. I think I'll leave this sealed for awhile and just keep playing my copied disk of the game.
http://jibbajaba.com/mameleague/images/Finds_070806/7.jpg
These came from two different people, one on AA and one here. I don't remember the prices for these games, but they were pretty damned cheap. Nothing over 3-4 bucks, and it fills holes in my collection. Star Raiders is sealed, but I might open it because the shrinkwrap is starting to constrict around the box and distort it.
http://jibbajaba.com/mameleague/images/Finds_070806/8.jpg
The second greatest Apple II computer, the //c plus. I already have one, but these can get pricey, and this one looks nicer than mine. The disk holder is full of disks but they are all blank except for a golf game. I'm happy just to get the Apple disk sleeves.
http://jibbajaba.com/mameleague/images/Finds_070806/9.jpg
Funny thing about this stuff. It all came from the same thrift store in a mountain town far from here. I went once last summer, and passed on the DOS game and the NES game. Went back this last week, and they were still there. This time I caved. I think thats a nicer copy of Ultimate Stuntman than the one I have, and I don't know what I was thinking passing on that Sierra game last time.
http://jibbajaba.com/mameleague/images/Finds_070806/10.jpg
I didn't have an Atari stick with the gold colored ring around the base of the stick. This one has a nice springy feel to it which I like (but it is not one of the original spring-loaded sticks, I opened it up and checked). I don't need another driving paddle or SNES controller, so they go in the trade box.

Went by a few shops today and found some great deals, quite satisfied. :)
http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c196/cyberfluxor/IM001698.jpg
Lets start with accessories:
Sega Dreamcast Fighing Rod $2 :)
Namco Lightgun for PS $5
Namco PS arcade stick $2 @_@
Onto games:
N64:
Bust-A-Move 2 Arcade Edition (L - $3)
Aerofighters Assault (L - $2)
Mario Party 3 (L - $5) ***
SNES:
Samurai Shodown (L - $1) ***
Art of Fighting (L - $1)
Gameboy:
WildSnake (L w/case - $2)
Gamegear:
TaleSpin (Only w/out case)
Poker Face Paul's Blackjack
Arcade Classics :D
Tom and Jerry the Movie
Wheel of Fortune
->GG games $2 each
***
-> I traded those 2 games in at another place because I already own them and got Thunder Force V Perfect System for $1. It was priced at $15, so $14 off from spending $6 on the other games isn't a bad price assuming I got it for $7 total. :) Ultimately everyone wins. I know I can get more for MP3 on eBay, but screw it. I love trading with the store owner, he's freaking cool and hooks me up with freebies like the 2 boxes + manuals of Fatal Fury: First Contact (NGPC), Samurai Shodown 2 (NGPC), and the SNES cartridge storage unit. I got my Pocket Color from him and he knows I'm going for complete NGPC games so the cases and manuals set me up to get the games complete upon purchasing the carts. :)
http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c196/cyberfluxor/IM001699.jpg
Now about this... I can explain. Recall the conversations about those DOS bawx systems, well I picked these 2 up for $5 total at the thrift store to add some zest to the operations. Sure, you can download most of those free online or pirate them from torrents, IRC, Newsgroups, P2P networks, ect. but to have the physical copy with manuals and all, well it's great. I did BASIC back in the 90's while in middle school, and went though the JAVA, C/CPP, and X/HTML crap during high school, with a side of stuff I shouldn't have done (but lets not go there :)). But anyways, I'm happy to have the goodies here and knowing there's just a tad bit more to do.

I went to the Hawthorne store yesterday, but I visit the Gresham store about once a month, and I don't remember the last time I left the place empty-handed. Best find I ever made there was a loose Earthbound for $4 about two years ago. :D

Well my wife got a part-time job at a local goodwill last week and here's the story:
Yesterday just after she got done for the day she noticed a bin out back, with an N64 and a PS1 system in them.
I was there so she immeidiettly asked if they could be priced and put on the shelf. Thde manager said that they were going to be thrown in the trash. So my wife asked if she could just put a cheap price on them so I could purchase them. (Store policy dictates that emplorees CAN-NOT take anything home that is going to be THROWN AWAY) So she puts 1.99 on them in which I actually pay 1.33 per system (After a 30% employee discount :P )
So I get them home and clean the hell out of them and they BOTH work. :eek 2: here's what I got for $2.66
PS system
3 PS rf cables and 1 power supply cord (Weird)
1 PS controller
3 Memory cards (Weird)
N64 system
N64 power supply
2 official nintendo controllers (Both work)
And I open up the ram slot and it has an expantion pack in it.30 dollar value when I bought mine...Alone
not bat for $2.66 and being in the right place at the right time.
Also picked up complete final fantasy IIV for 2 bucks
Happy day

And listed are:
SNES:
Legend (L)
Secret of Evermore (L)
Metal Warriors (L)
PS:
Saga Frontier II (C)
Neo Geo Pocket Color:
Card Fighters Clash (C)
Atari 5200:
Dig Dug (L)
Not too shabby. :)

Hit up the flea market today, and went back to the people who had a load of games to sell. So from them, I bought a bunch of SNES games for a total of $32.
Brain Lord
Urban Strike
Jungle Strike
Desert Strike
MLBPA Baseball
Super Tennis
Jurassic Park
And then, from a more generous person, who sold games at a reasonable price ($1 per game), I snatched up Super Bases Loaded & NCAA Basketball..
All games were cart only. However, I do question some of the prices for games. Under this glass case, they had games that were "collector's items" or whatever. Sorry, but no way in hell is TMNT IV: Turtles in Time worth $20.

Normally I just buy import US/Japanese stuff but as I was visiting friends over the weekend, we got to check out some of the shops and boot sales about. They got stacks of things I'm not really into, such as Megadrive game, though someone did sell a 6 switch woody for a tenner with some boxed games.
I myself got the below for a total of 62 GBP from various places, which isn't too bad as everything is complete and in good condition... especially the Castlevania and NES convertor.

For $20, from a friend of mine who found his old NES games...
Adventures in the Magic Kingdom
PinBot
Dig Dug II
Thundercade
Mach Rider
Tiny Toon Adentures 2
Tetris
A decent deal. A couple of them have a little bit of label peel from shoving them back into the dust sleeve, but nothing major.

And why was i so pissed off!?
Well i got to the second car boot sale i visit (one that a few of these games were from) and i picked up a chipped PS2 for £15
Needless to say i got home and it wasnt powering up, i opened it up and the cable atachign the front buttons to the motherboard was unattached... i reattached it and it powered on fine...
However the disc drive sounded knackered and wouldnt read any games...
obviously i wanted a chipped PS2 so i decided i would take out my CD Drive from my existing PS2 and place it in the chipped one...
Halfway thru this i accidentaly touched the bottom of the circuit board while it was unplugged and there was still charge in it slightly electrocuting myself (Not the first time... the Sega Saturn chipping incident was a good one too ;))
So then the existing drive in the chipped machine Didnt work... i put it down to the fact that they are different models (one beign a 30003 R or something and the other being a 39003)
Anyways i decided to admit defeat to the ps2 i bought chipped and accept it wasnt going to work...
So i started to put back together my existing PS2
I got to the tricky part which is putting the Ribbon cable for laser in and attaching it back to the motherboard...
...only to find...
the holder for the ribbon cable snaps off completely...
Busted! I cant reattach it as i cant seem to get into it :(
But in all fairness, that PS2 was on its way out anyways... i soley used it for the HDLoader, as the laser was dying slightly and i was planning on getting a new slimline one anyways... an excuse to buy one (got some spares to trade towards one anyways)
But still it was so annoying! At least the GC games cheered me up :)

I used to go to that boot sale too but last year I got very few finds. I think an SMS II with a few games for £5 was the highlight so I havn't been since.
I find boot sales held at firestations and schools, although smaller, tend to have more consoles and games etc. They are not as frequent but I don't have to get up at 5 in the morning to find anything at them either.

@_@ Did the Xbox360 come with it?! That's one hell of a deal!!
Okay... I did my last pawn shop run til next week and here's what I found:
http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c196/cyberfluxor/071006.jpg
NES:
Rambo
Flying Dragon: The Secret Scroll
Metal Gear
Battletank
Gotcha!
California Games
Double Dragon II
Beetlejuice
*All loose $1 each. Worst condition one is California Games, but I've been wanting to try the NES version for awhile. :)
SNES:
Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars (L - $5 :eek 2: )
Spider-Man X-Men Arcade's Revenge (L - $3)
Didn't realize I already had the Arcade Revenge so I'll be reselling it later this week, and will most likely lose $1 from it. :( At least I think this one's in better shape than my other copy.
GEN:
Mega Bomberman (L - $2 :eek 2: )
X-Men 2 Clone Wars (L - $2)
And on the right is a very nice Iomega 250 internal IDE drive. I'm going to place it in my DOSbawx and put a disc in there for portable storage of ROMs because I have a few buds with these drives as well and that way we can fight each others high scores. :) Of course that doesn't replace my fun lil carts and real gameplay but it adds some excitement. The drive was obviously $5. They have 2 more and if anyone wants 1 or 2 gimme a PM and I'll charge $5 + shipping exact. :)

All are complete, blah blah blah. Cool beans.
The Saturn system came with a very needed memory card for saving the many games I now have and is going to be modified to play imports. It's AVI jacks make it a great buy in addition because I've been too lame to upgrade my current RTF Saturn system.
Also just won a complete PAL Darius II game on-line as a heads up so I don't have to post it later. Auction pic:

not a bad score at all! i've been perusing ebay for awhile looking a good cheap copy of intelligent qube. haven't found a cheap one, that's for sure... until i hit the thrift today :)
yourself fitness came from another thrift... a lone xbox game, it was open but looks brand new, even has little flyers for prevention magazine and shit like that.
my friend also found a bunch of coleco and atari xe carts for me, along with a handful of controllers and stuff at a garage sale for $15... which i need to sort out yet... i'll have a pic of that tomorrow.

my friend snagged me all this nonsense at a garage sale for $15. really a worthwhile find if you just count the fact that there's a frogger 2 threeedeep in there. anyway... 20 games (16 coleco, 4 atari xe), manuals for most of the games, along with a few overlays, registration cards, a coleco system manual, an atari system cover, a few switchboxes, and the handful of controllers... i think the paddles make this a worthwhile find too :)
anyway, here's a hi res photo if you want to read what the titles are: http://64.159.77.51/~helmet/perkar/finds/060711-2hires.jpg
my friend gets a big thumbs up for finding this one for me. always good to have more than one pair of eyes around town...
