I'll second that by saying holy shit to finding Bonk 3 with lots of other harder to find TG16 games cheap, find of the year contender stuff here!

Wow, I thought it was only in more 'rural' areas that there were finds like that to be had! Then again, I don't know a lot about SoCal.

-Hexen is brand new, sealed. Not amazing, but still neat. The Half Price Books I got it at actually had two copies of that, and like 5 copies of Doom for Saturn. Somebody must've robbed the ID Software warehouse!
I would like a copy of Doom if you want to pick one up. Depending on the price of course(I plan on opening it eventually, but would like a great condition copy).

Since I had the camera out I snapped a pic of stuff from thrifts today. I splurged on the Pac-Man game which was $8. The stuff on the right side was all free off CL. I thought the GC Demo DVD would be cool to have, are they worth anything? What about the PS2 Black Demo and Xbox MetaArms demo? Doubt it, but thought I'd check before I chuck them in the random crap box.

Well, from my personal experience, there's not a whole lot of good ones in there. Too many sports titles, for one thing. If you're looking for better titles, track down Pick Axe Pete, Attack of the Timelord, and Killer Bees (that's going to be a hard one to find).
Today I bought a Ceiva digital picture frame for $9.59 (it's got a built-in modem so you can update pics remotely), a boxed and complete copy of Massive Assault for OS X for $3.93 (which apparently the thrift store person never put in my bag, so I'm out four bucks) and an odd black and white educational handheld/quiz device called Brainchild. It's an oversized handheld from 1994 with an enormous screen for the time period. It came with 27 cartridges, and a Donkey Kong Land 2 Gameboy cart (?). $12.51 for it all. Later, at a Movie Trading Company store, I bought Kool-Aid Man and Tanks But No Tanks (an R6) for the Atari 2600, loose, for $1.99 each.
By the way Cornelius, congratulations on that Pac-Man handheld! I love collecting things like that. It's been a whole lot of my focus when I go thrifting nowadays. I'm building up a nice little collection of old LED handhelds now.

SNES Final Fantasy III Complete Box/Inst./Cardboard - $23
SNES Illusion of Gaia Complete Box/Inst. - $5
SNES Soul Blazer, Cart only - $13
All from the same place
They also had a complete boxed Super Metroid for $20, but I already have it complete in box.
Loose they had insane prices on Mario RPG, Earthbound. They also had mid-range prices on Secret of Evermore and Secret of Mana, I was relatively tempted to pick up another copy of Secret of Mana for the $25 that they had it at. I took what I wanted and left the rest for somebody else who might want them.

Great score, how much were they asking for Earthbound. It's $40-50 game, so it might have been reasonable.
Secret of Mana and Super Metroid will probably be gone with the day. When you find those games for sale around here, stores usually want $20-30 for Super Metroid and $40-50 for Secret of Mana, both cart only.

They were asking in the $50 range for Earthbound, same for Mario RPG. Which I am aware they are both well worth it, it's just a little out of my price range for duplicates. Apparently I just got there as they put them out, as said very tempted to go back for Secret of Mana, if not just to resell at a higher price, but the reality of that is that it's a cheap tactic for a few extra bucks.
I will be putting my loos copies of Illusion of Gaia and Final Fantasy III up at the store I work at.
I -just- noticed that you're in Winnipeg. Yeah, that would be the standard cost there, just as it generally is here (trust me I was floored to see them this cheap, one of the pawnshops here is STILL trying to sell Mega Man 7 for $70). Except I've been told by my boss (who owns a Cash Converters in Winnipeg) that there is a niche gaming store in Winnipeg, which we lack here.

Thanks. I've been getting a little more into the handhelds and tabletops, too. It is strange and different from my video game collecting, in that it is much more about collecting than playing. I guess I collect regular video games more than I play them also, so the difference is that I want to play all/most of the video games I get (no time), and I just don't care that much about playing the handhelds as much. Strangely, I've played every handheld if only just to test them, and the same can't be said of my other games. O_O
Congrats on the SMS lot Cornelius. A great deal and you're right, SMS is one system you don't see much on CL/Kijiji
I like the Tie Fighter CD find too. An awesome game that I'd love to find myself. I played that thing to death back in the day.
Thanks! I only had 3 or 4 of those SMS games, so nice to add to that collection, too bad Zillion II didn't have a manual. I was really lucky on that deal since he had a couple no-shows before me, then his email offering it too me slipped by without my noticing it for a couple days. By then, he'd had a couple more no-shows!
For Tie Fighter I already have a complete big box, but it is the floppy version, so it will be nice to have the more accessible CD-ROM.
A couple more nice pickups today. Was at a thrift and all I found was a perfect N64 controller for 2.50, which I'll take, but nothing to get excited about (I have a box of them that I should probably unload). Then as I was about to head for the door I saw one of the stockers digging CD cases out of his bin and caught 'Star Ocean' on one, so followed him to the CD stacks.
Final Fantasy Tactics (no manual) 2.40
MediEvil 2.40
Mortal Kombat Trilogy (GH) 2.80
Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee 2.80
Star Ocean: The Second Story (no manual) 3.80
I left FFVIII for 5 or 6.80. I see now I should have bought it to re-sell, but I had trouble selling one for that price in the past and didn't know it had gone up a bit. No big loss, though. Hopefully some other eBayer that doesn't know about games will think they've scored big and be disappointed. :evil laugh: I'm seeing more and more people with those barcode/pda scanners, and for some reason those things just piss me off. I kind of want one. Paradoxical, I know. I'd probably be too embarrassed to actually use one.
I also picked up a yellowed and a bit cracked SNES for $16 after tax at Goodwill (with hookups and 1 controller).

Today, I decided to make the Goodwill/Salvation Army/Thrift store circuit which I haven't done since November. Here's how it went:
Goodwill #1: \
Sports Talk Baseball (Complete) - 50 cents in REALLY nice shape
Sega Game Gear (missing battery covers) but with Out Run in the slot - $2
Half Price Books:
Sega Saturn lot of 3 sports games that I already have for $6 total, but the cases and manuals are a huge upgrade from my cracked ones! \
Gameboy lot - Star Wars, Pokemon Silver, Wario II, Bubble Bobble - $10 for the lot
Bob and Doug McKenzie "Great White North" LP - complete and in GREAT shape! $3
Thrift Store:
Only game item they had were the Gamecube Kongas for $3, but I passed on them.
Goodwill #2:
Playstation One - included all wires, no controller $5 - works perfect!
All in all, fun time had and a few neat things found!

Today I bought a 3Com Ergo Audrey. It was an internet device from 2000/01 that was designed to be a touchscreen websurfing and emailing device for the kitchen or family room. Hardware hackers embraced the device since it runs on a UNIX variant. I picked it up for $29.99, hoping to get a little bit of fun out of it and seeing what it can do with a firmware update.
Bought a beach ball sized Pac-Man plushie in a thrift, $1.98.
On my way home I found a flea market where I picked up Demolition Man, Stellar 7: Draxon's Revenge, and Dragon's Lair for the 3DO, and Gundam Side Story 0079 for the Dreamcast, $1 each. The Gundam game is in a Soul Calibur case, and pretty much all of the other Dreamcast games there were either empty cases or other junk CDs inside. I was very upset to find that the Grandia II case was empty. And while I was there, some little brat was wrestling the Madden CD out of it's 3DO case because the little animal just can't leave shit alone. I told him what it was, and if he didn't have the console for which it worked on he needed to put it down. Incidentally, I strongly believe that child abuse should not only be legal, it should be mandatory. :evil laugh:

Thanks for the tip. I don't know much about O2. I had the $50 for it, so I figured why not.

I made a stop at this Kmart kinda out of the way. They had a copy of Contact for the DS that was not marked with any sort of price tag. I took it to the various price-checker machines, but they were strangely gone. Luckily, a worker was nearby with a handheld scanner. He scanned the game, and it was apparently a clearance item that was never marked as such and never sold. The scanner spit out a clearance tag which he affixed to the cover. To my surprise, it said 35 cents! I probably shouldn't have, but I questioned the odd price. The worker glanced back at the scanner, and said that he made a typo when he put in the price. Another price was affixed at the corrected sum of $3.40.
35 cents would have been really cool, but I'm not complaining for getting it at three-something. :)
I also stopped into an old game store and found a sealed copy of Pinball of The Dead. It was on sale for $12, and I quickly accepted.
My little brother picked up a loose copy of R-Type DX for the GBC at the same place for $9.99. Not a bad day.

Flea Market..
I didn't expect it to be So cold and windy..The wind was killer just blowing me around,CD,Glasses flying off tables..Sadly lots of loose game CDs going to the trash..The Wind was like a punch in the face each time it hit, just aggravating..
Plenty of vendors spread out all over, good amount of games and systems but too high in prices..Nothing that stood out..Common dirty stuff..
Checking on Motorcycle Helmets for my Son..but the vendor was stored priced.
Lego.big box of misc parts...$100.00 Passed..
One vendor got insulted when he tried to tell me that a Sony PSP power supply was for a Nintendo NES System......(then went on embarrassed-pissed about how everyone goes to him for power supplies...........................oK..
He had one of those Power Joy TV controllers with games in it but the wires were ripped up..(junk)
Vendor who I have told off in the past,Same guy who is always in arguements,Getting told off about selling junk..: I hear shouting,He's yelling at a customer who tried to haggle his high-ridiculous prices.
The customer a Big Dude and his wife...The vendors telling him that "Everyone wants something for Free,Something cheap,I have better prices then the store..GO TO THE STORE THEN"......He was yelling this ovcer and over at this big dude who's telling him to calm down...The vendor would not stop..I laughed as I walked away..
As I was leaving I saw the both of them walking together to the security booth..Hmmmmmmm?
After all the searching I find these wires for $1.00
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v21/Chris1/MISC%20PICTURES%202/3ad9b682.jpg
Not Video Game but..
Before I left ran into the couple I know..They had this Thomas The Tank Engine Lionel Train set on the table for $40.00
Way high for me..Upon opening it up it looked good,My Son wanted a real train set and we both like Thomas and Lionel
As I was looking at it this old guy who I have seen buy up ventage stuff was basically climbing over me to get at it so instead of haggling I bought it.
It's missing a few odds and ends but works great...I have a Coca Cola Lionel train set that is missing the transformer and track clip..
Everytime I try to buy these parts at the Flea Market they are way overpriced.
The stuff in this set works for my set too so it works out ..I had never tested my engine until today.
As I said to my Dad..I don't usually look for train stuff

Call of Duty 4 and Dragon Quest IV guides from Gamestop for FREE. I've never had luck with penny guides at GS before but the two people working were super cool about it. Unfortunately I didn't find the GoW 2 LE, Fable 2 LE, or Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia guides. Ah well.

Once again, nothing of interest at the flea market... game wise, anyway.
DVDs:
The Devil's Rejects (two disc)
Bad Boys SE (one disc, new)
$5.
... I know, it's a Bruckheimer film. I should be ashamed. I needed to get a second DVD for the two for $5 deal and it was the only decent movie there, so.
CDs:
Genesis - Duke
The Who - Who's Better, Who's Best (Edit: Or not - this thing has a LOT of disc rot... blargh.)
Journey - Greatest Hits
Phil Collins - But Seriously
Radiohead - OK Computer
David Bowie - Bowie At The Beeb 3 CD boxset
All that for $10!
... yeah. :p

Picked up a few things today.
PC:
Police Quest collection series (CIB - $5)
Clive Barker's Jericho (new - $10)
Turning Point Fall of Liberty (new - $10)
Retro Gamer Mag issue 58
-> Panzer Dragoon Saga article to continue off issue 57's Panzer Dragoon stuff
Music:
The Spitfire Band - Flight III (vinyl $1)
-> Some cool contemporary arrangements from old swing + big band hits
It's actually been awhile since I saw Jericho in the stores. Seeing it for $10 sparked me to pick it up along with Turning Point, which I cannot recall seeing before. I almost picked up a used copy of GTA IV and Crysis for $5 each, but passed as I'm becomming less tempted to buy used PC games released more recently.

An ok day at the swap meet.
NES side loader with AC, RF, 2 controllers, SMB/DH, pinball, and a dust cover
$15
Ridge Racer 64 - $1
Clear green N64 controller
Clear purple N64 controller both with ok sticks
transfer pak
$3
And my fail of the day >_>
Red spray painted PS1
3rd party controller
$8
Ok, for some reason I thought that PS1s that were red are debug units, and nearly shitted myself.
After inspecting it closer, I realized it was red spray painted and I paid $8 for a beat to shit spray painted red PS1. And it's definitely not a debug because it wouldn't play a burned game. >_< So if anyone wants this thing, $8 plus shipping. It's awesome!

This controller came from fellow DP member phil_vr. Now I have a factory sealed black and blue one. I just need a factory sealed green one to complete the cycle.

I remember a year or so ago we were both looking for these damn things. I wasn't lucky enough to find them still sealed but got a couple of loose ones (one black, one blue) at a good price. How much you give for those?

I got that black one in a trade. The two blue ones I got for $40 and then I sold one of them for $30 buy it now. I should have listed it higher but I needed the money. I now have two factory sealed ones and four used ones.
