Dude, that game is ruined. There's no going back.
Wasn't sure if it would play or not. I already have a copy, but I figured for $5 I would risk it. I guess if nothing else, it could be helpful for someone who has the .iso but doesn't like using copies unless they own the original. Anyone interested?

Have you tried it out on a Saturn yet? There could be a chance that it was cracked in the right place and works fine.

The big problem with cracked Saturn games is the OTHER end of the disk, where the copy protection is. It will definitely boot up, but you may experience read errors on thad disk.

I fired it up and let the opening movie play all the way through and then played some of the first level. Didn't have any problems. but who can say what data, if any, is stored there. I may just try to copy the disk to see if that would work, but I don't have my modded Saturn hooked up.

I get tired of going out to the local flea market and be bombarded with Mexican music and 95% of the people there only speaking Spanish, so I went out to the McKinney Trade Days up in McKinney, TX. I almost never find anything there, but at least I can communicate with the sellers in my native language. Today, at the one booth in the entire flea market that has video games, I bought Mr. Basic Meets Bits & Bites for the Intellivision ECS. It was loose and no instructions, $15. It's so incredibly rare for me to come across any Mattel games I don't already own.

Went to the Svapmeat today. The tempature here is a blistering 76. Eeeeew it's cold. Lol.
Found 2 games I needed Mario Bros. arcade classic series 3$ and The Miracle Piano Teaching system (game only) for a buck! This one is pretty rare. Especially to find in the wild. I did ask the guy if he had the piano but no luck.

Are you talking about the NES version? I come across that one loose fairly often. Last year I came across the SNES one, boxed, in Trader's Village flea market. I don't collect for Nintendo consoles, so I told the collector guy who runs a booth at the other end of the place, just to do him a solid. He's tracked down good stuff for me in the past.

They're doing 25% off all used games, so it was $7.50 for all four of those. KQV is missing the manual and whatever inserts, and Faxanadu is just missing inserts and styrofoam. Almost jumped on the $30 CIB pristine (maps and all) FF1, but another guy grabbed it.

Ugh. Talk about dead territory. I went to 8, count 'em, 8 different Goodwills this weekend. Only finds were Apex and Fight Night 2004 (xbox, complete, great cond) for 1.99 each. IIRC 6 of the GWs had nothing at all, and the other two had Genesis sports games and Dreamcast games that looked like they'd been used for cat toys.

The best thing to do is hit the thrift stores in the weeks after Christmas. That's when people tend to clean out the old crap out of their houses due to the recent influx of new items.

This week's finds:
Baten Kaitos: Eternal Wings & the Lost Ocean for $19.99 (Used, CIB)
I've already got the prequel, so I figured I should get this too.
Jazwares 5 inch Sonic & the Black Knight Figure for $14.99 (New)
I got lucky and found one in the original release packaging which has a medieval castle style background on it. All the S&TBK figures I've seen before this were the re-release versions in a boring yellow package. The downside of owning an original figure is that the paint job isn't as good as the later re-releases. Oh well, nobody will see the flaws since I'm keeping the figure sealed.
Jazwares 5 inch Sonic the Hedgehog Figure for $12.99 (New)
I bought this to open and see how good (or bad) Jazwares' quality is. When I tried moving the shoulder joint in Sonic's left arm it broke off! It popped back in easily enough, but it doesn't look like this figure can handle heavy play time. However, I am impressed with the sculpt of the head. It's is the most accurate head I've seen on a Sonic figure.
Edit: I forgot to mention the Nerf N-Strike bundle I picked up at Wal-Mart yesterday for $19.99. It's not the official bundle though. It comes with the Nerf N-Strike game and a cheap third party gun accessory.

Picked up 4 games needed for my collection, and 1 for sale/trade:

Really awesome find on the KQV boxed. The game itself is pretty uncommon, and the box even more so.

Quite a few finds this week :
http://www.green-ranger.com/nes/finds/ff8nes.jpg
almost completed my final fantasy triple triad set, just need rinoa and edea now! (paid WAY too much for the charecter cards but way worth it to me) nes games were 99 cents each, punisher has no game but everything in the boxes is completely untouched in the original baggie one even has the nintendo power cv2 cover advertisement (kinda rareish) I recall mega bomberman being kinda hard tofind I normally don't touch loose genesis games with a 50 foot pole, but i'll make an exception for bomberman. when I bought my first cd rom/soundblaster kit for my bitchin 486 years and years ago it was spose to come with zork but it didn't for some reason, and I never went back to get it rectified, now about 15 years later I finally have it and for only a dollar!.
http://www.green-ranger.com/nes/finds/menacer.jpg
boxed complete t2 menacer (a hair rarer then the 6in1 version) even has the order sheet for the 6iin1 game in the box. only 7$ not bad.
huge HUGE ATARI lot, I think I doubled my boxed atari collection here:

http://www.green-ranger.com/nes/finds/atari3.jpg
http://www.green-ranger.com/nes/finds/atari4.jpg
http://www.green-ranger.com/nes/finds/atari5.jpg
boxes are a little rough on a few, but a ton of games I didn't have boxed and I'm a sucker for label varients (never ever had a boxed sears game) I think a few are at least uncommon but for the price of 20$ I can't complain at all! a couple of them are first release gatefold boxes (been wanting to have all 9 of em) and the loose combat is the gatefold version which completes my empty box version ! and for non-game finds I also got this nice lot of he-man figures for 8$:
http://www.green-ranger.com/nes/finds/heman2.jpg
so I think I have plenty to play with tonight...so why am I still here?

Kinda weird day.
I couldn't go to the flea market yesterday because the line to cross was insanely long when I got to the border so I just came back home. I left and stayed at my mom's place overnight because we were leaving for San Diego to see my brother (who's in the hospital... he's having heart surgery on Wednesday) but before we left, I went to the flea market and picked up two CDs: Platoon and Under Siege soundtracks.
There was -one- booth that had a ton of video games, but they hadn't finished setting up by 8 AM, which was when we were leaving. T_T That and she wanted $15 for anything that had Mario or Zelda in the title. F that.
So we leave and on the way back we go eat at a restaurant, and there's a Hollywood Video nearby. They had a notice that said "80% off all remaining GameCrazy stock." Most of their games were disc only sports games (I've never seen so many NBA and Madden games in one spot) but I did find a complete copy of Harvey Birdman: Attorney At Law for the PS2 for $20 (open, but marked as new). I figured $4 wasn't a bad price for the game (and my best friend kept telling me to buy it) so I went to the counter, and then the clerk tells me it's not $4. It's $1. So yeah. I bought the game for a buck. I just need a replacement case and some new cover art, since this one is kinda trashed...

Ahhhh, I <3 Trader's Village. I haven't been there in years though. Is it still pretty good for finding video games?
It's okay. In the spring and summer there's plenty of people out there filling up the overfill areas, selling whatever junk they can lay their hands on. There's the collector guy at the northern end of the place that occasionally goes out and checks the overfill areas and grabs up anything really exceptional. I went to his booth one day right after he had bought a boxed Vectrex and something like fourteen games from someone out there. Lucky guy.
I have been avoiding the place lately. I guess it comes down to burning out on the whole experience. I might find one or two games at most, then a few visits where I leave empty-handed. The place is so freakin' huge, you're exhausted by the end of it. And every stall is blaring Latino music, every kid is tossing those explosive popper things everywhere, if there's a live band that day you basically can't hear a damn thing over it. It becomes a sort of sensory overload.
I went out there with 98PaceCar and Icbrkr (and wife) one weekend, and with so many eyes scanning tables we ended up finding a pretty good amount of stuff. I spotted some Turbo Duo games in a random pile of crappy CDs and cassettes, bought a Game Gear with TV tuner for something like $8, a Dr. Dunk LED handheld basketball game, just off the top of my head. It's always good to hunt in packs!
A quick edit: For those of you out there who think your local flea market is pretty big, check this one out. Look at the cars in the parking lots for a sense of scale.

I've been a couple of times in the past. My dad and I used to drive there from Waco and set up. Used to be pretty good for selling as people would swarm and grab up all of our decent stuff. I watched two ladies get in a fight over a beat up Dooney & Burke purse that I had bought to sell for a couple of bucks LOL.
When I went hunting in the past I've found some nice stuff. My Casiotone MT-40, which I love to death, was $5 at that flea market. My Casio RAP-1 (Rapman) was $5 also, at the same market. Got Mega Man 4, 5, and Bubble Bobble all for $10. (Went to the booth next door and got Megaman 3 for $2) Same booth that had those NES games had a top loading NES for $20 as well as some really uncommon games for 3/$10. Went to get some money and when I came back the top loader was gone :(. Also got a real "vintage" (circa 1991) Sonic the Hedgehog UFO catcher doll for $0.50 ("SEGASONIC the Hedgehog" ftw) I was dumbfounded by the amount of electronics and toys that's at this market. Over time it got really bad to sell stuff. One one occasion we got put into one of the non-overflow areas and sold nearly nothing. That's when my dad decided that we shouldn't go back. I'm planning a trip to go back there by myself in the summer though :). I've learned that the overflow area is basically the best place to go hunting, with a few exceptions.
Sorry about the rant, but it seems when I start to find stuff at this market I can't go back.
My dad and grandpa used to set up at Trader's Village back in the 70s btw. Back then it was more of an antique/junk market a la Canton.
For those of you who haven't been to this market, the whole area to the right AND to the bottom of the large brown buildings is the "overflow" area. When the light gray rows of booths are filled up, people are forced to come and set up in this open area. Most of the light gray looking areas are new crap and bootleg products. A few of the booths in that area are people trying to sell junk.
The tri-colored buildings above the overflow area are acually decent for game hunting. There's a lot of new junk but the ratio of new : old is better than the gray buildings.
The square thing above the tri-colored buildings is actually little baseball field :P.
Also one more thing (sorry for the wall o text) but I understand what you mean by the "sensory overload" thing Steve. I wish those kids would stop with the damn poppers. Anyways, I guess it didn't effect me much as I've been to Canton a bunch and it's larger and noisier. (maybe noisier...)

Actually my best finds (protos, an R10, heavy levels of great stuff) were found at a small flea market in the central valley. While the large flea markets are, well, large - they tend to be comprised of people making a business out of cheap resale.

I was born in Ft Lauderdale, FL. Used to live in Weston. I remember a simply gigantic swap meet down there....it had a walkway that was built over the road to get to it and it was just massive. I believe it also had a circus and large food court in the middle. That the one by any chance? I wouldn't be surprised if that circus doesn't exist anymore, God, that was like 16 years ago I last was there lol.

Do you guys think it's even worth really hitting any thrift stores between now and Christmas? What impact do you think Christmas is having on the stock?
The thrift I usually hit up (Value Village) has been having a ton more vg stuff lately than they normally do. I even picked up a couple things that were flippable (Phantasy Star I & II GC for $10, for instance). Haven't seen too many things I've wanted/needed and some of the prices have been a bit outlandish, but at least it means there's more stuff to look at and choose. (This is the same thrift I picked up a 3DO for $8 from.)

First of all I went to Half Price Books. You see, they've had this copy of Team Buddies there for like 6 months at $39.99. I was a little interested, as it was an R7. Dangerboy said it was a really good game so I figured I'd get it and if I didn't like it or decided to get rid of it I'd make a little off of it. When I got there it's price had been slashed to $19.99. Yay! The PS1 games in the top row were $1-3 each on clearance (Creatures, Sentient, Cyberia, and Sidewinder). This is a very good Half Price Books because in the past I've found Herc's Adventures AND Saturn Bomberman there on the cheap. Next I went to the closest Round Rock Goodwill, where they usually have an ungodly amount of CDs and DVDs all in big bins. Found The Neverhood, Inca, and some Korean AVCD (music video VCD perhaps?) for $1.99 each. Can I get another "Awesome find on that game". W00t. I <3 The Neverhood, but I already have a copy. This one will probably be held on to for a while or it might go on eBay in the near future. I'm not sure what I'm going to do with it yet.

So the Gamecube lady was back today, and she said she'd be there tomorrow. Today I got:
Baywatch TV soundtrack, Salute To Disney (Arthur Fiedler + Boston Pops) - $2 for both
Crash N'The Boys Street Challenge, Wizardry II NES - $8 for both from the Gamecube lady
Moonwalker on VHS - $2
I'm not 100% sure I'll go there tomorrow just yet.

Not really video game finds, but odd seeing as what this Goodwill says they can and cannot sell:
A Christmas Story (LD)-$4
Cool Runnings (LD)- $4
This Goodwill had LDs around a year ago, then they disappeared. I asked after a few months where the LDs were and they said they were on a "do not stock" list. Guess they got rid of that.
Also saw a mid 1980's portable TV. Black and white, but would be funny to play games on. LOL

First of all I went to Half Price Books. You see, they've had this copy of Team Buddies there for like 6 months at $39.99. I was a little interested, as it was an R7.
Actually it's listed as an R8 so you did even better. Congrats.
Can I get another "Awesome find on that game". W00t. I <3 The Neverhood, but I already have a copy. This one will probably be held on to for a while or it might go on eBay in the near future. I'm not sure what I'm going to do with it yet.
That is an awesome find, I'm still keeping an eye out for a copy to play. I actually played it for a short time in a store when it first came out, I really enjoyed what I played so far. That was over 10 years ago.
I went to the local thrifts tonight, came back with nothing. There were a couple of video game related items but I didn't feel I needed to get them. There was a PS2 controller with a built in screen but I don't even have a PS2 so I passed. I also passed on the several Super Mario/Duck Hunt carts that were $5.99 and loose Genesis sports games for $4.99. I miss how the thrifts were a few years ago, I found stuff all the time back then.

Wow, I thought it was an R7. That's awesome. I guess it's my first R8. Yay!

I believe that was a Madcatz (maybe Intec or Pelican? Can't exactly remember the brand) Hip Gear ScreenPad. People use the screens on those things for portable game projects. They don't show up on eBay too much but when they do I think they can bring anywhere from $25 to $40, depending on who wants/needs them. It'd be a good idea to pick it up next time you're at that thrift.

Wow, you guys have some massive flea markets in your area. The aerial photo of the one that Sonicwolf posted is probably larger than all three of the flea markets combined here in Winnipeg.
Finds:
Romance of the Three Kingdoms 2 NES
Sonic Adv DC Jp.
Sega Rally 2 Jp.
Pen Pen Tri DC Jp.
Jet Set Radio Future Xbox
Rover Dangerfield VHS
One On One VHS
About 30 CDs for $1 each, a lot of good ones too!

That's one and the same. Remember the suit of armor mid way through the bridge? It's marked on this picture with an 838 directly south of the big red A.
Last time I was there was maybe 2-3 years ago. They have since gotten rid of the circus and now have a sort of auto show display at the middle inside the building. All those elephants in prison shackle billboards on the way there must have made them get rid of the circus due to bad publicity.

On an Ohio visit with my family. We hit a few places for my birthday today. Hit the places I've been to previously, as well as a place recommended by a guy on vbender. I got:

-Clash at Demonhead: $2.50
-Castlevania III: $5.00 (probably my best find that day)
Saturn:

-Fighters Megamix: $15
-Daytona USA: Championship Circuit Edition $6
-Die Hard Arcade: $30 (my favorite arcade game of all time... now I have it for a home system... woot!)
-Sega Rally Championship: $5

Wow...I'm amazed that place is still going, I moved to Arizona when I was about 11. Wish I was into game collecting back then, I'm sure there was atari era stuff galore there during that time. Do you know the development Weston? That's where I used to live. I remember going to Marcum(sp?) park so many times. I also attended Country Isles Elementary. Memories...
Well I stepped into the local pawn shop the other day and grabbed some Atari 2600 games for 99 cents each...I figured that this winter I want to devote more time to gaming (especially retro), and this would give me an excuse to hook my Atari back up. I grabbed the following:
Swordquest Earthworld (wanted this one for awhile)
Swordquest Fireworld (wanted this one for awhile)
Kangaroo
Entombed
Cosmic Commuter
Congo Bongo
Adventure (wanted this one for awhile)
Nexar
Name this Game
Maze Craze
I am sure that I must have grabbed some shitty titles, but Atari is not my area of expertise, so I just grabbed mainly based on artwork and titles...something dangerous I guess.
I also found the following lying on the curb next to a garbage can on the way to the bar for an open mic night. This was my biggest find of December, probably, despite being non-game related. Just had to restring it and replace a bridge pin and everything works fine.

First off last weekend not much to say the Sega cd/Saturn guy wasn’t there :( but I did pick up Turtles in Time SNES, GC GBA player, Ice Climber NES, and Mario Bros. Arcade NES all for $20 and some random trade. Then Monday I read Craigslist and see a listing for some PS one games for $25 and this is what I saw...
http://img13.imageshack.us/img13/1194/dscf0085hj.jpg (http://img13.imageshack.us/i/dscf0085hj.jpg/)
but it was one of those two hour drives (so about $16 in gas to the price I miss my car F an SUV) so I try to get as much info out of the guy as possible he says that they are all in good shape and only MM legion is missing the manual so off I go. Upon arriving the games are placed on the trunk of his car and I start to inspect them the discs are flawless I’m not paying too much attention to the manuals besides that their in the case then I get to Breath of Fire open it up and the game is stuck to the manual the guy ripped it off and I immediately know what I’m looking at, its Katrina games so I offer $20 for the lot he won’t have it so to not waste a trip I do the $25 most of the discs are worth more than $2 apiece and most are ok with only wrinkling paper. The four at the bottom are the unsalvageable ones (the disc are good but not much else) here are some pic. of some manuals the weight is 5 Lbs.

Nice guitar! Especially for free. What brand is it?
Dock sale again and it was Sony, Sony, and SONY. Saw all shorts of shitty Sony stuff, from cordless phones to tape players to outdated satellite receivers. No really old Walkman stuff though :(
Got an Audiovox portable 5" LCD monitor w/DVD player in it's carrying case with everything for $3, looks to be working, several decent Sony and Samsung remotes for a buck a piece, a complete Delphi XM Skyfi home audio system with the receiver for $5, a Sony Mavica digital camera for a couple bucks, a Casio TV-995 portable LCD TV (with a STN screen :( . When will I start finding the good Casio EV-### series stuff?) for a buck, and the neatest thing was an early 1990s Magellan Colortrak waterproof GPS. Believe it or not these old GPSs bring some money. The only Colortrak on eBay was one that didn't sell for $90. This one works but is a bit beat up. I'll put it up and see where it goes.
If anyone needs a Sony remote let me know, cause I've now got a crapload of Sony TV, CD player, Stereo, and DVD player remotes, mostly from late 90s to now. Some the stereo remotes are from the 80s.

Yeah, apparently it's hollow plastic and attached to a little stand that you can't remove it from. Furthermore, to make it appear "weathered", as if it were used in batman's work, they had folks in overseas factories attacking it with xacto knives and rubbing it on sandpaper. Unfortunately, it just makes it look like shit and unintentionally damaged. Reading the Amazon reviews for the collector's edition is good for both a laugh and a facepalm.

That was worth a good chuckle. Especially since it's fused to the stand? Wow, am I ever glad I skipped out on that LE, my reasoning was that I simply didn't have the space to display it anyway.

All I found today was an electronic toy by Waco, apparently called Roulette. I don't know if it works yet, since I never seem to have the correct type of batteries on hand. It looks to be in good shape, albeit a bit dirty and with something rattling around inside it. I need to take it apart and investigate that.
The consensus seems to be that Waco was one of the earliest manufacturers of electronic toys. They also seem to all be imported from Japan.

Really? You've never heard of Roulette before?
Nothing special for awhile for me. Waiting for Christmas and more importantly, boxing day. Since I work at a second hand shop here have been more than a few things that I've been biding my time to get.
I did however pick up a copy of Oopona for the Wii. Which I haven't even bothered to play yet. Oh and Bomberman Land for the Wii, which is pretty fun.

Wow, that is a great Christmas find! Colecovision, 5200, Atari 8-bit, and Vectrex items are some that I don't think I've EVER found in the wild, so I'm always jealous of those who do! Congrats and enjoy your Christmas!

I celebrated Christmas with my family early, so here's a rundown of what I got gaming wise:
- Nintendo DS game case (Holds 12 games, has Yoshi on it): From myself
- Nintendo DSi (Mario bundle, Metallic Blue system): From my parents
- The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (Xbox 360): From my brother-in-law
A good Christmas overall; tied closely with Christmas 2001 as the best (That being the year I got Super Smash Bros. for my N64 as well as a Game Boy Color)

So, here's Wednesday and Thursday's finds.
On Wednesday I found several things:
http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j238/foxhack/DP/dp-2009-12-24a.jpg
The seller wanted $10, he noticed I thought it was too high, but he said $5. I countered with $7. Why? These games are -brand new-. While Clouds of Xeen is kinda common (and available with the other Might and Magic games on GOG.com for like seven bucks)... World of Xeen is not. Because it's the Macintosh version. So it may be worth a few bucks. :)
http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j238/foxhack/DP/dp-2009-12-24b.jpg
Continuing on with Wednesday's finds:
O Brother Where Art Thou (DVD, new), Shivers The Director's Cut (DVD, cardboard case has warping - apparently this is worth a lot of money?) - $4
The Flintstones for the Genesis, CIB other than the cover art being chewed away at the top - $2
Airforce Delta (DC, mint), Punch-Out - $6 for both
Stanley Clarke - Time Exposure - $1
Desperado Soundtrack - $2
And today I got Game & Watch Gallery (Game Boy), a green PS1 memory card, and Starcraft + Brood War for $7.
Oh yeah, I took advantage of Steam's latest sale (and the fact that I was actually in the US so Steam wouldn't bitch about my IP not matching my credit card) and bought The Lucasarts Adventure Pack (Loom, The Dig, Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade) and Broken Sword Twin Pack (Broken Sword 2+3), all for less than $8.

I got today:
Saturn:
-NiGHTS into Dreams... (NFR jewel case w/ manual)
NGPC:
-Samurai Shodown! 2
-SNK Vs. Capcom Card Fighters Clash! (IDK which version)
-Metal Slug: First Mission
Genesis:
-Sonic & Knuckles
Forgot how much I paid for the NGPC games individually, but they were $34 total. I know I overpaid, but that was the first time I've seen NGPC games since I got the system.
