Finished Halo 2 tonight. I bought it a month or so after it came out and came close to beating it but never did. I decided to pound out the last few levels tonight and was surprised how close I was to the end. Not sure why it took me 5 years to do it.

1. Mega Man 9 (XBLA, 1/4)
2. Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine (Genesis, 1/4)
3. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Arcade Game (XBLA, 1/4)
4. Golden Axe II (Genesis, 1/5)
5. Eternal Sonata (X360, 1/6)
6. Alien Storm (Genesis, 1/6)
7. Battle Arena Toshinden (PSOne, 1/7)
8. Magic the Gathering: Duels of the Planeswalkers (XBLA, 1/9)
9. Super Mario World (SNES, 1/14)
10. Strongbad's Cool Game for Attractive People: Episode 5: 8-bit Is Enough (PC, 1/15)
11. Fatal Fury (PS2, 1/17)
12. Ys III: Wanderers from Ys (SNES, 1/19)
This is another game from my childhood that I still enjoy to this day, it had been years since I had played it last and I had forgotten just how short it was, and compaired to Ys and Ys II it's also no where near as hard. Since this was the game that introduced me to this series it was nice to go back and play, and it makes me want to look into some of the other games in the series, thankfully they decided to return to the original style with Ys IV.

Over the last few days I finished:
Mega Man: The Wily Wars (all three games and The Wily Tower)
Assassin's Creed II (X360)
Double Dragon (Genesis)
Rambo III (Genesis)
I had never finished any of these before, and except for AC II, I'd had them all for quite some time.
I might try something a little more lengthy next.

2. Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine (Genesis, 1/4)

4. Golden Axe II (Genesis, 1/5)
5. Eternal Sonata (X360, 1/6)
6. Alien Storm (Genesis, 1/6)
7. Battle Arena Toshinden (PSOne, 1/7)
8. Magic the Gathering: Duels of the Planeswalkers (XBLA, 1/9)
9. Super Mario World (SNES, 1/14)
10. Strongbad's Cool Game for Attractive People: Episode 5: 8-bit Is Enough (PC, 1/15)
11. Fatal Fury (PS2, 1/17)
12. Ys III: Wanderers from Ys (SNES, 1/19)
13. Fatal Fury 2 (PS2, 1/20)
Man, this game was frustating. The controls felt sluggish and the AI was insanely cheap. I still managed to work my way through after playing it for about two hours straight. I don't think this one will see much play in the future, much like Toshinden, since it lacks any kind of story there is no real reason to go back to it.

Already beaten:
#1: FreeCell (PC) [1\12]
New to list:
#2: MRC: Multi-Racing Championship (Nintendo 64) [1\17]
Since I sold my copy of it off ages ago, I decided to revisit the game by setting up an emulator; plowing throuth it in a single sitting. It's still a pretty good game, but it does get tiresome (Hence why I sold my copy after beating it 100%; with only 3 tracks, there's not much replay value in it).

Somebody refresh my memory... does it matter if you've finished it 100 times or not?
Previously finished that I have finished in 2010:
1: Final Fantasy VI (SNES) - all characters... I had finished it at the end of 2009, but I absolutely had to have the complete ending, and to shave several hours off my previous time.
2: Adventures in the Magic Kingdom (NES) - This is one I've finished many times, but I struggled with it last night... fortunately, it's easy to never ever run out of lives.
3: Mega Man 3 (NES) - Again, I've finished this many times.
Finished for the first time in 2010:
Joe and Mac (SNES) - Normal mode (anyone know if hard mode provides a different ending?) - Fighting the last guy for a long time, and I get knocked down to my last life and last heart, and almost in full panic mode (and plenty of cursing), I pull it off.

In an attempt to get my post count above single digits, I will try and keep track of what games my patience allows me to beat, I'm also on a massive PS2 kick, so that'll be the majority of my list for a while
#1. Jan/single digit/2010: Star Wars Battlefront
It's short, it's easy, and it's fun. I don't play online, so after the "story mode" I just abused the computer for 2 weeks until I got Battlefront 2.
Highlight: 130 kills on Hoth as a rebel soldier
Lowlight: The Sequel
#2. Jan/Someteenth/2010: Star Wars Battlefront 2
It's short, hard and frustrating. You're no longer just a random guy on a battlefield, you're public enemy #1. Every enemy goes after you, and you alone. It also takes 3 times as many hits to kill anything, and it goes without saying, Rambo'ing it up in this game just doesn't work.
#3. Jan/20th/2010 Devil May Cry
I hadn't played this game in a good six years, and it's just as fun as ever. Apparently everyone hates the sequel, so I'll play that next.
Also, screw giant pigeon laser bird bosses, they suck.
Next Up: Devil May Cry 2

Ok I beat FF 7, DW 7, Chrono Trigger, RetroGame Challenge, and Lufia 2 (Lufia 2, I beat twice) this year so far.
This is while I wait for RO, Shiren, and SMT:SJ to come out.

Not really. It's up to you what you wish to count on your list. If I counted every instance of me beating a game last year, my list would have been even longer than it was, but I've decided to only count games that I've beaten for the first time.

lol yea same here, however to be fair, the year is still new, so the odds of such runs of destruction are pretty low(downright impossible if your main genres are RPGs, and Tactic games).

Finished A Boy and His Blob (Wii) tonight. I won't spoil anything, but the last few levels are just fucking awesome, for the most part due to the awesome new transformation the Blob obtains. It really is a wonderful game; it's a shame nobody bothered to buy it.

Lol I think the problem is the name, lets be real, if you want people to buy a game/take a chance with such, it needs to have atleast a somewhat cool name, a Boy, and his Blob sounds like a title for 5 year olds.

1. Lego Batman
2. E.T.: The Extra Terrestrial
3. Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (GG)
4. Sonic Spinball (Genesis, Mega Collection)
5. Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine (Genesis, Mega Collection)
Fuck this game. I've been picking away at it for the last few years and I hated every bit of it. It's a retardedly difficult version of Bejeweled.
Beating that effectively finishes off...
6. Sonic Mega Collection
Great damn collection. The inclusion of Sonic the Hedgehog 3 & Knuckles is, in of itself, a buying point. Having Ristar and Vectorman just sweetens the deal. Would have been nice to have the Streets of Rage games that the Japanese version got, but, eh.

Hey I ain't one to pick any fights but Mean Bean Machine (puyo puyo) is fun, you should do practice mode with a friend, once you start learning how do get those crazy chains on your friend and wipe him off the screen, maybe you'll like it better :)
But (IMHO) Sonic Spinball on the other hand, man, that last boss/stage is just retarded. Matter of fact %85 of that game is crapola, totally against what a Sonic game should be. I hated that game when I was a kid, and it stands the sucky test of time now. The music, the controls, that stupid, stupid message board that throws cheesy lines throughout every stage, just blegh.
But yeah, I'm actually still playing the Genesis Mega Collection now.
So far, I've beaten all the Golden Axe games, both Vectorman games, and am nearing the end of Decapattack, which I'm playing for the first time ever. Never appealed to me as a kid, but is an okay platformer. Thank goodness there's the old save state option for some of these games!

12. Ys III: Wanderers from Ys (SNES, 1/19)
13. Fatal Fury 2 (PS2, 1/20)
14. Rival Schools (PS1, 1/21)
15. Bayonetta (X360, 1/22)
Not much to say on Rival Schools, while it doesn't look the greatest it's still a blast to play and I don't see why Capcom never did anything with the series past Project Justice, but I suppose it's likely because the series probably didn't fare well when it comes to sales, oh well, here's hoping that it gets revived in some form in the future.
As far as Bayonetta is concerned, I loved it. It was a great game and I want to start playing it on hard, but I have so many other games right now that I just don't think that's going to happen, but I'll definently be coming back to it sometime in the future.

One of the biggest problems with Wii by far. There are a lot of unique & awsome games on Wii, but due to lack of marketing & the fact that the general public believes Wii is all kids stuff, nobody really notices them. I personally am going to finish/sell the 20+ games I have just to make room for some Wii titles other than New Super Mario Bros.

9. Sonic Gems Collection
I feel that Sonic Mega Collection was a better collection overall, but that has more to do with it having access to some of the better known Sonic games. It was nice to finally play Sonic CD and to see what Sonic Fighters was all about. And Triple Trouble is always nice to have on hand.

Beat Quake 2 (PC) for the first time on Medium difficulty. One of my favourite games from when I really started playing computer games more actively, I'm glad to have finally gotten around to beating it. Pretty long and otherwise somewhat challenging. It's quite the departure from Quake 1, seeing how Romero and his style were no longer at id, and I guess I prefer the original more gothic style as a result.
Anything happen after 'The End' screen?

Not much to say, just beat a couple of fighting games. I still really enjoy Capcom Vs. SNK, but I dislike the point system they used for character select, although the characters I like playing are all either a 1 or 2, so it's not too hard for me to build a 2 or 3 person team. Naruto I picked up on clearance at Target after seeing it had some generally positive reviews. I was a bit disappointed by how short the story mode was and thought the game was fairly limited, even for a DS game. It's certainly not a terrible fighter, but it just doesn't stack up to the Clash of Ninja games on the GC and Wii.

What a frustrating game. . . I don't know if I'll ever play it again. The final three stages are not enjoyable. . . at all.
All the other Shinobi games are much more fun because they aren't absolutely brutal.
I'm off to play something that doesn't make me want to pull my hair out.

And I must through to have played all the way through this game. I was previously stuck on level 2. But in the middle of the night I couldn't sleep so reached over for the iPhone and beat level 2 on my first attempt and carried on through. I can't be bothered to list the huge amount of faults of this game but strangely the music is better than both the XBox360 and PS3 versions!

Strange how the two Katamari games will sit together on this list now... This version was really good. And all the new modes I've unlocked since beating it seem like great fun as well. There's loads of levels. I've just found out that all the levels I thought were new were actually from Beautiful Katamari - shows you how much I remember of that game, ,although a lot were paid for DLC.

Uncharted 2 was amazing as expected. Some frustrating combat scenes at the end but otherwise a masterpiece.
Next up: Demon's Souls. I haven't learned the meaning of frustrated yet.

Oop, looks like I almost missed a potential conversation.
Hey I ain't one to pick any fights but Mean Bean Machine (puyo puyo) is fun, you should do practice mode with a friend, once you start learning how do get those crazy chains on your friend and wipe him off the screen, maybe you'll like it better :)
I'm just not much of a puzzle game fan, so I'm being much harder on the game that I probably should be. It just seemed to move at a pace that was unreasonable for what the goal was. I'm sure it's great fun in multi-player and I intend to explore that eventually.
Yeah, I know what you mean. The best part about Spinball is the music and a few of the visuals. It's mostly just a chore to play. Interestingly enough, I notice that much of the game play (where you are controlling Sonic on a platform, not actually in the pinball areas) is similar to the tech demo for the SatM Sonic game.
