The Warriors (Xbox) - Thought it was great. Really got into it.
Gears of War (360) - Just on casual. I do everything on normal difficulty, but I liked this enough that I'll probably replay on a higher setting.
Rocket Slime (DS) - Very good game, but too easy. You almost have to try not to beat it. The tank battles especially. Even when the other guy outguns you and breaks down your tank, you just keep on firing until you destroy his. Still, I love whimsical games that don't take themselves too seriously.
That's it. And with my attention span when it come to games, this may be my final post in this thread. :)

#13 - Crimson Sea (Xbox)
Third person action game. Controls are clunky (the targeting system is a complete mess), graphics are excellent, localization is awesomely bad and the level design is incredibly basic. If you don't mind your action games basic and repetitive, then you'll probably dig it. I've been uploading gameplay and cutscene videos to youtube since I noticed a distinct lack of 'em up there... guess I'll do the same for Crimson Sea 2, which is supposed to be better than this one.
...still, my hopes aren't that high for it, either. Not saying Crimson Sea was bad, it just wasn't that good, either.

I've played both and it is pretty bad, worse than Soul Calibur. As you may or may not know, there is only one attack button in Kabuki Warriors and no difficulty select that I know of. The biggest problem is that the computer just doesn't fight back very much.
The moves you do depend on what direction you are moving when you hit the attack button. You can beat the game by doing the same move (i.e. push A while going forward) over and over again on each opponent. The difficulty is somewhere between the "training" or "practice" mode of most fighting games in which a computer opponent moves a little bit and the "Very Easy" modes of Mortal Kombat for Super NES/Genesis.

Just beat Mercenaries. It was getting to be a chore near the end, especially the final mission which took a good 10 tries to finally complete it. Overall, if you liked driving around in the tank in Grand Theft Auto this game is for you. A bunch of cool military vehicles to blow shit up with and plenty of missions and military generals to capture. I heard a sequel was in the works for the PS3 but haven't kept up on it to see when it will be released.

#14 - Kya: Dark Lineage (PS2)
It took me about 13 hours or so total to complete the game, and I swear to god, if they'd spent a few more months on it then it could have been an absolute classic. As it is, the bugs, the downright abysmal camera, and the imprecise control really, really hurt the game.
4 hours into it I swore it off and put it back on the shelf, never planning on playing it again. I only picked it up again because of my compulsion to beat games :( There was a lot to like about it, but the bugs/control/camera really ruin it.
Next up is to start Interstate '82 :)
After all these years, Final Fantasy I (with the help of the gameboy cart)!

Most Recently Beaten:
Pokemon Pearl (DS) - Beaten in the sense that I've beaten the Elite Four; still training Pokemon and fighting in the Battle Tower.
Castlevania (NES) - Nothing much since the game is short, but technically I did recently beat it.
Super Castlevania IV (SNES) - Same as Castlevania, I just love running through these games.
Working On:
Touch the Dead (DS)
Final Fantasy III (DS)
Waiting On:
SNK vs. Capcom Card Fighters DS (DS) glitch to be fixed so I can send off my cartridge; until then I'm not going to progress anymore.

Just beat everything there is to do on Star Wars Battlefront 2. The "Rise of the Empire" had some pretty epic battles, but the real enjoyment was in the Galatic Conquest again. If they make a third installment, they need to improve on the space battles. It's amazing, but Tie Fighter is still the best Star Wars dogfighting I have ever played, and was constantly reminiscing about some of the memorable battles while playing Battlefront.

4. Scooby Doo: Unmasked - Why was I playing it? That I can't answer. It's not bad as far as an easy platformer goes, but Killer 7 had a more cohesive plot than this thing. I have no idea what I just helped Mystrey Inc accomplish.
3. Warriors
2. Gears of War

Shit, I haven't updated since Kya: Dark Lineage?
15. 2007-05-27: Jak & Daxter (PS2) - Enjoyable platformer, though pretty lacking in originality. Short, but fun. Ending was awful and the secret ending was especially awful (I've recorded a video of the bonus ending, uploaded it to youtube, and most people seem to think that it's the normal ending...heh)
16. 2007-06-05: Jak II (PS2) - Lots of promise pissed away by shitty world design, lacking mission design, and exceptionally bad writing. Really difficult for all the wrong reasons and not a whole hell of a lot of fun.
17. 2007-06-12: Ys III - Wanders From Ys (Genesis) - The game revolves around grinding like hell in small areas far too much. When you trim that out of the equasion (by using the fastforard/unthrottle button of an emulator or a Game Genie) then the game winds up being around an hour long. Not that bad of a game with the fat trimmed out, but if you're actually trying to play it on the original hardware w/o cheating then it's tedious as fuck.
18. 2007-06-18: Jak 3 (PS2) - It doesn't totally make up for Jak II and it's not perfect, but so much of what went wrong in Jak II went right in Jak 3. Overall a really fun game and a bit better than the first Ratchet & Clank (its closest comparison).
19. 2007-06-19: Halo 2 (Xbox) - Surprisingly generic and average. A few high points (jumping onto the scarab as Spartan-117 rocked), a couple of really snazzy cinemas, and some neato music (yea, i liked the Halo 2 music. sue me), but the level/mission designs were extremely repetitive and boring. If you thought The Library in Halo was repetitive, you haven't seen anything yet. Of the first person shooters I've played (and beaten) on Xbox, I'd probably rate this the lowest.

#20 - Jak X: Combat Racing (PS2)
Surprisingly enjoyable game, though the last quarter feels a bit repetitive. By that point you've seen every segment of every course multiple times, you know what game modes you hate (Rush Hour, Capture The Orb), and you just want it to be over with. Ended up skipping out on a chunk of the last circuit and finishing the game off with 96% in 9 hours and 44 minutes.
Watch out for the non-GH version! It's buggy as hell, including a particularly nasty autosave bug that could corrupt your save data (causing you to restart from scratch) or corrupt your memory card (fucking you). I hear it also doesn't work with slim PS2s, so if you're in that camp then you pretty much need the GH version anyway.
Fun stuff all the same! Looking forward to playing online sometime.

Of course I have the stand-bys that I can beat every time (or almost every time), and games that I've cheated on - game genie, emulation tricks - but I suppose this is the only game I've finished this year where it was both new AND I didn't cheat. No cheat guide/walkthrough either.

Rogue Galaxy (PS2)
I finally finished the game after a hiatus of 3 months. Overall, I'd say Rogue Galaxy was a slight disappointment seeing as it was the next game Level 5 made after the masterpiece that was DQ8. Terrible story (mainly the dialog was aimed at 13 year old kids), and plently of the one thing I hate in RPG's...random battles. Overall grade: B-.

I recently rebeat TMNT: Fall of the Foot Clan and Super Mario Land on the original Gameboy, both of them within the past month. Sure, games I already beat don't count but I hadn't beaten either of them in 10-15 years. Super Mario Land was always in my collection so it is too bad I went so long without playing it. As for Fall of the Foot Clan, I reacquired it after having not played it in 15 years (my original cart was stolen).

07/04 #21 - Disaster Report (PS2) - Clunky ass engine and mind-numbingly dull localization aside, I thought the game was pretty freakin' neat. A survival horror game without the horror and with combat minimized to nearly nothing, the whole game revolves around puzzle solving (with multiple solutions) and exploration (with multiple paths). Pretty neat stuff if you can get by the audio/visual deficiencies.
07/09 #22 - Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance (Xbox) - Color me disappointed by this one. Played through it co-op with a buddy and the game is just amazingly brutal/unfair. Apparently you're expected to go through single player and THEN import your character in multiplayer or something. There are no provisions for grinding outside of exploiting an export/import character glitch around boss fights and boss fights are insanely hard unless you exploit it to grind. Meh. Double "meh" that you can't import your character into Dark Alliance II.
07/13 #23 - Kim Possible: What's the Switch? (PS2) - Totally took me by surprise. Really fun platformer/beat 'em up with slick toon shaded 3d graphics and 2d gameplay. The difficulty is (for the most part) fairly low, though there are some tricky platforming segments towards the end and getting all of the hidden items in the levels will put your skills to the test. Sadly, most people overlook it thinking that it's yet another crappy Disney game, but god damn did A2M do it right. Reminds me of the 16-bit Disney games, back when they were something to look forward to.

#24 - Rogue Trooper (PC)
Not a terribly long game (only a few hours on the initial playthrough), but it is a terrificly fun third person shooter with some really neat new gimmicks. I believe it's something like $20 new for Xbox/PS2 and you can play it on GameTap if you want to play the PC version (which I recommend as it's quite nice looking in high res and you don't have to worry about frame rate issues).

5. Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion - Unlocked every achievement, just over 220 hours. Obviously, I enjoyed it, but I don't think I'll get Shivering Isles. My guy just breezes through everything, and there really isn't ,uch consequence to anything you do. Great game anyway. (I think this should count as 3 games:) )

6. Psychonauts. Thought it was great. Didn't enjoy the Meat Circus very much because I forgot about the glide control that's necessary to beat it. I kept missing this one jump and almost reverted back to my childhood "This game cheats!" mode. I think I liked the Paranoid Milkman level best. I liked how the action wasn't rushed, but there was never any lull. Definitely one of the best games of the past generation, and the visuals hold up very well.

Indigo Prophecy - Easily in the top five PS2 games that I've ever played. The story was fantastic, and the way you controlled all the major protagonists was pure genius (you get to play the killer and the police chasing after him). Some of the controls were a little quirky, but nothing that the game as a whole doesn't overcome. One of those games that force you to tell yourself to turn off for a while, otherwise you could play it beginning to end in one sitting.

As far as Baldur's Gate goes, I really enjoyed it. I played through the game solo though, and by the time I beat it I was done playing dungeon crawler RPGs for a while. I have the sequel although I haven't even tried it yet.

Jet Li's Rise to Honor (PS2) - A fairly fun beat-em up where all you attacks are controlled with the right analog stick. The action is pretty decent and the controls work fairly well, but the counters can be abused pretty easily. The difficulty spikes during certain levels and remains incredibly easy in others. 6/10

Have you played Raw Danger yet?
Not yet :( I'll get around to it eventually though :)
07/15 #25 - Gundam 0079 Side Story (Dreamcast) - I used to consider this game a kick ass console mech sim, but it really has not aged well at all. The draw distance is awful and the controls are pretty meh. Squad command system was fairly innovative, but it doesn't work very well at all (and it's clunky as all get out).
07/25 #26 - Castlevania Symphony of the Night (PS1) - 10 years on and it's still an awesome as hell game. I'd completely forgotten what that end fight against Dracula was like (I remembered Shaft, but not Drac :( ). Great boss battles and overall just a joy to play through again.

#27 - Castlevania Legacy of Darkness (N64)
I liked it quite a bit. Fixed a lot of flaws from Castlevania 64 and the new quest is pretty solid. A few weak points (slowly leading Henry through the hedgemaze while milking the chainsaw dude for chicken legs was a bit tiresome), but the framerate was pretty solid, the control was good, and the level designs weren't bad at all. Dracula was a bitch and I didn't realize until after I beat the game that you can transform by pressing "L". Woops. Save point distribution was pretty nice over all, too.

I have a strong aim at beating games I own and nearly stop at buying video games. With that said I'm hoping to be posting quite often in here, and often with all the stuff I've got.
Some games I beat in '06:
Baku Baku (Saturn) - Easy and Normal
Castlevania: DoS (NDS) - Completed game, have do beat modes now
D (Saturn) - Did ending #2
Neo Contra (PS2) - Didn't unlock everything yet :-/
Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo (Saturn) - Unlocked everything :)
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 3: Mutant Nightmare (NDS) - Easy & Normal
And I believe that's it... See, I have a lot to beat this year around.
I once sat down for nearly 6 hours and unlocked everything in Puzzle Fighter on Saturn, and not 2 days later, my save battery died. I was in a bad mood for weeks.
Anyways, games I've beaten off the top of my head are Gunstar Heroes and Twilight Princess for Wii.

But number nine for 2007 is Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island.

I'm catching up to you on Guitar Hero II, lol. I've beaten it on Medium and Hard, and I just finished Last Child on Expert. WHats everybody's igh score for Strutter on Expert? I'm pulling in 190,000-ish. I'd give an exact score, but I'm away from my PS2.

#28 - Splinter Cell (Xbox)
Good god was that game difficult. The Gamecube/PS2 versions balanced out the difficulty a lot better...possibly a hair too easy, but they sure as hell weren't as frustrating as the Xbox version was in some points. Some of those missions were absolutely brutal (meat factory, I'm looking at you). Still an excellent game that I loved playing through, just be aware that there's a fair amount of challenge to be had in it.
