Elite Beat Agents - I completed every song on every difficulty and attained the highest rank. This is certainly the best game I have played on the DS. I would recommend it to everyone.
Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Lots of fun. The courtroom scenes are appropriately fun and tense.
Castlevania III - It took me awhile to get into this game. At first, I just wasn't feeling it and was longing for the original Castlevania. By the end, I was totally digging the game though.

TLoZ: Minish Cap - Played it off and on for a year, finally finished it (and strangely missed 4 heart containers somehow... must be those damn kinstones). I could've lived without the kinstones and seashells, but still it was a great Zelda game.

Splinter Cell: Double Agent (Xbox 360)
I was suprised I didn't get the 'good ending,' as I had full trust from both organizations after completing the final objective. I'll search gamefaqs, see what I *really* needed, and maybe go back and try to get it.
The 'decision objectives' and mini games in this edition were a nice twist, making this my favourite so far in the series, although I've never tried Chaos Theory.

WarioWare Touched (DS)- polished off the last of the minigames. The novelty of microgames is quickly wearing thin, and playing the game gave me a headache sometimes. I'll pass on the next installment for sure, unless they radically change the formula.

Bully (PS2) - Despite the fact that I feel the GTA series has lost some of it's luster, Rockstar takes the basic premise of GTA and made a very very good adventure game out of it. Bully is the ONLY game I've played for the past week and a half, and I loved every minute of it. The dialogue was witty and sharp and the voice acting never become annoying or forced. I finished all the missions and ended with a completion percentage of about 70%, although I'm not sure how long that took me (15 hours maybe). Instant classic on the PS2.
No idea what to play now. I was thinking about Sly 2 or maybe giving my DS some love with Trauma Center.

#8 - Rogue Galaxy (PS2)
53 1/2 hours and I enjoyed almost every bit of it. The game is combat-intensive, so if you don't find yourself enjoying the combat after an hour or two, just quit and go play something else. While there are some decently designed dungeons around chapter 8, for the most part they're extremely bland and repetitious (I suspect one of the tricks they used to ensure as little loading as possible was to have the level cut up into pieces that they could jumble around and reuse wherever they wanted, much like tiles in a 2d game). Storyline isn't anything to really write home about either, but god DAMN if I didn't have fun playing the game.
I probably could have beat it in 10 hours less time and I could easily have spent another 20-30 without getting bored, but I forced myself to finish off the storyline so I could finally make some headway into my backlog.
Probably not going to play any more RPGs or long adventure games again for a few weeks/months. I need to play some blow-shit-up games.

Not a good game at all. I don't know if I'd even go so far as to call it average. I don't know if I even want to ramble on about on everything I hate about it, but I will say that it captures the look, feel, and presentation of the Pierce Brosnan Bond movies perfectly.

#10 - Gun (PS2)
God damn, what an awesome game. Its ONLY shortcoming is its length, which itself isn't that big of an issue because of the excellent pacing, quality writing, downright FANTASTIC voice acting, and just all encompassing badassity of the package.
Brand new on Xbox it'll run you $10 at Gamestop (I think it's $15 on PS2 and $20 on GC), or you can hunt around for the PC version on the cheap or 360 version for under $30, but you simply MUST play it.

Halo (Xbox) - I just played Halo for the first time about 3 weeks ago. As a matter of fact I had never played a game on the black box nor touched a controller until 3 weeks ago when I found one at the pawn shop (I'm just catching up on the Xbox goodies). Halo was great fun, but a pure shooter in every sense of the word. Reminded me of the feelings I got when I played Wolf3D or Doom for the first time. It's definaltly going to go down in the books as a classic. I purchased Halo 2 as well, but I think I'll wait a bit and try some of the other Xbox titles I got.

Buy it as soon as you can, you won't regret it. The Wild West theme along with some really good voice acting make a fantastic game. If you gaming skills are proficient you will want to play on the harder difficulties (the game is somewhat short and overall the game is relatively easy on normal difficulty). I haven't gone back to do the extra challenges like the bow and arrow hunting you can do, but I might just start over and play it again, something I rarely do with ANY game.

#11 - Ratchet : Deadlocked
Disappointing. Level design was lackluster, though weapon customization was pretty nice. Worst game yet in the series, which simply means it's merely decent and not awesome like the previous entries (especially Going Commando and Up Your Arsenal, both of which are fucking excellent).
Start to finish, completing all of the missions along the way, it took just a hair over 7 hours in case that plays a factor into anyone's buying/playing decision.

Just finished Record of Lodoss War for the Dreamcast. I'd never even heard of the game until last week, when I found a copy for sale. It's definitely one of the better Diablo-like hack-and-slash games I've played in a while, and one of the best I've played on a console (other than the Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance series). Now I need to get a copy of Shining Force Neo, which I guess was developed by the same studio.

Battlefield 2: Modern Combat (PS2): Well I needed a similar fix after playing so much Star Wars Battlefront, and this game filled that void (although the single-player campaign doesn't hold a candle to SW: Battlefront). I got stuck on one of the latter missions were you are playing as the NATO forces and you need to fly you helicopter low to avoid SAMs. After you are done flying you need to land at the designated area, but the damn game wouldn't move onto the ojective when I landed and the helo would eventually blow up from the rotors smashing into the ground. Mission over at least 20 times, I just couldn't figure it out. Popped it in last night and on the first try I set the helicopter down and it worked! WTF! So obviously the game is glitchy and it locked up on me a few times, but there were some cool missions to accomplish. Unfortunatly, I don't have a network adapter so I won't be playing this online, which is really were it is meant to be played. I give it a 6/10.

Really? I picked it up a couple weeks ago at Best Buy for 10$ It was advertised for 5$ last week at Circuit City.
As for BF2: MC, the game is primarily a multiplayer game I think. Single player is ho-hum at best.
As for me, I beat MGS2 finally. A thorough disappointment IMO. It was like they wanted to make MGS1 suck, it just didn't pull you in like MGS1. The characters were just stupid. Roller blading bomber, vampires, invincible bitch with purple hair, etc, it didn't have the same feel as MGS1 where the characters were simply made to be legendary. What's more, I'm sick of looking at Raiden's ass!!!

You know, I don't think I've actually *beaten* much of anything this year. Since I've been student teaching, my free time's been kind of scarce. However, since that's done this week, I've got a summer full of job searching (and not much else) along with a backlog of games to catch up on.
I decided to take a run at the Zelda series. I've played through 1 and 2 plenty of times, but I never did finish Ocarina or Majora's Mask. Plus, I've got Wind Waker here untouched since... I'm not sure when... I figure once I work through those I'll go buy Twilight Princess for the Cube.
So then, the point of this all -- this weekend, I sat down for a few hours and rolled through the Legend of Zelda for the umpteenth time. Good times, but I was mildly surprised that I got lost in the final dungeon. I guess it had been too long. Anyway, one down, six to go. (And for my intents and purposes, I'm not including Four Swords, Link's Awakening, etc.)

Pretty fun game, though I'd strongly recommend the PC version if you have the choice. Medal of Honor: Underground (PSX)- Well, it was exactly as I suspected it would be, but that certainly isn't a bad thing. Sound was top notch again and really compliments the game as a whole. I said to hell with it for that very last mission though. The one where there are dogs running around with machine guns and you play as Jimmy from the first MOH. I would much rather have blasted some more Nazis. It didn't take me too long to play through (6-7 hours), and I'll hang onto it in case I feel like playing it again someday. Now I'm off to start Frontline on the PS2. Overall I would rate the game a 8/10.
