Aannnnnnnnd as much as I love R&C this is never a good thing to ship a game with a flaw that forces to delete stuff on your HD to get it to work...

Because it makes no attempt to be great, it is therefore extremely great.

Thanks for the news on the bug. Just picked up the game at Gamestop and will be playing it some this evening.
I did notice from the demo that it was too easy as well. That's what the gamespot review claims. It deserves a 9 just for looking good...
I wonder what score Ratchet and Clank will receive on the Crate Review System. Screen shots:
crate screen shot 1
crate screen shot 2
That was AWESOME.

Why do none of those screenshots have any screen display stuff like energy bars or lives ect....
Do R&C games have no HUD on screen as those pics just look like fmv to me.
So by your standards, a painting in a museum deserves a 9 from a game reviewer, even though it isnt even a game? I mean, so what if you can't even play it, "it deserves a 9 just for looking good..."
I think I'm going to start a company that releases discs that are just slide shows of shots of great graphics. I'm not trying to make any money. I just want 9's from Trebuken.
Bacon, Bacon, Bacon, IT'S BACON!!!!
Oh I know that there are bugs in most every game, and that some are mighty dehibilitating. Hell I played alot of Halo 2 online when that came out... let me tell you about them bugs...
But thats besides the point. This bug is bad enough to not let you play the game at all and I can guarantee you that most people arn't going to figure out a way past it, especially if they don't have much of anything on their HD's but their game saves. It's only compounded by the fact that they arn't saying that magical range of how much data on your HD thats being used to glitch this out. That tells me that its a very big range. Really now, are there that many download games on the PSN? That many PS3 demos in the store to spike your 20 or even 60/80 gig to really fill that HD?

The game does have a HUD, but it only shows up when you pick up stuff and get hit etc. You can see it in a gameplay movie here:

Ahaa then that changes things then, i always get suspicious when i see supposed screenshots and theres no on screen stuff.
Some games still uses FMV. If i dont completely remember wrong, Medal of Honor Airborne was the last game that i've played that had FMV (atleast i think it had it). I like FMV since its so much more detailed than in-engine videos. In-engine videos is only comming better and better tho, but its still a way to go to match true FMV quality![]()
Seems you took me a little too seriously. I appreciate my statement was a little silly, but your '..can't even play it...' is ridiculous given the taht i have been playing it without any hint of an issue for a couple of hours now and the ridiculous ease with which the 'glitch' if it can be called such, can be eliminated.
My statement generally derives from there finally being something play worthy on the PS3 (though I did enjoy Heavenly Sword just because it looked good too...).
Please make your reponses constructive rather than argumentative, I am resonable in regards to my own flippant remarks.
The one major problem with alot of current era 3D platformers is that they are too easy. Remember when you got Super Mario World for the SNES, and literally played it for months and months? It wasn't like Super Mario World was super hard, but it had such intricate play mechanics, that it kept you playing forever. These modern 3D platformers, seem like just go thru the worlds, get to the boss, repeat, repeat. They don't seem to have that intricacy. I think it has to do with moving things to 3D. You can't have the level of pinpoint control when things are in 3D.
I'm still going to get this puppy anyways.
The question is if the bug will appear if you have hardly anything or nothing on your PS3 HDDThere is no denying that a bug that might prevent you from starting the game is pretty nasty, but in this case the fix is easy. True as you say, some people wont figure out how to get past it since the solution isnt exactly logical, but if they dont get the game to work they will (atleast i hope for their sake hehe
) return it to the store. Hopefully the store employees are aware of it and will explain it. If not, i guess its -1 sale of Insomniac, atleast for that time.
The game is just out so it might be too early to tell how big of precentage that has/will experienced this bug, but i dont think it will that big of a prencetage. Since the solution is easy i wouldnt say its a negative thing in that way (im not saying that you're saying its a negative thing, i'm talking in general).
