Can a mod make this a sticky?

Kijiji ad: Atari 2600 6-switch woody light. Came with 2 coleco gemini controllers, 2 sets of paddles and 36 games, the standouts of which are:

Ghostbusters (someone wrote "Ray Parker Jr." on the label )
Gremlins
Time Pilot
Mr. Do
Pitfall II

$20 for all

Dock sale again today. Not much there. I did get a Super Fun Happy Happy Joy Mega Power Player III thing in the box for $3 and a minty, boxed copy of X-Men Children of the Atom for PC for $0.50.

Is Children of the Atom worth anything? There's a copy on eBay for $38, $42, and $45, but I've learned not to trust eBay's fixed price listings when it comes to value..

I sold a copy in a jewel case with a manual and back inlay for $20 about a year and a half ago.

The game is godawful. I'd buy a copy for myself if I could. :p

I went away on a trip to chicago and came back with a fair number of goodies. Consider that I am from a small town so some of the items are not available new here anymore.

Magna Carta PS2 - 19.99
Grandia Xtreme - 12.99 (disc missing upon arriving home)
Chaos Wars - free - (disc also missing)
Ar Tonelico II - 29.99 (new)
Stella Deus - 19.99
RPG Maker 3 - 12.99 (a gift for somebody else)
Guilty Gear Overture - 4.89 (new)
Final Fantasy Chronicles - Echoes of Time - 4.89 (new)

The Irresponsible Captain Taylor (all episodes) - $29.99
Castlevania: Dracula X SNES - 60 (I paid a fair bit for this, but I've been looking for it forever so I'm happy, my boyfriend and I went halfers on it)
Eternal Eyes PSX - $3.99
Evolution 2 DC - $4.99

I think that was it. My boyfriend will be calling the gamestop where they forgot to put the discs in and hopefully picking them up. I'm a little pissed because it'll be awhile before I get them. I just hope that he actually gets the disc because that's a fair bit of money lost.

Good luck, you may need it. I've heard lots of horror stories about these kind of things with gamestop. There's an active thread about gamestop/EB at Atariage: (see post #4 in particular)

My mom got me some Xbox games a couple Christmases ago without the discs inside. We just went to that store, showed them the credit card number and they looked it up and gave me my discs.

Other than that I am sure they could look at the computer's readout of the store copies and compare it to the copies on hand.

He JUST called back, said they have the discs there on hold for him and he's picking them up now. But yeah, I consider myself lucky. I think part of the reason why it was indisputable is the fact that they only have 1 copy of each so. They seemed really good about it, the problem for him is that it's a 30-40 minute drive there, so I feel really bad.

Bought an Eyetoy, a Sony PS AV cable, an Xbox AV cable, and F355 Challenge: Passione Rossa (DC, complete) for a grand total of $5.41 at one of my Goodwills. Almost picked up a couple Xbox S controllers for 1.99 each, but I was thwarted by my own indecision. Picked them up, put them down since I wasn't sure I "needed" them, and they were gone when I made up my mind and went back.

Also left behind a bunch of other stuff at 2 other GW's. One had a couple loose PS1s, one marked 19.99 and the other 29.99 along with a bunch of sports games. The other had two Gameboy Colors and what looked like an original DS, all loose, for 29.99 each. And all untestable. Problem being that this particular GW has a flat "no returns, ever" policy. F a lot of that.

I have it for Saturn, don't really think it's that bad of a game, just rather sluggish at times and the moves are a little tough to pull off.

No, you don't understand - the DOS port is GOD AWFUL. The game is decent on the arcade and Saturn. The PS1 port appears to be broken, and the DOS port is worse, or so I've heard. I couldn't get the thing to run in DOSbox when I got my hands on a copy.

As for me, I picked up some sort of F-1 racing game for the Sega CD for a buck. It's complete.

Got a new-to-me TV today, a Sony rear-projection, 47" 4:3. I think that will become my new gaming TV, since it's lo-def, and I only have lo-def consoles. The best part about it was the price--free. My brother's friend's dad's brother-or-friend (can't remember which) was getting rid of it, and giving it away was cheaper than taking it to the dump.

Be careful, you're not supposed to use gaming consoles on projection TVs due to burn-in.

eh, nothing really for the 1st of December. Stopped by PnT since they always have some intellivision games (I love my Intellivision :p) so I picked up

Frog Bog 1.99
Tron Discs of Death 1.99 (I'm a big fan of Tron :p)

Both have manuals and overlays. Probably paid a bit much for them but eh, I've been wanting to play them :p

Hopefully goodwill isn't dry tomorrow...

Hmm, always thought that was more of a crt problem... *checks tv, sees that it is CRT rear projection,* whoops!

Actually, after trying out some games, I really don't want to use this TV at all, because the picture is basically crap. There is no such thing as black on this TV: if there is something red on screen, then black = red; if there is blue on screen, then all the black parts turn blue; etc.. Bah, now I have to convince my mom and brothers to get rid of this TV. Oh well, maybe I can make a few bucks selling it on Craigslist.

Today's finds:

Pandemonium PS1, complete - $2
Random CD with DOS demos - $1
Toe Jam and Earl (Genesis), Phantasy Star, Alex Kidd: High Tech World - $6 for the lot.

The CD with demos is, of course, for MobyGames. Pandemonium is something of an oddity; the cover I'd seen is like this (http://www.mobygames.com/game/playstation/pandemonium/cover-art/gameCoverId,32693/), but this one says that it includes a couple of demos. I've never seen this particular variant before. I checked Game-Rave, and he hasn't gotten to Pandemonium yet. Ugh. x_x

ETA: My release was published by Eidos. Looks like a rerelease.

I guess this stuff was found in Nov, but meh:

http://i707.photobucket.com/albums/ww75/evanwink42/Finds/finds197.jpg
The Prisoner set - 19.80
3 Pokemon Binders w/ about 80 cards each - 2.80 a piece
TI-85 - 2.80
Punch Out!! - 1.80
Return to Krondor - 1.80
-- plus 25% off all those with a coupon

Pac-Mania was $8.80 shipped off eBay. Hard to find a decent price on this for some reason.

Yesterday I picked this 2600 lot up from Goodwill, having won it from their silent auction for the opening bid of $20. Nothing too special, but a few classics I didn't have, and 2600s seem to be selling pretty well lately.

Bought a modded playstation that had been pulled from eBay. $25 shipped and it came with some real games and some burns.

I wanted the system, and the one game I noticed I'll sell/trade to make up for what I paid. A complete, black label SOTN.

Also had the 3rd disc of FF7 in there for some reason, so if anyone needs it, let me know.

Breeder's Cup World Thoroughbred Championships - $3.99
Crimson Skies NFR - $3.99
Star Wars Episode III Revenge of the Sith - $3.99

PS1

Playstation Underground CD Magazine Vol. 3 Issue 3 - $1.99 (later found out it was missing discs...only one I didn't check since it was in a glass case. #@$#@)

PC
Metal Gear Solid (in 2CD Jewel Case) - $3.99

Made a mistake with the Playstation Underground discs...probably should've made sure to check it, since they had a Namco Museum Vol. 2 (Case and Instructions) with Space Invaders in it for PS1. Ahh well. Metal Gear Solid pays for the whole lot anyway.

Dock sale again today:

I'm digging through this box of purses, of all things, and what do I find at the bottom? A FREAKIN' PSP!!!

So I got a model PSP-1001 (says B2 after it.) Sony PSP for $2. LCD screen is intact, but it's missing the battery and battery cover, as well as the charger. I hope it works.

I also got some sort of Creative media player, black and rectangular with a large screen, looks like a video player, has 2GB of memory. Looks like the LCD screen's messed up. I'm gonna hook it up to my PC and see if it works. That was $1.

Also got a N64 gameshark and a Microsoft Sidewinder PC controller to use with games, $0.50 each and I got a Tandy VFD (or LED?) basketball game for $0.50, something-Shot or another. I'm not going out to the car to look at it cause it's freezing outside. This one's a bit yellowed and will be the first subject when I use retrobright.

My dad on the other hand, got a loose N64 base system, no hookups for $5 and an un-yellowed SNES for $3.

He also got a Yamaha DX-27 synthesizer with a nice gigging case for $10. I'm kinda jealous even though I prefer analog keyboards. The synth itself is in excellent condition, no scuffs or scratches or anything. One key is loose and will need to be replaced but that's no problem. Here's what it looks like: http://www.vintagesynth.com/yamaha/dx27.php

So earlier this year I found that The Rocketeer proto, which was sadly, dead.

Well... Remember that place where I got the Golgo 13 books and stuff? I went to it again since the owner had moved around more stuff and I found this weird looking cart.

http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j238/foxhack/DP/dp-2009-12-03.jpg

It was next to a few Genesis games. I picked one up and compared the pinout and realized... "Is this a Genesis proto?" I asked for a price, the guy recognized me and said "One dollar for you." So I bought it.

I just got home, and I'd luckily kept my Genesis system nearby since I was testing some games yesterday. And it's an NBA Live 97 Proto cart! It runs kinda slow (compared to the same game on an emulator)... I got to the title screen and when it got to the menu, the music stopped. I chose exhibition, and after I selected my teams, the game crashed!

Um. So yay? (666 aaaaaaaaaaagh)

Heh, I actually found a decent deal for once. Just had to travel about 50 miles away from home to do it.

Anyway, I found about 7 loose Atari 2600 games that I didn't have for $1.00 each, a stack of about 20 Atari 2600 game manuals and catalogs for $5.00, and a couple of Nintendo 64 RF switch adapters for $5.00 at a flea market.

This flea market seemed to have some steep prices, I was making a second walk down an aisle for some reason and I spotted a box on the floor with two model 1 SNES with hookups and two controllers in it and it was marked "ALL FOR $15". I immediatley told myself "That's going home with me". The SNES are severely yellowed on parts. One is yellowed on the top and one is yellowed on bottom, so I figure I'll just make one non-yellowed one and one yellowed one from the two.

Later on, I was in a consignment shop looking around, not seeing anything and thinking that it had been a waste of time. Then I realized as I was about to leave that they had anything video game related in a case at the front of the store. the had some nice Genesis games, so I picked up a CIB Sonic the Hedgehog 2, and some other loose cartridges for $5.00 each. I can't remember what other games I got, but the ones that stand out in my mind are Sonic the Hedgehog 3, Vectorman 2, Sonic & Knuckles.

I would post pictures, but I'm not home at the moment. I'm actually on a hotel computer right now. I will post a full list and pictures when I get home later today.

Also grabbed some clearance stuff from Staples

Pokemon Pearl DS $8.97
Pokemon Rangers Shadows of Almia DS $8.97
Ninja Gaiden 2 Xbox360 $8.97
Puzzle Quest Galactrix DS $4.47

The Staples in Canada have video games? The only thing the ones down here have are a few generic pc titles.

Meh, few sales today because it was freeeezing outside. I did get a HP printer adapter, a pair of Harman Kardon PC speakers, and an Xbox 360 headset all together for $2. Speakers and adapter are going to eBay. Also got Pokemon Yellow for $0.25.

I also got a Emenee Play Computer Organ (http://www.miniorgan.com/lib/view.php?miniorgan=92&srch=&srch_type=&sortby=1&output=70) for a buck. Retro!....... But I wish it had audio out as it has a neat sound to it. Very 70s and cheesy. Sigh, I see a headphone jack mod in the future.

Hit up some pawn shops and thrift stores today. Only thing I found was PS2 Street Fighter Alpha Anthology for $5. The case is dirty so I need heavily clean it/replace it.

Dropped by Half Price Books on the way back and I nabbed the following PC games....

Heroes of Might and Magic V - $6
Heroes of Might and Magic V Exp: Hammers of Fate - $5
Dark Messiah of Might and Magic - $5

I'd be stoked to find any non-Tengen unlicensed games in the wild. They've become rarer than hen's teeth. (Bet you've never heard that one.)

I haven't! And I agree that about the non-Tengen thing too.

I was pretty excited when I found those. The strange thing was that there were 4 more non-Tengen unlicensed NES games, but I had to leave themn behind due to lack of funds. :(

So I just picked out the 4 rarest ones. I have DP's Rarity Guides printed out for the sytems I collect for just this kind of occasion.

I also had to pass up buying six 3DO games for $5 each due to lack of funds. :( Oh well... I don't have a 3DO anyway...

I hear that one far too much! I think it was even the name of my 4th or 5th grade English textbook.

Nothing today. I hope to get a big lot of Colecovision stuff tomorrow.

Recieved Price is Right for the Wii (from Amazon).

Picked up Wolfenstein for PS3 and G-Force for PS3 today at the liquidating Blockbuster near me. CIB too, though G-Force did not contain the 3D glasses, unfortunately.

Contacted Disney Interactive to see if they can help me get one. :)

Went on a road trip today and got two NES games.

Star Trek 25th Anniversary (NES)-$3

Stanley and the Search for Dr. Livingston (NES)-$5

Honestly have never heard of the latter game at all. According the guide, it was a late release.
