So jealous of the Might & Magic finds. Love that series! Especially the third one, Isles of Terra.

Wow, that is a great Christmas find! Colecovision, 5200, Atari 8-bit, and Vectrex items are some that I don't think I've EVER found in the wild, so I'm always jealous of those who do! Congrats and enjoy your Christmas!
You've never found any 5200 games in the wild? I bought a whole box of them last summer for $12.

Nope, not really. But at the same time, I don't really consider specialty videogame shops "the wild" either...

Took my sister to GameStop to use her gift card, and we took advantage of the B2G1 used deal (today and tomorrow, both in-store and online). She got Spore Creatures and Spore Hero Arena (cart-only for both), and I got Star Ocean IV (complete). After edge card, I got Star Ocean for $35 and she got both of those for $22.50.

Taking advantage of Gamestop's B2G1 sale, I decided to get some games for my DSi. Some of the games I was looking for (Zelda: Phantom Hourglass, Kirby Squeak Squad) where only cartridge only, but I did find some I had been interested in trying (Prices are after discounts):
- Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor (DS. Complete in near mint condition): $22.49
- The World Ends With You (DS. Complete in near mint condition): $16.19
- Contact (DS. Complete in near mint condition): Free
- DS Universal Transporter (Holds the system, AC, spare styli, and 20 games): Late Christmas gift from my parents
I had been hearing about how good TWETY and SMTDS was and I remember hearing Contact was similar to EarthBound, so I had to scoop them up. I'll probably start playing one of them later today...until the new episode of Doctor Who comes on.

Viva Michigan.
For all my bitching about NJ, I got delicious vindication out here in Michigan. The prize of today's hunt:

Nice place. All the pre-NES stuff was a $1 each. Their mistake! We'll be going back for more GG stuff later in the week. We also got there: (All non-DS carts loose)
Science Papa (DS) $11
Dragonball GT Final Bout Original Release (PS1) $14
Amazing Penguin (GB) $10

... and about 15 Deadpool comics that I needed. 3 more to go to have every DP comic released since Circle Chase. Woot.
All in all, a real nice day. The Guy Games should pay for all we bought today too. This also doesn't include any pawn or thrift shopping. Cool. I'd post a pic but my phone is currently routing my net access so maybe I'll take it and edit later.

well, I'm not posting pics but I did get some nice finds this month.
I finally got a DS this month, I got Contra 4, Metroid Prime Hunters and M&M's Break 'em and Brain Age from Game Stop.
I actually found a complete in fair condition copy
NCAA College Basketball 2K3 for GCN also from Gamestop, one of my better finds in a while.
At a thrift that I frequent I found
Jawbreaker and Cabbage Patch Kids Musical Match Up for Atari 2600 for $2.49 each
At Goodwill I found Silent Hill and Street Fighter Alpha 3 complete for $2.99 each and I found Earthworm Jim and After Burner II loose for Genesis for .99 each too.
I'm liking this month so far. Maybe I'll find one more good thing this year.
What's NCAA 2K3 worth these Days?

As you can see in the picture, Gurumin and Phantasy Star Portable both have their spine stickers under the clear sleeve, but are still on their backing. Hammerin' Hero is probably stuck on the outside, but I can't tell in that pic.
@ Porksta, because some Store Managers or DM's require that, even though its not quite GS policy (on the backing under the clear sleeve is fine).

All 8 or so GameStops in my area put the stickers on the spine, but they leave the wax backing on. Good pickup Animerforever05, the PSP rocks. A few things over the past week or so. I've been out of town visiting my parents so this is a bit of a catch up.
There were some pretty good PS2 deals so I figured why not. Offer for the first four was buy one get one half off, buy three get one free - so that's how the pricing works. All are new.

I got a lot similar to this for the same price at a church sale, but instead all of the carts had "LARRY" written on them like that. Freakin' Larry.
Fun games, but the fact that they're common and that someone wrote their name on them like that just destroys the little collector's value that they had.

Not worth the trouble for common games. I gave them the standard cleaning before they get sorted in with the rest. A little of the marker faded but it's no big deal.

Again, they're all duplicates save for one anyway. No value in them outside of to play but they're fine to make lots out of and toss them in next time I dump yet another VCS system at a yard sale.

If this is as bad as the PS2 one, you just wasted your money. ._.
It is better than EA Replay by ten fold.

Wow, cool find on Digimon. My Wal Mart still has PS1 games, but they are Madden 2005 and Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, and $19.99 each.
Also, its kind of weird that Madden 09 was $10.99. I've bought like 7 or 8 of them in the last few weeks at different blockbusters and its always been $9.99.

Looks like they are on the insert, but they did it the smart way - they didn't take the sticker off the wax paper. Why can't more Gamestops do that?
When I lived in Missouri, the local GameStop's would always do that. I loved it, and where I live now, they don't do that.

Gurumin I could tell was still on wax paper. I couldn't really tell on Hammerin' Hero but props to Daria for pointing out it was sealed. I wasn't completely sure on Phantasy Star as I thought it might be a multi-sticker job. There were a few stores in my area that stickered new gutted games like the used ones. I wondered if maybe he had gotten one that was traded in and they slapped yellow stickers over the old white ones.
When I worked there, I flat out refused to apply the sticker to the insert and always kept the sticker on the wax paper. It was a mild pain in the butt to get the other managers in the store to comply with that but I managed to convince most of the part timers to do it like I did. I usually ended up processing all trades anyway just to make sure it got done the "right" way. I didn't care if it was a highly sought after rare title or a common copy of Madden, I didn't want to see ANY game have it's insert covered with the crappy stickers. It only figures after I left that the company issued an edict banning future games from having the sticker applied to the spine. :beaten:

So, just to doublecheck here... is it now gamestop company policy to not place price stickers directly on the inserts?

As far as I know. I went into my old store a few months back and they were wearing jeans instead of khakis. I asked what was up with that and my old manager said "It's something new they just implemented. They said we're allowed to wear jeans now! Oh and you'll like this, we're to not sticker the spines anymore"
When I asked her to elaborate, she said that corporate stated it had received numerous complaints about the practice and told the stores that going forward they needed to discontinue applying stickers to the spines. Just one price sticker on the front in the right hand corner and one on the back covering the UPC (if the game is used). They also changed the language around and instead of the stickers saying "USED", they now say "Pre-Owned" (which IMO was always a better term, I refused to say we had "used" games to customers).
I've no idea how well enforced that is in stores outside of my old store's district though. I don't really have the time (or money) to go venturing out to stores well out of my way to see if they're compliant or not. LOL

My last finds of the year. Instead of going straight home from the gym the gf and I decided to check out a local dump that sells weird stuff:

Quiz Academy, all brand new and sealed. I left 5 (FIVE) sealed copies of the very same game behind but I'm thinking of going back to pick them up in the new year just for the hell of it. Also, a DS cart holder.
But the find I'm most happy about was this:

A TURTLES MUG! Sweet mother of all that's good in this world, I love this mug to bits! And if Raphael isn't cool enough, the other side of the mug has these guys:
