holy shit a wavebird brand new for 2.00, that is insane, i bet their are cases somewhere they are trying to get rid of in a kmart warehouse.
I found forty of'em last year at a local Wal-Mart on their clearance rack. This is a photo I took after I had eBay'd most of what I had:

Went to this brandeis book sale that my grandma was volunteering at. It was the last day where you could fill up a bag of books for $10, and she let me have a bag.
It was mostly cleaned out of books I wanted to read, but I found a couple, a couple D&D books, and the strategy guide to diddy kong racing. The rest of the bag I filled up with stuff to sell to Bookman's.
Went to a different bookman's than I normally go to, and they bought most of the books for $33 in credit. And all the stuff was actually priced reasonably. ^_^
I ended up buying:
Fire Emblem gamecube complete - $15
mario golf toadstool tour complete - $13
warioware inc gamecube - $10
Claymates cart only (for a trade)
2 N64 wrestling games - $1 each

Double Dribble (loose)
Goonies II (loose)

Double Switch is officially the WEIRDEST game I have ever played, and I only played it for five minutes. I had no idea what was going on except that I needed to get someone out of the basement.

That perfectly sums up my experience with the game, too. Even the 5 minutes, as that's all I ever played (or ever will, probably).

No, it just means you can overcome the game not even giving you a hint about what to do or how to do it and then yelling at you for it.

Man that was some score...
I've been wanting one of these controllers for the longest,I think about getting one all the time so that I can get into some unplayed GC games..
I need wireless.with 1 year old child,wired cotrollers isn't happening..
I NEVER see these at Garage sales or Flea Markets..If I see anything wireless it's Psn and would be missing the part that plugs into the system..
I just went on ebay looking for these controllers and was totally blown away by the current prices..
I agree, you must of made a fortune off of them..Good Going!!!

I went in the Gamestop dumpster and found a huge Killzone 2 poster that's awesome looking, a Fallout 3 poster, 3 broken PS2 controllers (two have broken joysticks and one has a ripped cord, I was able to make one working PS2 controller with about 10 minutes of soldering. ^_^), one 3rd party wireless XBOX controller missing the receiver, a generic blu ray case with dark sector cover art in it, the box to a gamecube, and Final Fantasy IV and Okami guides with the back cover ripped off.
Yes, I like to hoard a lot of crap. >_>

-Devil Summoner (PS2, complete) $8.71
-Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne (manual only, NO GAME) Free
I spotted that manual underneath one of those "under $9.99" bins at a Gamestop out in the boonies. It was covered in dust, so it must have been there a long time. Either nobody noticed it, or their hands weren't small enough to fit through to pull it out.
Anyway, they did not have the game at all, so the clerks let me have it. :)

You could try to clean them with dish soap and a paper towel, maybe use some Goo Gone too(then clean again). I've come across some really nasty games too and they came clean(I only got them because they were a part of a lot and were extras, I had to really clean them before I could try to sell them off). I don't understand how any games can get that bad, who actually treats their stuff like that, and where does the dirt come from exactly?
After cleaning, find out if the games actually work. Good luck with those games.

That's not from the sun, it's mold. Moisture in a dark place, probably from a garage or shed. If they smell odd, the smell will never go away. Awhile back my favorite seller at the flea markets (Shortround) found a box of CIB and some sealed NES games he had in storage, a cardboard box in a shed he had forgotten about. He had some semi-rare stuff but 70% of the boxes were overgrown with mold, stuck together, fuzzy, etc. I ended up getting some great games and making a nice profit out of the undamaged portion of the box but the rest was trash. For example there were two sealed copies of StarTropics. One was beautiful and mint inside (which I kept for me). The other was coated with mold inside, ruining everything.
The cartridge plastic was bubbly like what you have pictured there, inside and out. The damaged games had a sour smell, even the slightly affected ones. I tried everything to clean up the lightly damaged games - no dice. The undamaged games picked up a tiny bit of the smell (especially the boxes) but since they didn't have any direct mold I was able to air them out over a few weeks + cleaning.
What sucks is the asshole that was my main competitor at that flea market at the time (also the same dude I bought my Pole Position cabinet from) bought up all the games I left behind - the REALLY screwed up ones. He didn't get any of the good games since I knew the seller was going to bring them that day and I basically staked out his spot at 4am waiting for him to arrive. Even with that I ended up trashing a few of the games, but anyway. The other guy ended up returning the loose damaged cartridges, which got mixed back into Shorty's inventory, which eventually stank up a lot of previously fine games, which eventually lead to them becoming damaged and worthless as well.
In other words, if you detect the SLIGHTEST foulness with those games - toss them. I tried to restore those slightly damaged games, some of them for nearly a month via different techniques - no dice. I got the games looking spotless (except for the physical damage), including the boards, and they worked fine - but the smell would simply not go away and would spread to anything they were near. The boards inside smelled as bad as the cartridge plastic, there was no hope for salvation. Never mind that some of the boxes had crap growing inside them.

Those are the nastiest looking carts I've ever seen. The Captain Comic looks like someone tossed the game out a window and left it outside after getting pissed off at it. I once saw an NES cart at Goodwill that didn't look that dirty, but still made me wonder if a previous owner might have done the same thing. The game? Battletoads.

If it is indeed mold on those carts, then bleach is about the only thing that might work on them, since that is about all that will kill mold. I imagine the plastic is stained though, and impossible to get looking nice.
I stopped by a thrift today, but didn't find anything too special. GameBoy printer for 5.80 = pass. I did pick up another nice N64 controller (2.95), Jet Force Gemini and MK64 (3.80 ea), a Genesis 1 ac and rf adapters (2.45 ea.). And it is 25% off day, so a quarter off all those.

Thanks for the advice, but I don't think it's mold.
The carts don't smell at all unless you get right up to your nose, and then they only smell like cigarettes. Maybe it's the cigarette smell covering up the mold smell.
I'll probably clean the nasty things up and wrap them up in dryer sheets for a few weeks to get rid of the smell.

Those games are going to take some serious cleaning. I Worst looking game I've recieved was a dragon quest super famicom that looked like it was dipped in ink. Cleaned it for 30 minutes and got most ink out, but still ink in the little spots.

I think the catridges have been in a fire. Especially the top left corner of Galaga; it looks like it's been burned. That would explain the bubbled plastic, nasty appearace, and smoke smell. If that's the case you could clean them, but the plastic would still look kinda nasty. On the bright side, at least they're not moldy or haven't been sitting in a pile of crap for two decades.

I made the first post in this thread, and since then i've gotten alot of stuff, but haven't posted any of it. Here's the month in review, basically in order.

That's 2 R10's - Bandai Vectrex. I've had the one on the right since last year (and it's minty). The one on the left needs a little TLC, but works great. Came with a torn-label, loose Scramble Wars as well, which is an R9 and I think harder to find than the system. The deal was pretty cheap, too - especially given the normal prices of Bandai Vectrex stuff.

Scrounged from the bargain bin from Trader's post-New year's sales. Super cheap. Some are dupes which I'll post on my B/S thread soon-ish.

Very minty Metallic Silver LE Dreamcast. I'm up to 7 different LE DC's now! Another nice steal while everyone was asleep on Yahoo Auctions.

Super Cassette Vision, NIB. Got some games, too, but they are with the delivery guy and not in the apartment yet. I can't wait until they arrive, I want to try this!

And on the way home from work tonight, some more WS goodies. I've never seen or heard of one of these WS cleaning kits before, and it's not in the database... Any ideas on rarity? It was super cheap.

I know, right?
Smork don't you also have a a Divers 2000 Dreamcast? Also I don't think you mentioned how much you actually got this one for either... nor any of these items.. just the fact you got them. :p
I would be interested to know what your luck was.

Finally more stuff, first a couple clearance pickups for the PS2. Both were sealed but my girlfriend wanted to try them out when I got home so the packaging isn't pictured for the buzzers bundle.
PS2 - Buzz The Hollywood Quiz (with buzzers) ($19.98)
PS2 - Buzz The Mega Quiz ($9.98)
Fun games.

Grabbed these last three original Nintendo DS/Wii Wi-Fi dongles after the thread about their value. All three are factory sealed and are up for sale. One of the boxes is slightly crushed and two of them have the stupid TRU RZone EAS sticker on the back.

Stopped into a Gamestop that's kind of hidden away (and directly across the street from another Gamestop) that I hadn't been in. The place was packed with quality games - it's probably the best assortment of titles I've ever seen in a Gamestop. I'm going to go back for their copy of Gallop Racer 2004 later on. They also had a copy of Jurassic Park Operation Genesis - $39.99 used, but still amazed to see a copy in the wild. Turns out they had two Game Boy Players for the GameCube, and for $5.00 less than the store on the other side of town that didn't have the boot disc. I grabbed one as well as Mega Man Anniversary Collection for the GameCube (the button swap never bothered me).
GC - Game Boy Player with disc ($14.99)
GC - Mega Man Anniversary Collection ($7.99)
Amazingly this Gamestop keeps the paper backing on the price labels. So even though they are inside the cases, the inserts don't get damaged. By far the best Gamestop experience I've ever had.

Lastly, all the insert documentation from an XBox Retailer Reference Guide. No binder or dividers but it does contain about 20 or so issues of XBox Talk, and a couple dozen information cards. These are usually destroyed by the reps that update them. I don't want any of this stuff since I sold my Retailer Reference Guides years ago. However I will gladly entertain offers from the XBox collectors out there. :)

Not a super great find, but I picked up a complete, very nice copy of the classic Infocom adventure, Suspect, for the C64. Anybody want it, let me know.

Yeah, I do. That one I got in a store in Akihabara - they put it on the shelf and I snagged it a few minutes later.
I get most of my stuff from HardOff or random game stores in the middle of nowhere. I do pick up some stuff from Yahoo Auctions, too -- but mostly stuff that's going abnormally cheap (like that Bandai Vectrex, which sold with the game for about what a GCE Vectrex sells for), bulk lots, or really hard to find stuff.
I'd say outside a few recent bulk lots 95% of my games are store bought. I like the finding more than the getting, usually, so junk stores and unexpected places are much more fun to buy games than online...

Damn, that's luck. I really want one of those Divers units.. I know I could never afford or really hope to find one in my price range, lol. At least I had the good fortune of getting a Sharp NES tele.. Even if the poor thing was as dirty as most junkyards.... eeewy.
