Worth asking, will the RetroGEN mobile have all 6 buttons? If so it WILL need the "mode" button installed as some games are unplayable otherwise. It's a fairly small list but they have issues with the 6-button controllers.

Decap Attack is also reported to not work with the Nomad even with the mode button.

I hope it will be reasonable on batteries.

I came here and just presented (a 2nd presentation tomorrow morning). I did release the final box art which I'll post in a second.

I do know the man who posted on AtariAge and he'll be one of the e-vendors who will be taking online preorders.

That handheld is not finalized, so I'll take a look at this. I honestly had no idea - it's great that you brought it to my attention!

Can you or anyone else provide me an entire list?

I don't know if there is a fully-tested "entire list" but these seem to be the big problem games-

    Ms. Pac Man
    Beast Wrestler
    Sunset Riders
    Golden Axe 2
    Exile
    John Madden Football
    Forgotten Worlds

Decap Attack's issue seems to be with reading the Nomad's control input.

One of those 2 thin buttons is probably the mode button.

Looking at that picture, I do have to hope the screen on the handheld will be larger in the final release. I can't tell how big that is, without knowing if the cartridge is actually plugged in or of that's photoshopped. Seems a bit small.

The 6 buttons could also stand to be arranged a little more like the ones on the Genesis controller. Those are a bit angled.

And I'm guessing the cartridge slots on both will only take US/Euro-type games? The angles of the console's cart slot seem to indicate that.

I think the ability to play Genesis games on the go without relying on the Nomad or emulation is well worth the incompatability of a few choice games.

I'd also like to suggest making actual RF wireless controllers that will work with the NES, SNES and Genesis. The ones made back when are IR only, and IR only works if you have the receiver on top of the TV. Forget my setup where the consoles are all off to the side.

Messiah tried to make wireless NES controllers, but sold them for $40 a pair and lacked a receiver. They were made to work with that godawful NEX that had its own receiver built-in. No surprises why the company vanished. Selling what amounted to a Yobo chip in a prettier case.

Actually, the difference between the old wireless controllers and the ones made by Messiah are the fact that it was like a TV remote. It had a limited range, and it had to be directly in front of the console.

I think the FC Mobile II is going to be out sometime this week and the Genesis mobile will be out next month.

I wonder how long it will take before this system reaches eBay stores.

To be fair to my retailing and e-commerce clients, preorders will wait until I have an actual arrival date. The factory has confirmed that the first batch is ready for shipment but the harbor has not yet cleared the contents.

I'm aware of the controllers made by Messiah, a friend of mine actually owns a pair. They're great controllers but I would never buy one for myself considering the high price point and lack of compatibility outside of their own system.

RF ain't cheap though and while the lot of you are diehard classic gamers, I have to cater to the more casual crowd, my bosses are not going to spend too much money in development because our retro gaming section is still very small. As a matter of fact, I'm a one man department.

I hope none of you have searched for the Hyperkin 8bit controller because it is downright hideous. I see no real reason to recreate the rectangle original either since those are so widely available. Right now I'm debating a whole new ergonomic oversized design for older gamers, or the original v2.0 dogbone controller.

Some feedback on your ideal NES controllers would be appreciated. I spoke to a few DP members at MGC and I thank them for their insights.
